With a grand gesture of simplicity recognizes God's mercy when being in the womb of his mother, she succeeds bringing him to the world despite the cholera epidemic that plagued their region and which pregnant women were the main victims. "The Lord never despises a contrite and humbled heart," that was the phrase that our father Luis Amigo used from the prophet David to thank God for all the favors received despite the ingratitude which he believed he has had towards the God Father. A man born to a new life The day after his birth receives the sacrament of baptism and is called JosĂŠ MarĂa, in honor of the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph, the great patriarch. His parents do not only appreciate this gesture of introducing him into new life by the sacrament of baptism but the whole religious and academic training offered while living in Valencia. Is with great pride being born in the year of the declaration of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, recognizing at all times the protection of his great patrons Joseph and Mary when the danger stalking him. Religious education, his great bastion The parents recognize the virtues of faith, wisdom and compassion that he assimilated well and has manifested in his own life. Also thanks to his parents for the orientation through progressive education in the faith by accompanying him in receiving his first communion on May 13, 1866 in the Parish of St. Nicholas, and the sacrament of confirmation on November 18, 1857 in the Parish San Lorenzo. His greatest gift was to receive God's call to be a priest from an early age while playing make altars, saying mass and celebrate feasts, custom that accompanied him until he was older.
Father Luis is declared Venerable in the Church, recognizing that he lived the virtues to a heroic degree, calling him the Giant of Holiness. All of us who know consider him as our intercessor to whom we entrust our needs to deposit in the heart of God the Father. Let us go to him confidently.
