Foundation of the
Convent of Montehano The Capuchin Order arrived to Santander thanks to the request of the bishop of that town, Don Vicente Calvo y Valero who acquired the consent of the superiors to carry out this work. The convent built in 1421 by Don Beltran de Guevara was received by the Order of the Tertiary on January 19, 1879 in the hands of the bishop. Receiving the diaconate and priesthood With great joy Fray Luis received the diaconate on March 8, 1879 held by the same bishop in Santoña. The same month received the order to the priesthood in the church of the convent of Montehano on March 29, 1879. Fray Luis Amigó celebrated his first Mass on April 4, being the day of our Mother of Sorrows with the presence of the bishop who ordained him. First strides in the exercise of the priesthood Immediately Fray Luis begins his apostolic activities by making confessions and preaching at major religious festivals.

- On December 29, 1892 Father Luis Amigo is appointed guardian of the convent of the Capuchins. - On November 13, 1913 Luis Amigo takes possession of Segorbe diocese.
His first baptism was made with a little one who was left at the gates of the convent with the name of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, which would later become the name of the Congregation of the Holy Family. Finally he was honored with the title of preacher on June 12, 1879 following the departure of Stephen Fray Adoain to Rome and was confirmed in the same office on May 21, 1881 by General Fray Egidio Cortona.
