Origen / Esencia es una exposición que refleja el trabajo creativo de la artista Alessandra Sequeira, quien a partir de elementos como el espacio, el color, la forma, la textura, el valor y la línea, crea obras de arte que involucran las interrelaciones entre los seres humanos y su entorno.
Origin / Essence is an exhibition that reflects the creative work of the artist Alessandra Sequeira, who from elements such as space, color, shape, texture, value and line, creates works of art that involve the interrelations between human beings and its environment.
El origen de algo es la fuente de su esencia. El artista es el origen de la obra. La obra es el origen del artista. Ninguno puede estar sin el otro. Cualquier manifestación artística comienza desde la base de la relación entre el autor, la obra de arte y el público.
The origin of something is the source of its essence. The artist is the origin of the work. The work is the origin of the artist. None can be without the other. Any artistic manifestation starts from the basis of the relationship between the author, the work of art and the public.
Si observamos de cerca las obras de Alessandra, desde el punto de vista de su realidad pura, sin aferrarnos a ideas preconcebidas, verificaremos que se presentan de forma tan natural como la vida misma.
If we look closely at the works of Alessandra, from the point of view of their pure reality, without clinging to preconceived ideas, we will verify that these are presented as naturally as life itself.
Lo que da a las obras de esta artista su fuerza y solidez, es precisamente porque la autora deja su alma a través de su trabajo como una extensión de sí misma, tratando de transformar el estado de ánimo del espectador en emociones. Su arte es transformador, enriquece, mueve la consciencia, se aprecia no solo con los ojos, sino que llega al alma.
What gives the works of this artist their strength and solidity, is precisely because the author leaves her soul through her work as an extension of herself, trying to transform the mood of the viewer into emotions. Her art is transformational, it enriches, moves consciences, is appreciated not only with the eyes, but reaches the heart and the soul.
No hay duda de que tenemos que experimentar su arte, como lo hacen las personas que viven y disfrutan con el corazón. En definitiva, las obras de Alessandra Sequeira, sin duda, muestran una experiencia de arte relacional.
There is no doubt that we have to experience her art, as the people who live and enjoy them do, with the heart. In short, the works of Alessandra Sequeira, undoubtedly show an experience of relational art.

Desde mucho tiempo atrás y en particular en el mundo posmoderno, la conciencia humana se encuentra condicionada por las formas de pensamiento, la censura de emociones y el mundo material, donde estas asumen el papel principal y son el foco primordial de las personas. De este modo la identidad verdadera queda trastocada y comienza a aparecer la identidad adaptada.
Since a long time ago and particularly in the postmodern world, human consciousness is conditioned by the forms of thought, the censorship of emotions and the material world, where they assume the main role and are the primary focus of people. In this way the true identity is disrupted and the adapted identity begins to appear.
Como consecuencia, la raza humana confundida y despojada de su verdadera identidad, abandona la conexión con su esencia y queda sujeta a la identificación con dichas formas. La resultante es acumulación de conocimiento y ausencia de sabiduría. Luchamos por el progreso y la acumulación dejando de lado la evolución. Durante estos últimos 5 años, los procesos artísticos me han llevado a reconocerme -a nivel simbólico- como gota, como centro, como la partícula misma con que el universo ha sido creado. Ha sido un ejercicio constante, un camino de recogimiento y expansión. Mis viajes como los suelo llamar, recorren estados de consciencia que abarcan espacios desde la biología, la energía, la sinergia, la cuántica, el cosmos y la espiritualidad. En el proceso, surge esta suerte de método intuitivo, donde busco y exploro el origen del ser, la esencia de la vida, y la consciencia. Esto me ha permitido llegar a un profundo autoconocimiento donde busco llevar al espectador a cuestionamientos que desplieguen su propio potencial. Cada obra posee un carácter individual pero en su conjunto, en las interconexiones todas son parte de un organismo, de materia, pensamiento y sabiduría vivos. En cada pieza podremos comprender que no somos seres aislados o separados, aunque para la mente pareciera que sí. En un plano más profundo se halla una conexión con la esencia de la vida misma, la consciencia pura.
As a consequence, the human race, confused and stripped of its true identity, abandons the connection with its essence and remains subject to identification with these forms. The resultant is the accumulation of knowledge and the absence of wisdom. We fight for progress and accumulation leaving aside evolution. During these last 5 years, the artistic processes have led me to recognize myself -on a symbolic level- as a drop, as a center, as the same particle with which the universe has been created. It has been a constant exercise, a path of recollection and expansion. My trips, as I usually call them, go through states of consciousness that encompass spaces from biology, energy, synergy, quantum, the cosmos and spirituality. In the process, this kind of intuitive method emerges, where I look for and explore the origin of being, the essence of life, and consciousness. This has allowed me to reach a deep self-knowledge where I seek to take the viewer to questions that display their own potential. Each work has an individual character but as a whole, in the interconnections all are part of an organism, of living matter, thought and wisdom. In each piece we can understand that we are not isolated or separated beings, although for the mind it seems that yes. On a deeper level there is a connection with the essence of life itself, pure consciousness.
Es mi voz y mi intención, es el llamado, el deseo de convertir mi obra en espacio y espacios donde la expresión singular del ser, la quietud, la divinidad creadora, se vean reflejados y el espectador se pueda identificar, conectar, reflexionar y poder escuchar.
It is my voice and my intention, it is the call. The desire to turn my work into space and spaces where the singular expression of being, the stillness, the creative divinity, are seen and the viewer can identify, connect, reflect and be able to listen.
Entender que la Esencia del Ser es la fuente que anida en nosotros, es el Origen y el Fin.
Understanding that the Essence of Being is the source that nests in us, is the Origin and the End.

La creación del Museo Municipal de Cartago, responde a la necesidad por conservar el patrimonio cultural de la Ciudad de Cartago. El Museo Municipal de Cartago abrió sus puertas a la comunidad en la antigua Comandancia el 23 de abril del año 2010.
