The Stuff of Dreams Excellent story. Superb writing. Just way too short. This one definitely should have been a much longer book! Especially enjoyed the interplay between Worf and Picard.
The Secret Casella Baby This is a question ordinary girl Holly George never thought she'd be able to answer! Until one sizzling night with brooding Brazilian Luiz changes her life. Not only is Luiz Casella a billionaire but now Holly is expecting his baby! Holly can don all the silk and diamonds Luiz can shower her with but she'll always feel most comfortable working at her animal sanctuary. Yet it seems she might have to get used to living in the world of the rich and famous‌.
The Ribbon Weaver This is another great book with a wonderful story. If you like this book you will also enjoy Anna Jacobs as another writer.
Heal the Sick, Raise the Dead Fans of horror will enjoy this, and even though I am not a horror reader, I didn't want to put it down. However, I was a tad disappointed with the Epilogue, it was somewhat complacent given the journey, and I don't think it did justice to the rest of the book. Nevertheless a very good read.
Good Husband Material I first read Good husband material when I was still commuting to London: I laughed aloud a few times. Very embarrassing on a crowded train. The heroine is very practical and determined the heroes (well, one of them is not) in the mould of heroes and villains of classic romances, described with irony. Bess the dog is incredibly stupid and lovable. I loved the paperback: I have already ordered the kindle version!

Get a Life I liked the dual meaning of the title: the colloquial exclamation encouraging to do something with your life and the understanding of life the first possible to accomplish with a little effort, the second - not at all.
Garden of Stones Lucy is such a lovely child, spirited, smart and resilient, so the contrast with her adult self in the dual time narrative is unbearably poignant, even though at times I felt it was intrusive. For Lucy's daughter Patty, to whom Lucy is an enigma, understanding her mother's early life becomes key to absolving her of the present murder. As she uncovers her mother's past she is stunned by the revelations, though there are still many secrets that Lucy keeps, as a mother determined to protect her child.
Fever (The Breathless Trilogy) Now I anxiously await Ash! I must admit that I have a bit of an obsession with this bad boy (he is my fave of this trio). Not sure why but I am seriously addicted to him and NEED his story like now (August is way too far away). Ash is going to be so damn intense to read. I am thinking his dominate side and possessiveness will blow Jace and Gabe out of the water. Any who, enjoy Jace and the gang in Fever!
Falling Blind: The Sentinel Wars Rory has been running for her life , and when she meets Cain she is strangely drawn to him, even though she knows she should be scared of him. She knows enough about the monsters that are out to get her to know that no one can be trusted. Cain tries to gain her trust, but since he's been burned before he tries not to hold out hope that she is the Theronai that will save him. They form a temporary alliance in order to help her find the person or thing that keeps her from having her visions and keep her safe from the demon that is out for revenge.
Emilie and the Hollow World Much as I loved reading Emilie today, I am rather sad that I didn't have it to read when I was growing up. It is exactly the kind of book I would search through the library shelves hoping to find. But I'm glad to have it today. And I am hoping that I can join Emilie on another adventure very soon.

Doppelganger DOPPELGANGER is a fantastic young adult urban fantasy in which the one who calls himself a monster regrets what he has to do while his human "father" is the real fiend who abuses those he should cherish. The doppelganger is an interesting creature who is unlike the rest of his race because he doesn't like to kill, wants to know love and other good human emotions, and genuinely cares about the Parker females. Amber is his biggest regret because he knows that in the near future he will lose her but he also realizes "you've got to accept the best of a bad situation", which in his case is his entire life.
Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch In The Salem Branch, Lara Parker shows that she has definitely grown as a writer since her first novel and has a talent for turning of phrases which are at times very poetic. She does an excellent job of faithfully portraying the characters we know from the Dark Shadows series without making them seem stale and two dimensional. Whereas some readers criticize Barnabus' drug use in this novel, they fail to point out that both times this occurs he was naively tricked into ingesting them. The scenes describing the fear and ignorance of the Salem Witch trials were fairly accurate in my opinion.
Deal with a Demon
Great beginning, I can't wait for additional chapters. The developing characters intrigue me, I want to learn more about them. If I could I would still be reading.
Credence Foundation The concept of the Believers is a very original concept, I've not seen used by other authors. In the end, this read was a fulfilling journey. I was never sure where the story was headed, but I was always anxious to find out. This was my favorite science fiction book since Isaac Asimov's works. I look forward to reading future works by Marco Guarda. I would definitely recommend this book.
Cheapskate in Love (A Romantic Comedy) There’s only one thing that Bill loves more than free food or a final-discount sale: a beautiful woman half his age. His best friend, sister and coworkers think he should learn from his misadventures with pretty, young women, like the sadistic Chinese acupuncturist and the Ukrainian diamond-digger, but he doesn't. He likes living in a fantasy.

Blood Trade: A Jane Yellowrock Novel The action packed Skinwalker series continues to grab readers from the start and pull you right into the story. Jane Yellowrock, a shape changing, Harley riding, snarky, Cherokee skinwalker who shares her soul with a mountain lion simply known as Beast, has a little problem. In a nutshell, vampires. Normally, she hunts them, but now she is stuck working for them. But, hey, even rogue vampire killing, security expert bodyguard/bounty hunter gals have off days, right?
Bleeding Out The last OSI urban fantasy (see A Flash of Hex and Inhuman Resources) is a great finish to a strong paranormal police procedural. Tess is at her best as she works three cases (one authorized) with each different yet dangerous. Fans will enjoy the heroine's curtain call and hope for her to return one day soon somewhere else in Canada like Toronto.
Assassin's Gambit: The Hearts and Thrones Series
Lucien’s quick mind and considerable skills awaken unexpected desires in Vitala, weakening her resolve to finish her mission. An assassin cannot fall for her prey, but Vitala’s gut is telling her to protect this sexy, sensitive man. Now she must decide where her heart and loyalties lie and navigate the dangerous war of politics before her gambit causes her to lose both Lucien and her heart for good.…
Angelopolis Angelopolis launches you into a whole new fictional perspective of the world that you grew up in and what is currently around you. The ancient mysteries and interweaving of history regarding the Nephilim are just amazing. Danielle has outdone herself with this masterpiece. I need to read Angelology again and then read Angelopolis again as well. So much to absorb but just so incredible. The stories are sooo rich.
Allegiance Sworn (A Novel of the Light Blade) With the alliance of the humans and the half-blood Na’Chi forged, the demon Na’Reish prepare for war by seizing human blood-slaves. Captured during a rescue mission-gone-wrong, Light Blade warrior Arek Barial finds himself claimed by a Na’Reishi female who offers him an unexpected choice. Raised in the elite ranks of a society she abhors, Imhara Kaal lives a dangerous double life as a Na’Reish Clan-leader and an advocate for a caste-free life that honors the Old Ways. Openly rebelling against the Na’Reish would mean her death, unless she can find an emissary willing to present her petition to the human Blade council.

Abduction (A Shefford-Johnson Case, Book 1) Abduction will keep you up nights with its expertly woven twists and cliffhangers! This thriller is unusual in that it has controversial issues to present. Nearly every character learns to view issues from others' perspectives and grows from this new awareness.
A Textbook Case (a Lincoln Rhyme story) I've read eight of Jeffery Deaver's 'Lincoln Rhyme' novels but this is my first short story of his. His books always contain a mystery so skilfully constructed it's almost as if you're watching a puzzle slowly disassemble itself as you turn each page. All of his novels are quite large and the disassembling takes time so I was interested in seeing how well he's able to build a mystery with so few pages. Admittedly it doesn't have the same flair that his full-length novels have but it was still an enjoyable and quick read. Any of the Lincoln Rhyme novels work fairly well as a stand-alone, but if you're a newbie to Deaver's works I'd recommend A Textbook Case to give you a glimpse at what he's capable of.
A Dance of Blades: Shadowdance Trilogy, Book 2 I discovered David through my mother, who felt his books would be right up my alley. The first book I read of his was the first book in the Shadowdance Trilogy, "A Dance of Cloaks". After finishing the book I took to pestering the author
for a sequel. "A Dance of Blades", is for me one of the best fantasy books I've read this year. The whole point of reading fiction is to become lost in the story the author puts forth. David achieves this in every book of his, I've had the pleasure to read. While this trilogy can be read on it's own it does tie into his other series. There is still a lot of mystery in David's world to explore, and can't wait to learn more with each book he puts out.
212 In addition, the plot of 212, like each of Burke's previous novels, reflects current events. But more than that, it examines some hefty "why" questions that are floating around these current events as well. And whenever Burke addresses a "why" question in her writing, she illustrates that the answer to that question is never a basic one, like so many people want to make it out to be. Afterall, it's humanity she's addressing, and humanity is certainly never basic. In 212, Burke takes a 348 page back swing allowing her to masterfully stroke her theme straight down the fairway and sink a hole-in-one on the final page. It's a monumental ending, one that won't quickly leave your thoughts.
Light: A Gone Novel Each page was full of emotion, action, and suspense. I had to read it in once sitting because I literally could not put it down. This is my favorite series finale that I have read so far. Michael Grant ties up every loose end and answers every question that was raised during the series. He takes time at the end to give complete closure to the story. Gone is one of the best YA series around, and Light does not disappoint. It was a high quality ending that I would recommend to anyone who's read the other books in the Gone series. And if you haven't, well what are you waiting for?

House Made of Dawn "House Made of Dawn" has a somewhat fragmented structure. Like William Faulkner, Momaday expects the reader to do some work in assembling the greater story. But such work is rewarding. Recommended as companion texts: "A Son of the Forest and Other Writings," by groundbreaking Pequot Indian author William Apess and "Mohawk Trail," by Beth Brant, a contemporary author of the Bay of Quinte Mohawk people.
Walking Disaster I have been waiting for this book to come out and it was worth the wait. I can not believe there are so many negative comments from other people who loved the 1st book. Come on, we all knew it was Travis POV so there was no shock that it was the same story line just more info on Travis and his love for Pidge. I loved the fact that there where extra chapters towards the end of the book that the first one didnt have. It didnt leave me thinking I need more. I loved everything about both books.
Your Voice in My Head: A Memoir Very interesting read. The description of her journey through mental illness is gripping. The relationship aspect is fascinating but secondary to her true struggles through the illness.
Wrecked Wrecked is a meltingly romantic and very sexy contemporary. This was my first book by Shiloh Walker and definitely won't be my last. I love friends-turned-lovers romance. There is something so special about two people who have known each other most of their lives and then eventually fall in love. The love feels very genuine because it's already been established. I loved watching these characters become unraveled in each other arms. And watching Abigale discover what she wanted all along was right in front of her, if she just only opened her eyes and looked. So, despite my disbelief Zach went so long without confessing his feelings, I thought this story was quite enjoyable.
Wife in Name Only Zoe had made her home on a Tongan island, would Rory leave his jet-setting high profile life in LA and settle on the island? Or would Zoe leave her island paradise to go and live with him in LA? After all Zoe had secrets she hadn't told him. WIFE IN NAME ONLY is a sizzling romance set in an island paradise. It is fast-paced and feel-good story that sparkles with red-hot sensuality, mesmerizing emotion and intense passion. Hayson Manning, a new to me author, brings this story filled with intrigue, danger and thrill as well.

When the Elephants Dance This book has everything. The author, however, has been criticized for getting distances between places confused and for misspelling Tagalog words. As an American, however, I was not aware of these small details. I was totally caught up in the story and found myself thinking about the characters long after I put the book down for the day. This is a simply wonderful book and I highly recommend it.
Wicked Girls: A Novel of the Salem Witch Trials Readers interested in this era of our history will find the book a unique presentation of the topic. Even if history is not a reader's area of interest, the story is still a fascinating one. Written in verse that alternates from one girl to the next, WICKED GIRLS presents the events of a year in a small village and the amazing craziness that will forever be known as the Salem Witch Trials.
What Is Left the Daughter The plot really takes off when the daughter brings home a young German student whose family fled to Denmark to escape the Nazis. Despite this, he is looked upon as a potential enemy by almost everyone in the small town where the action takes place. His arrival sets off a chain of events that is both tragic and heartfelt. To say more would be to ruin the book for potential readers.
Unraveling (Second Chances) Katy Spencer’s life fell apart two years ago. Since then, she’s closed herself off. She’s a shell of the person she used to be. The only person she trusts is her best friend Rollo, but even he can’t keep the nightmares away. Then she meets Jared. He’s the first man she’s been around since the event that she’s not afraid of. He makes her heart race, not in fear, but in a fluttering that could become something meaningful.
This Is What Happy Looks Like I think another way to put this book is a YA love story that isn't cheesy, but instead well done. It's not a great surprise, there are not events that you are shocked to read. But what it is a an adventure over the summer, a story told from both characters point of view that allows the reader to be engulfed in the ups and downs of this short but deep relationship.

The Rising I really like Kelley Armstrong's writing style. The way she ended this book has to be my most favorite of all time. Be sure to read her Darkest Powers series with this series.
The Pretty One: A Novel about Sisters A quick read that drew my attention because I have a sister - the ending was a bit predictable but I enjoyed it and would recommend...
The Pickup With technique that is nothing short of brilliant, Gordimer renders a tale of rejection of values from all sides. The man is rejecting the values of his homeland, and the woman is doing likewise, but neither knows truly what they seek at the end of their journey. The interplay of cross-cultural interaction is deeply conveyed within the text. The richness of communication, between people who speak more non-verbally, than with words is portrayed with particular alacrity. Many of the deepest thought processes are left for the reader to understand by inference. And the solutions to problems in the journey are particularly uniquely resolved. The book is truly a modern day piece of literature.
The Honey Witch (Dark Fantasy & Supernatural Suspense) The Evangeline Heresy is something rare in novels that deal with the supernatural these days in that it is wholly unique. For starters, it is a quiet novel. One that allows you to get lost in the atmosphere of the narrative while at the same time it propels you to its conclusion.
The Gathering of the Lost: The Wall of Night Book Two I think it's great that Helen Lowe has managed to write a different kind of a fantasy adventure. Usually fantasy adventures are quests and the authors tend to concentrate on telling what the characters do instead of what's happening to them. Helen Lowe writes about characters in a different way, because she cares about her characters and shows how they grow as persons. The inner struggles of her characters add layers of depth to the storyline.

The Golden Egg (Commissario Guido Brunetti) The pace in this story has the leisurely pace of an Italian meal, as Brunetti and his team use conversation and internet research to detect the relationships and motives of the players involved. Forensics is only an aid. Brunetti travels all over Venice, and you travel with him, as he talks to the people who surround his investigations. You see the beauty and sublimity of Venice through his eyes.
The Gentle Art of Cracking Heads Okay, so i'm definitely enjoying these episodes - humour, wit, intrigue, mystery, and the odd piece of action. This is a very good episode, well paced delivery, a good balance between coincidence and paranoia, and a character I really enjoyed reading about. The episode on its own is a four - five star episode, and while it does add to the overall story, i cant help but feel like there's something missing
The Exceptions The violence, while gruesome in detail, is required to make it clear how psychopathic this group is, the depth of their greed and manipulation. There is only one goal set regardless of whom it affects and obtaining it is the only means to a successful end.
The Dressmaker of Khair Khana: Five Sisters, One Remarkable Family, and the Woman Who Risked Everything to Keep Them Safe This is a riveting story of the power of determination and hope that can stem from nothing other than the power of love and family. The author shines with her execution of talented writing, a believable and endearing heroine readers won't ever forget, and a message for us all to never give up no matter how much the odds of winning seam dim. The Dressmaker of Khair Khana is surely one for the reading discussion groups and I highly recommend putting this on the top of your reading pile. Fabulous!
The Conservationist Gordimer finds him at a time in his life when he is middle-aged and living alone, no longer married, his grown son estranged from him, and his mistress not all that endeared to him. While money, property, and influence keep him at a safe distance from the political troubles slowly encroaching on his private world, Gordimer reveals his physical and emotional isolation. His defense is to cut his losses and retreat even farther into his solitary world. It's a fascinating, well-written character study.

The Boy from Reactor 4 The action sequences were a particularly fun and suspenseful ride. The final sequence is fantastic - I couldn't read it fast enough! Stelmach has a wholly original voice, and one that will keep me coming back for future installments. Great book!
The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After is such a spectacular companion to this series. I wish I had the time to reread each book and follow them with its second epilogue. Still, even though it's been some time since I read the books, it was great to revisit and 'catch up' with all of the Bridgertons. Oh, and I also adored the small forwards before each story from Miz Quinn. I loved reading her thoughts, a few fun little tidbits about each character, their story, and why she decided to write that particular second epilogue.
Surrender: A Section 8 Novel The book is chock full of suspense, mystery, intrigue, action and romance, and is written so superbly you will be turning pages frantically and swearing under your breath when you're forced to take a break.
Sunshine I am not usually a fan of first person storytelling, but Sunshine is full of wry wit and a self-deprecatingly quirky combination of realism, independence, and fancy. I applaud the author for going in a new (if slightly Buffyesque) direction.
Starting Now: A Blossom Street Novel Libby is involved in caring for the premies and helping one of the girls thru a very difficult period and gets to know Dr. Stone much better. Miss Macomber has showed us that we can change the patterns we have been living with and that things can turn out for the better. This story gives us hope that starting over is possible and sometimes may be the best thing for us.

River of Stars Fans of historical fantasy, beautiful writing, and wonderful characters. People who have enjoyed the works of Brandon Sanderson and Neil Gaiman will probably like River of Stars as well.
Rising Darkness (A Game of Shadows Novel) Be aware that this book does not have a finite ending. Think of it more as the opening salvo in war between the good guys and the bad. The story is clearly just beginning. And we still have a lot to learn, especially about our villain and the mysterious grandmother. Now that I think I have a firm grip on the worldbuilding, I think book two will be a lot easier to jump into. It's a shame I have to wait until 2014 to see what happens next.
Portal (Boundary) Madeline Fathom had miraculously landed the crippled Nebula Storm on Europa. She joined on that frozen moon of Jupiter the stranded crewmembers of the ill-fated EU vessel Odin. The Nebula Storm's reactor was ruined in the landing, the Odin’s shuttle can’t make the trip back home, and the only vessel that could have make the journey to save them has just been destroyed by a renegade crewman, bad luck, and the remorseless forces of nature.
Rise: An Eve Novel Wow, there is so much excitement and action in the conclusion to this trilogy. I love how Eve has grown and fights for others. In her dystopian world, death is a daily occurrence and just surviving another day is miraculous. Clara also develops into a whole character here as well and I found I really liked her. I did not see this ending coming, not be a long shot. I was so happy it ended this way but I would still like get a bit more detail on the aftermath. Sorry, no clues there about the actual ending.
No Way Back I'll give FOUR STARS to NO WAY BACK. If you're looking for a well-written, fast-paced book that'll kill a few hours enjoyably, NO WAY BACK might be the ticket! While there's nothing truly outstanding, it will hold your attention and provide some exciting, albeit mindless, entertainment. Lots of thrills and spills. Just don't overthink it!

Nautier and Wilder I love Lora Leigh's Nauty books. She has a good plot to the story and she also shows how the man takes control whether you want to give in or not.
Murder Below Montparnasse (Aimee Leduc Investigation) Another fun jaunt through unexpected corners of Paris with Aimee Leduc and her quirky companions, solving another murder. Love it, as always.
My Life After Now Lucy just had the worst week ever. Seriously, mega bad. And suddenly, it's all too much she wants out. Out of her house, out of her head, out of her life. She wants to be a whole new Lucy. So she does something the old Lucy would never dream of.
Mortals This is a book that stays with you. It is both an education and a pleasure. I highly recommend it as a wonderful summer read!
Mouse (A Psychological Thriller and Murder-Mystery) As soon as you think you have figured it all out, you will be surprised to know you haven't this book was amazing and made me want to keep reading it. If you have the chance. Read this book.

Misery Loves Cabernet is a fabulous, wonderful, witty and charming book.I absolutely loved Charlie and all her friends. Charlie and her friends need to have their own television series. I would definitely watch it.
Magick Book three in the Coven series. Magick is a great conclusions to the series. With the dark witches closing in, Jax must banish the darkness inside her and become a true white witch if she is to have any hope of defeating them.
The Lost Boy I have always enjoyed this author, this book is a continued story around Patrck Hedstrom and Erica Falck. Again this was eminently readable nod enjoyable. If you have read Camilla Lackberg before you won't be disappointed with this book.
There Was an Old Woman: A Novel of Suspense Somehow, Ephron has plumbed the dark recesses of the mind of an elderly woman named Mina Yetner. Independent still at ninety-one, and living in a small New York City neighborhood on the edge of a salt marsh, she's sound of mind
if physically frail and she's determined to live out her life as she has always done, to the very end. Mina is a wonderful fresh character and readers shouldn't be surprised if her voice comes, unbidden to mind while they turn the pages
The Torturer's Daughter Cannon is a top-notch writer. Her dystopian world is horrifyingly real, and the plot is fast-paced and keeps the reader guessing. Her characters are well rounded and very believable. While we know who the good guys and the bad guys are throughout the book, the lines definitely blur along the way. I ended up sympathizing with characters I really didn't want to sympathize with.

The House of the Wicked (A Psychological Thriller Combining Mystery, Murder, Crime and Suspense) The twists and turns are completely unexpected and by the time I got half way through the book I felt like I'd lived in Porthgarrow and knew all the people. It was captivating and I just didn't want it to end.
The Godling Chronicles: The Shadow of Gods This is just as good as first. the pacing was great, the characters grew and the plot thickened. The technical issues mentioned in other review have been fixed so please dont let that one stop you from picking up this series
The Fantasy The Fantasy is a short story that caught me by surprise. It starts with a great set up of the characters and their relationship. This lead me to sympathizing with Charles and Jennifer's situation and need for a little spice in their marriage.
The Back Road When a young girl, Abbie Campbell, is knocked over and left for dead on the back road of the village of Little Melham, waves of shock ripple through the small community and a chain of events, which threatens to expose long-kept secrets, is triggered.
Tethered (Novella): The Further Adventures of Archimedes Fox and Captain Corsair Another brilliant piece of writing by Meljean Brook. This time we get a novella starring Archimedes Fox and Yasmeen, Lady Corsair, now his wife. They are tricked into a journey/adventure by an old friend of Archimedes's. As always, the characters are finely drawn, believable and complex. The sexual tension between Archimedes and Yasmeen is delicious, and so hot.

Something About Sophie McComas moves the plot along at a nice pace, passing along clues and information to keep your attention. I didn't feel any nail-biting tension, however. It is not a dark novel, despite the deaths and intrigue, although a final revelation is quite sad. Additionally, it is clear that everything will turn out good in the end so the novel is really just about the journey.
Sinister Kisses
This may well be the darkest, edgiest book that I have ever read. To say it was a thriller would be an understatement. This is most certainly NOT your typical romance, so toss out all your preconceived notions. Don't expect the hero to be a white knight. Don't expect the heroine to be an un-tamable hellion. And certainly don't expect a typical HEA.
Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle The characters vary in their likableness. The reader will most likely enjoy Tahra's character, she is both smart and sweet however, the reader will not find Max's character nearly as palatable. The plot is unusual, different, and in part, pure science fiction. The reader may have to reread several passages in the book to make absolutely sure he/she understands the concepts acknowledged in the book. This book was a quick read for containing so many chapters, the book would be great for young adult/adult readers who enjoy science fiction with a hint of romance.
Shadowed In all, Sarah Alderson amazes me once again and Shadowed is nothing short of amazing! If you haven't read this series, then I highly suggest you do, you need to visit this wonderful and exciting world.
Secret Reflection (Escape Paranormal Romance)
Kelly Reid doesn't believe in ghosts, even when one appears in front of her. She’s sure the man in her bedroom mirror is a hoax, all she has to do is prove it. But it’s hard to concentrate on hidden cameras and tiny microphones when he seems so real, so engaging, so sad.

Red Planet Blues Red Planet Blues takes classic Sawyer with his spin on consciousness and what it means to be a 'person' and then weaves it into a cool Martian setting with a classic and authentic noir bubble encompassing the entire book. I just love it. Well worth the wait.
Red Leaves and the Living Token (Volume 1) Red Leaves is an amazing tale of a young boy (Emret) full of determination and charisma. The story is superbly written by Author Ben Burell, as it carefully takes you on an exciting journey full of struggle, conflict and enlightenment. Mr. Burell's characters are full of life and personality, which resonates brilliantly throughout the story. The epic journey of Emret carefully unfolds page by page, leaving you amazed and entertained. A must read for young adults and the young at heart.
Realms: The First Year of Clarkesworld Magazine Good stories, for the most part, but I had not realized how humble Clarkesworld had started. These don't have the quality of the later stories that Neil published maybe they weren't paying as well back then? I was particularly thrown by the tone of the first few stories: there's a lot more of the young-white-male masturbatory fantasy style of sci-fi that is so over done than I would have expected.
Realms 2: The Second Year of Clarkesworld Magazine Selected from the Hugo award-nominated Clarkesworld Magazine, Realms collects the work of twenty-five visionary writers of short fiction, including such World Fantasy, Philip K. Dick, Tiptree, Hugo, and Campbell Award winners and finalists as Jeffrey Ford, Mary Robinette Kowal, Jay Lake, Cat Rambo, Tim Pratt, Robert Reed, Mike Resnick, and Catherynne M. Valente - and amazing stories from up-and-comers like Karen Heuler, Paul Jessup, Yoon Ha Lee, Margaret Ronald, and many more!
Raven Cursed: A Jane Yellowrock Novel
There is a truckload of action in this book and that suited me just fine. The personal relationship may move slower, but it is quite clear that Hunter is looking at slowly and surely developing this across the series. I have always enjoyed her writing and I found this book terrific.

Raising Wrecker I loved the realistic look at life as a hippie in the 60's and on. If only all children in such unfortunate circumstances, could find their way into a family with so much love and devotion. I use the term family loosely, but that it what this group of misfits become to poor little Wrecker.
Primal I was absolutely floored by this thriller. D.A. Serra put real characters into a situation that could actually happen and plays it out with the raw ferocity that would actually be there. If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. Make sure you start this book early otherwise you're going to be up way past your bedtime.
Poolside (Sexy Sides #1) I bought Curb Side first and really enjoyed it so I had to purchase the other two stories in the series. Jake and Emma's love for one another really adds something to these stories. They aren't just sex for sex's sake. They're an expression of their love for one another so that makes the love scenes even hotter for me.
Once: An Eve Novel Overall, I enjoyed the book. It wasn't a drastic page turner that I felt that I had to keep going. But it was enjoyable. If you have read Eve than you'll want to read Once. If you like dystopian teen romance novels, than you'll love this book. If you prefer action and suspense you might want to borrow it first or read a couple of sample chapters online.
Nameless: A Tale of Beauty and Madness Nameless was a fantastic read and I loved being in the world that Lili created. She puts just enough details into the story so that you can imagine yourself there!! It may have been based off of Snow White but I thought it was a unique book and it was written beautifully! I look forward to future books in this series by this amazing author! Well done Lili!!

My Brother's Keeper: A Novel of Mystery Ex-con Karen needs Diane?s help to track down her fourteen-year-old daughter, Sunny, who she?s lost contact with while she?s been in prison. To Diane, this appears at first glance to be a simple case of a mother wanting to reunite with a beloved daughter. But she soon learns that while Sunny miraculously survived her mother?s attempt to kill her, little brother Oliver was not so lucky. Tracking the girl down is easy. However, convincing her to meet the woman who tried to kill her is no easy task. And at the back of Diane?s mind is a nagging thought - that guilt and innocence aren?t straightforward and nothing is quite what it seems. Does Karen really want to fix the wrongs of the past or is there something darker at play here that will take all of Diane?s skills to uncover?
Moon Underfoot (A Jake Crosby Thriller) This is the second Bobby Cole book I have read. This one was even more entertaining than the last one. It's fun to read and recognize places he mentions in the book.
Miles of Pleasure Kaylee Miles works as an assistant to her brother's band, Miles of Pleasure. Ashton, the hard living lead singer, is intrigued by her, but they don't get along. This situation changes when he must come to Kaylee's rescue and prove his bravery. As Kaylee joins the band on the road, she is forced to make some life-changing decisions. Could one of them involve Ashton?
Masked The book provides a wide range of hero/villain stories that are atypical. While the book does include the typical tights and cape story, the best stories are the ones that are a little different. My personal favorite short story in the collection is Downfall.
Magical Monty First grade is almost over, and Monty will soon be seven. He’s now a big brother, too, which makes him feel very grown-up. But when he tries to use the magic set his grandmother gave him, he has a little trouble. Maybe the card trick would work if he were eight years old? Mother’s Day is coming, and Monty wishes he had something better to give his mom than the picture frame he made out of ice-cream sticks at school.

Knotted Roots I laughed, cried, and even cheered at times during reading this. One of my favorite lines is "Warning: This girl sucks as a friend, has mind sex in a field, and giggles at inappropriate times." The description of some of the kisses in this book had my toes tingling as though I was being kissed myself! This author paints an amazing picture in your head. As with any awesome book, my only complaint is that it ended. As soon as I saw the words 'The End' I felt sad. The author deserves every bit of 5 stars for this book...Fantastic debut novel!!
Joshua Dread The descriptions of Joshua's home life were creative and laugh-out-loud funny. His mom (aka, the Botanist), who has the power to control plants with her mind, keeps zombies in the basement and has invented a mutant ficus (named Micus) that seems to have a grudge against Joshua. His Dad (aka, Dr. Dread) scatters his half-finished inventions around the house and advises Joshua about how to deal with bullies.
Jacob's Folly JACOB'S FOLLY is a challenging book in the very best sense. It's multifaceted, wickedly funny, quite moving. It's wonderful to follow its threads get woven together beautifully. An odd delight, a highly recommend.
Into the Dark (The Dark Trilogy Book 2) (Volume 2) The pace of this story is even better than book one, which could get a bit jumbled at times, and keeps you turning the pages. This is a Library7 of the Living Dead Press book that deserves to carry the banner in the forefront.
Into That Forest This is a beautifully written book and an engaging story. Nowra creates a unique voice with which to narrate the tale of two girls who become the 'cubs' of a pair of Tasmania tigers after losing their parents. It's not your typical YA novel dealing with teen issues. I'd liken it to Mark Haddon's 'Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime' in the sense that the only reason it seems to have been categorised YA is that it has young people as protagonists. I would highly recommend it for both teens and adults.

Impostor As Vee finds herself in stranger and stranger situations with no memory of getting there, she begins to suspect that someone else she knows has the ability to slide.
Humanity Gone: After the Plague (Volume 1) I loved this book. It was really easy to read. It was written so that both young adults and adults will thoroughly enjoy it. Each chapter leaves you wanting to read more. I can not wait for the second book of the series to come out. The end of this first one really left me on edge!
How to Be a Good Wife
On the surface the book is a highly competent chiller, but beneath, like a silent, bolted . . . room, there’s a much bigger story about the nature of feminine experience. An accomplished debut.
Holy Water If you've been looking for Kurt Vonnegut's successor, look no further. James P. Othmer has picked up the master satirist's torch and taken off running with it. The moment you meet Henry Tuhoe, Vice President of Underarm Research, you know you've entered a world that is at once wildly absurd and frighteningly credible. If ever there was a novel for these troubled and bizarre times, this is it. What The Futurist predicted, Holy Water confirms: Mr. Othmer is on the brink of a major career. So it goes.
Fractured: A Slated Novel, Book 2 Perfect for fans of the dystopian settings of The Hunger Games and Divergent, the gripping second installment of the Slated trilogy is a riveting psychological thriller set in a future where violent teens have their memory erased as an alternative to jail.

Fish Out of Water (Escape Fantasy Romance) Fish Out Of Water combined a couple of my favorite genres into one novel, which I thought was fantastic. It's nice to get the best of all worlds! The author did a nice job of introducing us to these interesting characters and intense plot, and I'm excited to find out what happens next. Oh, and I would just like to take a second to say how much I love the cover. So gorgeous!
Electing to Murder - Thriller (McRyan Mystery Series) This book is solid and well written, well edited with memorable engaging characters. This book could certainly and easily be read as a stand alone title but some of the fun comes from getting to know the main characters over time and of course none of the books disappoint.
Deeply Odd (Odd Thomas) This is just another light hearted dark comedy in the "Odd Thomas" series from the pen of Dean Koontz. It doesn't take itself seriously and in that respect is a fun read. Enjoy.
Dark Star This book I found disturbingly real with some toe curling moments and although the writer's graphic discription of some events shocked me, I felt compelled to read on. It is a very well written story of a disfunctional family's coping with hate and love and it kept me enthralled to the end.
Dark Grid: When the Lights Go Out...Permanently After reading tons of prepper books I have to give this one credit. It has a story and characters you begin to care about. I was so interested that I bought the followups and enjoyed them all.

Clarkesworld: Year Three (Clarkesworld Anthology) (Volume 3)
Selected from the Hugo award-winning Clarkesworld Magazine, this anthology collects the work of twenty-seven visionary writers of short fiction, including such World Fantasy, Philip K. Dick, Tiptree, Hugo, and Campbell Award winners and finalists as Jay Lake, Nnedi Okorafor, Robert Reed, Sarah Monette, Mike Resnick, Lavie Tidhar, N.K. Jemisin and Catherynne M. Valente.
Castro's Daughter (Kirk Mcgarvey) As the Cuban government unravels, Leon has to use every means at her disposal just to find the elusive McGarvey, all the while fending off men in her own Operations Division who want her job or her death. In desperation, Leon kidnaps McGarvey’s closest friend, Otto Rencke, to force McGarvey's hand. Mac's meeting with Leon launches the most bizarre mission of his entire career that takes him from Cuba to Mexico City, to Spain and finally to an ancient site in New Mexico that the Spanish conquistadors called the Jornada del muerto the Journey of Death.
Bad Games: A Novel (A Dark Psychological Thriller) I enjoyed this novel a lot. It was a very dark and creepy thriller with lots of suspense that kept you wanting to read "just one more chapter." I was impressed with the character development. The villains were very creepy, and the family was likable and genuine. I really liked the wife Amy and found myself cheering for some of here heroics towards the end of the book. Those who read the book will know what I mean! The novel also contains the first chapter of the sequel and after reading the first chapter I will definitely be buying. A good book for thriller and suspense fans!!
Avenger (A Halflings Novel) I loved this book. I eagerly anticipated this book and it did not disappoint! Nikki is back and different. With all she has been through with Vessler, Mace and Raven, she doesn't feel like the same person she once was. She has chosen Mace, or at least that is what she thinks until Raven shows up and whisks her away. Both of them love her, Vessler needs her and the Throne has plans for her.
Asteria - In Love with the Prince Wow this book is smoking hot! The whole life in Asteria is intriguing in itself. Lucy and the Prince have lots of up's and downs and towards the end it's action packed. Lucy the librarian turns out to be a BA and really takes the Prince down a notch, which he is grateful for. I can't say enough about this book but you won't be disappointed. Lots of hot juicy sex and a fabulous ending!!

A Visit from the Goon Squad Her prose is truly a pleasure to read, no matter how absurd or at times unpleasant the subject matter. Egan's pointillistic novel roams from the New York music scene to an African safari from the affluent suburbs to life on the edge in Naples, Italy from a dictator's palace to our collective future. And in careening from place to place, time to time, and character to character in these linked lives, Jennifer Egan takes us from point A to point B.
A War of Gifts: An Ender Story (Ender Wiggin Saga) I wouldn't recommend the book if you haven't read Ender's Game, as many of the subtleties will be lost. (There's an early chapter, for example, featuring Ender's older brother that really has nothing to do with the plot of A War of Gifts, but is highly telling if you've read the other books in the series.) If you are a fan of Card, though, this is a very strong Christmas tale definitely belongs on your bookshelf. Don't worry. At 128 pages, it won't take up much room.
A Touch of Crimson: A Renegade Angels Novel Enjoyed the book very much. Very entertaining especially if you like to read about angels, vampires, and werewolves. Lots of sex.
A Song for Bijou Life for Alex Schrader has never involved girls. He goes to an all-boys prep school and spends most of his time goofing around with his friends. But all that changes the first time he meets Bijou Doucet, a Haitian girl recently relocated to Brooklyn after the earthquake-and he is determined to win her heart. For Bijou, change is the only constant, and she's surprised every day by how different life is in America, especially when a boy asks her out. Alex quickly learns that there are rules when it comes to girls-both in Haitian culture and with his own friends. And Bijou soon learns that she doesn't have to let go of her roots to find joy in her new life.
A Mischief in the Woodwork When I started reading this book, I found it quite confusing. But the more I read, the more I found myself being drawn in and drawn o the world. This post-apocalyptic landscape is unforgiving and confusing, filled with decay and constant shifting. We finally start to understand how and why this has happened, and see the people start to live and not simply survive.

A Man in Full I give this book 4 stars because it was a satisfying journey with some enjoyable characters. I was frustrated a few times by how what was important in life was so obvious yet Charlie Croker never did quite get it. His good ole boy attitude was amusing at times but amazingly ridiculous at others. It was sometimes appalling how attached he was to appearances and his possessions.
17 & Gone Beautifully written, creepy and an unsuspected ending makes this one a must-read for mystery fans. What I loved most was that at first glance, it appears to fit into a certain genre and then it is turned on its head with the twist at the end. Definitely check this one out for the writing alone.

As a result, they are afflicted with health problems ranging from minor skin irritations, chronic fatigue, back pain, and depression to arthritis, ulcers, and osteoporosis. To enjoy optimum health, the body needs balanced quantities of alkaline and acid substances. In The Acid-Alkaline Diet for Optimum Health, naturopath and detoxification expert Christopher Vasey shows how a simple change in diet to restore your acid-alkaline balance can result in vast improvements in health. With two new chapters, this updated and expanded second edition provides the latest information on proper hydration and deacidification, important alkalizing supplements, and how to eliminate the body’s accumulated acids through intestinal cleansing. It also includes a new, detailed example of an alkaline detoxifying diet. Rather than organizing alkaline and acid foods based on their chemical composition, Vasey categorizes foods by their effect on the body, explaining that some foods, such as fruits, can have either an alkalizing or an acidifying effect, depending on who eats them. He describes how to determine your acid levels and how to design a diet best suited for your particular health needs.

Such was the case for Emily Ford, who shares her firsthand experiences in these pages. Emily's true story of fear, struggle, and ultimate triumph is sure to resonate with other socially anxious teenagers and young adults. Emily's frank, often witty, sometimes poignant account of how she negotiated all the obstacles of social anxiety--and eventually overcame them with the help of therapy and hard work--makes for compelling reading. Yet this book is more than just a memoir. Emily's story is coupled with the latest medical and scientific information about the causes, diagnosis, treatment, and self-management of social anxiety disorder (or SAD). Readers will find a wealth of solid advice and genuine inspiration here. In engaging, accessible language--and with the help of psychiatrist Michael Liebowitz--she discusses what is known and not known about social anxiety disorder in adolescents. She outlines the various psychotherapies available for those with SAD and explains how to seek professional help, how to talk to family and friends about the illness, and how to handle difficult social situations. The result is both an absorbing story and a useful guide that will help to ease the isolation caused by SAD, encouraging young people to believe that, with commitment and hard work, they can overcome this illness. Part of the Adolescent Mental Health Initiative series of books written specifically for teens and young adults, What You Must Think of Me will also be a valuable resource for friends and family of those with SAD. It offers much-needed hope to young people, helping them to overcome this illness and lead healthy, productive lives.

All the Pope's Men: The Inside Story of How the Vatican Really Thinks ISBN: 0385509669 | 2004 | EPUB | 400 pages | 876 KB A fascinating and enlightening look at the world’s oldest and most mysterious institution, written by an American journalist with unparalleled knowledge about the Vatican's past and present. The sexual abuse scandals that shook American and British Catholicism in 2002 brought to light a long-standing cultural gap between the English-speaking Catholic world and the Vatican. In Rome, the crisis was often seen as an attack on the Church mounted by money-hungry lawyers, a hostile press, and liberal activists who used it as a way to turn attention on such concerns as celibacy, women’s ordination, and lay empowerment. When the Vatican struck down the U.S. bishops’ draft for handling allegations of sexual abuse, many saw it as an attempt to curb an independent American Catholic church. Yet, as time passed, it became clear that the Vatican’s well-founded concerns about due process were shared by most liberal U.S. bishops and canon lawyers.
ALL THE POPE’S MEN is a lucid, in-depth guide to the sometimes puzzling, often incomprehensible inner workings of the Vatican. It reveals how decisions are made, how papal bureaucrats think, and how careers in the Roman Curia are shaped. It debunks the myths that have fed the distrust and suspicions many English-speaking Catholics harbor about the way the Vatican conducts its business, explains who really wields the power, and offers entertaining profiles of the personalities, historical and present-day, who have wielded that power for good and for bad. A thoughtful analysis of the recent sexual abuse crisis sheds light on how the Vatican perceives the Church in the United States. Balanced, lively, and filled with Vatican history and lore, ALL THE POPE’S MEN provides the general reader with an authoritative picture of the highly charged relationship between the Vatican and the richest, most influential national Catholic church in the world today.

What was it like to live during the time of Jesus? Where did people live? Who did they marry? And what was family life like? How did people survive? These are just some of the questions that Scott Korb answers in this engaging new book, which explores what everyday life entailed two thousand years ago in first-century Palestine, that tumultuous era when the Roman Empire was at its zenith and a new religion-Christianity-was born. Culling information from primary sources, scholarly research, and his own travels and observations, Korb explores the nitty-gritty of real life back then-from how people fed, housed, and groomed themselves to how they kept themselves healthy. He guides the contemporary reader through the maze of customs and traditions that dictated life under the numerous groups, tribes, and peoples in the eastern Mediterranean that Rome governed two thousand years ago, and he illuminates the intriguing details of marriage, family life, health, and a host of other aspects of first-century life. The result is a book for everyone, from the armchair traveler to the amateur historian. Discover Your Soul Template: 14 Steps for Awakening Integrated Intelligence ISBN: 1594774269 | 2012 | EPUB/MOBI | 320 pages | 998 KB/1 MB How to create the life you want in alignment with your soul’s purpose • Reveal your soul aptitudes, limiting behaviors, and past-life karmic issues • Discover 14 easy-to-use spiritual tools to strengthen your intuition to profound levels and develop an inner source of guidance and wisdom for any situation • Learn why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for most people and how to make it work for you Like an enlightened spiritual teacher, you, too, can tap in to the infinite wisdom of the cosmos to create a life of deep meaning and purpose. The key is integrated intelligence--your innate capacity, often experienced as “intuition,” to instantly draw upon knowledge beyond the confines of the five senses, from past, present, and future. Integrated intelligence enables not only a connection to the wisdom of the universe but also access to your soul template, revealing your self-limiting behaviors, karmic issues from past lives, and soul aptitudes--the abilities at which you excel. With knowledge of your soul template, you can successfully create the life you were meant to live in alignment with your soul’s purpose. Providing 14 easy-to-use spiritual tools to activate your integrated intelligence, Marcus Anthony shows you how to tap in to the wisdom of your soul template, distinguish the voice of ego from the voice of your inner sage, and strengthen your intuition to profound levels, thereby developing a trusted inner source of guidance. Explaining how the mind is not a shallow pond but an ocean of competing voices and energies, he reveals why the Law of Attraction doesn’t work for most people: any vision you attempt to manifest must be aligned with your soul template or the competing voices will act against it. Revealing how to bring the mind into presence to get “the secret” to work for you, Anthony shows how to use integrated intelligence to identify and live your true calling and create the life you want while fulfilling the deeper needs of your spirit.

Pilates on the Ball: The World's Most Popular Workout Using the Exercise Ball English | ISBN: 0892819812 | 2001 | EPUB | 192 pages | 3,9 MB A unique and exciting synthesis of two highly acclaimed fitness techniques: Pilates Method and the Swiss exercise ball. • Non-impact Pilates exercises on the ball can be adapted for all levels of ability, from fitness trainers and weekend athletes to those healing from injury or chronic back pain. • Shows how to practice Pilates techniques without expensive equipment. • Profusely illustrated with black-and-white photographs for maximal learning. The Pilates Method of body conditioning is a highly effective workout technique that strengthens the body while engaging the mind. Developed in the early twentieth century by accomplished boxer and gymnast Joseph Pilates, the Pilates Method aligns the body; builds long, lean muscles; and develops core abdominal strength. Many lifestyle and fitness magazines have named Pilates the hottest workout of the decade. In a first-of-its-kind fusion, Pilates on the Ball merges the principles and exercises of the highly effective Pilates Method of body conditioning with the unique functions of the exercise ball, used by Olympic coaches, dancers, and athletes to fine-tune body awareness and enhance physical performance. The ball magnifies the benefits of the carefully developed and refined Pilates Method. Because maintaining balance on the ball recruits the deep, stabilizing muscles of the spine, the postural muscles are strengthened. The ball intensifies athletic performance by increasing resistance and heightening awareness of how the body moves in space. Chapters detail the Pilates principles step by step, with successive movements to challenge all levels of ability and "watch points" for careful evaluation of your form. Intense enough to engage seasoned athletes yet accessible enough to use as an everyday exercise routine or to alleviate chronic pain, Pilates on the Ball builds strong bodies and engaged minds.
Abs on the Ball: A Pilates Approach to Building Superb Abdominals
English | ISBN: 089281098X | 2003 | EPUB | 192 pages | 14,3 MB Innovative abdominal exercises to help tone the abdomen, improve posture, and build a strong back using the Swiss exercise ball. * Offers a 10-minute and 20-minute workout for all levels of fitness. * Shows how the mobility of the ball targets underutilized muscles. * Shows how traditional sit-ups and "ab" machines limit how much abdominal muscles can be trained and also aggravate lower back pain and neck tension. The exercise ball has long been recommended by doctors, physical therapists, and Olympic coaches for people suffering from back pain. Now Colleen Craig, author of the bestselling book Pilates on the Ball, reveals why the exercise ball is unmatched as a tool for building superb abdominal strength. She presents a selection of over 80 innovative exercises, including some of the key powerhouse-builders from the Pilates Method, all of which she has adapted specifically to the ball. Craig shows how traditional sit-ups and "ab" machines actually limit the degree to which abdominal muscles can be trained and can even aggravate lower back pain and neck tension. In contrast, the very mobility of the ball targets underutilized muscles, recruiting both deep and superficial abdominal muscle fibers to enhance results. Abs on the Ball includes exercises for all ability levels that show how to properly use the breath and how to activate the correct muscles during a workout--from the core exercises of the Waterfall, Oblique Curls, and Full Abdominal Curls to the more advanced Side Twist Plank, the Teaser, and Backward Crunch. The author also offers a 10- and 20minute workout designed not only to build the abdominal core, but also to strengthen and train deep muscles in the back and hip in order to soothe lower back pain and increase overall body strength, balance, and coordination.

Invisible Romans: Prostitutes, Outlaws, Slaves, Gladiators, Ordinary Men and Women...the Romans That History Forgot ISBN: 1846684013 | 2011 | MOBI | 394 pages | 5 MB Robert Knapp seeks out the ordinary people who formed the fabric of everyday life in ancient Rome and the outlaws and pirates who lay beyond it. They are the housewives, prostitutes, freedmen, slaves, soldiers, and gladiators who lived commonplace lives and left almost no trace in history - until now. But their words are preserved in literature,
letters, inscriptions and graffiti and their traces can be found in the histories, treatises, plays and poetry created by the elite. A world lost from view for two millennia is recreated through these, and other, tell-tale bits of evidence cast off by the visible mass of Roman history and culture. Invisible Romans reveals how everyday Romans sought to survive and thrive under the afflictions of disease, war, and violence, and to control their fates under powers that both oppressed and ignored them. Drawing on evidence from a wide variety of sources, Nicholl creates a compellingly detailed account of the circumstances in which Shakespeare lived and worked amid the bustle of early seventeenth-century London. This elegant, often unexpected exploration presents a new and original look at Shakespeare as he was writing such masterpieces as Othello, Measure for Measure, and King Lear.

Faberge's Eggs: The Extraordinary Story of the Masterpieces That Outlived an Empire 2008 | 320 Pages | ISBN: 140006550X | PDF | 5 MB In Stradivari’s Genius, Toby Faber charted the fascinating course of some of the world’s most prized musical instruments. Now, in this enthralling new book, he tells the story of objects that are, to many, the pinnacle of the jeweler’s art: the Fabergé imperial eggs. The Easter presents that Russia’s last two czars gave to their czarinas have become synonymous with privilege, beauty, and an almost provocative uselessness. They are perhaps the most redolent symbols of the old empire’s phenomenal craftsmanship, of the decadence of its court, and of the upheavals that brought about its inevitable downfall. Fabergé’s Eggs is the first book to recount the remarkable story of these masterpieces, taking us from the circumstances that inspired each egg’s design, through their disappearance in the trauma of revolution, to their eventual reemergence in the global marketplace. In 1885, Carl Fabergé created a seemingly plain white egg for Czar Alexander III to give to his beloved wife, Marie Fedorovna. It was the surprises hidden inside that made it special: a diamond miniature of the Imperial crown and a ruby pendant. This gift began a tradition that would last for more than three decades: lavishly extravagant eggs commemorating public events that, in retrospect, seem little more than staging posts on the march to revolution. Above all, the eggs illustrate the attitudes that would ultimately lead to the downfall of the Romanovs: their apparent indifference to the poverty that choked their country, their preference for style over substance, and, during the reign of Nicholas II, their all-consuming concern with the health of the czarevitch Alexis, the sickly heir to the throne–a preoccupation that would propel them toward Rasputin and the doom of the dynasty. More than a superb new account of a classic tragedy, Fabergé’s Eggs illuminates some fascinating aspects of twentieth-century history. The eggs’ amazing journey from revolutionary Russia features a cast of characters including embattled Bolsheviks, acquisitive British royals, eccentric artifact salesmen, and such famous business and society figures as Arm and Hammer, Marjorie Merriweather Post, and Malcolm Forbes. Finally, Toby Faber tantalizingly suggests that some of the eggs long thought lost may eventually emerge. Darting from the palaces of a besieged Russia to the showcases of New York’s modern mega-wealthy, Fabergé’s Eggs weaves a story unparalleled in its drama and extravagance.

The Wilder Life: My Adventures in the Lost World of Little House on the Prairie (Audiobook) Unabridged edition 2012 | 10 hours and 38 mins | ISBN: 1455855340 | MP3 32 kbps | 153 MB Wendy McClure is on a quest to find the world of beloved Little House on the Prairie author Laura Ingalls Wilder — a fantastic realm of fiction, history, and places McClure has never been to yet somehow knows by heart. She traces the pioneer journey of the Ingalls family—looking for the Big Woods among the medium trees in Wisconsin, wading in Plum Creek, and enduring a prairie hailstorm in South Dakota. She immerses herself in all things Little House — exploring the story from fact to fiction, and from the TV shows to the annual summer pageants in Laura’s hometowns. Whether she’s churning butter in her apartment or sitting in a replica log cabin, McClure is always in pursuit of “the Laura experience.” Along the way she comes to understand how Wilder’s life and work have shaped our ideas about girlhood and the American West. The Wilder Life is a loving, irreverent, spirited tribute to a series of books that have inspired generations of American women. It is also an incredibly funny first-person account of obsessive reading, and a story about what happens when we reconnect with our childhood touchstones — and find that our old love has only deepened. uploaded (Part 1):
Marvel Comics: The Untold Story [Audiobook] ISBN: n/a, ASIN: B00B03PE7K | 2012 | Mp3 | 17:52:00 | 621 MB Throughout this decades-long journey to becoming a multibillion-dollar enterprise, Marvel's identity has continually shifted, careening between scrappy underdog and corporate behemoth. As the company has weathered Wall Street machinations, Hollywood failures, and the collapse of the comic book market, its characters have been passed along among generations of editors, artists, and writers - also known as the celebrated Marvel "Bullpen". Entrusted to carry on tradition, Marvel's contributors - impoverished child prodigies, hallucinating peaceniks, and mercenary careerists among them - struggled with commercial mandates, a fickle audience, and, over matters of credit and control, one another. For the first time, Marvel Comics reveals the outsized personalities behind the scenes, including Martin Goodman, the self-made publisher who forayed into comics after a get-rich-quick tip in 1939; Stan Lee, the energetic editor who would shepherd the company through thick and thin for decades; and Jack Kirby, the World War II veteran who'd cocreated Captain America in 1940 and, 20 years later, developed with Lee the bulk of the company's marquee characters in a three-year frenzy of creativity that would be the grounds for future legal battles and endless debates. Drawing on more than 100 original interviews with Marvel insiders then and now, Marvel Comics is a story of fertile imaginations, lifelong friendships, action-packed fistfights, reformed criminals, unlikely alliances, and third-act betrayals - a narrative of one of the most extraordinary, beloved, and beleaguered pop-cultural entities in America's history.

Mere Christianity (Audiobook) Unabridged edition 2001 | 5 hours and 55 mins | ISBN: 0786198761 | MP3 128 kbps | 355 MB
In 1943 Great Britain, when hope and the moral fabric of society were threatened by the relentless inhumanity of global war, an Oxford don was invited to give a series of radio lectures addressing the central issues of Christianity. Over half a century after the original lectures, the topic retains it urgency. Expanded into book form, Mere Christianity never flinches as it sets out a rational basis for Christianity and builds an edifice of compassionate morality atop this foundation. As Mr. Lewis clearly demonstrates, Christianity is not a religion of flitting angels and blind faith, but of free will, an innate sense of justice and the grace of God.

Mighty Joe Young - The Sonet Blues Story Mighty Joe Young | The Sonet Blues Story: Mighty Joe Young Release:2006 | Mp3 | 320 kbps | 109 Mb Genre: BluesChicago Blues
1. Rock Me Baby 2. BabyPlease 3. Just A Minute 4. Drivin' Wheel 5. Wishy Washy Woman 6. Early In The Morning 7. Sweet Kisses 8. Lookin' For You 9. It's Alright 10. I Have The Same Old Blues Mighty Joe Young (Young was using the name well before the movie of the same name was released) arrived on the Chicago blues scene from Louisiana a bit late in the game and never really received the critical attention he deserved. Add in health problems related to a pinched nerve in his neckand Young's solo recording dates were relatively few (he washoweveran active sidemanworking for a time as Otis Rush's rhythm guitarist) given his obvious talent as an electric guitarist and as a strong and sturdy vocalist. This solid setThe Sonet Blues Storywas tracked in Chicago in 1972 and was originally released as part of Samuel Charters' Legacy of the Blues series on the Stockholm-based Sonet Records imprint. It features Young with the rhythm section from his club band at the time: Sylvester Boines on bass and Alvino Bennett on drumsalong with Chicago session pianist Bob Reidyand horn men Charles Beechham (trumpet) and Walter Hambrick (tenor sax). Together they produce a classic South Side sound. Highlights include the elegantly done opener"Rock Me Baby," a solid cover of Percy Mayfield's "BabyPlease," and a pair of horn-augmented gemsthe instrumental soul piece "Just a Minute" and the blues/R&B blend of "Lookin' for You." Nothing here is too flashybut that ends up being part of the charm. (Steve Leggett)
