Quantum Coin
This could partly because the characters are so well drawn. Ephraim is a good guy. He has matured since the escapades of Fair Coin and learned that you can't solve life's myriad problems by wishing them away. He takes his mistakes and faults personally. He is also a teenage guy. Myers doesn't write an adult in an adolescent's body like a lot of YA authors. Eph is a true blue teenage male, with the same wants and desires. The banter between Eph and Nathan is hilarious to the point where I wish Nathan had a bigger role in the book. What is remarkable about the other characters is how individual they are, given the fact that they are alternates of each other. Zoe, Jena, and Doctor Kim are all quite unique despite having identical DNA. The same goes for Nathan and Nathaniel. This was an aspect that impressed me so greatly with Fair Coin and it only develops further in Quantum Coin. It is enough to get the readers wondering what their alternates would be like.
Raising Stony Mayhall This zombie thriller contains the twist that the species in many ways is better than many humans are as for instance the first commandment is not to bite a breather. Daryl Gregory has his zombies behave like Frankenstein as misunderstood beasts forced to reside in separate unequal government facilities. The Feds know of the forty-eight hour rule, but prefer keeping that classified as top secret. Readers will relish this zombie portrayal as fans will empathize with Stony and his brethren and adopted human family while hissing at cruel humans who claim security as their rationale.
School of Fear School of Fear is a good, original book with a plot much simpler than its language. It appears to be aimed for an audience of 4th graders with a wide vocabulary. School of Fear is not the best written book I have ever read but is still good with a well planned twist ending. The author displays the children's phobias well and gives life to each individual character. The story, although not very realistic, does not cross over into the realm of fantasy.
Shoe Addicts Anonymous Shopaholic Lorna Rafferty is nearly drowning in her debt, but for some reason she can't seem to stop buying new shoes. With a job as a waitress that gives her enough for the need but not the greed, and barely enough money to buy food, let alone other necessities, Lorna finds herself in a quandary about what to do regarding her financial situation. When she realizes that her spendthrift ways might soon leave her both homeless and carless, Lorna decides to get a grip on her spending and buckle down on her finances... only what is she supposed to do about her shoe addiction? So begins the creation of Shoe Addicts Anonymous, Lorna's brainchild wherein women in the D.C. area who are a size 7 1/2 can meet once a week and swap their designer shoes with one another... Lorna has no idea the sort of people her Gregslist ad will attract, but luckily meets some great women because of it.
Silent Night: A Lady Julia Christmas Novella It's Christmas, and Julia and Brisbane find themselves at the Abbey, but the atmosphere is strangely un-festive. The Brothers' Lot I just finished reading The Brothers' Lot, and I'm happy to say that it is a powerful, funny, provocative story that pulls no punches. Author Kevin Holohan manages to capture the fear, horror and spirit of tormented youth, while maintaining a sense of social critique that is thought-provoking. And, like a great Irish allegory should be, the story is hilarious, scary and delightful, all at the same time. Anyone who has ever suffered at the hands of an oppressive educational system designed more to serve its masters than its students will relish the comeuppance that befalls the Brothers of Godly Coercion. An excellent first novel, a modern Irish folk tale, highly recommended!
The Color of Night Personally, I found the central character, Harry Strand very irritating. We are told that he is a thoughtful and considerate - perhaps, one suspects, too thoughtful and considerate for his kind of professional work - yet as the story unfolds he displays incredible lack of concern for the fate of those closest to him. Stand remains for me a very gray, exasperating, fractured, and hazy central character. One wonders to what extent he actually has befriended the shadows in his life. However, in the world that Lindsey writes about most participants are gray and fractured: perhaps that's his point? I enjoyed this book, even although I confess to the occasional burst of skimming pages. Not, I would have to say Lindesy's best but certainly a very good read that I hope you also enjoy.
The Executioner Inside a Los Angeles church, on the altar steps, lies the blood-soaked, decapitated body of a priest. Carefully positioned, legs stretched out, arms crossed over the chest, the most horrifying thing of all is that the priest's head has been replaced by that of a dog. Later, the forensic team discover that, on the victim's chest, the figure 3 has been scrawled in blood. At first, Detective Robert Hunter believes that this is a ritualistic killing. But as more bodies surface, he is forced to reassess. All the victims died in the way they feared the most. Their worst nightmares have literally come true. But how could the killer have known? And what links these apparently random victims? Hunter finds himself on the trail of an elusive and sadistic killer, somone who apparently has the power to read his victims' minds. Someone who can sense what scares his victims the most. Someone who will stop at nothing to achieve his twisted aim.
The Deputy Crooked cops. Smugglers. Nasty locals. This 249-page book is so full of characters, sometimes it feels like that Thomas Mann book where he builds up the family to tear them down. And sometimes this one feels like a long short story, with action that you feel as if you're reading a short story all flesh and shotguns and chases.
The Finkler Question
Brilliant novel of Jewish life in present day London! "The Finkler Question" touches on a number of other vital and compelling topics: men and their relationships to each other male competition the insecurity of middle aged men and women infidelity and multiculturalism in the modern society. Jacobson deftly weaves these topics throughout this brilliant novel, which is filled with humor and pathos. This is definitely one of my favorite novels of the year, and it replaces The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet as my favorite of the current list of Booker Prize finalists.

The Hurricane Hugh Howey, you glorious bastard. I just finished reading The Hurricane and I cannot believe I was that enthralled by a story that did not involve space ships, zombies or subterranean societies. I was captivated by Daniel's journey from his connected solitude to discovering that first and deepest human connection in the silence after the storm. I love the way you immersed me in the scene and made me feel the wind and hear the incidental background noises. Yet, somehow, the sentences never feel drawn out or too wordy. That is a rare talent and I'm glad you let us share in it.
The Iron Khan: A Detective Inspector Chen Novel I read this like a glutton, glad it was published. The story of Inspector Chen expands into the Gobi. This is by far the most ambitious of the novels in terms of multiple subplots moving in parallel directions, and the Iron Khan himself is very ghoulish.
The Last Run This is a succinctly written, suspenseful, darkly humorous, and fast-paced novel, with a large cast of well-defined characters, evocative settings, and an ingeniously constructed plot. Rucka includes all of the elements that aficionados of this genre adore, including cryptography, surveillance, chase sequences, gunplay, and a final twist that few will see coming. The author moves back and forth between England and Iran, manipulating his chess pieces brilliantly and keeping the adrenaline level high. Everything works: the dialogue is sharp, the premise is intricate but believable, and the book's climax is so tense that it is impossible to put the novel aside until the story is played out. "The Last Run" is a entertaining and timely espionage thriller that is arguably one of Rucka's best works of fiction to date.
The Notes: Ronald Reagan's Private Collection of Stories and Wisdom This book is perfect for anyone in three distinct markets. The first consists of those who are interested in Reagan the politician and president, who, by many accounts presided over one of the greatest and most significant periods in American history (the revival of free market capitalism and the fall of the Soviet Union). The Notes offers a glimpse into the mind of one of the great figures in that period and underscores the spirit of the late 20th century in a way akin to Pascal's Pensees. The second market consists of those who are interested in public speaking. It would not be a stretch to claim that Reagan was the best orator of the 20th century and rivals the great orators of the American founding. Looking at the notes is like taking a seminar on how to capture an audience's attention, connect with them, convince them, and then make them feel thankful for having received such wisdom. One recalls Buckley's Speaking in Public and Adler's How to Speak How to Listen. Third, this book is for anyone interested in how to subdue what has become a fierce culture divide by means of eloquence and wit. As shown in books like Juggernaut: Why the System Crushes the Only People Who Can Save It, the divide is not just a symptom of the problem, but the problem itself. And Reagan, of all people, understood the paradoxes of modern times wholly and could relate them if only by identifying them. While current politicians possess similar charisma and speaking abilities, they are incapable of connecting with such a wide span of Americans and foreigners. For anyone in these markets and for lovers of communication in general, this book of Ronald Reagan's "keepers" is a keeper in itself.
The Prodigy: A Novel of Suspense James Martin IV was a former child prodigy and talented cellist. He is a resident of an institution for the criminally insane. James was convicted of stalking a female musician and murdering her. Now from the power of money he is released. James is requesting that Dr. Barrett Conyers treat him as her patient. James is not the typical patient Dr. Conyers would take on but there is just something about James that draws her to him. James may be considered a sociopath but there is more than meets the eye with this cellist. James is gearing up for his final duet with... Dr Barrett Conyers.

The Rapture of Omega Three recent homicides seemed unrelated until Detective CeeCee Gallagher noticed all three bodies had a similar mysterious mark. The more CeeCee investigates, the more clues point to a strange religious cult that’s moved into a nearby farmhouse, and the darker and more sinister it all seems. But whatever the cult may have done in the past, it’s no match for their truly horrifying plans for the future.
The Ravine Paul Quarrington's novel, Galveston, was nominated for the Scotiabank Giller Prize King Leary won the CBC's 2008 Canada Reads competition and the Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal and Whale Music was awarded the Governor General's Literary Award for Fiction. Recently, Porkbelly Futures' self-titled second CD has been released to widespread acclaim, and Paul Quarrington's short film adaptation of The Ravine, entitled Pavane, was featured in the Moving Stories Short Film Festival. Paul Quarrington's non-fiction writing includes books on some of his favourite pastimes, such as fishing, hockey, and music. A regular contributor of book reviews, travel columns, and journalism to Canada's national newspapers and magazines, he also taught writing at Humber College and the University of Toronto.
The Rebel Nick and Frankie have plenty of problems to work through. Both parties have been burnt in the past and bring numerous issues to the table. In fact, at one point, I got frustrated, because everytime one problem got solved, another problem arose. Because of all the old baggage, sometimes the romantic conflict seemed a little forced. I enjoyed the character of Nick, who was wonderful, although sometimes I couldn't understand why he was attracted to Frankie, who seemed too guarded and too stubborn. The book was very well written and I liked the ending, but I was able to set it down and walk away several times. While not a J.R. Ward entry in quality, a nice book for a pleasant afternoon.
The Rules of Silence Though somewhat similar in theme to Jon Katzenbach's THE ANALYST, THE RULES OF SILENCE is an exciting action thriller that never slows down until the final confrontation occurs. The story line moves at a rapid pace so readers need to wear their seat belts at all times. The villain and his opponent each have agendas that make them the lead duo in a deadly game of cat and mouse, and more easily understood than the victims. Not quite as character rounded as David Lindsey's usual novel (see A COLD MIND and MERCY), readers will still appreciate this exhilarating thriller.
The Snow White Christmas Cookie: A Berger and Mitry Mystery Two back to back blizzards have buried much of Connecticut in snow with no relief in sight as a third snowstorm is coming. Although affluent Dorset looks like a Norman Rockwell painting, the storekeepers are concerned as annually this is their best retail season, but no one is out shopping. However, someone is making the rounds as expensive Ugg boots are taken, and mail-order drug prescription packages and holiday tips left for mail carriers are being stolen from the mailboxes. Making matters worse are two apparent suicides as Bryce leaves a note while taking an overdose and mail carrier Hank dies from carbon monoxide poisoning after tying a hose to his car's tailpipe.

Walking Dead (Atticus Kodiak, Book 7) The action is non-stop, brutal, and bloody even before Atticus begins his rescue quest. Obstinate and brave Atticus is like a bull dog refusing to give up the mission though the odds are overwhelmingly against him. However, what makes this electrifying thriller super is the ease in which Greg Rucka interweaves without preaching or slowing down the plot a political commentary on human trafficking in which governments pretend the slave market does not exist.
Watch Me Die The time and place of New Orleans after Katrina and the effect the event had is well utilized here and provides an excellent backdrop for the novel. Main character Mira is very well developed and believable. You care for her and get to know her well. She is finally getting her life back in order after all Katrina took from her. Then her life becomes troubled again. There is vandalization and murder. The progression of the suspense and drama is slow and steady building at a very believable level. A man from Mira's past reemerges at the same time that a serial killer is on the loose. Who can she trust and what will happen next. Red herrings are perfectly dropped. All action is believable and you will be turning pages well into the night following Mira on her journey. True fear is very well utilized in this novel. The story builds to a superb ending. This novel represents a reliable author at her very best. I highly recommend it. And if you have never read Erica Spindler this is the perfect place to start. And be sure to read with the lights ON !
We Have Always Lived in the Castle This novel is a wonderful, delicous tale that only the late Ms. Jackson could possibly bestow on her fans. This novel is a deep journey into the psychological powers of us all. Merricat is a very real character, one that will and should be treasured by future generations as a wonderful priceless work of art. This is so much more than words on paper, this novel is a eerie lingering taste of true horror. Not the horror that authors such Stephen King or Anne Rice would write, not Shirley Jackson. This is another superb master-piece of psychological horror that can only be described as cryptic and beautiful. I HIGHLY recommended that you read this novel, it will teach you how to view circumstances and events in a different perscpitive...the Shirley Jackson perscpitive.
Zach's Law This was one of those awful stories where the immature heroine falls madly (and creepily) in love with the brooding stranger after spending only a few hours with him. The "damaged" hero, of coarse, wants her too but has sworn off virgins. Hour after miserable hour of this boring story described detailed his-and-her self-pondering. There were a few abstract notations of criminal activity going on but were only a vague part of this book. Sadly, the narrator left a lot to be desired too.
Days of Blood & Starlight
I have long felt that Laini Taylor is one of the best authors currently writing young adult literature. DAYS OF BLOOD AND STARLIGHT only further serves to confirm this. Most authors can only get away with a few great descriptions here and there before they become so obviously inserted that it is a distraction. With Taylor's book, every passage is an experience felt, seen, smelled, even tasted. She possesses a rare talent, and I think this sequel may even be better than DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE. Lucky me, I'll just re-read both until I can make up my mind.

The Perfect Hope: Book Three of the Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy I was hooked on this series from the first book. I work in the hotel business and LOVED all of the detail throughout each book about the reconstruction and furnishing/decorating of the inn, as well as the grand opening and so on. Given my background, I feared I would find it not so realistic, but I was actually envisioning all the detail and would love to have been the innkeeper! The family interaction throughout all 3 books was so fun. Coming from a large family myself, I found each and every scene of the 3 generations very realistic, from the bickering of the 3 brothers (and then the solidarity), to the rough and tumble of Clare's boys. I truly enjoyed the ghost aspect, who wouldn't love a ghost story in an old historic hotel?
Her Sky Cowboy: The Glorious Victorious Darcys This was a lighthearted steampunk romance. I liked how the author mixes Victorian times with a touch of the west and the highly imaginative world of fascinating mechanisms. The villain, who is actually looking to find the means to recreate a time machine is devilishly evil and sinister. The hero, Tucker, has been falsely accused of murder and I liked how Amelia believes in him and gives him a reason to believe in himself again. This book has a great spirit of adventure. The main characters are original and appealing, I only felt that the heroine was sometime a bit too naive
and impetuous. She was very fortunate that she met Tucker who watches out for her and loves her. This series will continue with Amelia's two brothers who also want to find a worthy invention and will each have their own book.
Magic for a Price: An Allie Beckstrom Novel When it comes to series ending books I'm always a bit a wary to start reading them because I know that no matter how good they are, there still will be the bittersweet goodbye. There also is the worry that not only will I have to say goodbye to characters that I have grown to love, but there also might be plot threads left open that will never be solved. Granted when things are wrapped up too neatly in a perfect bow, it does seem to lessen the realism of the story, but it still drives me insane when I'm left with unanswered questions. So, when Magic For a Price didn't let me down in either of those areas, you cannot possibly imagine my sigh of relief and contentment. There wasn't the bittersweet goodbye, because while Allie's narration is ending, Shame (LOVE that guy) will be getting his own turn in the limelight in a spin off and that means that there will be more from these awesome characters. On the second front, there weren't any major plot threads left open, but it also didn't turn into a sappy picture perfect ending. It ended perfectly and stayed true to the characters and the world, and I couldn't be happier. Seriously, I cannot remember the last time I was this content with a series ending book, and considering how many I have read, that is no small feat.
The 13th Tablet (A Mina Osman Thriller) I really enjoyed the story. It was set in 2004 Iraq which was a really interesting setting. I REALLY liked how he intertwined history into it and I was definitely at the edge of my seat till the very end! Hoping he writes book 2 ASAP!
Zoo Time Two seductively beautiful women are twinned in the amorous heart, the erotic mind, the Anacreontic soul of Guy Abelman: his fiery redheaded wife, Vanessa and her enticing, utterly bewitching, look-alike mother, Poppy. He loves them both, desires them both, hungers for them both to the point of distraction. And herein lie both the crux and the plot...

Bound to You So engrossing is this true story that I read the book in one evening. Having read the 50 Shades of Grey series and the Crossfire series, I was eager to read a non-fiction book on the same topic.
Bloodsworn As always, Long is a master of presenting the Warhammer World in both its glory and its horror, and Nuln is just as majestic and decrepit as before. We get to see some new sights and meet some new folks, most of whom don't fare particularly well once the vampires start warring on each other. Ulrika is as headstrong as ever, frustratingly so at times her impatience gets her into more trouble in this book than in both previous books combined. There are not a lot of new characters introduced here, but those we do meet are well-characterized, even sympathetic, including some on the opposing side (the Sylvanian leader von Messinghoff and his charismatic but headstrong general Kodrescu are good examples of this). Old enemies reappear to continue making Ulrika's unlife miserable, as well.
A Week in December This is a great book, well written, poignant, funny. I don't want to go into the details of the plot too much because it will spoil the book for readers. The characters range from a mixed race tube train operator, whose father abandoned her mother when she was 5, to a multibillionaire hedge fund manager, a second generation Pakistani boy wrestling with his identity and flirting with Islamofascism. Also a pompous negative Oxford educated book reviewer and a failed barrister thrown in for good measure. I am a lawyer and can tell you that the picture of the hedgefund manager and his shenanigans is spot on. Sebastian Faulks also wrote Birdsong, another wonderful book. One of the best books I have read in years and I read A LOT.
WAR The book has an extensive bibliography that includes up-to-date literature on killing and combat. Junger spends some time philosophizing about fighting, killing, and cognitive processes during battle, and he backs up his writing with multiple studies. PTSD and other "mental casualties" are acknowledged, as well. Not only does WAR try to describe what it's like to be in combat, but it makes a serious attempt to try and figure out why men actually enjoy it. (Yes, believe it or not, my feeling by the end of the book was that these men do.) Towards the end of the book, Junger provides a neurological explanation: "The dopamine reward system exists in both sexes but is stronger in men, and as a result, men are far more likely to become obsessively involved in such things as hunting, gambling, computer games, and war. When the men of Second Platoon were moping around the outpost hoping for a firefight it was because, among other things, they weren't getting their accustomed dose of endorphins and dopamine." Then there is the sociological perspective. The men profiled in this book did not necessariily join the Army to die for thie country (although some do). Above all, it's the strong personal bonds, almost love, between young men who have been through challenging training and hardship, drive much of what takes place in war -- courage, bravery, willingness to die -- it all comes down to personal bonds. Men will die for their friends.
CLAN I really didn't know what to expect when I started reading Clan. The very first book of Shannon's that I read, Dead And Gone, scared the crap out of me. It had me looking over my shoulder as I read it, and it left me feeling uneasy for several days. I've read Shannon's first Mick Callahan book, Memorial Day: A Mick Callahan Novel, and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Cold Wind Joe Pickett is a wonderfully likable character who tries to do the right thing by everyone, every time. Think white hat. The supporting characters are just as well drawn - the sheriff and his cronies are eminently unlikeable. As is Joe's cold, calculating mother-in-law. Joe's personal life has evolved throughout the novels as well - I wonder how much of the trials of raising three daughters mirrors Box's own life with three daughters. Joe and Marybeth's relationship seems very real as well. The secondary storyline involving Joe's friend Nate Romanowski totally grabbed me. Nate is a master falconer and fugitive. He has gone off the grid and underground in the hills of Wyoming. There are those that want him dead. More Nate please! (Fans of Joe Pike and Jack Reacher would like this character)
Confessions of a Chronic Pervert Jack Vaughn is a salesman for one of Britain's leading internet marketing firms. He's also a pervert. That, at least, is what you might think if you met him. And meet him you will, in this shocking tale of one man's peculiar sexual behaviour - a deviancy that puts him in the sights of the mysterious James Carrick. A visceral, haunting journey across Europe, in which Vaughn seeks his own salvation, not only from Carrick, but from himself.
Critical Mass: A Thriller
The subject of this book, the fictional account of a threat of nuclear annihilation from an extremist Muslim organization, is not generally what I would choose as reading material, however, as usual, Whitley has crafted yet another page turning thriller. It starts slowly, but the suspense builds and builds until you just can't put it down. A fantastic book with haunting descriptions of events which will be burned into my brain for time immemorial.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone This complex story is about a girl who has no idea of who she really is. Her life has been filled with creatures that would cause terror to most but have been family to her. Karou is a strong, talented seventeen year old who helps her "family" of demon like characters collect teeth. The teeth have a use, but Karou has never found out what exactly. She just goes to designated sights through portal doors to collect the teeth and then goes back to her private art school and her one friend. Her lonely life is interrupted by the sight of an angel who is trying to put a stop to the teeth trade and the creatures who traffic them. Even though he should destroy Karou ,he can not bring himself to kill her due to her similarities to his long lost love. What follows is an intriguing tale of forbidden love in a lush, imaginative world.
Dead Stop D. Nathan Hilliard brings the scares with "Dead Stop". The past of Masonfield rises as the town is on the brink of a major storm. the inhabitants of the Textro Truck Stop must band together to survive the dangers that approach. The cast of character in this zombie novel are typical but not cookie cutter stereotypes. You have Deke and Harley, friends, set out on a romantic dare. Stacey, Marisa, Benny, and several other patrons at the truck stop. There's budding romance, gore, and a bit of comedy as well.

Incarceron I loved this book. The author does a great job of introducing the reader to both worlds the one inside Incarceron and the one outside. Both POV's flow seamlessly in this tale. Flinn's struggles to find out if he does belong Outside are powerful. He refuses to accept the belief he can never leave. Both worlds are rich with detail. I can't help but wonder if there's a sequel in the works? I highly recommend this book! Right now it's only available in the UK but I'm sure it'll be coming here soon. It's well worth the wait!
In War Times Following his training, he is sent to Europe to resolve theoretical and practical problems for the Allies. One stop is England, where he helps to resolve targeting issues with air defense systems. As the Allies make headway in Europe, Sam and his company move forward with the Army. As the war in Europe winds down, he is sent to the Pacific, where he finds himself on the Enola Gay.
Jack and Kill (Hunt For Reacher Short Story #2)
Even if you're not a Jack Reacher fan you'll enjoy this short story that follows the adventures of the FBI duo, Otto and Gaspar, as they continue the search begun in Capri's bestselling novel Don't Know Jack. Great tension and a light touch of humor make for a quick and tension filled read. Capri writes with a master's hand and we can all look forward to further adventures in the new series. She'll have to write faster to make her fans happy because like them, I'm eagerly awaiting the next book.
Jesus: The Extraterrestrial Who is the real Jesus Christ? Who is the real Satan? What is the true origin of mankind? These and many other questions will be answered in this novel which is based on historical documents. The year is 34 AD. While Jesus is taken to Calvary to be crucified, in the desert nearby a spaceship descends from the skies and the occupant approaches Joseph of Arimathaea and gives him a cylinder in which he is to collect and keep the blood of Jesus. Joseph believes that it is an angel of God, and does as he is told. He collects the blood of Jesus and hides the cylinder inside the chalice which Jesus used at the Last Supper. Killer Critique The protagonist of this series is Capucine Le Tellier, a police officer with an unusual background: she comes from the French upper class and studied at the prestigious Sciences Po (Paris Institute of Political Studies). She's called in to investigate what appears to be a serial killer at work, picking off the leading Parisian restaurant critics one by one in bizarre circumstances. The case gets personal as her husband, Alexandre(!), is a leading restaurant critic himself.

Killer Move Bottom line, this is highly recommended. I am going to check out Mr. Marshall's earlier trilogy, "The Straw Men", "The Upright Man" and "Blood of Angels" because there seems to be some kind of link between "Killer Move" and those three books. It seems to me that the ending is setting up some kind of crossover between the two.
Last to Die Mitch Sheridan was also well written and fleshed out. Still, at times I feel like Dani is the one who did all the detective work. It is almost as though her character overpowers his sometimes, but that could just be my inner feminist. To me, Brady sets a new standard for tough on the outside, vulnerable in the inside female protagonists. Plot wise, this novel an engaging read with lots of subplots threading through it. It's hard to say anything without spoiling it, but I really wished that Brady, as the writer, had made the killer suffer more!
Leaving Paradise The execution is anything but simple. Caleb and Maggie are both complex, real people who you in-turn, love and get infuriated at. They are people, not characters. This events are something that can actually happen, not just story. The ending is satisfying, a real ending, not a contrived, happy one. I feel like I can pick up the paper and read about an incident like this today, that's how real this story is.
Mercy Kill: A Mystery The complexity of this story was amazing. Several things were going on at once with nothing and no one operating in a vacuum or by themselves. Between personal relationships, professional relationships and family there is enough going on to keep Mercy occupied. But as always, she's impulsive and can be deadly. I hurt for Mercy and with Mercy and cheered her on and wanted a happily ever after for her. What I got was real life and as Mercy's life hasn't ended, neither have her problems, issues, hopes and fears. An unexpected window of opportunity has opened for Mercy.
Moon Spell Let me just say, Moon Spell doesn't have any shortage of action, character chemistry, and twists. There's a lot of great interaction with the pack both in their human and wolf forms, which I really enjoyed. Let's just say there's a great war brewing between the lykans & vampyres against the dark magik alliance with the deamons, faeries. I enjoyed Moon Spell just as much as I enjoyed Lunarmorte and I definitely recommend picking it up.

Murder in Jerusalem: A Michael Ohayon Mystery This is a masterful novel in which the tightly packed and chaotic prose reflects the chaos in the action itself. If you're looking for easy reading, this is not it. If you're looking for a powerful and complex story set firmly in the chaos of modern-day Israel, this just the book for you.
Nauti Temptress I loved this Nauti book. I have read a the Nauti boys Series and loved them. When I heard Lora Leigh was writing a new Nauti Series I could not wait to see who she was going to write about. I am glad Lora Leigh did not write about the daughter yet. I think is was the right way to go. Mackey Cousins needs a heads up on how their daughters are going to be and here it is. I am not going to give away anything. But I will have this. Dawg reminds me of a couple of my friends big brothers while I was in high school how he acts. Eve does what she wants and lets the cards fall where the may. For the bad boy Brogan Campbell, he acts just like a bad boy that you want your sister or daughter to stay away from. I love the story line and the love story. I can not wait for the next one to come out.
Oh Dear Silvia Great book. Read it for a book club meeting. Not something that I would have chosen but more than pleasantly surprised by the quality of characterisation and the deftness of touch re the subject matter and some great observational vignettes.
One More Day Just finished the book. Couldn't put it down. Great characters. I was left wanting more. Can't wait to see what happens to the other Alexanders. Wish I had the books now. Will definitely buy as soon as they are available.
