Yarn to Go If you like this book, you will certainly also enjoy Betty's crochet murder-mystery series with heroine Molly Pink. That series is also a fun read, with characters who will become your friends. Betty has a way of taking the mundane and expressing it in such a way that it seems extraordinary, and it makes me reflect on my own life with more appreciation for what I have.
What's a Witch to Do? `What's a Witch to Do?' has rekindled my love of the cozy paranormal mystery. I'm hoping this is the first in a (long!) series because I am completely, 100% in Mona McGregor's corner and I desperately want to return to Goodnight, Virginia and further explore this fantastical, magical world that Jennifer Harlow has created. She's as cozy-good as Charlaine Harris, but with a witchy flair that's all her own. Superb, and I want more.
Vortex (Insignia) I like the series. It was a fun afternoon read. Can't wait for the next book in the series. When is the next book coming out.

Two Guys Detective Agency Loved the first book in this new series and am looking forward to reading the second (and hopefully third etc...) book. It kept my interest and was a quick read without a lot of clunky dialog. Also liked the fact that there was none of those overly
descriptive love scenes...hate those! Loved Octavia's character! I liked how the stories lines in this first book will NEED to be carried into the next one and can't wait to see how some of them will end. I like Stephanie Bond...I think she is a great writer but I am still waiting for the next book in the Body Mover series! A fan of this series for the future for sure!
Truly, Madly, Deadly I really enjoyed that everyone in the book was a potential suspect. I was left guessing and rethinking who the culprit was, only to be foiled! What did annoy me was how Sawyer didn't go directly to the authorities, or talk to anyone in general. Instead, she kept it in, suspected everyone...and bad things continue to happen. Even when she finally decides that the time has come to speak to someone about it, it was like pulling teeth having her decide whether to spill, or continue to harbor her secret.

The Illusion of Separateness Simon Van Booy has written another beautiful novel. This book is nominally about the interconnectedness of a group of very disparate individuals. The story is compelling and the reader is carried inexorably forward on the wings of the most poignant and beautiful prose. But there is so much more here than the story of the characters there is the story of what it means to exist in this world, the story of love and forgiveness, of memory, of sounds and smells and the whisper of a greater hand at work. This book is mystery and poetry and philosophy all bound together with the silken strings that tie one human being to another and at the very core, there is love.
The Dark Discovery of Jack Dandy Jack Dandy didn't become prince of the London underworld at barely twenty-one by being softhearted, even if a certain girl in a steel corset has wormed her way into his affections of late. He knows how to manipulate, charm and rob people blind. And if his criminal activities embarrass his aristocratic father, so much the better.
Tarnished and Torn: A Witchcraft Mystery As with the previous novels, this isn't an "OMG YOU MUST READ" story, but it is absolutely entertaining for an evening when you want to put your feet up and escape into another world for a while. I like it a lot. But you do need to start with the earlier books in the series.
Suspiciously Obedient After picking up Maliciously Obedient since it was on sale, I immediately jumped into Suspiciously Obedient. I am now completely addicted and cannot wait for the sequel to this story as well! How fast can you write another 300 pages, Julia Kent?
Strange Stones: Dispatches from East and West
I am surprised he published the 4th book on China. You'd think a trilogy is a happy ending. I just finished the second chapter still the same Peter Hessler styles- Chinese sense of humor unique perspective throughout chapters but honestly since he has been away from China or he simply shift his attention to elsewhere, there isn't much new stuff in the book.
Shutdown (Glitch) Shutdown was an amazing conclusion and was the best installment of the trilogy. I enjoyed watching Zoe realize the extent of her powers, even if one major thing she discovered made me roll my eyes. The romance actually became interesting, which I was thankful for. The ending wasn't easy and it was believable. I never saw that coming, but it worked. I definitely recommend this series to Sci-Fi fans!
Short Girls Romance, career, and most importantly family is the driving forces behind the main characters' actions. Nguyen let's us into the minds of her characters, but at the same time, as they withhold their secretive thoughts from their loved ones, Nguyen withholds them from the reader as well, teasing the reader from start to finish.
Rock Point (Sharpe & Donovan) I really liked this prequel because it was clearly and accurately described, and it was one heck of an introduction to this series of books. I have never read any books by this author but I felt that this short prequel compelled me to read others in this series. The book was very well written with wonderfully descriptive text, which made me feel that I was actually in Ireland or Maine. With rich prose, an interesting plot and sub-plot as well as likeable characters, this one is a winner which deserves further attention. Perhaps the author should consider changing the price of her next book so that more readers might discover the delightful experience which awaits them.
Repossession There was so much action and drama through out the whole story never dull, I love when I story captivates me straight from the start, there was none of that awkward lets get through the first few chapters before really getting to the plot or main point of whats going on. I didn't see the twist that came towards the end and I hated what the invaders did to Skylla and Jet's relationship. The cliffhanger caught me off guard and I couldn't help but be left with a book high needing more of my book fix. I can't wait to see what the rest of the series has in store, knowing Rachael it's bound to be epic!
Picture Perfect Corpse (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery) This novel explores not only the crime, but the importance of family, and friends to Kiki's world. Anya's Grandmother (Kiki's Mother-in-law, Sheila) lies in the hospital trying to recover as well. Kiki's best friend's son, Johnny is in a coma. Hatred and shame is flying through the papers as the parents of slain Brenda Detweiler try to deal with their loss. Pain is felt as the coming loss of a major friend comes inching closer. All these must be dealt with as Kiki tries to find a killer that wants to destroy her newly found happiness. Families come in many forms as Kiki, Chad, and Anya will discover by the end.
Phantom: A Harry Hole Novel Nesbo adopts an interesting P.O.V. and gives us Gusto's dying thoughts, along with Harry's real-time investigation and interestingly I found Gusto's brutal narrative one of the more compelling aspects of the story. Nesbo also skilfully dances around with the 3rd person perspective creating a dynamic narrative, where many authors would have only made a clumsy mess.
One Dead Cookie (A Cookie Cutter Shop Mystery) Olivia is busy baking up special cookies for Maddie’s upcoming engagement party when soap star Trevor Lane shows up unexpectedly in town. It soon becomes clear that Trevor, who grew up in the neighboring town of Twiterton, left behind a number of enemies with long memories. Even Trevor’s assistant and childhood friend, Dougie, seems to harbor a grudge against him.
Night Vision (An Indigo Court Novel) When I read Yasmine Galenorn's books I feel like I'm in the story. Not gonna give any hints to the new readers, but if you like Super natural romance books, then you really need to read all of Yasmine Galenorn's novels!
Neptune's Brood
This is a slightly insane romp through several different cultures and biospheres if you are looking for unusual worldbuilding it definitely does not disappoint. Our hero(ine) goes from something that sounds like a hyper-computerized Japan to a floating catacomb to a waterworld, and that's only halfway through the book.
Naked This is a good first book. The story is well written and the author is taking the time to set up the characters and plot. While there aren't any hot scenes in this installment, it is more emotional at this point. It's interesting twist on something that could be cliche. I look forward to the next one.
Looming Murder: A Weaving Mystery I really enjoyed this series. There is the hint of a romance that could blossom between Della and Matthew, but right now it is just being hinted at. I was totally shocked at who the killer turned out to be. It was a total surprise to me. I missed the cleverly hidden clues to their identity and that shocked me. I am usually much better at figuring out the whodunit, plus there were several twists that I just never saw coming. For me that makes the story more interesting and keeps my interest. I will be watching for the next one and will be sure to read it. This is a great new cozy series.
Lifeless This book has so much going on, but not so much that it overwhelms you to the point of taking notes. There's a little mystery, some bad guys, a ton of great sex and an excellent cliffhanger that is more intriguing rather than frustrating. The secondary characters are strong, but maintain their place without confusing the reader about who the main characters are.
Let It Burn: An Alex McKnight Novel I have read all of the McKnight books and this one was one of the better. It takes Alex out of the UP and back to Detroit,where all of his demons lie and has an interesting plot structure as well. The story is interesting, has many twists and the reveal is a bit surprising.
Kindred This book has a lot of action. I mean seriously, a lot. Some of it was chemistry, some was sexual heat, and a lot of it was good ol fashion battle action. A lot of things happened in these pages. There are several kidnappings, a friendship in danger, and a budding romance that is all consuming. I was excited through every page, no skimming or reading fast through this one. Every page had something new and exciting. Of course I adored the main characters, but the secondary characters that came and went, or stayed, were all fantastic and lively.
Island Girls This book won't disappoint readers of Nancy Thayer. Island Girls was a very quick read. A mystery solved and characters that everyone can relate to. Hope you read it.
Fragile Empire: How Russia Fell In and Out of Love with Vladimir Putin
I bought this book due to the all the positive attention it's been getting in the press and I was not disappointed. From the first page the book holds the attention and sustains it throughout. A combination of both reportage from a man that has ventured beyond the confines of Moscow to cross the vast expanse that is Russia several times and in depth analysis of the Russian state in all its forms, the book stood out for me on both counts.
Forsaken by the Others This is a well developed story that will keep your attention from start to finish. Action, adventure, mystery, a little romance, with just the right amount of funny, and very interesting characters, I truly enjoyed reading Forsaken by the Others. What an ending...way to leave us wanting more! In the end, Forsaken by the Other is an enchanting and entertaining story that will pull you into the fabulous world of Jess Haines' imagination.
Final Sentence (A Cookbook Nook Mystery)
I really enjoyed the characters in this book. Jenna is having to deal with the loss of her husband and Aunt Vera wants to see Jenna get her life going and at the same time provide a successful business and a fun place to be. Police Chief Cinnamon Pritchett seems to be "good cop/bad cop" rolled up into one and am looking forward to reading more about her. Jenna's father, Cary, is retired FBI analyst, who doesn't want Jenna involved in the investigation, but at the same time wants her to be involved. And a possible romantic interest in Rhett Jackson who owns the Bait and Switch Bait Shop and who Jenna begins to learn is more that a handsome face. Hoo-boy, how could I forget Katie, the talented chef for the cafe.
Fancy Pants This is a terrific amusing inspirational historical romance. Sydney is a fabulous nephew as the ranch hands led by Big Tim struggle to toughen up the girly boy going so far as to take her to a brothel. Big Tim in many ways is the more interesting protagonist as he began to fall in love with her when she was an English sissy. The story line is intelligent and fun to read because Hume is not a nasty villain as he persists in marrying Sydney although she rejects them as unsuited (could his story be next?). Cathy Marie Hake has written a droll late nineteenth century tale that sub-genre readers will cherish.
Emma's Secret Once again a book by Stenna. Holmes has amazed me made me laugh made me cry. The best second part to finding Emma wad amazing. I hope you think about a third book to the series it would be awesome to I just know it. You are an awesome writer. I could not wait until this book came out and I am sad because I finished it. I Want more about Emma. Please consider a third part.
Emerald Isle I enjoy the history of Ireland and this entwines it with the story of Stacy justice, seeker of justice. It has become my fav out of the series. Greatly written. Cant wait for the next, I hope there will be. And thank you barbra for releasing this one a bit early.
Echoes of Dark & Light I really loved this book. Bobbi was such a likeable character. She believed so strongly in her brother being alive that she would do anything for him. She was brave in the face of danger and loyal to her friends, almost to a fault. The guys she was friends with were great too - very individual and very real. You wanted to pet Woody on the head because he was so thick, and give Kenny a hug because he was so sweet. And Toby...well, he was just the best. Even the not-so-nice characters were realistic. You have bullies everywhere, even in war time, and her bullies seemed like some people I've known in my lifetime.

Die a Stranger: An Alex McKnight Novel Alex McKnight gets himself in and out of deadly situations with regularity but the scenario set in DIE A STRANGER may not be one he or his close friends are able to work their way out of. This novel reads like a house afire and ends way too soon. I cherish the Alex McKnight series and any time spent with this character and his native northern Michigan brethren is always a good time and some of the best reading in the crime fiction genre today!
Death of a Coupon Clipper
I've enjoyed the other two Hayley Powell Mysteries ("Death of a Kitchen Diva" and "Death of a Country-Fried Redneck", and this one was no exception. All you cozy-lovers, make room on your bookshelf for this fast and easy reader. I can't wait to see what adventures Hayley gets involved in next as a matter of fact, the Author has also included a "Snippet" of "Death of a Chocoholic" for us to savor in the interim.
Below Absolutely loved the book and would recommend it to anybody. It grabbed a hold of me and didn't let go! I would love to see it made into a movie someday!
After Earth Very interesting concept. Writing style a little robotic, were things THAT series?!!? Good read if you like SyFy. Has series potential.

Tonya weaves a spell that draws you into the world of June and Whispering Falls. If you have not read the prior three books, you should start with those. It would be somewhat hard to follow all of the characters if the prior books haven't been read. I highly recommend this series and this book. I can't wait to see what happens next in Whispering Falls. If you are a fan of magic and mystery, this is for you.
