The Chance Couldn't put it down, read it in a day and enjoyed every line. The characters come alive on the pages and the story line could be anyone's life. I'm not one for suspense, but couldn't ruin this one by jumping ahead. Wonderful read!
A Touch Menacing I literally couldn't get to the next page fast enough. I needed to know, I had to find out what was coming. What was next. What horrendous torture would I suffer at the hands of the author? And torture you she will. In fact, if you are invested in this series, I wouldn't suggest reading this on a day you are already emotionally compromised. Clifford kicks the dark, the twisted and the body count up a notch (or ten). Unafraid to drive the knife deep into your heart and twist. No one is safe!
Bad Blood (Kate Shugak) One hundred years of bad blood between the villages of Kushtaka and Kuskulana come to a boil when the body of a young Kushtaka ne'er-do-well is found wedged in a fish wheel. Sergeant Jim Chopin's prime suspect is a Kuskulana man who is already in trouble in both villages for falling in love across the river. But when the suspect disappears, members of both tribes refuse to speak to Jim. When a second murder that looks suspiciously like payback occurs, Jim has no choice but to call in Kate Shugak for help. This time, though, her Park relationships may not be enough to sort out the truth hidden in the tales of tragedy and revenge.
Fear in the Sunlight I was searching for a good old-fashioned murder mystery for vacation and came across a review of this book in the paper. While some of her earlier novels (this is her fourth) had average reviews, I liked the subject and setting of this and decided to give it a try. It was a very pleasurable reading experience. The main mystery takes place in Portmeirion in Wales in 1936 and incorporates real life characters Josephine Tey and Alfred Hitchcock in a fictional situation. The atmosphere described by the author took me right there and she brought it all to life.
Undercover Wolf (Harlequin Nocturne)
The fourth story about the Alpha Force team has the unit in danger of being disbanded unless two of its members can find proof to contradict possible damaging evidence. This series has plenty of sexy werewolf heroes, and Linda O. Johnston makes Quinn someone whom I truly loved as he fights to discover the truth. There are few clues to the countless mysteries in UNDERCOVER WOLF, but lusty passions are in abundance.

Whisper to the Blood: A Kate Shugak Novel With Whisper To The Blood we find a Canadian gold mining company, Global Harvest Resources Inc., that has been buying up land inside Alaska's largest national park, simply known as "the Park." Residents don't care for this at all and remain unconvinced that it will be beneficial to them despite the efforts of a well liked ski champion Global Harvest has hired to bolster its pr. She's out there reminding everyone that gold is now selling for $900 an ounce, and the Company will be providing jobs for many.
White Nights: A Thriller Writer Ann Cleeves held my attention for two days as I followed Jimmy Perez on the mystery trail. Cleeves created excellent characters, people whom you'd realistically expect to live in the Shetland Islands. She has a good sense of timing, introducing people, their history, and their relationships to each other at a pace the reader can digest.
Wait For Me: Romantic Suspense Ryan is a man you equally wants to get down and dirty with while shaking and screaming at him. He's a man who had his entire world taken away from him when he thought he lost his wife in a plan crash five years before. The only way to make it through the day was to lock all his feelings away. The only problem was, the minute he sees Kate and recognizes her for his dead wife, he unleashes those feelings on her with disastrous results (especially since they weren't exactly feelings of love that he was cramming down her throat).
Virals VIRALS is Kathy Reichs' first foray into the young adult world, and she knocks it out of the park. After a slow start, the tension, drama, danger, mystery, and the strange virus pulsing through the characters' bodies make this book extraordinarily hard to put down. I'm already waiting for the next book in the series.
Though Not Dead: A Kate Shugak Novel I have a bad habit when getting the newest edition of a Kate Shugak book...I don't do much of anything but read, no devour the book. And when it's done, I really miss the characters, Alaska, Mutt, all of it. And I regret the speed of the read. I'm actually thinking about going back and starting at the beginning of the series.

Thorn in My Side With Thorn In My Side, she kicks off an exciting new series of books with a novel which is just as down to earth and hard edged as her previous books but is more high concept, as they say in Hollywood. Indeed, I can really see an adaptation of Thorn In My Side making it to the big screen.
The War in Heaven: The Chronicle of Abaddon the Destroyer Kenneth Zeigler captivates the reader with a story of war between good and evil. He paints graphic pictures of the torments of hell and the struggle between freedom and captivity. If you like suspenseful Christian fiction you will enjoy this book.
The Somme Stations
On the first day of the Somme enlisted railwayman Jim Stringer lies trapped in a shell hole, smoking cigarette after cigarette under the bullets and the blazing sun. He calculates his chances of survival - even before they departed for France, a member of Jim's unit had been found dead. During the stand-off that follows, Jim and his comrades must operate by night the vitally important trains carrying munitions to the Front, through a ghostly landscape of shattered trees where high explosive and shrapnel shells rain down. Close co-operation and trust are vital. Yet proof piles up of an enemy within, and as a ferocious military policeman pursues his investigation into the original killing, the finger of accusation begins to point towards Jim himself...
The Slayer (Legend Chronicles) Winn was ready to settle sown and put his Hunter status on the shelf and leave that life for good. Winn is an amazing character with his love and loyalty to his brother even after the hell he was raised in. Growing up in a family if Hunters can be a dangerous sometimes, but as Winn found out looks can be deceiving and have deadly consequences in life and from all of the trouble Hunting had gotten him into, to protect his loved ones, Winn stopped Hunting and took up a star. Being the law in his small Bodie, CA town can keep Winn busy on any day and when Winn goes out to foil a stagecoach robbery his finds himself surrounded by the dead and a deadly woman in blue.
The Sixth Man The action revolves around an alleged serial killer named Edgar Roy whose mental capacity goes far beyond photograhic memory. His ability to process millions of pieces of random information and analyze it almost instantly has earned him the nickname The Analyst and has made him a highly valuable asset to anyone whose priority is national security. With every new death, however, Sean and Michelle are trying to decide who they can trust and if someone believes Roy is more valuable dead than alive.

The Skeleton Key The short story market for fiction is pretty much dried up, especially for longer stories like this one, and the only way to publish shorts these days is as an ebook. Change is hard I still lament the loss of my vinyl records. But ebooks are here to stay, and Rollins has to keep up with the times. He's a technothriller writer and has always been forwardthinking. If you're a fan, I encourage you to check out this story. There are literally thousands of thrillers on Kindle that haven't been released in paper. Both Jim and I would hate for you to miss out on them just because technology is changing.
The Singing of the Dead (Kate Shugak Mysteries) Terrific! That nicely sums up this latest entry in Dana Stabenow's Kate Shugak series. Stabenow, who was born and lives in Anchorage, provides her readers with an up-close and in-depth look at Alaskan life. And boy, is that life rugged and cold! Stabenow doesn't pull any punches as she describes everyday life in Alaska. People drink way too much. Marriages break up right and left. Just living day to day is difficult.
The Silver Blade Towards the end of the last book, Yann Margoza, gypsy assistant-magician, became the infamous and mysterious Silver Blade- a dashing hero who rescues the innocent from the guillotine. In the midst of the French Revolution he is suddenly confronted by an enemy he previously thought dead (who we know from the very end of the last book also
harbors a secret about Yann). Meanwhile Sido, the marquise Yann loves and rescued from death, is living in London with her relations. But is the French Revolution enough to allow a gypsy boy to marry a marquise? If they even live through it?
The Silent Man In the DC area CIA Agents John Wells and Jennifer Exley are driving to work when traffic comes to a standstill because of accidents on two bridges. John thinks it is too much of a happenstance and quickly is proven right when three assassins on motorcycles start shooting at them. They kill their attackers, but Exley is critically wounded in the crossfire. When he knows she will live, John goes to Russia to obtain proof that arms dealer Pierre Kowalski put out the hit on him for embarrassing him and marking his face in a duel years ago.
The Silent Hour (Lincoln Perry) Many surprises are uncovered here, and this continues until practically the last page, where the law of unintended consequences is laid bare for all to see. Koryta emerged fully formed as a major talent in the mystery genre with his debut novel, and with each new work he continues to exceed the promises made by its predecessors. THE SILENT HOUR is not to be missed.

The Silenced The pacing is utterly breathless and the backstory comes as a nice surprise. I will grant that Quinn/Jake's sister is a little annoying at times. She has trouble obeying his orders because she has never known what he actually does for a living and she believes that he has abandoned her in the past and, thus, is unworthy of her attentions now. Little does she know the world in which Quinn lives and moves and has his being, but she will learn.
The Silent Army (Revivors) Special Agent Nico Wachalowski has still not quite recovered the death of his former love, Faye. And now that she's an emotionless reviver, working for Samuel Fawkes, Nico will be faced with a nightmare come true. After a mission goes wrong, Samuel Fawkes gains control of weapons that could destroy more than just the city. And his army of revivors is growing quickly. Then, an opposing force surfaces, led by a woman names Ai who wants Nico to side with her against Fawkes. But Nico has been warned not to trust Ai either.
The Shattering The Shattering is a character driven story that reads like a faster-paced contemporary, but has this tiny paranormal twist to it. The twist works splendidly though because it keeps the story rooted in reality, while making things just a
little more complicated for Keri, Janna, and Sione. If nothing else, The Shattering is different from other YA books, as it isn't a love story or about angels or demons or vampires or any other overdone subject. Karen Healey keeps it interesting with her richly detailed setting and characters that jump, scream, and fight off the pages.
The Sharp Time I loved Sandinista's narration. She is a well crafted character because while the story revolves around Sandinista's anger, she is still likable. Never once did she come across as an annoyingly bitchy teen. She is incredibly smart, funny, tough and vulnerable at the same time. O'Connell delivered every painful moment with such realistic force that I experienced a genuine understanding of her hearts response to her pain. A pain and a loneliness that runs so deep that it surfaces in some very ugly ways. The Sharp Time is the debut novel of Mary O'Connell and I hope that there are many more to come. I would love to hear more about Sandinista Jones.
The Shadow Reader THE SHADOW READER is a fantastically fun urban fantasy! One of the best debuts of the year and easily my favorite fae urban fantasy since Karen Marie Moning's Darkfever series. Wonderfully integrated mythology that flowed naturally in the story without needing lengthy explanations, a to die for love triangle, and a relatable non-super woman protagonist who relies on her brain and bravery to fight for what she wants. This is a book that checked off all my urban fantasy wish list boxes and I can't wait to read the sequel.

The Shadow of the Wind A mystery story, a fairy tale, a love story (actually several love stories), a passion for literature, a treatise on politics, a bawdy tale, with love, hate, courage, intrigue, loss of innocence, humor, cowardice, villainy, cruelty, compassion, regret, murder, incest, redemption, and more. Add to this delicious mixture characters who come alive, and whose thoughts and feelings you will feel deeply.
The Shadow Girl of Birch Grove The Shadow Girl of Birch Grove I found by way of Love Vampires I read their review and decided to read this book. They were right on the mark with this one. For once I felt like I could relate somewhat with where the protagonist character came from. Nothing too special, just trying to survive. This book was indeed a suspenseful one, it reminded me of The Village/Stepford Wives, but with "vampires" (in here called: The Family). The dialogue was natural, well it seemed so real to me, since this is how people talk (or well at least I and the people around me). I'm going to be checking out Acosta for more books since she is a nice new add out here. I would like to see what other adventures she crafts up. Oh, and the character relationships, very nicely woven, and a twist to everyone (except MV, she's already twisted in a good way of course, her family rocks).
The Shack
This book is a wonderful way to look at humanity and immortality all at the same time. It made me cry at some points and laugh at others. One thing is for sure...it is good for the soul. Keep in mind it is unorthodox so keep an open mind and you will love this book!!
The Secret Supper The year is 1497 and Javier Sierra accompanies us back in time to an era when the wealthy leaders of the communities of Milan and Florence and Rome had an unimaginably huge impact on the course of the great Roman Catholic Church.
The Secret Soldier Retired CIA Agent John Wells is called upon by the King of Saudi Arabia to investigate a series of terrorist attacks that may or may not have ties to the Saudi royal family. Just as the King doesn't know who to trust, Wells soon finds out that he can't be sure who to trust, either in Arabia or in Washington.

The Secret Servant (Gabriel Allon) The story is fast paced, intriguing, inormative and scary. Typical Silva, which means a fine read is in store for those that venture into the world according to this author, which unfortunately is a world we are all slowly coming to recognize.
The Second Perimeter This action-packed fast paced espionage thriller is top rate because of the flawed hero. DeMarco is not sure of his next move as he has never dealt with spies before and worries that one mistake could cause someone's death even as he amusingly ridicules himself for not being James Bond light. Thus as he did in THE INSIDE RING, DeMarco takes the tale to lofty quality heights.
The Second Messiah: A Thriller The theme of this interesting thriller is when religion and politics converge the effect is carnage in the name of the Lord. Jack is a sort of modern day crusader trying to bring the truth out into open although veracity will shatter Jewish and Christian belief systems. The Pope believes the truth will strengthen the faith of the flock who are divided between
radical fundamentalists and agnostics as the Church is left behind. Loaded with action, this fast-paced thriller takes reader on a fascinating journey from the opening discovery to the climatic discovery.
The Second Duchess With homage to Robert Browning's "My Last Duchess", Elizabeth Loupas writes a powerful Renaissance biographical fiction starring a brave intelligent heroine who walks on an extremely thin tightrope that is being shaken by wicked whisperers, avaricious adversaries and her harsh husband. Readers, even those who know the history of Barbara, will wonder whether her Alfonso will prove to be a widower maker in this delightful glimpse into the late sixteenth century court of Ferrara.
The Sea of Monsters (Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Book 2) Rick Riordan does a great job with this book. I like how the flow of the story fits in with the action theme. Riordan also pleases me with a splash of humor in this book. He also creates such great details on his characters that they come to life for me. Also, the spunk of Percy and his friends adds spark to the story. The creativity of the mixing of the Greek religion and modern day society produces an interesting blend. Whoever thought that Greeks were boring obviously never read this book. His creativity really makes this book shine. A two thumbs up book for any reader. I especially recommend this book for bookworms and fantasy readers, this book will really satisfy you.

The Scorpion's Gate The story can be a little muddled, and Clarke writes without a huge amount of detail, so the book goes by fast. But it's fairly clear by the end who had what to gain, and how they went about trying to do it.
The Savage Garden While Mark Mills has intertwined history with a marvelous puzzle, that's not the best part about THE SAVAGE GARDEN. The best part is the joy of losing oneself to the beauty of the Tuscan countryside in the late 1950s and relishing a less frenetic era through the eyes of a clever young man. Better yet, the startling conclusion leads to a highly satisfying ending. One always wants justice to be served.
The Mammoth Book of New Sherlock Holmes Adventures First let me say that this is an excellent book and a must read for all fans of Sherlock Holmes. If you don't already have it, you could be in for a real treat! But let the buyer beware, this is at least the third time this has come out with a new cover. I got trapped in one of these, but I did get a hardcover edition to replace my trade paperback edition, so still a win!
The Griffin's Flight I still wanted to know what happened next, and as always Taylor produces a story that does not follow conventional paths. There's the satisfying sense of anti-hero who's going to have to fight really hard to escape his wyrd. Whether he succeeds is another matter, and I sense Taylor is an author who isn't scared of letting her hero fail.
The Glass Room I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have only recently come acroos Vera and what a delightful cop she is. I found the story line intriguing and kept me guessing all the way through and the sense of suspense was maintained throughout...

The Dakota Cipher: An Ethan Gage Adventure
Ethan Gage is enjoying his stay in Paris as Napoleon has forgiven him for the Battle at Acre. His goal is to enjoy the Emperor's married sister Pauline. However, after spending a delightful night with Pauline, thugs kidnap Ethan and tie him up to some fireworks. Thanks to melted chocolate in his sleeves and luck, he escapes and looks like a hero to the crowd as he appears to be holding the torch of liberty during the gala. With Pauline's help, accompanied by Norwegian freedom fighter Magnus Bloodhammer, who seeks Thor's Hammer to free his people from the Danes, he escapes to America.
The Culling (The Torch Keeper) This is an amazingly well crafted dystopian. Dos Santos imagines a dark future where the state enforces brutality and lack of feeling by recruiting teens and putting them through a grueling military training. Each exercise is designed to take a little more human soul from the recruit...and if they refuse or fail in their task, they must choose a loved one to be executed.
The Crow Trap Author Ann Cleeves has created a completely original and engaging character with police detective Vera Stanhope. (For those familiar with the late RD Wingfield's wonderful police series, she is a female version of Det. Insp. Jack Frost!) Vera is loud, uncouth, and overweight. She is also keenly intelligent, shoots from the hip and does not suffer fools gladly. While Vera doesn't make her entrance until nearly midway through the story, there is enough psychological drama and tension to keep the most critical reader hooked.
The Children of Eternity "The Children of Eternity" is the fourth in Kenneth Zeigler's "The Tears of Heaven Series." The book introduces Christopher, Jerry, Jonathan, and Lilly who are called on to liberate more than 300 people taken into captivity by Satan's demonic invaders of heaven. They discover the power of the faith within them as they develop their special gifts and the work of the Holy Spirit as God's warriors in the War on Heaven.
Shift: A Virals Adventure Temperance can get herself into some really odd situations but that is what really makes these books such a great read. Her neice is walking in her footsteps which is why I love reading these books also.

Seizure (Virals #2) I totally could not put this book down, it was so different to any other Kathy Reichs books I have read.
Red Bones: A Thriller An archaeological dig has started on Whalsay Island where the remains of the oldest house in the area are rumored to have been. So methodically the team of Hattie James and Sophie are doing a painstakingly slow excavation to see what they can find.
Raven Black: Book One of the Shetland Island Quartet When I find a book like this, I want to share my enjoyment with the world of readers. It was truly one of the best I've read in a long time. From the first sentence to the last, it held my interest. I've never been to the Shetland Islands but I feel as though I have now. And, the psychological element of the characters is intriguing. Motives for the murders abound, and just when you think you know who the killer is, you're surprised at the ending. Ms. Cleeves has a wonderful writing style.
Napoleon's Pyramids I am a fan of historical fiction and the price was right so I took a chance. The story was fast paced and exciting. The history lessons and trivia were interesting. It seemed to be part Ken Follett, part Dan Brown. Overall, I found the story very good and look forward to the next installment.
Night Blade Wow...this book was just WOW with big jingly bells on. It has blown me away, if I loved Blade Song, the first book in the series, than I am practically humping Night Blade! Night Blade was fast paced and exciting, full of action and some shockers, J.C. Daniels isn't afraid to straight out knock you down with some of the events she wallops you with! Be warned the last few chapters of this book aren't for the faint hearted, I was crying like a baby by the final page but was still left panting for more.

Marathon Man William Goldman has a gift for creating three dimensional characters and larger than life situations that actually seem possible. Besides this his prose is entertaining with tight plotting. Of his fiction Marathon Man is a perfect example of all the features of Goldman's skills. I remember starting to read this a few hours before a really hot date. I became so engrossed in the plot, the twists and turns and tension growing within Marathon Man which initiated a first for me. I called and ended up cancelling the date just to finish the last 100 pages.
Midnight Come Again (Kate Shugak Mysteries) The star of a Kate Shugat novel is usually Alaska, but in MIDNIGHT COME AGAIN the emotionally raw lead protagonist takes center stage. Kate is in transition as she grieves her loss while struggling to learn how to live life without her heart. Dana Stabenow serves up a fascinating and emotionally moving story line that keeps the reader's interest from first page to last. Fans of unpredictable, event-laden tales with plenty of regional color will gain much pleasure from Ms. Stabenow's latest achievement.
Lilly of the Valley And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled (Revelation 6: 9-11).
If You Find Me A broken-down camper hidden deep in a national forest is the only home fifteen year-old Carey can remember. The trees keep guard over her threadbare existence, with the one bright spot being Carey’s younger sister, Jenessa, who depends on Carey for her very survival. All they have is each other, as their mentally ill mother comes and goes with greater frequency. Until that one fateful day their mother disappears for good, and two strangers arrive. Suddenly, the girls are taken from the woods and thrust into a bright and perplexing new world of high school, clothes and boys.
Hunter's Moon (Kate Shugak Mystery) The story starts out simply enough: Kate and her lover Jack Morgan, along with Kate's trusty half-wolf, half-husky Mutt, join feisty Old Sam and others as hired guides to a party of largely tenderfoot hunters. They've done work like this before, and they know all the pitfalls of such an escorted hunting trip, but this group of paid participants is more obnoxious than the average amateur: The entire group is from a multinational computer software company headquartered in Germany, and each of the teutonic wilderness wannabees is more obnoxious than the next. Before the first shot moose is cold, there has been an accidental shooting of a human being.

Dead in the Water (Kate Shugak Mystery) Kate Shugak is a former Anchorage investigator who has recently moved to Denali National Park and begun working on freelance investigations. In "Dead in the Water", Kate finds herself going undercover to work as a deckhand on the crabbing ship "Avelda". Kate is supposed to be gathering background information on the ship's captain Harry Gault, in order to solve the disappearance of two other crew members the previous March.
Day of Doom: The 39 Clues, Cahills vs. Vespers Book 6 It started with a kidnapping. A shadowy organization known only as the Vespers snatched seven members of the Cahill family and demanded a series of bizarre ransoms from around the world. Thirteen-year-old Dan Cahill and his older sister Amy began a global treasure hunt, determined to bring back whatever Vesper One needed, so long as it kept the hostages safe.
Blue Lightning: A Thriller I found this book so good that it surprised me not once, not twice but three times. I was shocked at some of the choices the author made and really hope she decides to extend the series. I found the bird watching information really helpful to the story. I had never thought of the bird watching community having stars but it just goes to show you that every world has its own. I highly recommend this book.
Breakup (A Kate Shugak Mystery, Book 7) it seems that Dana Stabenow touches on a different aspect of Alaskan life in each book of this wonderful series. In Breakup, we are entertained with descriptions of springtime, when the ice and snow are breaking up and all sorts of weird things happen. Kate seems philosophical through it all from airplanes falling from nowhere to grizzlies appearing in her path. She attributes every situation to the time of year.
Blood Will Tell (A Kate Shugak Mystery, Book 6) This story begins with the quandry of coming out of the outhouse and finding a moose nearby.Kate Shugak solves this problem and stocks up on meat for an Alaskan winter. As the story continues she goes with her grandmother to Anchorage to help with tribal politics, family matters and corruption. Kate does a wonderful job on her boyfriend's exwife and gets talked into going to a party all dressed up.It is a mystery and a story of a women finding her identity. The end is quite a surprise and may bring tears. This series is terrific, informative, and most of all-well written.

A Taint in the Blood: A Kate Shugak Novel The plot isn't bad. A wealthy woman pays Kate a huge (unspecified) sum of money to get her mother out of jail after 30 years. The mother needs medical treatment and the daughter is afraid she'll die in prison. Kate investigates systematically, calling in favors from all over, and soon realizes several parts of the story are unexplained.
A Night Too Dark: A Kate Shugak Novel
I've always enjoyed the Kate Shugak novels and their view into the Park life in the wilds of Alaska. This one deals with the opening of a gold mine and the pros and cons of supporting it. The mine creates needed jobs but brings trouble with more people brought in for employment who have too much money and too little to spend it on. Everyone looks to Kate for answers on whether to support the proposed mine especially now that she's chair of the Niniltna Native Association.
A Grave Denied (Kate Shugak Mysteries, No. 13) Stabenow hits all of the right notes in portraying the off-again-on-again relationship between Kate and Jim and shows us a softer side of Kate as she relates to Johnny and her friends. The final chapter in the book is a warm portrayal of the Alaskan spirit when people go out of their way to help their neighbors. This is one of my favorite books in this wonderful series.
A Fine and Bitter Snow: A Kate Shugak Novel Dana Stabenow, lifelong Alaska resident, has important things to say about the preservation of the environment. And she says them while spinning a good murder mystery. The new Old-Boy Oil Administration in Washington wants to drill for oil in ANWR and they're dumping the long-time Park Ranger who may disagree with their agenda. An environmentalist is killed, her friend critically injured, and Kate Shugak and her endearing wolf/dog Mutt are on the case. Meanwhile, Kate's personal life is sloping towards a seismic shift. Hang on, folks, we're in for a bumpy ride!
A Fatal Thaw Mystery and a peek into Alaskan lifestyle combine to make for good reading. A good plot and finely drawn characters are a plus. Made me want more of Ms. Stabenow's stories.

A Deeper Sleep (Kate Shugak Mysteries, No. 15) Lastly, there is the question of the role Kate is to take within the community. The board members of the native corporation are the tribe's elders and leaders, and everyone except Kate agrees that she should be one of them. She doesn't want to be, and yet even she is beginning to realize that it is inevitable. Kate is growing up..
A Cold Blooded Business Kate is asked to go undercover as an employee for Royal Petroleum to find out who is dealing drugs that have caused several overdoses and a death at RPetCo. Jack, the Anchorage DA, has asked Kate to take this job and for good pay, more money than Kate has seen in a long time. She agrees to take the job and goes to the North Slope of Prudhoe Bay as a driver taking dignitaries on PR tours. Kate finds out soon enough that this is not going to be an easy job. While she is there, there is an archeological dig going on and some Native American artifacts are found which Kate is very interested in and she gets caught up in the findings. This becomes a distraction to her as she goes about her investigation to find the drug dealer.
A Cold Day for Murder: A Kate Shugak Mystery Kate Shugak is a loner. She's a loner on a homestead on federal land in Alaska. She's a loner because she killed a child abuser years ago and it haunts her. It left physical and mental scars. All of this makes Kate a unique personality in mystery fiction. But she also has friends-half the people on the tribal grounds are relatives and many of the others are good friends. They add more unique flavor to this mystery. Kate is called in to find a friend who went missing while searching for a congressman's son who is missing.
The Striker (An Isaac Bell Adventure) This is not thought provoking loaded with abstract thought and argument. This is brain candy. It is what you read after a hard day at work and you just need to recharge. A good read. Typical Cussler-lots of action and the good guys will in the end kick some villian ass.
The Shadow Queen: A Novel of Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor What's fact and what's fiction, is difficult to know. This story kept me intrigued, even with some controversial goings on! Is this a fair look at Wallis Simpson? I guess I'll never know. I do plan to research Wallis and perhaps get a clearer picture of her personality and life.

Dead Letter Day (A Messenger Novel) LOVE the characters, love getting into their minds, personas, and lives. The latest development with Melina is intriguing, love the cows....how could you not enjoy psychotic cows?!? Love how Eileen Rendahl incorporates real myths, legends, and things that go bump into her stories! Can't wait to read more! This is turning into a great series!!
Quicksilver I really enjoyed this novel, especially as Tori makes some new friends, such as Milo, and also learns that not everyone she's been able to trust in the past is as trustworthy as they seem. For a while, the story was just chugging along, and I was blissfully enjoying it, though I'd say the action lulled on occasion, but then Anderson threw in a twist that made me sit straight up and scream at the betrayal. I couldn't believe it... after everything that happened in Ultraviolet and within this novel itself, well, I nearly died. I was so angry! All I'm going to say is that Tori is a much better person than I am...
The Colossus Rises This book had me hooked in the first chapter. I started recommending this to everyone at the start of chapter two. I read until dawn because there wasn't a good spot to pause and sleep, trust me I tried but I kept turning the lamp on. Its a must read for Harry Potter and Children of the Lamp fans. The writting style and over all feel of this book translated perfectly into a movie in my head.
Unspoken (The Lynburn Legacy Book 1) There's a lot to like about this book. It has the same quirky humor that I've grown to love in Brennan's work, and laughed out loud several times. There are some terrific characters. My favorite was Holly, a girl who has only hung out with guys to this point because she developed way too early to the jealousy of the rest of the female population. There's also Angela, the best friend, who for some reason is always sleepy. There are some great twists near the end of the book, which made my four star rating a reality. I definitely wasn't expecting some of them, and they kept coming.
Wickett's Remedy Lydia's story also has marginalia from the whisperings of dead people commenting and contradicting on the narrative. I loved that. I was a lot less interested in all of the QD soda materials and tended to skim them. Each chapter ended with these, as well as excerpts from newspaper articles about the epidemic, and odd unrelated sequences of dialogue
from patients, soldiers, random people. Very post-modern, but the only part of it that really worked for me was the marginalia. I was a lot more interested in Lydia than in Driscoll.

Until I Die (Revenants) Until I die, continues an original fantasy series that breathes new creatures into a genre flooded with the same old beasties. The focus of the tension is on relationships and mythology, so I will say if you're looking for an action fantasy this might not be your cup of tea. However, that doesn't mean this book isn't more hard hitting than your average 'fluffy' supernatural romance.
Thunderball THUNDERBALL is a very interesting Ian Fleming James Bond novel. I found the first two thirds of the novel very well written. The final third of the novel seems to lose all its steam and sinks into literary mediocrity and that's what really interests me. The first third of this novel contains some of the best prose that Fleming ever put on paper. It is rich in detail and thoroughly engrossing.
The Wildfire Season Miles McEwan moved to literally the end of the road when he relocated to Ross River in the Yukon to become the tiny hamlet's fire chief as he hides from his past though he cannot elude the fiery burn scars that mark and mock his face. Though he drinks a lot to somewhat bury his mental anguish that haunts him, Miles is also aware that he must remain somewhat sober as this is the area's inferno season when forest fires tend to go out of control.
The Trade Mission What I loved most about THE TRADE MISSION is the way it tellsa compelling, thrilling, thoughtful story, while at the same time tackling some of the most important questions that accompany living in the contemporary world: the negotiations between individual identity, technology, morality in an age when traditional moral guidance has all but disappeared. Pyper is a fine and original writer, to boot.
The Spy Who Loved Me If you enjoy classic noir, pulp adventure novels (as I do), then you owe it to yourself to read this one. It's got virtually all the classic tropes and first-class writing. This story could easily be adapted to film w/o changing anything except the name "James Bond," and it wouldn't look out-of-place on a shelf next to Reservoir Dogs or even as a segment in a film like Pulp Fiction. Most people probably wouldn't even realize they were enjoying a James Bond story.

The Romanov Cross I found the book impossible to put down. Given the events described stemming from 1918 the Spanish flu, the possible survival of Anastasia and admitting them into the scenario allows the reader to enjoy a great story, and the work of a writer that is in complete command of plot and character building. The novel requires an acceptance of the supernatural events depicted but than the read is fascinating. There is no doubt that the reader will grab Mr. Masello's next book when available and place him on their list of exciting authors.
Stone Rain Stone Rain is good in that we get to learn a lot more about one of the other main characters in Barclay's debut novel Bad Move in Trixie. Like the other two sequels before this, Barclay does like to recount what went on in the former novels just for the sake of it when it isn't necessary for the story so I highly recommend reading these in order so your surprise and enjoyment factor isn't lessened. Plus you've still got the need for very convenient things to happen for Zack to get out of situations and the age old well why wouldn't you just call the cops when you're visiting the prison and the whole end part of the book wouldn't have needed to happen. Barclay has gone on to write a couple of independent storyline novels, this is the last in the Zack Walker series at the time of this review however this story leaves it open for more in the future. The standalone stories such written more like Harlan Coben novels than Carl Hiaasen who this series was compared to, such as the masterpieces No Time for Goodbye and Too Close to Home have however been a lot more successful so it may be a while before Barclay reintroduces Zack to the pages. If you haven't already done so, go and grab a copy of Bad Move and see just how good a character Zack Walker was before he lost the teach his family lessons, extreme cotton wool parenting trait.
Stitch Me Deadly: An Embroidery Mystery While these stories have a needlework theme, set in a beautiful town, they are for anyone who enjoys a good mystery. A story that touches all of your senses, from the feel of the floss and yarn, the view of the Oregon coast, the smell and the taste of the goodies from MacKenzies' Mochas, the sounds of the falling rain, it also engages your mind with the cleverly written mystery. This is a book that should definitely be on everyone's must read list.
Stillwater Creek I enjoyed this novel, and I especially liked the conclusion with its promise of brighter futures for a number of the characters. Two of the themes that caught my attention were dispossession and difference. In a number of ways, the experiences of Ilona and Zidra were similar to those of the indigenous girl Lorna Hunter and her family. Except, ironically, that in the Australia of the 1950s, Ilona and Zidra had a better chance of `fitting in'. On reading the novel, though, it became very clear that there are different degrees of difference and acceptance in Jingera.
Still Life
Ever wanted to be a fly on the wall? Unfortunately for wealthy, beautiful and happily married Casey Marshall she has become that proverbial fly. After being hit by a van at 50 mph and breaking nearly every bone in her body she is left in a coma. The police suspect foul play and since this is Joy Fielding of course there's foul play. Casey cannot move her body and cannot open her eyes. Imagine how terrifying that must be. Trapped! But Casey can hear. She can hear everything. Her two best friends, her troubled younger sister, and her adoring husband come in and out of her hospital room for months. Conversations, arguments and confessions are open for Casey's ears. Between visits, Casey spends her time remembering childhood moments with her dysfunctional family and many nannies, as well as, how she met her best friends and her husband. The stories are both touching and sad. As Casey struggles to open her eyes and make contact with the world the attempted killer becomes clear to the reader. I was shocked by the revelation. The suspense in this book is sometimes too much. I was literally on the edge of my seat. I wanted to scream "Wake up now!" The ending was a little disappointing. I wanted more of a confrontation between the attempted killer and victim. Overall, loved it! Great suspense.

Starcrossed The best thing about Starcrossed is that while you are kept in plenty of suspense to keep you sucked in, you are also given just the right amount of information to ensure that you never get overwhelmed or frustrated from a lack of information. This can be a hard balance to find, but Starcrossed does it perfectly. I'm really eager to see what happens next as there was a twist at the ends that can only spell trouble for the future. All in all Starcrossed was a really great read, that may have been a little slow to build at first, but it never once lost my attention. Prepared to be sucked in from almost the start and make sure to give yourself plenty of time to read this one as you won't be able to put it down. Definitely a fantastic debut that you won't want to miss if you are a fan of mythology in the YA genre.
Sputnik Sweetheart To some extent, all Murakami's books are tightly structured along a philosophical theme (i.e. life and death in Norwegian Wood, conscious and subconscious in Hard-boiled Wonderland, and despair and action in Dance Dance
Dance), but in Sputnik Sweetheart he goes into a territory less universal - sign and symbol, idea and spirit, and presence and absence.
Split Second (An FBI Thriller) If you have read any of her books especially the FBI Series you will love this one! It has all everything you expect from a Catherine Coulter novel and more! The characters are some of our old friends that we have come to love and respect mixed in with new friends that we will remember and see on down the road in future books as part of the ever growing FBI family! For those of you who have never read any of this series (if thats possible, Lol) you don't have to read any of the other books to enjoy this one. But you will definately want to!
Spectyr The fascinating bonds between the three of these characters continue to grow and change. There is no guessing what happens next at every turn. Everything about Spectyr was new and refreshing, with amazingly vivid action and suspense. If you are looking for a new Fantasy series, please look no further. If you have never tried a Fantasy series and are curious, please look no further.
Spider Bones The story she writes here, which takes place in locations from Montreal to North Carolina to Hawaii, involves a whole lot of different issues. Auto-erotic deaths, MIA/KIA's from Vietnam, shark-bitten bodies, Samoan gangs, daughterswith-problems, and an inactive love life are only a few of the diverse things Reichs touches on in "Spider Bones". The thing is, that as disconcerting as all this in-coming might be to a casual Reichs' reader, her fans come to expect it from her novels. I can't exactly compare Reichs' work with, say, Leo Tolstoy's, because she doesn't write as well. No one expects her to produce "War and Peace". She writes with workman-like prose and very odd plot lines. And does so fairly well.

The Master and Margarita As one would expect, the two stories are flawlessly woven together. Parallel plot lines and similarities between the characters in each story make the novel that much richer, that much more of a literary achievement. It is no surprise that most Russians consider this to be their finest example of 20th century literature.
The Namesake: A Commissario Alec Blume Novel There are too many really clever detectives...and even more reformed alcoholic ones who some how salvage shattered brain cells in the pursuit of justice. Four stars on a rainy couple of days.
The Man with the Golden Gun In the aftermath of his brainwashing by the Soviets, Bond is given one last chance to win back M’s trust: terminate Scaramanga before he strikes MI6 again. Traveling to Jamaica under an assumed name, Bond manages to infiltrate Scaramanga’s organization and soon discovers that the hit man’s criminal ambitions have expanded to include arson, drug smuggling, and industrial sabotage. Worst of all for Bond, Scaramanga has a golden bullet inscribed with the numbers 007 and he’s eager to put it to use.
The Killing Circle In the end, I enjoyed the book, the unique plot (I didn't come close to guessing the ending), and the writing kept me interested until past my bedtime. I have added Pyper's previous books to my eventual to-be-read list, but I won't go out a buy them ASAP. Overall The Killing Circle is solid read that I'll be happy to pass along to fellow mystery readers, but not something that I'd highly recommend.
The Holders THE HOLDERS feels very much like the first book in the series. There is a lot of set up and not much action until the climax. There's no chance of the Big Bad making even a brief appearance and his only minion on the scene is fairly
minor. That doesn't mean the action at the end isn't suitably exciting, but some might be disappointed that very little of THE HOLDERS is driven by magical hijinks. Most of the conflict stems from Becca's relationship with her father and her growing attraction Alex, one of the teachers at St. Brigid's.

The False Friend Twenty years after Celia’s best friend, Djuna, went missing, memories of that terrible day come rushing back including the lie Celia remembers having told to conceal her role in Djuna’s disappearance. But when Celia returns to her hometown to confess the truth, her family and childhood friends recall that day very differently. As Celia learns more about what may or may not have happened, she becomes increasingly uncertain whom she should trust.
The Clear Light of Day Recently ordained and more recently divorced, Reverend Esme Browne finds herself at an uncomfortable crossroads when stationed at the Portland Road Chapel. In addition to the seaside town, she also now bears the spiritual responsibility for two country chapels, which, for the efficient, well-versed, forty-something lifelong student should be exciting, invigorating and even hopeful. Esme, however, has forgotten how to pray, and, she fears, how to feel.
The Black Bullet (Sean O'brein Mystery/Thriller) I have read all of Tom Lowe's books and have thoroughly enjoyed every one. The Black Bullet continues the winning streak. Once again Sean O'Brien finds himself innocently drawn into a potentially deadly situation just by dropping anchor into the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of St. Augustine on a fishing trip. The anchor is stuck on something and when he and his buddy dive down to see what it is, they discover a sunken U- boat from WW II with a deadly cargo. At this point all hell breaks loose and I couldn't put the book down. There's always something in Tom Lowe's books that keeps me thinking long after I have finished reading. I guess it's because the stories Tom Lowe tells ring true and that can be a little scarry.
Sorcerer's Moon The plot lines are complicated, and require that the reader pay attention to who is who, and what is going on. But the payoff is worth it, as there is certain to be justice paid to those who richly deserve it, and a certain satisfaction at the end. For those of you out there who want a sophisticated fantasy series with plenty of action, true emotions, and some truly devious monsters and players, this set of books should do very nicely.
So Cold the River This book begins with The protagonist Eric Shaw at a funeral watching with the family the DVD video that he created of the deceased's life.He was trained as a film maker but has had issues with the people he worked with. When he

Ripper I don't want to go too in-depth since this is mostly saved for the ending and would be full of spoilers for you. But I find the mystery of Jack the Ripper so intriguing that I didn't feel the paranormal elements added much. And while there are some terrifying sections, I found the pacing pretty slow especially in the beginning which made it hard to keep my attention on the story.
Revenge of the Girl With the Great Personality I read and loved Elizabeth Eulberg's Take a Bow last year - I thought it was amazing and stunning and in all ways, fantastic. I had some... different feelings with her latest book. I thought that the story would focus mainly on getting revenge on those who wronged you and blooming out of your wallflower. But what I got was a lot of pageant scenes and snobby, little girls. It just wasn't what I was expecting, so it definitely gave me some trouble.
Reign of Blood The writing style is simple, yet packs a punch for the reader. I felt everything that our main character, April felt. Alexia developed her characters, allowing them to grow with the story. I sat up all night to finish April's journey and I was not disappointed! This is a MUST read for any fantasy lover!
Panic: A Leopold Blake Thriller The story rips along at a pace, introducing some intriguing characters, interesting locations and its fair share of plot twists and teasers - including a tantalising lead on to the second book in the series This is definitely for you if you like an exciting thriller in the Dan Brown sort of mould, although it doesn't have the same sense of delving into e.g. symbology/religion/science if that's your thing - it's a gritty straight up crime fiction and there are plenty of violent confrontations instead!
On Her Majesty's Secret Service I always loved the Sean Connery movies better than the other actors. One of the reasons was he had more of a '60s' high-society flare. More Mission Impossible than Charlies Angels. One of the benefits of these books is they benefit
from being written in the 60s. The characters, the situations, the bad guys, the women are all laced with everything I liked about Sean Connery Bond, but even more so.

Octopussy and The Living Daylights Living Daylights in my favorite of the stories. Bond has been ordred to Germany to take out a sniper so an agent can escape to the West. This is not a nice job and Bond spends a surprising amount of time considering his distaste about the job. The little details about Bond's preparations, his school marmish old contact, the velvet snipers uniform and walking and eating around Germany are all fascinating. And in the end Bond makes a decison about the Russian sniper and his fellow agent whom he's been sent to save.
Moonraker The plot is low-key enough, the villain suitably overblown and the heroine so irresistable as to make this compelling reading. Drax's monologue towards the end is so well done and Fleming keeps the twists and turns coming at a fast enough pace that the reader can easily overlook the improbabilities and plot holes and simply enjoy the book.
Legions of Orion (Star Crusades Nexus, Book 1) Legions of Orion is the first book in the epic new series set in the Star Crusades universe that chronicles humanity's first steps away from Alpha Centauri and beyond. A chance discovery on the jungle world of Hyperion leads Alliance scientists on a path to creating a permanent spacebridge to the distant Orion Nebula. In a matter of days, great fleets of military and civilian ships depart for the single greatest expedition since the colonisation of Alpha Centauri. Into this great adventure travel two heroes of the war, retired Marines Spartan and Teresa Morato, and their son Jack. Now senior members of an elite private military corporation, they are at the heart of the Alliance bold new plan.
Machine Gods (Star Crusades Nexus, Book 2) This book is action packed from cover to cover. Cant wait for the next one to come out. I have been reading this series since it first came out.
Heroes of Helios (Star Crusades Nexus, Book 3) Michael Thomas has continued with tradition of producing great books. This books does a great job of showing how Spartin's son is growing up and making his own path. I am excited for the next book as the series is starting to really build.

Live and Let Die Ian Fleming readers will know what they are getting, and fans of the movie may not. This is the second Bond outing in novel form, the first being CASINO ROYALE. But like the movies, it's unnecessary to see or read them in order. There are a few references to the first novel, mostly vague "from the Royale incident" statements, but nothing major.
Legacy of the Clockwork Key (Secret Order) I gotta say the cover of this book is fantastic! Very eye catching! This book is considered YA Steampunk. It does have elements of steampunk, a Victorian era feel taking place in England with a thrilling adventure full of inventions, secrets and murder. In my opinion a great read for the young adult world. The main character Meg has recently been orphaned with the tragic death of her parents. All she has left is a pocket watch that she keeps around her neck.
Ironcrown Moon The omniscient narrator tends to forget that the characters are not (meant to be) omniscient, and central figures keep picking up key bits of information almost at random. The magic system is barely examined, and is highly inconsistent for example, "windscrying" (clairvoyance) is widely used, but virtually no one takes even simple precautions against it.
Iris and Ruby I found this book while we were wandering in Canada. What an outstanding piece of writing. You are transported to Cairo and dance between World War II and today. This is some of the best writing I have experienced about life in Egypt. Iris and Ruby
Grim Tides Another great book of the series. The only one I haven't read of the series was the broken mirrors because I like Marla so much and didn't want to experience her loss of Felport. I'm really excited to see where her new life will take her with the decision she made at the end of this book. I also appreciate the complexity of family relationship in this one. I hope the series continues and can't wait to see the next...

Gone to Ground The murdered body of a gay academic is found in his own shower, savagely beaten and almost unrecognizable. The police start an investigation with detectives Will Grayson and Helen Walker as the leads and they naturally home straight in on the victim's former lover, whom they question at length but fail in making any connection with the crime. The area where the man lived is home to a number of homophobic thugs, all of whom have taken part in random and often mistaken bashings on anyone they choose. It's an ugly situation, made uglier by the poverty, ignorance and hooliganism of the East Midlands at that time.
Goldfinger This book was far ahead of its time, ignored for the most part after its initial publication, but selling in the millions after the film's release almost a decade later. Give Fleming credit for enormous creative powers in dreaming up a story that, with its castrating laser beams, deadly Korean bodyguards, obese villains and beautiful women, resonated deeply in the darkness of a movie theater. But Fleming's role in helping create modern blockbuster entertainment is only part of the story.
From Russia with Love
This is a classic spy novel by Ian Fleming. It is not a half-baked if well intentioned imitation. It presents Bond in his pristine form before filmmakers evolved him into a cartoon character. Ian Fleming blends the sophistication of the best English mystery writers such as Dorothy Sayers with the hard-boiled edginess of the best American detective fiction. The prose is clean, lean, and literate. Bond is an iron fist in a velvet glove. His taste in food and wine is flawless. He kills with grim determination, as needed. Snobbery is evident in his character. Bond does not tolerate fools gladly.
For Your Eyes Only All five stories included are good, but somehow uneven, making the overall rating hard to decide between a 7 and a 10. The first one, "From a View to a Kill", is fast-paced, good writing with a thrilling episode showing 007 in a motorbike being consciuosly chased by a foreign assassin. The hidden base of the unnamed enemies is another preview of the ellaborate headquarters Bond nemesis would use in the films. M is not present this time. This title was cut to "A View to a Kill" for the film, which resembles nothing of this compact short story.
You Only Live Twice This is Ian Fleming's most mysterious and enigmatic James Bond novel. This is a direct follow up to "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." It starts out as a direct secret service story even though Bond is reassigned to the diplomatic section. As it progresses it becomes almost surrealistic as James Bond tracks down his arch nemesis on the island of Kyushu. This is a very well written and researched novel. The Japanese idioms and depictions of locale are exquisite. When the novel moves to Kuro Island and is on the threshold of Dr. Shaterhand's castle lair, Fleming approaches mythical horizons. I found this absorbing, haunting and prophetic novel very difficult to put down once I started reading it.

Dr. No This is my favorite James Bond novel. Ian Fleming created a character with a gargantuan appetite for the more worldly pleasures. For a land that could supply our hero with such an appetite Fleming chose his own beloved Jamaica. The melding of the story with the setting is Fleming at his best. Jamaica was a land of beauty, mystery and intrigue. Fleming captured this so well and gave us a remarkable villain to reflect that esoteric quality of the island.
Diamonds are Forever DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER marks the point in the James Bond series where Ian Fleming begins to tinker with the absurd. Later in the series, Dr. No is killed by falling guano, and Blofeld holds up on a Japanese "suicide island." In DAF, Bond takes a mud bath and fights a gangster who dresses up like a cowboy. Fleming writes that the gangster "should have looked ridiculous, but he didn't" in his western regalia. Funny, his description reads like he looks ridiculous.
Dead Reign
The chief guardian sorceress of the large East Coast city Felport Marla Mason is looking forward to the upcoming Founders' Ball after barely surviving the attempts on her life by a mercenary psychic assassin (see POISON SLEEP). However, a hunk arrives in town with two dangerous followers reanimated John Wilkes Booth and a psycho necromancer. The newcomer, with sexy looks to die for, insists he is Walking Death, chief of the underworld. He orders Marla to give him the magical dagger that signifies her position as the chief guardian. She tells him to go to Hell. Fuming with fiery brimstone, Walking Death sends Marla to the underground.
Chosen by Fate (A Para-Ops Novel) When I read Virna's first book I knew Wraith was going to be different. I was right. She doesn't remember how she became a wraith or even her name. All she knows is she can't be touched. It causes extreme pain. Enter Caleb. Shaman and coworker. I loved this book. Virna does not disappoint. Can't wait for Dex next!!
Chasing the Dead This is definitely an author I'm going to follow. I think the most stark sentence I've ever read in a book is "I died quickly". Would and have recommended this book.

Caught This story takes more twists and turns than an old country road and you better be belted in. It is a story filled with tension, stress, pressure, that challenges the reader. It is a thrilling, gripping, spine tingling novel that deals with things that could only be seen on television setting up shop in this community.
Casino Royale When Ian Fleming set pen to paper to write about things he knew well, having been involved during WWII with such matters, he tailored the figure of Bond on things he not only knew well but fashioned Bond after many things he, Fleming, spent his entire life pursuing. While Bond is not an exact clone of Fleming he is most certainly somewhat Ian Fleming's near shadow.
Bad Girls Don't Die Her four-person family is far from perfect, but they have always managed to get by, in their spooky architectural jumble of a house. Alexis' mother spends more time at work than at home, but so do millions of other moms across America. Kasey, her doll-obsessed little sister, is sometimes too passive for her own good, but hopefully the dollcollecting is something she will grow out of. As for her father, they aren't exactly close, but he could be worse.
