Poppet (Jack Caffery) Just stumbled across this book whilst looking for the new Mark Billingham. I read the first chapter before I bought it and was hooked!!! Could not put it down. Gripping. Exciting. What's going to happen next??? Lots of twists and turns. I am now going to have to read all of the authors other books...a great read if you like a fast paced British police crime thriller..which I do!!

Sleight of Hand: A Novel of Suspense This is the first book I've read by this author and was impressed with his ability to take multiple storylines and complex characters and bring them together in a way that held got and held my attention. The only negative for me was some of the language used, but the plot itself and how it all unfolded was everything I want in a good suspense novel.

Taking Eve: An Eve Duncan Novel The only thing I didn't like about this book is having to wait till the next one to be published. I am a reader not a writer so not sure what to write. I have read every book Iris Johansen has written and always waiting for her next book. I am 61 years old and started a love for books in the 5th grade. I do have my favorite authors, but always on the lookout for new authors. Eve Duncan sometimes seems alive and her love for Bonnie and Jane is so intense and strong that it hurts sometimes to read. The book was hard to put down and I read it in less than a day. Enjoy the book, I did. Bonnie

Mulberry Park In a small neighborhood, coincidences are inevitable, and there's never any feeling of the characters being manipulated in this book. Each event arises naturally out of its own situation, and the characters build on their own shaky foundations of mistakes and mistrust. But somehow there's a feeling, as in any good story and in the faith of a little girl who writes letters to God that life's not entirely random. Death's not the end, and hope is never lost.

Manuscript Found in Accra The setting is Jerusalem in 1099 AD. A diverse crowd of people has gathered in dreaded anticipation of the destruction of their city by an army of advancing Crusaders. A mysterious man known only as The Copt arises and begins to speak to them. What follows is a night of questions and answers through which The Copt pours forth ancient wisdom to the anxious listeners.

Leaving Everything Most Loved: A Maisie Dobbs Novel This is a complex, textured, and satisfying historical mystery (although the plot hinges on several coincidences that may give readers pause) in which Maisie slowly gathers and puts together various puzzle pieces until a complete picture emerges. The characters are well-defined. We meet Usha briefly but learn a great deal about her kindness, special talent, and ambition from those who knew her.

Instant Mom This book was honest, funny and true to life. We,too, adopted our children through the US foster system after a long struggle with many different alternative options. It was the right choice for us and made us "instant" and grateful parents to two beautiful children. It is an option that more families should know about and hopefully this book will help to spread the word!

Game: The Sequel to 'I Hunt Killers' This was an incredible read! I could not put the book down. I raced through the 500 plus pages in two sittings, and literally screamed at the end because I want the next chapter in the story of Billy and Jasper Dent. I have recommended I Hunt Killers to dozens of people and all have loved it. I really cannot state how much better this one is. You will need to read it and see.

Complete Adventures of Allan Quatermain H. Rider Haggards most famous hero Allan Quatermain is an English-born professional big game hunter and occasional trader in southern Africa. An imperial outdoorsman who finds English cities and climate unbearable who prefers to spend most of his life in Africa, where he grew up.

Father Gaetano's Puppet Catechism: A Novella It's amazing how much they pack into so few pages. "Father Gaetano's Puppet Catechism" is a short book, more of a novella than a novel, but of exactly the right length. I am glad that they didn't try to pad out the story with more length than they needed. Many of my favorite authors like Poe, Lovecraft, Hodgson, and Howard wrote in the short fiction

genre. Often you can tell a much more powerful story in fewer pages. It's like making a balsamic reduction the more you reduce the volume the more concentrated and potent the flavor.

Falling into Forever This was the perfect sequel to Falling Into You. I loved the storyline and the maturity of the characters. I finished the book in a few hours so I would have liked it to be longer, maybe going more into their new life together.

Demon Untamed This book is a great addition to the Shadow quest series. I can't believe it is Fay's first series. I can't wait to read more in this series. I just hope its not a long wait. Shadow quest is a must read for the pararomance lover. If you enjoyed books by Larissa Ione, Evangeline Anderson, or Michelle Pillow, you will LOVE Kiersten Fay.

Dead Silence: A Body Finder Novel Those who have enjoyed the first three books in this series should find this one as equally entertaining. Although I found this book to be very good I don't think it topped The Last Echo. Regardless, Dead Silence wraps up a lot of loose ends but the ending leaves a huge opening for a lot of new possibilities which I'm hoping Derting will take advantage of. Overall I think the entire Body Finder series is fantastic, written well, and brings something new to the paranormal romance genre. Definitely a uniquely devised story with remarkable characters.

Darker Than Any Shadow: A Tai Randolph Mystery Guns and Poets. In this second in the series of Tai Randolph mysteries set in Atlanta, Tai Randolph's friend Trey Seaver, a former APD cop turned security maven is hired to run security at a national poetry recital contest. A fire breaks out, a poet dies and Tai's friend Rico is the main suspect. To the investigation goes Tai.

Ctrl Z There are some side plots going on and they keep the story moving along at a nice, even clip even when the main story is not the focus. Overall I was impressed with this author's work and would recommend it to others who like books that have a bit of spice, danger and excitement beyond what you find in many other novels of the genre.

Crap Kingdom The story is fun and refreshing, and embodies the attitude of my generation. I appreciated the pop culture references smattered throughout. The protagonist is definitely in the antihero/slacker vein that is gaining popularity with my generation. I have never been a slacker, but DC made me understand how someone can be, and made them empathetic to me.

Broken Promises (Broken Series) (Volume 1) After three years in Boston attending college, Mallory Wells has come home to Casper, Maine to care for her father, who is dying from cancer. She left Casper without looking back, leaving her small-town life and everyone in it, behind. Including her sexy high school sweetheart. Luke Bates was devastated when Mallory left him for the city life. He managed to pull himself together and move on, even if only just barely. When Mallory shows up in town, Luke vows to stay away from her at all costs. So why does he want to spend as much time with her as he can? He knows she's going back to Boston eventually, but he just can't resist the lure of Mallory. Even if it means he's heartbroken again when she leaves.

Bluewicked (A Watermagic Novella) Sexy mers, Laurent and Sabine are matched to be together forever, but Laurent discards her like trash. It doesn't matter that she is one of the most beautiful, seductive creatures that ever walked on land or swam the depths of the sea. He won't have her. But Sabine can't accept that. She will kill any girl who falls in love with him.

Bitter Drink The characters are all memorable, the atmosphere appropriately druggy, dangerous, and degenerate. As with most successful noir stories, the threat of violence makes as much of an impact as the actual violence. The narrative moves like gangbusters, and the suspense of not being sure of the loyalty of any character makes for a fascinating dance on the edge of a cliff.

Blood, Ash, and Bone: A Tai Randolph Series Tai Randolph and her boyfriend,Trey, plan to sell memorabilla and relax at a Civil War re-enactment. But a former boyfriend of Tai's and an important client of Trey's intrude on the couple's mini-vacation. Leaving them both to deal with past relationships, a Civil War Bible, and a murder. Interesting and easy to read.

Blood for Wolves Now, Caroline has no idea how to get home, and the Kingdom once ruled by Little Red Riding Hood herself—is in trouble. Her only guide is a man named Wolf, whose golden eyes and oh-my-what-big-teeth-you-have are as startling as they are enticing. Caroline isn’t willing to leave without knowing the young girl is safe, but that means sticking with Wolf. Especially since her only other option is to wander around a fairytale forest alone.

Betting on Hope The author draws home the point that not everyone participating in a card game is a bad person or addicted. I really love how the "hero" in the story helps Hope achieve her goals. This is an enjoyable book with a lot of humor. The characters are each well defined. I would not recommend this for a young adult audience because of both gambling and a physical relationship between the two main characters.

Better off Dead: A Lucy Hart, Deathdealer Novel Book One. New Adult Paranormal Romance Lucy Hart, eighteen-year-old queen bee and captain of the cheer squad, faces just that. She loses everything money, social status, and even her home when her father is arrested for tax evasion and immigrant slave trafficking. Reduced to flipping burgers, she plots to get her old life back, blackmailing her father’s slime ball lawyer, and scheming her way into a gig pretending to be a rich young man’s “fiancee.” The pay: enough money to let her write her own future. The bad news the guy is a condescending pain in the butt.

A World Apart: The Jake Thomas Trilogy (Volume 1) A world apart is a great story filled with fantasy and adventure. I found it to be an easy read and felt the author kept the action moving forward (no real lulls). He also did a great job in describing his new world and characters. His words painted vivid pictures in my imagination. I am looking forward to the next two books in this trilogy!

Banging the Boy Next Door Melissa Smyth is enraged when her parents enlist the help of their next door neighbor to look after the house while they are away, not trusting Melissa to do it. Determined to prove she's in charge, Melissa decides to use all her feminine wiles to make her geeky neighbor regret his decision. But little does she know that Rory Thompson has ideas

of his own. He's been travelling for the last three years and is geeky no longer. As these two old adversaries come together, who will come out on top? One thing is for sure - sparks will fly.

A Scandal in the Headlines This book is the seventh in the exciting Sicily's Coretti Dynasty continuity, starting in May and featuring books by some of your favorite Presents authors: Carol Marinelli, Sarah Morgan, Abby Green, Kate Hewitt, Sharon Kendrick, Lynn Raye Harris, Maisey Yates and yours truly!

A Hunger for the Forbidden "There are rules tonight, Alessia, and you will play by them.’ ‘Will I?’ she asked. She wasn’t sure why she was goading him. Maybe because it was the only way in all the world she could feel like she had some power."

The Persona Protocol The latest thriller from bestselling author, Andy McDermott. For fans of Tom Clancy and Matthew Reilly. Adam Gray is the ultimate spy. As the lead agent of the US government's top-secret Persona project, he is its most valuable weapon in the War on Terror. Experimental technology enables him to take on the personality - and memories - of anyone be it a Russian arms dealer, a high-stakes gambler or a nuclear scientist. Whatever secrets they know, he knows.

Whiskey Beach This novel was a good read, very emotional, and I needed a change, from all the horror books... So, for me it was a nice ocean, side break, where I could hear the waves crashing against the rocks below, with an air of mystery and romance, just a great vacation.... Nora Robert's will never fail to disappoint or entertain me ever....

The Book of Q 'The Book of Q' is, at points, far-fetched and contrived. But, hey, this IS fiction. My biggest complaint is the unnecessary detail Rabb uses in his descriptions of the various locales used in the book. Without providing maps to reference, his use of exact street names, as well as exact landmarks, often ends up being frustrating, and distracts from the story. Unless, of course, you have actually been to Vatican City and the other places described in the book.

The Firstborn: A Thriller I didn't see false doctrine or new age teaching, just a storyworld with clearly fabricated spiritual gifts (this is fiction) that conveyed a real life lesson Christians need to read about and hopefully allow into their hearts. The end doesn't always justify the means, but following the God of Love is crucial. Conlan did a great job showing these things without distorting the heart of the Scriptures. Bravo!

The House of Yeel What a great fantasy! Light hearted and amusing, it's a tale about a quest with some very interesting characters. The author takes a fairly standard quest and adds all sort of intriguing twists (like how they "camp"). Perhaps the most delightful part is the characters themselves, Yeel in particular. For example, the author gives Yeel some delightful attributes (like how he remembers things) leading to dialog that is quite humorous.

The Overseer: A Thriller (The Firstborn)

Strong verbs, fast non-stop action create a building sense of suspense as Brown's characters struggle with fear, pride, and a lust for power while trying to be true to their calling to help mankind and their unique gift of see the past, present, or the future.

The Totems of Abydos In a far future, two anthropologists, gross, powerful, dissolute Emilio Rodriguez, and aspiring, young, naive Allan Brenner, who, unbeknownst to himself, carries ancient genes, of a sort no longer welcome on Home World, have been assigned to conduct a study on Abydos, a deeply forested, wilderness planet of little note, whose only evidence of civilization is a single enclave, small, rough, dingy Company Station, a fueling station occasionally utilized by star freighters. Within the forest, some days from Company Station, are the Pons, a group of small, simian-seeming organisms which seems near the crossroads between animal and rational creature, between nature and culture.

The Wish List I'd been looking forward to reading the Wish List for ages now. I didn't like Jane Costello's previous novel, All the Single Ladies, much at all. This book has everything that a Jane Costello novel has- drama, friendship, humour, and love. I'd highly recommend this book!

Touched

I'd also like to point out that I think many people are going to mistake Touched as being a paranormal book. While it certainly does have many paranormal aspects, I would prefer to call it a contemporary novel with paranormal elements. This book has deeper messages and meanings then just a teen with the gift/curse of foresight. My one and only complaint about Touched is the ending. It wrapped up just a tad bit too nice and neat for my tastes.

What Really Happened in Peru Oh Magnus! Why do you have to be so awesome? What Really Happened in Peru is a collection of a few short stories of Magnus's adventures in Peru over the years. It really gives you some insight on Magnus and how he thinks. Throughout the story I couldn't stop laughing my head off. My face was probably red. I had trouble breathing at times. To say I liked it is a tremendous understatement. It is a wonderful edition to the Shadowhunter Chronicles. I can't wait until the next book comes out!

What Doesn't Kill You What Doesn't Kill You is a definite nail-biter! The suspense in incredible! I was left breathless throughout! Recruited by the CIA, Catherine will do anything to protect those she loves... Hu Chang and her son Luke. Through flashback we witness what she did in the past and we understand the cruelty that she'd endured and what she did in order to escape captivity. No child should be sold into slavery as a prostitute and made to live the life she did. There is a lot of "Kick Butt" action that will keep you on the edge.

You When Russell joins Black Arts games, brainchild of two visionary designers who were once his closest friends, he reunites with an eccentric crew of nerds hacking the frontiers of both technology and entertainment. In part, he's finally given up chasing the conventional path that has always seemed just out of reach. But mostly, he needs to know what happened to Simon, the strangest and most gifted friend he ever lost, who died under mysterious circumstances soon after Black Arts' breakout hit.

Shift - Omnibus Edition I bought every book as they came out. This is a great series, and my favorite sci-fi read of the past 4 or 5 years at least. If you like reading at all you should buy this book. There is so much to love about it. The characters are clear, the dialogue is incredible, and the descriptive aspects are wonderfully detailed while not being overly verbose.

Shadow and Light The book is written in a style that reveals little, and it forces the reader to pay attention. The plotting unfolds slowly, and the number of intertwined story lines can be a bit murky at times, but this is an excellent read.

Promise of Blood Promise of Blood is just the opening salvo then, one that establishes the world and the context of the Powder Mage trilogy, and it's one that at the moment that doesn't appear to extend much beyond the familiar subject of warring kingdoms. The devil however (and indeed the gods) is in the detail, in the realistic attention paid to the characters and the situation, and in the gradual revelation of what is at stake (and it's much bigger than you would initially think).

Questions for a Soldier Captain John Perry, in Old Man's War, did a goodwill tour of the colonies after the Battle of Coral. This is the Q&A session from one of those stops, on the colony world of New Goa. There's no story here, really just the back-and-forth between a combat veteran and some of the civilians the Colonial Defense Forces are defending-who have a variety of views of the CDF, the fact that it's composed entirely of old folks from Earth (colonists cannot enlist), and the perpetual state of war between humans and most other intelligent species they're in contact with. It's interesting, entertaining, and thoughtful.

One Grave Less: A Diane Fallon Forensic Investigation This book was an emotional page-turner with a wonderful ending. I don't want to give anything away, but I loved the book and especially loved the event that will change Diane`s life. I also gained a new appreciation of Diane's fiance Frank whom I wasn't sure I liked in earlier books of this series, but could see in this one how deeply he cares for Diane. I highly recommend this book to fans of the Diane Fallon series. New readers may want to start with some of the prior books first in order to fully enjoy the drama in this book.

One Grave at a Time: A Night Huntress Novel Overall, I liked this book. I thought it was better than her last but still not as good as the first ones. Again, my reasoning is that I enjoy the love story aspect more than the mystery. Frost is a talented author, and I will definitly check out her next book.

Once a Witch

All in all, I thought this was a fabulous novel. I laughed, a teared up a bit, a yelled at the bad guy, etc. I am really looking forward to more from this author and the series. There is a lot more that I want answered about Tasmin and her family, and I cannot wait to learn more.

Old School Years ago they tried to make her choose, with disastrous results. Now they want a second chance with a better plan. The fate of her future rests in their hands, and they’re not above using that fact to get everything they want.

Of Masques and Martyrs Book #3 continues where Book #2 left off. There is still a huge war between the good vampires versus evil vampires. The evil vampires have taken over the world and are hunting humans. The world used to have sympathy for vampires, but through senseless acts of violence and killing by Hannibal, vampires are hated amongst humans. This makes life even harder for the good vampires who want to live in harmony with humans. This book continues the war with the evil ones. The leader of the good vampires is still our hero Peter Octavian. This is an excellent vampire series. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Ode to a Banker This book explores the Roman world of the scriptorium and the Greek banking industry. The characters are interesting, and there are certainly a lot of them. The mystery develops slowly, or perhaps minimally until the end, but the story is enjoyable throughout the book. Overall, an enjoyable read but a slow plot.

Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far If you don't like the Palin's then don't buy the book and hate on it. The book is an easy read. Bristol is 20 years old. These are her feelings and perceptions. I could relate somewhat to her situation having become pregnant at 17 years old and coming from a family where these things were not discussed openly. I felt the same way that I needed to marry this person because I felt no one else would want me. While I knew some of her background already, the book filled in some of the blanks and I thought it was interesting. She is making the best of her situation and I commend her for it.

Now You See Me This book moves quickly and really gave me a workout as I tried to figure out the point the killer was trying to make... and what Lacey was trying to hide from everyone. Bolton lets us get to know Lacey and to trust her before putting her reliability in doubt. As the end of the book gets ever nearer, it's easy to feel that you've put all the pieces together and

solved all the mysteries. Don't be too cocksure of yourself, though. I would imagine that Bolton has more than one surprise in store for you.

Now You See Her Marcy Taggart has been hit with an emotional wallop, but she has not fallen. First her daughter was killed in a canoeing accident two years ago. The body was never found, so Marcy has never truly accepted her daughter's death. Her husband has moved on and left her for another woman. At fifty, Marcy is taking a tour of Ireland that was meant to be a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary trip. During a break at a pub, Marcy thinks she sees her daughter Devon walk past. Could her daughter still be alive and hiding out in Ireland to make a new start?

Northern Lights It's a story about privacy. Private lives at home and secret romances of sorts and the return of a Vietnam vet who has a constant reminder of his time In Country, but he never tells the secret of how he received the injury to his ear. It's an excellent debut novel, but don't be discouraged if this is the first Tim O'Brien novel you read, he only get's better. I give it my highest recommendation.

Nighttime Is My Time I found the book very interesting and consider it one of Mary Higgins Clark's best novels. The authors unique formatting of the chapters was very unique and caught my eye. The characters were totally realistic and original and the puzzling hints to the identity of the killer were only a few of the reasons I enjoyed this novel. I would recommend this book to mainly teenage or adult women because I think they would find it more interesting.

Nightingale Wood The characterizations in this novel are especially strong. Viola isn't quite what you'd expect from a woman who married someone twenty years older than she but she's all the more interesting for that because there's so much more to her personality than meets the eye.

Night Veil Cicley's memories show her history in New Forest and shed light on her and Grieve's relationship. This book also open up to why Myst is so focused on destroying Cicely. I limited on the details I can give without spoilers, but I will

say this is a must read for the series. I know a lot of people where disappointed in the first book,Night Myst, don't give up yet. I really enjoyed this and will definitely read the next one.

Night Road I loved the easy friendship between Mia and Lexi the way they accepted each other after experiencing so many rejections in life. I loved how Zach and Lexi fell in love and how Mia ultimately accepted their love. I also loved how hard Zach worked at protecting Mia in all things. This book is about relationships with siblings, parents, and lovers. It reminds me that sometimes in life one bad decision can completely alter the path of your future. Drinking and Driving is always a bad choice, but forgiveness can be a healing comfort.

Night Stalker Night Stalker is about a woman stalked and harassed in her home by an unknown assailant. He invades every aspect of her life and it is quite unnerving to read as it unfolds. She gets the police involved but they are unable to help much at first. She soon finds a possible ally in a police detective but he seems to have trouble with her credibility. It left me guessing as to the stalker''s identity right to the end. Of course, all of the guesses I made were wrong and it was real fun to finally find out who the stalker was. Night Stalker is a fine mix of mystery, horror, and romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I do not usually read a novel in just three days but could hardly put it down despite my other obligations.

New Girl (Harlequin Teen) The story is told alternatingly between the New Girl's perspective in first person and Becca's perspective in third person. You might think that sounds clunky, but it really wasn't. This makes the fact that you never learn the New Girl's actual name but are so familiar with Becca's completely natural I didn't even notice until partway through. Of course, I wanted to punch Becca in the face the whole time, but I really liked New Girl.

New York to Dallas Ms. Robb brings her A-game to NEW YORK TO DALLAS. Love, intelligence, hard work and twisted-as-hell evil are a brilliant combination in the hands of someone like Ms. Robb. She has the ability to make even a predictable surprise plot twist feel like a sucker punch to the gut. That ability to bring forth such strong emotions is why I've been a fan of J.D. Robb/Nora Roberts for more than half my lifetime and why I continue to look forward to each new book of hers. NEW YORK TO DALLAS is captivating from beginning to end, and I finished it eager to see where Ms. Robb takes Eve and Roarke next!

Nerve Damage

This psychological thriller is a great read with all the intrigue, mystery, and espionage one might imagine. The book was complete in the hero's search for the truth about the death of his wife. It all becomes darker as people close to the main character start to die. One soon realizes that there is conspiracy of the highest level. As with planning a vacation, getting there is half the fun - more in this case. When the resolution of the mystery occurred, it was fast and undetailed. It seemed that the author was not as interested in the cover up as the process of discovery.

My Soul to Take Rachel Vincent has a wonderful way of allowing Kaylee to tell her tale with all of the excitement (& fear) a normal teenager would have under these not-so-normal circumstances- yet, thankfully, without all of the mellow-drama often accompanying such characters as of late. Highly recommend!

My Immortal Erin McCarthy has strayed from her usual lighter, humorously hot stories to bring us a darkly sensual tale filled with lust, redemption and the overwhelming power of love. The setting is the earthly and humid location of New Orleans, Louisiana, which invokes a multitude of images saturated with the spicy and flavorful naughtiness and decadence of the bayou. It comes across as the perfect playground for a regretful demon to live out his eternal life while he pays homage to those he answers to, albeit reluctantly. It's also the right setting for Marley to transform from a shy, introverted wallflower into a confident, brave, alluring woman who demands more out of life than to just merely exist. While searching for her sister, Marley learns some things about herself and about what she cannot control, no matter how much she tries, and while it's a bittersweet lesson, it's one she needed to learn in order to go on with her life.

Messenger of the Dark Prophet I was glad that the second book in the Bowl of Souls series definitely did not disappoint! With more focus on time in the magic school, there could have been unfortunate parallels to a certain boy wizard series, but the story deftly avoids the problem and keeps its unique setting its own. The book has memorable action scenes and characters, and I'm very much looking forward to the next in the series, and seeing Justan unravel more of the mystery of the moonrats.

Multiplex Fandango Multiplex Fandango is subtitled "A Weston Ochse Reader" for good reason. This collection contains a comprehensive representation of short fiction and novellas by the Bram Stoker award winner and Pushcart Prize nominee, including his recent powerful Stoker finalist short story, "The Crossing Of Aldo Rey" and his brilliant Stoker finalist novella, Redemption Roadshow, as well as acclaimed favorites, "Catfish Gods" and "Big Rock Candy Mountain."

Let the Devil Sleep Gurney's investigations and thinking are included in the story but not enough for the reader to solve the mystery. The answer dangles in front of you but it's not until the suspenseful end that all is revealed. I also want to point out that Let

The Devil Sleep is the third book in a series, but totally stand alone reading. The previous two cases, which I assume are the previous two books are mentioned, but not enough to spoil you from going back and reading them.

Last Chance Book Club I actually thought this story was adorable. For those who have read Pride & Prejudice might enjoy some of the parallels that are drawn in Last Chance Book Club. I found myself laughing, because of Savannah and Dash buttingheads at every possible way.

Isle of Man: Book Two of The Park Service Trilogy Well, Ryan Winfield has come through again! I just finished "Isle of Man" and could not put it down all day. This sequel is extremely well written. I felt that I was at a movie watching the whole thing unfold before my eyes. I really enjoyed Book # 1 "The Park Service" but I doubly enjoyed this book. Thank you Ryan...but October is a long way off to wait for Volume 3.

Hollow Earth Lots of twins have a special connection, but twelve-year-old Matt and Emily Calder can do way more than finish each other’s sentences. Together, they are able to bring art to life and enter paintings at will. Their extraordinary abilities are highly sought after, particularly by a secret group who want to access the terrors called Hollow Earth. All the demons, devils, and evil creatures ever imagined are trapped for eternity in the world of Hollow Earth trapped unless special powers release them.

Flutter: The Story of Four Sisters and an Incredible Journey Ms. Moulton's writing is descriptive and clear. Her story is compelling and suspenseful. Her tale is one about love, perseverance, and beating the odds. She has created important medicine for this time and this culture in which we live. Bravo, Erin!

First Position Emory faces life’s challenges at the one place that’s never failed her, the ballet barre. Everything Changes I thought this book was well-written and the supporting characters were made to be just as important as the main characters. I also now know everything there is to know about AMA Supercross thanks to this book. The beginning chapter blurbs were tied in to the theme nicely.

Double Feature This novel is not horror, it is instead a highly effective coming-of-age novel with well written characters and a story line that spans several decades. I was completely drawn in to the emotional turmoil of Sam's efforts to first make his dream come true and then come to terms with the fact that his dream became a nightmare. This was one I could not put down, and I was really sorry to leave Sam and the entire cast of characters behind when the story drew to an end.

Domination (A C.H.A.O.S. Novel) This was a great Science Fiction read and I liked Colt. He was definitely a character that I liked to read about. I am giving this book a 5/5! I was given a copy to review from booksneeze, however all opinions are my own

Covenant It was ok, kept my attention but I've read better for free. The ebook price is a joke. Makes me more determined to read more indie authors who have a more realistic price tag on their work...

Dead Love Dead Love captures your attention in the first couple of pages and never stops! Intriguing page turner you won't want to put down. Ms. Wells capitvates her audience with a realistic portrayal of what can go wrong when unknown terrorists threaten the security and livelihood of our nation. Dead love is steamy, sexy, and a mystery that leaves you wanting more!! Can't wait for the sequel....!!

Crysis: Escalation You can tell that this book is supposed to be a supplement to the Crysis background story, but you won't find anything revelatory here except the fate of Alcatraz, perhaps. I can't really recommend this, not even to Crysis fans.

Boy21 Although Boy 21 is a Young Adult book, as far as this Older Adult is concerned, it needn't be pigeonholed that way. I have a feeling this writer is going to be huge. And if there's any justice in the world, he will be.

Bone Quill In this thrilling sequel to Hollow Earth, Matt and Emily must stop someone from unleashing an army of mankind’s worst nightmares. In the Middle Ages, an old monk used his powers and a bone quill to ink a magical manuscript, The Book of Beasts. Over the centuries the Book, and the quill, were lost.

Being Henry David Honestly, apart from this and a few cliches early on (of the "heart-pounding" and "clenched jaws" variety) the style is very assured, compelling and readable. I am happy to add this to the YA shelf in my library, where it will find the company quite companionable, I should think.

Beautiful Stranger Loved loved this book! They keep getting better!! I can't get enough of these characters and can't wait for the next ones in the series!!

Balancing Act I think the book was a well written storyline. However at times I found some of the descriptions to be drawn out and added little to it, such as buying furniture to decorate the cottage. I found them to be a bit tedious and did some skim reading.

An Inheritance of Shame Kate Hewitt has worked a variety of different jobs, from drama teacher to editorial assistant to church youth worker, but writing romance is the best one yet. She also writes short stories and serials for women's magazines, and all her stories celebrate the healing and redemptive power of love. Kate lives in a tiny village with her husband, four children, and an overly affectionate Golden Retriever.

A Whisper of Disgrace Rosa Corretti cannot forget the one unguarded night she spent with Kulal, when she buried her disgrace beneath the seductive sighs of passion. Now this hard, demanding sheikh wants to control her!

A Shadow of Guilt Valentina Ferranti has always blamed Gio Corretti and his reckless behavior for her brother's death. The last time she saw Gio she slammed the door on him and her youthful infatuation. Now, broke and with her name slandered by the infamous Carmela Corretti, Val needs help. There's only one person she can turn to...the cold, inscrutable man from her past whose green eyes flash with guilt, regret and a passion that calls to her.

A Facade to Shatter She dropped her gaze. A single tear spilled free and she dashed it away, determined not to cry in front of him. Not to be weak.

A Boss to Love and Hate Julie has to ignore her physical attraction to her new boss but this is made easier by his bad tempered and unreasonable work demands. He`s good looking but angry, smart but over bearing and most all of she finds him infuriating.

Once Were Cops I enjoyed this story although some may find it grim, bleak and depressing. So very typically Irish actually. No one does grim, bleak and depressing quite like the Irish, unless it's the Russians, but Russian misery is generally about group oppression while Irish misery is generally about harrowing personal bleakness. There's plenty you'll find depressing about this tale, but if you love lyrical violence, and scary dudes taken out by even scarier dudes, then this a good, solid read.

Once Upon a River There were times when I struggled with this book. It is a heavy story and doesn't start to show some rays of sunshine until the very end. However, the deeper themes explored in this book are worth sticking with it. It is truly a unique story

of growing up, and it raises the very legitimate question of whether we all need to have the suburban house and picket fence to be happy. The book also explores how judgmental we can be about the way that others choose to live, simply because they are different from us. The characters in this book find contentment all around them just by paying attention to life. And these are just some of the issues explored in reality there is a kaleidoscope of concepts from which to choose for further examination after closing the book. This is a strong recommend, but with the caveat that this is not a "beach read". This is an intense book that will keep you thinking. I know that Margo will be on my mind for quite awhile.

The 17 Day Diet: A Doctor's Plan Designed for Rapid Results Published: 2011-03-15 | ISBN: 1451648650 | PDF | 256 pages | 3 MB If you need to shed pounds fast and in a safe, effective, and lasting way, this is the book for you! Unlike many diet programs that starve you down to size, Dr. Mike Moreno’s 17 Day Diet relies on proven methods to help you take weight off and keep it off for good—whether you’ve got 10 pounds to lose or 100. His revolutionary program adjusts your body metabolically so that you burn fat day in and day out. The program is structured around four 17 day cycles: Accelerate—the rapid weight loss portion that helps flush sugar and fat storage from your system Activate—the metabolic restart portion with alternating low and high calorie days to help shed body fat Achieve—this phase is about learning to control portions and introducing new fitness routines Arrive—a combination of the first three cycles to keep good habits up for good. On weekends, enjoy your favorite foods! Each cycle changes your calorie count and the food that you’re eating. The variation that Dr. Mike calls ‘body confusion’ keeps your metabolism guessing; this means that you can expect big changes in the first 17 days alone! This is not a diet that relies on a tiny list of approved foods, grueling exercise routines, or unrealistic calorie counts that leave you hungry and unfulfilled. Moderation and proper portions are key factors in the 17 Day Diet—the trick is to figure out the foods and routines that work best with your real lifestyle. That’s why the book is filled with tips for how to avoid the usual food pitfalls like holidays, eating out, or even just a tempting candy jar. Along with a comprehensive explanation of how each segment works, every phase comes with an extensive list of foods, recipes, and sample meal plans to help make grocery shopping a breeze. Because of the diversity that you are allowed from the very beginning of the program, there is a way to make this diet work with almost any food allergies you might have or what cuisine you’re used to eating. The 17 Day Diet is a simple plan that gets big, long-lasting results if you stick with it and let Dr. Mike help you along the way. Whether this is your first attempt at dieting or your fiftieth, you must believe that you can do this. What matters now is focusing on your goals, identifying what you need to get there, and taking action to begin the process. Your health and happiness are important, so stand strong, believe in yourself, and let your 17 Day Diet begin now!

Go the F**k to Sleep 2011 | ISBN-10: 1617750255 | 32 pages | PDF | 3,4 MB "Nothing has driven home a certain truth about my generation, which is approaching the apex of its childbearing years, quite like this."--The New Yorker

"A parenting zeitgeist"--Washington Post "A hilarious take on that age-old problem: getting the beloved child to go to sleep."--National Public Radio "A new Bible for weary parents"--New York Times "Resonates powerfully with almost everyone"--Boston Globe "Go the F*** to Sleep challenges stereotypes, opens up prototypes, and acknowledges that shared sense of failure that comes to all parents who weary of ever getting their darling(s) to sleep and briefly resuming the illusion of a life of their own." --Midwest Book Review Go the F*** to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don't always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland. Profane, affectionate, and radically honest, California Book Award-winning author Adam Mansbach's verses perfectly capture the familiar--and unspoken-tribulations of putting your little angel down for the night. In the process, they open up a conversation about parenting, granting us permission to admit our frustrations, and laugh at their absurdity. With illustrations by Ricardo Cortes, Go the F*** to Sleep is beautiful, subversive, and pants-wettingly funny--a book for parents new, old, and expectant. You probably should not read it to your children.

Sneaky Tricks: for snagging dates and meeting people 2012 | ISBN-10: 1456529579 | EPUB | 78 pages | 0,1 MB Street Smart Dating started out as a website—a spoof on the usual oh-so-correct 'dating/meeting people' advice thing. The URL was askunclejohn.com, and though I did include some common sense advice to bulk it out a bit, the only intent was humor. Oddly enough, I began getting emails, quite a few of them, asking for advice on dating and meeting people. It occurred to me that a not-so-gentle, slap in the face, wake up and smell the roses—and so on—type of book, with an emphasis on humor, may just do well.

Two Souls Indivisible: The Friendship That Saved Two POWs in Vietnam ISBN: 0618273484 | 2004 | EPUB | 288 pages | 2 MB

An unforgettable true story, Two Souls Indivisible stirringly recounts the forging of a legendary, heroic bond between two soldiers. Fred Cherry and Porter Halyburton first met in their shared cell in a brutal POW camp in Vietnam. Cherry, an air force pilot, was badly injured after his plane crashed; he became the first black officer to be captured by the North Vietnamese. Halyburton, a young navy flier, was a naive white southerner thrown in as Cherry’s cellmate. Their captors hoped close quarters would inflame American-bred racial tensions and break both men. Instead, American integrity and honor flourished, and as Cherry was nursed back to health, a friendship grew strong. The intense connection, powerfully reported by James S. Hirsch, would sustain both men through the war and throughout their lives. Inspiring, heartbreaking, remarkable, and never more timely, Two Souls Indivisible shows how good people can achieve greatness in the most hellish of circumstances.

Combat Officer: A Memoir of War in the South Pacific ISBN: 0345463854 | 2004 | EPUB | 256 pages | 2 MB For the U.S., Guadalcanal was a bloody seven-month struggle under brutal conditions against crack Japanese troops deeply entrenched and determined to fight to the death. For Charles Walker, this horrific jungle battle–one that claimed the lives of 1,600 Americans and more than 23,000 Japanese–was just the beginning. On the eve of battle, 2nd Lt. Walker was ordered back to the States for medical reasons. But there was a war to be won, and he had no intention of missing it. In this devastatingly powerful memoir, Walker captures the conflict in all its horror, chaos, and heroism: the hunger, the heat, the deafening explosions and stench of death, the constant fear broken by moments of sheer terror. This is the gripping tale of the brave young American men who fought with tremendous courage in appalling conditions, willing to sacrifice everything for their country.

The Dirtiest Race in History: Ben Johnson, Carl Lewis and the Olympic 100m Final ISBN: 1408135957 | 2012 | EPUB/MOBI | 320 pages | 3 MB/1 MB The 1988 Seoul Olympics hosted what has been described as both "the dirtiest race of all time" and "the greatest track event in history." The unforgettable men’s 100 meter race has become infamous for the elation of breaking a seemingly impossible world record for human speed and for the doping scandal that followed. This book is a groundbreaking investigative account into the story of Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis, and how one of the oldest of Olympic sports became a complex high-stakes game of cheating, cover-up, and fallen heroes. The book follows the remarkable buildup to the showdown of the two rival track superstars and chronicles Johnson’s gold medal win, a title he retained only briefly before he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs and Lewis was awarded the gold. In 1999, however, after being named Sportsman of the Century by the IOC, Lewis his credibility damaged by revelations that he, too, used performance-enhancing drugs and tested positive prior to the Seoul Olympics. Containing stunning new revelations, this book features candid witness interviews, including with Johnson and Lewis, to reconstruct the race, the hype, the drugs, and the deception, and it examines how the fallout continues to impact sports today, as every new record is met with widespread skepticism.

He'd arrived at the South Pole after the longest and arguably most dangerous run ever made, a physical and mental triumph that put him in the company of the world's greatest adventurers—Sir Edmund Hillary, Robert Falcon Scott, and Thor Heyerdahl. Pat Farmer's Pole to Pole Run, dedicated to raising funds for the Red Cross, began at the North Pole in April 2011 and took him through Canada, the United States, Central America, and South America to his ultimate destination in the Antarctic, the South Pole. In total, Farmer had covered more than 13,000 miles. He ran an incredible average of 52.8 miles every day, and some days up to 62 miles or more. The epic trek saw Pat brave blizzards; nearly lose his life when he became lost in the blazing deserts of Peru; and evade polar bears, snakes, crocodiles, armed bandits, and rogue militias. He defied unimaginable pain, suffered dehydration and stress injuries, and destroyed his feet. Unbelievably, he set a new running record for the South Pole, while being blasted by ferocious winds and glacial temperatures. His diary chronicles the highs and lows of an extreme athlete, reveals how he kept going through some of the most inhospitable places on earth, and is sure to inspire, amaze, and motivate.

I Can Barely Take Care of Myself: Tales From a Happy Life Without Kids 2013 | 224 Pages | ISBN: 1451667000 | EPUB | 1 MB "You'll Change Your Mind." That’s what everyone says to Jen Kirkman— and countless women like her—when she confesses she doesn’t plan to have children. But you know what? It’s hard enough to be an adult. You have to dress yourself and pay bills and remember to buy birthday gifts. You have to drive and get annual physicals and tip for good service. Some adults take on the added burden of caring for a tiny human being with no language skills or bladder control. Parenthood can be

very rewarding, but let’s face it, so are margaritas at the adults-only pool. Jen’s stand-up routine includes lots of jokes about not having kids (and some about masturbation and Johnny Depp), after which complete strangers constantly approach her and ask, “But who will take care of you when you’re old?” (Servants!) Some insist, “You’d be such a great mom!” (Really? You know me so well!) Whether living rent-free in her childhood bedroom while trying to break into comedy (the best free birth control around, she says), or taking the stage at major clubs and joining a hit TV show— and along the way getting married, divorced, and attending excruciating afternoon birthday parties for her parent friends—Jen is completely happy and fulfilled by her decision not to procreate. I Can Barely Take Care of Myself is a beacon of hilarious hope for anyone whose major life decisions have been questioned by friends, family, and strangers in a comedy club bathroom. And it should satisfy everyone who wonders if Jen will ever know true love without looking into the eyes of her child.

Thwarting Enemies at Home and Abroad: How to Be a Counterintelligence Officer English | 2009 | ISBN: 1589012550, 093212304X | 222 pages | PDF | 5,2 MB Originally published in 1987, "Thwarting Enemies at Home and Abroad" is a unique primer that teaches the principles, strategy, and tradecraft of counterintelligence (CI). CI is often misunderstood and narrowly equated with security and catching spies, which are only part of the picture. As William R. Johnson explains, CI is the art of actively protecting secrets but also aggressively thwarting, penetrating, and deceiving hostile intelligence organizations to neutralize or even manipulate their operations.Johnson, a career CIA intelligence officer, lucidly presents the nuts and bolts of the business of counterintelligence and the characteristics that make a good CI officer. Although written during the late Cold War, this book continues to be useful for intelligence professionals, scholars, and students because the basic principles of CI are largely timeless. General readers will enjoy the lively narrative and detailed descriptions of tradecraft that reveal the real world of intelligence and espionage. A new foreword by former CIA officer and noted author William Hood provides a contemporary perspective on this valuable book and its author.

Liberty Defined: 50 Essential Issues That Affect Our Freedom Published: 2011-04-19 | ISBN: 145550145X | PDF | 352 pages | 3 MB In Liberty Defined, congressman and #1 New York Times bestselling author Ron Paul returns with his most provocative, comprehensive, and compelling arguments for personal freedom to date. The term "Liberty" is so commonly used in our country that it has become a mere clichĂŠ. But do we know what it means? What it promises? How it factors into our daily lives? And most importantly, can we recognize tyranny when it is sold to us disguised as a form of liberty? Dr. Paul writes that to believe in liberty is not to believe in any particular social and economic outcome. It is to trust in the spontaneous order that emerges when the state does not intervene in human volition and human cooperation. It permits people to work out their problems for themselves, build lives for themselves, take risks and accept responsibility for the results, and make their own decisions. It is the seed of America. This is a comprehensive guide to Dr. Paul's position on fifty of the most important issues of our times, from Abortion to Zionism. Accessible, easy to digest, and fearless in its discussion of controversial topics, Liberty Defined sheds new light on a word that is losing its shape.

The New Rules of Lifting For Life: An All-New Muscle-Building, Fat-Blasting Plan for Men and Women Who Want to Ace Their Midlife Exams Published: 2012-04-26 | ISBN: 1583334610 | ASIN: B0074VTHIY | PDF | 320 pages | 15 MB A customizable-and realistic-fitness program specifically created for midlifers who want to lose weight, revitalize energy, and build habits for increased longevity. Today's exercising adults are caught in a bind: Those who take it seriously and work out aggressively end up with chronic aches and pains in midlife because they don't know how to adjust their programs as they get older. And those who take it easy end up with overfed, underdeveloped bodies that don't respond well when they decide to get serious about exercise.

Lou Schuler and Alwyn Cosgrove, fitness experts and authors of The New Rules of Lifting series know all too well that these readers need a program of their own. That's because they are these readers. Schuler started working out in his early teens. After forty years, he realized he couldn't do the programs in his own books without lots of modifications. And Cosgrove, a former European champion in tae kwon do, is a two- time survivor of stage IV cancer who found himself with limited endurance and a body that stubbornly refused to add muscle or shed fat. So the authors set out to create a new template for exercise, one that delivers serious results but is also flexible enough to accommodate individual limitations. The New Rules of Lifting for Life offers a six-month plan that balances total-body strength, endurance, mobility, balance, coordination, and athleticism. The workouts are challenging and, in conjunction with the suggested diet modifications, will help readers change the way their bodies look, feel, and perform. And not just temporarily- The New Rules of Lifting for Life allows you to enjoy productive and pain-free workouts for many years to come.

Terror in the Name of God: Why Religious Militants Kill ISBN: 006050532X | 2003 | EPUB | 400 pages | 501 KB For four years, Jessica Stern interviewed extremist members of three religions around the world: Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Traveling extensively—to refugee camps in Lebanon, to religious schools in Pakistan, to prisons in Amman, Asqelon, and Pensacola—she discovered that the Islamic jihadi in the mountains of Pakistan and the Christian fundamentalist bomber in Oklahoma have much in common. Based on her vast research, Stern lucidly explains how terrorist organizations are formed by opportunistic leaders who—using religion as both motivation and justification—recruit the disenfranchised. She depicts how moral fervor is transformed into sophisticated organizations that strive for money, power, and attention. Jessica Stern's extensive interaction with the faces behind the terror provide unprecedented insight into acts of inexplicable horror, and enable her to suggest how terrorism can most effectively be countered. A crucial book on terrorism, Terror in the Name of God is a brilliant and thought-provoking work.

The Googlization of Everything: (And Why We Should Worry) 2011 | ISBN: 0520258827 | 280 pages | PDF | 5,7 MB What is the nature of the transaction between Google's computer algorithms and its millions of human users? Are we heading down a path toward a more enlightened age, or are we approaching a dystopia of social control and surveillance? With these and other questions, University of Virginia media studies and law professor Vaidhyanathan thoughtfully examines the insidious influence of Google on our society. In just over a decade, Google has moved so rapidly in its mission to "organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful" that cries of "Google it!" resound through high school classrooms, business offices, academic halls, and public libraries. As Vaidhyanathan points out, we must be cautious about embracing Google's mission and not accept uncritically that Google has our best interests in mind. He reminds us that Google is a publicly traded, revenue-driven firm that is dangerous in many subtle ways. By valuing popularity over accuracy and established sites over new ones, Google sets its own agenda regarding what information is most relevant to users, altering their perceptions about value and significance. Vaidhyanathan admirably concludes with a design for an information ecosystem called the Human Knowledge Project, which would be a more democratic means of parsing and organizing knowledge.

Shadowbosses: Government Unions Control America and Rob Taxpayers Blind 2012 | ISBN: 1455522740 | English | 336 Pages | EPUB | 0.65 MB SHADOWBOSSES reads like an organized crime novel, but it's actually a true story of how labor unions are infiltrating our government and corrupting our political process. This compelling and insightful book exposes how unions have organized federal, state, and local government employees without their consent, and how government employee unions are now a threat to our workers' freedoms, our free and fair elections, and even our American way of life. And, Mallory Factor reveals what's coming next: how unions are targeting millions of Americans--maybe even you--for

forced unionization so that unions can collect billions more in forced dues and exert an even greater influence over American politics. A chilling expose, SHADOWBOSSES is also a call to citizen action against those who really hold power in America today.

Uncouth Nation: Why Europe Dislikes America English | 2007 | ISBN: 0691122873 | PDF | 296 pages | 0,9 MB No survey can capture the breadth and depth of the anti-Americanism that has swept Europe in recent years. From ultraconservative Bavarian grandmothers to thirty-year-old socialist activists in Greece, from globalization opponents to corporate executives--Europeans are joining in an ever louder chorus of disdain for America. For the first time, anti-Americanism has become a European lingua franca. In this sweeping and provocative look at the history of European aversion to America, Andrei Markovits argues that understanding the ubiquity of antiAmericanism since September 11, 2001, requires an appreciation of such sentiments among European elites going back at least to July 4, 1776. While George W. Bush's policies have catapulted anti-Americanism into overdrive, particularly in Western Europe, Markovits argues that this loathing has long been driven not by what America does, but by what it is. Focusing on seven Western European countries big and small, he shows how antipathies toward things American embrace aspects of everyday life--such as sports, language, work, education, media, health, and law--that remain far from the purview of the Bush administration's policies. Aggravating Europeans' antipathies toward America is their alleged helplessness in the face of an Americanization that they view as inexorably befalling them. More troubling, Markovits argues, is that this anti-Americanism has cultivated a new strain of anti-Semitism. Above all, he shows that while Europeans are far apart in terms of their everyday lives and shared experiences, their not being American provides them with a powerful common identity--one that elites have already begun to harness in their quest to construct a unified Europe to rival America.

Therese of Lisieux: God's Gentle Warrior English | 2006-10-12 | ISBN: 0195307216 | 416 pages | PDF | 5 MB Therese of Lisieux (1873-1897), also known as St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, is popularly named the Little Flower. A Carmelite nun, doctor of the church, and patron of a score of causes, she was famously acclaimed by Pope Pius X as the greatest saint of modern times. Therese is not only one of the most beloved saints of the Catholic Church but perhaps the most revered woman of the modern age. Pope John Paul II described her as a living icon of God. Her autobiography Story of a Soul has been translated into sixty languages. Having long transcended national and linguistic boundaries, she has crossed even

religious ones. As daughter of Allah, she is venerated widely in Islamic cultures. Therese has been the subject of innumerable biographies and treatises, ranging from hagiographies to attacks on her intelligence and mental health. Thomas R. Nevin has gained access to many untapped archival materials and previously unpublished photographs. As a consequence he is able to offer a much fuller and more accurate portrait of the saints life and thought than his predecessors. He explores the dynamics of her family life and the early development of her spirituality. He draws extensively on the correspondence of her mother and documents her influence on Thereses autobiography and spirituality. He charts the development of Thereses career as a writer. He gives close attention to her poetry and plays usually dismissed as undistinguished and argues that they have great value as texts by which she addressed and informed her Carmelite community. He delves into the French medical literature of the time, in an effort to understand how the tuberculosis of which she died at the age of 24 was treated and lamentably mistreated. Finally, he offers a new understanding of Therese as a theologian for whom love, rather than doctrines and creeds, was the paramount value. Adding substantially to our knowledge and appreciation of this immensely popular and attractive figure, this book should appeal to many general readers as well as to scholars and students of modern Catholic history.
