Private: #1 Suspect Another great one from Patterson. Short chapters and a very quick read. Definitely keeps your attention. It's a typical murder mystery. Someone's being framed with a predictable ending.

Heart Like Mine Despite the fact that I had difficulties with some of the characters, I still think this is a fabulous book. I think we are meant to have difficulties with this story you simply cannot root for both Grace and Kelli, since their desires are directly at odds. Some readers may adore Kelli and hate Grace, and I think that is perfectly ok. The point is that the story elicits a strong emotional reaction. I simply could not put the book down, and read it in a 5 hour marathon sitting. It was that good. The story is engaging, and a bit heartbreaking. Fans of contemporary fiction, particularly women's fiction, will enjoy this book.

The Lost (Celestial Blues, Book 2) I really enjoy the Celestial Blues series and have been pleased with both books overall, but I have to say the ending of this book has me a little worried for the next (and final?) entry. Ms. Pettersson has ended this book with one heck of a game changer and I think the next book will see a completely different chemistry between Kit and Grif than what readers have come to expect. It's a risky move, but one I am very excited to see play out.

Fox Forever: The Jenna Fox Chronicles I highly recommend this series/book to everyone, and while it labeled as a young-adult/sci-fi, it isn't only that but something more. I think people of all ages will love and appreciate this series/book as much as me.

Best Kept Secret (The Clifton Chronicles) The third starts at exactly the point where the second finishes, so you need to have read the first two before starting this one. A recapitulation summary would have been useful at the beginning. What made me think it was a trilogy? Perhaps I'd confused it with Ken Follett's 'Century Trilogy'? 'Best Kept Secret' (like the previous two) ends with yet another unresolved cliffhanger.

So when is the next one being released? How many exactly are going to be in the series? I'm really enjoying the series so far...

Feudlings Very good book! Great story line with plenty of action, romance, and creativity. Two thumbs way up! You won't be disappointed!

Shadow on the Crown This book was very well-written, the plot moved quickly and easily and the author did a great job of keeping all the characters straight. I would have liked to see a little more development in the early stages of the above-mentioned "forbidden love." But once it was established is was a lovely and heartbreaking relationship.

What Darkness Brings: A Sebastian St. Cyr Mystery I have been impatiently waiting for this book since I finished the last one! I enjoyed it, and am glad the wait is over. I like that there are so many characters that keep making appearances. Kat is still a part of Sebastian's life, but I am glad that her relationship with Sebastian has changed. Hero is a great character. I'm glad she is loyal to her father. Sebastian is human, and I think that is why I like him so much. I am anticipating the next book already. This is a fantastic series!

Bloodfire Quest: The Dark Legacy of Shannara Exciting and suspenseful. The book does a great job of fulfilling loose ends from the first book and creating a whole new heap of them for book three!

The Pirate Captain: Chronicles of a Legend What a tale. This books has it all. A laugh out loud adventure on the high seas and characters you love and love to hate. A throughly engaging read with facinating historical detail. I particularily loved the details of the pirates and the ship they inhabit. I wouldn't change a thing except for sooner availability of the second book.

This Must Be the Place I had a smile on my face most of the time that I was reading. If you're wanting non-stop action, go read some David Weber (although, not the Safehold series). These stories are largely character driven and the characters are worth reading about.

The Sound of Broken Glass Overall, this is a great addition to the Kincaid/James series. I thought the storyline was great. There was just enough drama and suspense to leave me guessing, and yes, there is a little teaser at the end that has left me anticipating the next book in the series.

The Reunited

I really loved this book. I have read the others in this series and could not wait for this one to come out. For me, it started out a little slow. But it did not take long to pick up. And of course by that time I could not put it down.

Trained to Obey 1 (Extreme BDSM) In the near future a paranoid new regime persecutes those it considers enemies. Kirsten has been in hiding for years to evade arrest, her only escape from isolation being the affairs she has with covertly hired female prostitutes. However, when one of her lovers turns out to be an undercover officer for the government, she is captured and taken to an underground facility where her enslaver awaits. The beautiful officer ruthlessly trains Kirsten via sexual torment, humiliation, stringent rubber bondage and hi-tech discipline to be her completely obedient pet.

Trained to Obey 2 After rescuing the hapless girl, the training of both women continues while the rebel band seeks to discover the fate of their comrade. Once successful they try to mount a rescue before the officer breaks her will and renders her an obedient servant who is lost to them forever.

The Perfect Retreat The book has a great mix of characters from all different walks of life and the story includes each of the characters own personal story lines so there is not one main character similar to in her previous book.

The Oracle Code When word of the tomb’s secret location and the treasured wisdom of the Oracle of Delphi it may hold materialize in the code of an ancient scroll in Afghanistan, Harvard linguist and archeologist professor Thomas Lourds must quickly find out. That is if the evil forces that wish to obtain the treasure that the tomb holds doesn’t stop him first. Russian President Nevsky and his secret police will stop at nothing to harness the power of what the tomb may hold power to control the world as Alexander the Great did. When the Taliban catches wind of the discovery they’re also dangerously hot on the trail.

The Mermaid's Mirror When Lena decides to do a little digging of her own, she finds artifacts of her mother, who died when she was young...or so she was told. The artifacts tell another story, and Lena is determined to piece together the clues to solve the mystery of who she is and where she comes from.

To tell you more would be to give away the absolute gem of this book, and I think each reader needs to be surprised and delighted, as I was when I dove into Madigan's storytelling.

The Lost Army The 4th century BC. A village in Syria. A woman, dressed in rags and covered in blisters and sores, is seen approaching on the road coming from the north. Suspicious of her, the villagers shout and throw rocks at her. She is struck and falls. She seems dead...Her story encompasses one of the great collective acts of heroism of the ancient world. She was the mistress of Xenophon, a general in the vast army of ten thousand Greek mercenaries from virtually every Greek city state that was employed by Cyrus the Younger, in his quest to seize the throne of Persia from his brother, Artaxerxes II.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making I promise you that your mood and reasoning will make or break the experience. The characters are fun, but very close to an Alice in Wonderland presentation of Fairyland as seen through The Phantom Tollbooth. The heroes are loveable, the villains wicked, and the adventures easily broken into chapters for bedtime reading.

The Girl with the Iron Touch (Steampunk Chronicles) With Griffin being mysteriously tormented by the Aether, the young duke's sanity is close to the breaking point. Seeking help, Finley turns to Jack Dandy, but trusting the master criminal is as dangerous as controlling her dark side. Meanwhile, Sam is searching everywhere for Emily, from Whitechapel's desolate alleyways to Mayfair's elegant mansions. He would walk into hell for her, but the choice she must make will test them more than they could imagine.

The Getaway (Sam Archer 2) The Getaway is a brilliant fast paced crime story that twists and turns with every turn of the page, Tom Barber has created a British hero to rival Jason Bourne or even the quintessential British hero James Bond. Tom barber has an exceptional knack of being able to submerge the reader into the story that lets you imagine you are watching the story on the big screen.

The Eye Collector Ready or not, here he comes...He plays the oldest children's game in the world, hide and seek. Only the Eye Collector plays it to death. It's the same each time. A woman's body is found with a ticking stopwatch clutched in her dead hand...

Snow White Must Die Nele Neuhaus, the international bestselling author, is successful at creating the sinister situation and casting doubt on nearly every character in the village. Adept at sharing the right details, the characters and setting come alive and become more than just stock characters. Even the detectives are alive with details from their personal lives. Well plotted with just enough foreshadowing and clues to keep you guessing until the very end, Snow White Must Die is impossible to put down.

The Enemy Within (Inspector Carlyle) Yorkshire, June 1984: War is raging between the police and striking mine workers. New recruit John Carlyle is sent up from London to man the picket lines. But when seventy-eight year old rose grower and political activist Beatrice Slater is found dead, the young constable's tour of duty takes a dramatic turn. With the internal security service watching his every move, local police chief Rob Holt is under pressure to make a quick arrest. Carlyle finds himself drawn into a murder investigation that gets more complicated by the day. Was Slater's death a robbery gone wrong? Or was she silenced because of her support for the strike?

The Deposit Slip The new book by first-time author Todd Johnson is an awesome legal thriller. An added plus is that it has a great plot and is a clean read. It is so difficult to find interesting novels that are well-written and a clean read. I sure hope Mr. Johnson plans on writing a new book about the new case 'Clay' calls about at the end of this book!

The Darwin Elevator Skyler Luiken has a rare immunity to the plague. Backed by an international crew of fellow “immunes,” he leads missions into the dangerous wasteland beyond the aura’s edge to find the resources Darwin needs to stave off collapse. But when the Elevator starts to malfunction, Skyler is tapped along with the brilliant scientist, Dr. Tania Sharma to solve the mystery of the failing alien technology and save the ragged remnants of humanity.

The Crystal Warrior The Crystal Warrior is an intelligent fast, action packed read with a feisty, sassy heroine Chalcedony and a really hunky hero, Wulfinite. This book has it all including laugh out loud humor, danger, twists and turns and both protagonists have gut wrenching choices to be made that leave you wondering right to the very end as to whether they

Chalcey and Wulf will make it. I absolutely love the concept of the Crystal Warriors and Wulf's and Chalcey's story is well plotted and a fantastic read that has you wanting more. Ms Anderson is an excellent writer. It's very clear why this book won the prestigious The Clendon Award and I can't wait to read more.

The Circus (Inspector Carlyle Novel) Interesting book/story although the fact that it was written by an an Englishman for other Englishmen, slowed down the reading a bit. Inspector Carlyle seems at times a bumbling fool, although he was the guy who finally put everything together. Several disparate stories going on at the same time, although distracting at first, came together at the end although that "coincidence" reminded me of Harry Bosch saying there are no coincidences in police work. Entertaining and interesting although hardly "literature".

The Cadet of Tildor Cadet is a thinking person's action book. With a strong, smart female lead who is determined to do right even when the world around her is immoral. I have a lot of respect for Renee and think she is one of those strong girl characters we need more of - spunky, good, smart, moral, tough. There's a lot to admire in her and in this book!

The Buzzard Table (A Deborah Knott Mystery) Margaret Maron provides readers with everything they look for in a book and more. There is the captivating mystery of course, but every story is woven around the personal aspect that makes Deborah and Dwight so enjoyable. This book in particular when have every fan of Ms Maron's grabbing a tissue by the end.

The Alarmists I can only think of one problem with this book. Once you start it, you're not going to want to put it down until you've finished it. I stayed up till early morning hours finishing the book myself.

Suspicions: A Twist of Fate, Tears of Pride I found the book interesting, full of surprises, and well written. I enjoy Lisa Jackson. I enjoy suspense with a twist.

Spartan Manfredi does an excellent job of bringing to life historical figures such as exiled King Demaratus, but I admit that it may help to have a general understanding of the Persian war. Interestingly, the prose flows particularly well for a translation. If you like reading about ancient heroics, I highly recommend this novel.

Soul Avenged (Sons of Wrath, #1) I enjoyed each and every one of them. I am looking forward to reading more about the Wrath brothers and their futures. I am also looking forward to more of Ayden and Kane, because something tells me, they are not going anywhere and we will continue seeing them in future books. I know I will be continuing with this series.

Snow Falls I wished this story would have been longer . It seemed at parts it was rushed and the ending also seemed rushed, not as good as most gerri hill books. It is still a good quick read

Sleeping Arrangements This book started off with no characters to particulary like, and a bit slow, but as the booked moved on, it got better, and the characters believable and real. There was one section which was particularly bad (sleeping out all together), which seemed a bit manufactured as though the writer was trying to think of a particlar scenario, perhaps to make it good for a movie, but couldn't come up with anything better...

Silent Night (Sam Archer 4) A man is found dead in Central Park on a cold December morning. There are no knife or gunshot wounds. No signs of violence. But beside the body is a box containing a cracked vial. Suspecting he died from some sort of biological attack, a lab team screen the body.

Shadow Woman

The story is interesting, the intrigue compelling, but the lack of character interplay and a weak romance bog it down somewhat. I would still recommend the book because it kept me engaged and the ending was a bit clever, if not terribly exciting.

Serpent of Moses I just finished reading Elisha's bones and absolutely loved it! I could not wait to start the sequel and The Serpent of Moses is another great adventure! These books are a must read for fans of biblical fiction and relic hunting adventures!

Search for the Buried Bomber (Dark Prospects) Wow! This was a great book, the first historical adventure novel that I have read in a long time and the first one by a Chinese author. I really enjoyed the exciting plot line, which kept me turning the pages (this is one of those books that is hard to put down once you start). I also enjoyed reading about important events in Chinese history from the perspective of a Chinese novelist, instead of having them come to me filtered through Western media or academic sources. It is really refreshing and interesting to get a Chinese perspective on people such as Chang Kai-Shek and events such as the colonization of Mongolia.

Reunited Their adventures on the road are hilarious and their antics a little crazy, but always entertaining and the ending is a little unexpected but perfect in every way. Reunited is full of great characters, great writing, great song lyrics you will love this book.

Rebellion (The Tainted Realm) Can Tali find Lyf before he tears Hightspall apart? And if she does, can she put aside her quest for vengeance to save her country? Or will Lyf cut the pearl from her and use its magic to plunge her world into perpetual darkness?

Relentless Sexual tension accelerates the race to unravel a complicated puzzle in the latest romantic thriller...

Recipe for Love I love Katie Fforde, and have not read any of her books that do not deserve 5 stars. They are easy to read, the readers becomes fully acquainted with the characters and you do not want the book to end. Wonderful relaxing read.

Quintessence All in all, this is an excellent book. It does things with magic, philosophy, and the Age of Exploration that I've never seen done before, and does them in a crisp and engaging style. Highly worth the time spent to read it.

Queen's Hunt With a late medieval feel to the plot, the second River of Souls fantasy (see Passion Play) is an engaging entry as the lead couple spends most of the storyline on separate exciting adventures with each trying to save the world from dark

and light magical and mundane hostilities. The secondary cast, especially the two female companions of Ilse and allies of Raul, are fully developed as they enhance an entertaining thriller.

PRIMAL Vengeance Love to see these Primal books made into movies. I know this is just the beginning of his writing career, but Jack Silkstone has already proven that he can write with the big boys.

PRIMAL Origin There are only three things preventing me from giving this a five by five. In a few places I felt dialouge/descriptions could have been toned back a bit, felt like overreaching when a little more subtlety might have worked better. The main characters could have used some more depth. Finally, as I said, I am a fan of this genre, but even I had to fire up Google to look up some of the acronyms tossed out.

Priceless I really enjoyed the heck out of this book. The world-building was excellent, the plot fun and exciting. Most of all, the relationship between the two protagonists was so entertaining and I love that the POV switches between them (as well as other characters which was a bit much). Elements of it were reminiscent of The Fever Series by Karen Moning and

October Daye by Seanan McGuire, but still had twists and personality of its own. Having read other books by the author, I can say she has definitely improved and refined her writing style. Character development and world-building were fantastic, I felt completely immersed in the story. Shannon Mayer is one of those authors that gets better with each book she writes. I'm so excited to see where this series goes.

Nine Lives (Sam Archer 1) This book is filled with action, and is paced nicely. There is no shortage of glimpses into what most of the characters are thinking. A bit of a thread was woven in and picked up from time to time. I didn't pay much attention to it. I should have.

Mourning Cloak Mourning Cloak is a very poetically written story. I fell in love with Rabia Gale's writing style right away. This story was not very long but, it packed a big punch. It was a very emotional moving piece of literature that left me wanting for nothing. Mourning Cloak was a very fulfilling story with characters that moved you from one realm to another without you even realizing you had left. This is one novella that I am sure not to forget anytime soon. This is a very well thought out piece that lifts your soul if only briefly it is still lifted.

Miss Buncle's Book This book is one of the authors best. I have read it several times just to enjoy the company of Miss Buncle and her escapades with the citizens of Silverstream.

Lost The end result to me was such a wishy-washy mess that when all of the story threads "came together" I didn't care. The last third of the novel I read to have a conclusion and get it over with, not because I genuinely cared. It's hard to care about a character you don't ever get to know.

Keeping the Castle Keeping the Castle kept me guessing. The entire story was in first person point of view from the perspective of Althea. She was witty and practical. She would have a shallow moment then hold herself accountable for it, vacillating between kindness and cunning. I was alongside her in her adventures, confusions, plotting, and growing friendships. There was so much more to the story than boy meets girl.

Island of Lost Girls Island of Lost Girls is a book full of suspense and heartbreak. It is also a peek into the wonderful imagination of children and their private little world. The ending is shocking, sad and happy, too. I would highly recommend this book.

Immune: A Sexy Urban Fantasy Mystery (Rylee Adamson # 2) This book has lots of action, violence, sexuality and a great cast of interesting characters that include harpies, trolls, demons, vampires, daywalkers, ogres, witches, werewolves and psychics so far. Each individual mystery is part of a greater series plotline that sucks you in and doesn't seem to let go. I am definitely looking forward to future installments and recommend it.

Hunter's Moon The dialogue rings incredibly true. A character returning home to face a family crisis and drama is an often used device, but Hoesel avoids the cliches that come with it, making the story brilliantly fresh. The scene of teenaged

Graham's threat toward ten-year-old CJ is haunting and CJ's gut-wrenching fear is palpable. This is a story that will stick with the reader long after the final page.

Tyrant The author is a history professor from Italy and he chooses not to insert a great deal of his own conjecture about motives into the protagonist. Instead the book challenges the reader to come up with their own motives for the actors in the story. So be prepared for a story that covers all the historical facts, but does not reveal all the details about the thoughts in the character's minds.

Heroes Formerly published as TALISMAN OF TROY, this novel has been retitled. A castaway tossed onto a deserted beach is the last survivor of a world that no longer exists. He has a terrible, fascinating story to tell - the true reason for which the Trojan War was fought...

Heat Seeker John Vincent has always led a life of danger, and now he has every reason to want to remain as dead as the obituary in the Australian papers had proclaimed him to be. He’d left nothing behind in the life he had once led except for one woman, and one night of unforgettable passion. Now, both will return to haunt him… Bailey Serborne is still tormented by a past she can’t change and a man she hasn’t been able to forget. A man who was supposed to dead.. But now, a stroke of fate has revealed that sometimes, a woman is given a second chance to heal her heart and exact the sweetest revenge…

Good Christian Bitches A really cool book for hip young women and fans of the traditional chick lit genre. Humerous to the hilt. I am dying for the author to write a sequel!!!!!!! Also, I will say the ABC show GCB is not following the book totally, so fans can enjoy each separately without worrying about the plot of one giving the other one away....a delicious treat of a book. So GOOD!!!! A must read!!!!!!!

Winterlude (Gunnhilder Mystery) A fast read, well written. Read it in one sitting and am looking forward to the 3rd.

With This Kiss: Part One Lady Grace Ryburn, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Ashbrook, has fallen wildly in love with Colin Barry, a dashing young lieutenant serving his country in the Royal Navy. When he returns home to exuberant celebrations, will he even notice the quiet wallflower he grew up with ‌ or will he fall for Grace's sparkling, gorgeous sister? Author's Note: Lady Grace is the eldest daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Ashbrook, from The Ugly Duchess, and Colin is the eldest adopted son of Sir Griffin Barry, from Seduced by a Pirate. In its entirety, With This Kiss is a 200page double-length novella.

With This Kiss: Part Two A cannon ball had exploded in front of Colin and he was blind. He had spent most of the trip back to England sleeping under the influence of laudanum and having erotic dreams involving Grace. Just before reaching England he was awake long enough to realize he did not want to spend the remainder of his life sleeping and refused to take any more laudanum. When he arrived in England his parents were not in London so he planned to spend the night at the Ryburn home. In an effort to provide the best medical care for Colin Grace's mother summoned a physician who immediately gave Colin a large dose of laudanum and put him back to sleep. Grace talked her mother into letting her take Colin to their country estate to recover.

Farside In my opinion, this book just barely succeeds as 'hard' science fiction but fails as a murder mystery (too few suspects with plausible motives). I didn't find the characters particularly compelling so there wasn't must dramatic tension for me at the climax.

Edge of Infinity This was a very entertaining collection, with the theme being hard SF set within our solar system. Some compelling takes on life in the outer planetary moons, and several of the stories were very touching. Ironically, I liked Bruce Sterling's story (the last in the collection) the least - which surprised me. Still recommended!

CyberStorm Cyber Storm is one of a rare breed of books I have read (So far the count, including CS, is around 4) that alter my reality around me to the point where I forget where I am and what I am doing as I am totally immersed in the text before me. So much to the point I felt cold... now, a little backstory on that fact, I live in Australia and it's currently a hot summer... Hell, I once or twice caught myself thinking about what I was going to do without my computer... which was an illusion only ruined by the notifications steam would pop up with on the monitor that I was reading from.

Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper I first heard of this book when Diablo made a promotional appearance on David Letterman's show (it can be found on the web if you look around), where even a couple of years removed from her life as a slut-for-hire, I thought "I'd definitely buy a lap dance from her!" It wasn't just her more than acceptable body, but her intelligence. If you're the type of person who refuses to turn off your brain even when one of your hands is otherwise occupied, this is definitely the book for you.

XPD XPD means expedient demise: if these letters appear on your file, you're as good as dead and anyone who learns about a secret meeting between Churchill and Hitler instantly earns that stamp. When Hitler's minutes of the meeting threaten to surface, the MI6, CIA, KGB, and a group of influential German businessmen-each with their own motives are drawn into a relentless search that leads them from Hamburg to Hollywood. Bleed a River Deep (Inspector Devlin Mystery)

The third Inspector Devlin police procedural (see Borderlands and Gallows Lane) is a fantastic thriller as the hero struggles to solve two murders while on suspension so has no official backing. The story line is action-packed from the moment Devlin sees his friend holding a gun for the first time since they played with toy pistols as five years old children. With a deep look at the illegal immigration problem in Europe not as publicized as the Arizona brouhaha, Brian McGilloway provides an entertaining investigative thriller.

Blackout (Sam Archer 3) On a warm April night in London, a man puts the finishing touches to his work for the day. He locks up his office and prepares to leave, but on his way out his receptionist hands him a letter. She says it was hand-delivered less than an hour ago. He is surprised. What could be so important that it couldn’t wait till morning? Shrugging, he takes it with him and departs.

Between Kerry Schafer's BETWEEN offers a new and exciting take on fantasy fiction, with an intricate plot and rapid pacing that keeps the pages turning from start to finish. From the moment a teenager shows up in a small-town E.R. with dragoninflicted burns to the exciting (and literally world-shattering) final scenes, BETWEEN combines humor, action, and an unusual take on fantasy themes.

A Person of Interest This book is a highly poignant examination of how the combination of personality, circumstances, otherness, and a climate of hysteria can result in becoming a "person of interest" to law enforcement agencies, unleashing both official and community forces that can virtually destroy a life regardless of ultimate guilt. When aging professor Lee, teaching mathematics at a small mid-Western college, is nearly killed by the blast from a mail-bomb opened by a colleague in the adjacent office, his strained relationships in the dept, his Asian background, his failure to evince sufficient sympathy, and his nervous behavior around authorities make him a convenient target.
