Sewing All seam allowances are 1⁄4” (.64cm) and pieces are sewn right sides together. Snowball Blocks 1. Draw a line diagonally from corner to corner on the wrong side of the (312) Fabric AB squares. 2. Place a Fabric AB square on the right upper corner of a Fabric B square, matching the raw edges and positioning the drawn line in the direction shown. Sew along the drawn line and trim the seam allowance to 1⁄4” (.64cm) (Fig. 1). Repeat to sew a Fabric AB square to the remaining Fabric B square corners, press seam allowances as shown in Figure 2, to complete a Snowball Block.

Sew (1) 31⁄2” x 17” (8.89cm x 43.18cm) Fabric B Border 1 strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the rectangle. Press seam allowances toward Fabric B. 5. Sew (1) 21⁄2” x 241⁄2” (6.35cm x 62.23cm) Fabric C Border 2 strips to each side of the Fabric A/B panel. Sew (1) 21⁄2” x 21” (6.35cm x 53.34cm) Fabric C Border 2 strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the rectangle. Press seam allowances toward Fabric C. 6. Quilt Top Assembly Follow the Quilt Layout diagram on page 6 while assembling the quilt. 7. Sew (3) Snowball blocks together in a row. Repeat to make a total of (4) rows, pressing the seam allowances in opposite directions for adjacent rows. Sew the rows together to make a Side Panel. 8. Repeat step 7 to make a second Side Panel. 9. Sew a Side Panel to each side of the Center Panel. 10. Sew (9) Snowball blocks together in a row. Repeat to make a total of (3) rows. Press seam allowances in opposite directions for adjacent rows. Sew the rows together to make a Top/Bottom Panel. 11. Repeat step 10 to make a second Top/Bottom Panel.

12. Sew (1) Top/Bottom Panel to the top and the other to the bottom of the Center section to complete the quilt top center. 13. Sew (1) 41⁄2” x 76” (11.43cm x 193.04cm) Fabric C Border 4 strip to each side of the quilt top center. Sew (1) 41⁄2” x 751⁄2” (11.43cm x 191.77cm) Fabric C Border 4 strip to the top and the other to the bottom of the panel to complete the quilt top. Press the seam allowances toward Fabric C.
Finishing 14. Sew together the (9) 21⁄2” x WOF (6.35cm x WOF) Fabric AB binding strips end to end using diagonal seams. Press the seams open. Press the binding strip in half wrong sides together. 15. Layer the backing (wrong side up), batting, and quilt top (right side up). Baste the layers together and quilt as desired. Trim excess batting and backing even with the top after quilting is completed. 16. Leaving an 8” (20.32cm) tail of binding, sew binding to top of quilt through all layers matching all raw edges. Miter corners. Stop approximately 12” (30.48cm) from where you started. Lay both loose ends of binding flat along quilt edge. Where these two loose ends meet, fold them back on themselves and press to form a crease. Using this crease as your stitching line, sew the two open ends of the binding together right sides together. Trim seam to 1 ⁄4” (.64cm) and press open. Finish sewing binding to quilt. 17. Turn the binding to the back of quilt and hand-stitch in place.
