Thought
Imagine the possibilities.
The door is opened. If we can predict our thoughts,
the future willl be within our grasp.
Regret
John’s head pounded just thinking of the catastrophe of last night. An extravagant party, an extravagant embarrassment. He walked out the door into the city, ready to forget.
Isolation vs. Solitude
Day 6: Quartermaster Evans went up to Hemsworth as he got to the top of the stairs. “Do you have him?” the quartermaster asked. “Yes,” Hemsworth responded. “He is the key to changing the world.”
“Thoughts are the shadows of our feelings – always darker, emptier, and simpler.” –Nietzsche
Thoughts are influenced by our id, which oftentimes contains our darkest feelings. Ifdreamscountasthoughts, whichIbelievetheydo, thentosaytheyareemptierisfar from the truth.
“I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can’t see from the center.” – Vonnegut
One push and you’re done
“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
We are driven by our need to be responsible. This formulates society into a must: There is need to not feed upon the seas and the skies; we must knead our own
“One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous, or honest.” – Angelou
As our metaphorical boat encounters headwinds, tradewinds, and such in the blue watery plane of existence, we need those two masts to keep us going. Yes, courage could be our willingness to go onward, but to me it more encompasses our desire to go above and beyond our motivations and our actions
“The Beautiful, is what is well formed and aesthetically pleasing, whereas the Sublime is what has the power to compel and destroy us.” – Burke
They say the beauty is in the eye of the beholder To say sublime is radiant The sense of pure joy it leaks upon the world The state of accepted subjectivity A creamy, delicious array of frosting that spices up the cake of life Satisfaction in clarity
Anticipation
Jeremy walked into the saloon. He held his shotgun with a grip usually reserved for duels. The man could be anywhere. His eyes darted back and forth. Both the bartenders and the visitors looked at him with a sense of confusion and panic. Seeing a flash from upstairs, Jeremy followed his eyes and advanced up the stairs. He was filled with a sense of desire to destroy. He stepped into the first room on the left, and there he met his fate.
