Everything Begins With

Thought

At times I wish I could just rewind. Go back and change my past. Do things differently. Live a life without

Regret

Sublime

How can we distinguish

what makes a thing sublime Is it the feeling it provokes

Or its beauty gained through time I try to grasp the concept

But can’t fully understand

Why this one word can have me At it’s every last command.

Isolation When I think of Isolation I always imagine A tree that sits by itself alone on the top of a hill. I don’t know why I always think of this, but it’s something i’ve thoought ever since I was a child. Maybe it comes from all the places that I used to go to when I wanted to be alone. Maybe it’s me creating A place that I could escape to. Away from the rest of the world.

I Change the world, I change myself

Moral Culpability VS. Free will

The snake that cannot shed its skin perishes

First Snow He awoke to the sight of some glazed over scenery, gray shades of a life that became filled with misery, Trying to hold tight but the gust blows him back, as he searches for the pieces that kept his life on track, Lost, searching for the light, through kaleidoscopic visions, of an iridescent sky, And he smiles to himself because deep down inside, he knows, that if he tries, he can keep his dream alive, But the winter never left only his friends and his family, playing hopscotch on the border of himself and insanity, try to find a way out, he doesn’t really want to, it’s hard to do things right when your mistakes will always haunt you, when you’ve lost it all and have nothing left to give, it’s only then that you see life for what it truly is, A gift, thats sometimes lost within the waves, and your sitting counting seconds when you’ve lost count of the days, and your ashamed of what you have become, living hell, a turtle can’t survive if he never leaves his shell, so you change, advance, progress, move on, set the tempo of your life to the rhythm of a song. etch your story on the surface of everything you touch, fall victim to the sweet allure of someones love, graceful and gentle, alleviate the pain, born from a thorn on that cold winter day.

What did you notice about the way you responded to the prompts. Did it change through out the project? The way that I responded to the prompts actually changed a lot of the course of the entire project. Some days I would find myself writing a poem and other days I would find myself analyzing the prompts and exploring them on a deeper level. What was your favorite prompt and why? What were your favorite materials and why? My favorite prompt was “thoughts are the shadows of our feelings” and my favorite materials were pencil and paper. I liked the prompt because it was a very interesting idea to explore since I agree with it so much. thoughts are always much darker then what people actually decide to show because in their head they aren’t limited by all the rules of the world. They are allowed to think whatever they want without having to worry about the consequences forcing them to be a certain way. Unlike most of the other prompts we were given this one actually motivated and intrigued me. I liked the the pencil and paper the most, which just so happened to go along with my favorite prompt, because I have being drawing with pencil ever since I was able to hold one and it is the medium that I’m most comfortable with so I naturally felt more confident about using it. Give a specific example of places you took risks in your photography, art projects, and writing, explain how they are risks. Address both formal/structural risks and content related risks. Support with specific visual examples. I took risks with a lot of the materials that I wasn’t used to using. I took a really big risk with the Acrylic paint and it ended up not working at all but I think that next time I’ll be able to use them a little better because I know how it works a little more and that I can’t use as much paint as I thought. It was my first time using Acrylic paint and it didn’t turn out so well, but I’m going to practice it and hopefully improve because it is really fun to use. What are some consistencies you notice in the formal qualities of your works? Are there things you always do? Is your line quality consistent, is your compositional arrangement consistent? Explain. Support visually with specific examples. What I have noticed in a majority of my work is that I tend to always put my focus point in the middle of the composition and then enter everything around it. Like in my colored-pencil drawing I have a boy standing in the middle and colors are shooting out of his head. He is surrounded by clouds with hearts dangling down from them and a moon in the right corner. The focus of the picture is clear and centered, but everything else around him is pretty balanced. I don’t usually put more on on side then I do the other and I very rarely have my focus in a different spot then the center. What are some consistencies you notice in the conceptual approach you took to your pieces. Do they have a consistent mood? Do they have a consistent energy? Support visually. I’ve noticed that I like to draw lots of weird characters like the ones in my pencil and charcoal drawings. I find that I usually can’t express myself as well unless I make these surreal and creepy characters. The theme is almost always dark and unsettling which you would see either by their misshapen and deformed bodies or by the environment I’ve put them in.
