Junior Rangers

Discover your inner-park ranger and build outdoor skills in this fun-filled week of nature exploration and outdoor experiential learning! This camp focuses on building courage and confidence through accomplishments. Each camper will have the opportunity to earn various badges through crafts, activities and overall good attitudes. Badges in fishing, boating safety, and birding can be earned among others. We’ll dive into the inner-workings of Central Park and get a closer look at Lake Elizabeth from a Park Ranger’s perspective.

Innovation Thanksgiving Camp

Come and explore with us! At Camp Innovation you’ll experience fun through hands-on arts, science, cooking and more! Campers will participate in science experiments, different art forms, and easy culinary creations. Every day will be an opportunity to engage with your fellow campers, discover and create!

Re-Imagine Camp

Use your inner creativity and self-expression to reimagine ways to explore different forms of STEAM activities such as cooking, science, arts and more through hands-on activities and group games!

Academic Writing Camp: Persuasive Authors

Express yourself formally, win arguments, and learn the art of persuasion. In this fun and engaging class, students master the art of forming and expressing their opinions clearly and persuasively. Students analyze texts from charismatic figures, learn techniques for effective word choice, and develop an understanding of other people’s points of view – all while improving their grammar and writing style. Master the art of speaking and learn to put your own spin on famous speeches. In this fun and engaging class, students improve their confidence and master expressing themselves by exploring and presenting speeches from literature, movies and famous figures from history. Lekha Writing Camps

Create - A - Book

The art of bookmaking and illustrating books will be the focus of this week. While creating three different types of books, students will infuse their stories with descriptive language, creating vibrant pictures in the reader’s mind. Material Fee: $20.

Winter Wonder-Lab

Step into the Mad Science Winter Wonder-Lab and watch a snowman sublimate before your very eyes as we explore the 3 states of matter! We will tinker with technology and learn the science behind some of our favorite toys! Kids will learn about polymers and make their own Mad Science Super Ball ornament! Our junior scientists will be charged up when they experiment with switches and batteries and build a string of holiday lights! Material Fee: $30.

“Fizz”-ical Phenomena & Che-Mystery

Have a ton of fun as we whip up potions and experiment with all kinds of chemistry, including growing crystals, making sidewalk chalk, and learning the science of chromatography!! Mix it up as we experiment with molecular madness, radical reactions, and “fizz”-ical and chemical reactions. Materials Fee: $30.

Robotics using LEGO® WeDo® System

Build and program robots in this introductory Robotics class using the LEGO® WeDo® system. Learn basic programming skills, simple engineering concepts, and the names of robot components, and complete a variety of projects using tilt and motion sensors. This is a great way to prepare young Robotics enthusiasts for our more advanced Robotics programs

Robotics using LEGO® EV3

Rise to the challenge to build and program robots using the LEGO® Mindstorms EV3 system! Learn about mechanical and software design, loops, conditional statements, problem solving, and teamwork skills. Design and construct your robot to avoid obstacles, pick up and carry objects, and play sounds. Projects are structured so that students work in an open-ended, investigative environment while having fun.

Countries around the world celebrate holidays with unique practices and specialty foods. In Italy Tricolore Orzo Pasta Salad is eaten pre-New Year as it symbolizes wealth and prosperity; eating Chinese Sesame seed balls are a metaphor for businesses who make a small investment in hopes of a large return; Carrot and Moong Dahl Salad is served at Indian wedding, and more!!

Magic Camps

Become A Magician Camp

Abracadabra - Sim Sala Bim! Get ready for three days of magic tricks. Learning magic tricks can develop self confidence, ignite creativity, further develop fine motor skills and spark an interest in reading. Campers will be shown how to put on their own short magic show. Each camper receives their very own bag of tricks with a wand, wizard hat, deck of cards, magic booklet and several tricks to keep. Materials fee due of first day: $17.

Magic Wizard Camp

Too far to take your child to Hogwarts, Harry Potters School of Wizardry? Why not bring them to the Magic Wizard Camp. Welcome to learning how to do easier magic tricks! Discover how to make an object disappear or how to read a mind through an encouraging, step by step method. Have fun while learning from a qualified magician! Each camper will receive their own bag of tricks, a wand, and a Wizards Hat to take home at the end of camp. Materials Fee: $17 due on first day. Instructor: Larry Wertman
