ROSS DUKE WINE COMPANY 2010 BURGUNDY OFFER – PART 1 Foreword by Ross Duke Firstly, thank you for your great support of our recent Rhone Revolution-New Alsace-Old Chablis & Stunning Macon catalogue. It is always exciting when one comes across such special wines when visiting France to then offer them successfully to you all for your enjoyment. Our portfolio is quite vast now but if something else bobs up you can be sure we will make an offer to you for your consideration. We are pleased to begin offering our 2010 Burgundy wines with this being Part 1. I am sure you all appreciate that all the growers in this region do not bottle their wines at the same time. Therein lies our dilemma each year. And yes, it has happened yet again this year. This is why we are offering our range in two parts, one now and the second part in October. The 2010 harvest was quite a small one as problems during flowering and with problems along the way, this reduced the overall production by between 20% and 45%. The northern villages fared the worst with Gevrey-Chambertin topping the lot at an average of 45% loss. Therefore it will be necessary for us to allocate a higher number of wines for this vintage than normal. We ask you to place your order and we will contact you to confirm your allocation which may need to topped up with other wines to round out cases for delivery. In terms of quality the 2010 vintage was exceptional with many growers believing their 2010’s to be superior to 2009, 2008 and 2007. From my perspective I agree to a certain extent but have a long term faith in 2008 developing beautifully over the ensuing years whereas 2009 and 2007 are still very good but over the shorter and medium term. Another aspect to this year is the harmony between the reds and the whites. Normally it is one or the other BUT I am highly impressed by both types which is particularly uncommon in Burgundy as I am sure many of you will attest to? Following our Part 1 Burgundy Offer, we will feature our growers Champagne’s in the run up to Christmas. We trust that the dollar holds up to enable us to continue to give you all the best prices possible. Vic had a great time in Champagne this year, as I did as well, and unearthed some ‘special’ wines to tantalise us all. So we will finish the year off in fine style culminating 2012 with White & Red Burgundy Part 2. To assist you further we have included photographs of all Domaine’s that will be offered at the back of the catalogue. So, as you can see we still have a lot in store for you for the remainder of 2012 and we look forward to your comments and reactions in due course. Cheers, Ross, Bev, Sarah, Victor & Adam

**NEW GROWER** DOMAINE ROBERT DENOGENT, FUISSE

Jean-Jacques and Nicolas

The village of Fuissé

The Domaine

The Denogents have worked their vineyards since the beginning of the 20th century with most of their 5 hectare of vineyards in the ‘Vieille Vignes’ category with two old timers (Les Carrons & Les Reisses) at 89 years of age with Cuvee Claude Denogent 80 years, ‘La Croix’ 72 years, ‘Les Pommards at 55 years, and make up the remainder with the two juniors ‘Clos des Bertillonnes’ a spritely 20 years and the baby of them all ‘Les Taches’ at just 15 years! Jean-Jacques Denogent and his son Nicolas are at the helm at present and are doing a masterful job with precise white Burgundy’s of a fineness, balance and delicacy that is just so alluring. Their wines are highly fruit driven with very little new oak used preferring old, neutral oak. So the wines have to stand on the quality of the fruit they grow and protect. And what a stunning result. I have known and tasted this estate for a few years now but I never buy any wine until I have visited the vineyard and cellar of he grower first. This was a revelation and I can assure you of the highest quality of Fuissé I have come across!!

POUILLY-FUISSE 2010 ‘LES REISSES’ ‘Psst… 89 year old vines! What depth and complexity for a Chardonnay based white. Ripe and rich middle palate more in the lemon/lime/grapefruit spectrum with outstanding balance of fruit, acid and terroir. Formidable! This is not to be missed.’

$41.65/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3742 (landed $47.90)

CLOS SALOMON, GIVRY

Another great outcome by this ancient estate in the beautiful town of Givry. Ludovic crafts beautiful wines, both red and white, from their hectare vineyards. The viticultural approach is very natural with minimum use of chemicals in the vineyard and winery. When one is producing just three wines his concentration to produce absolute quality is assisted by such a limited range of wine.

GIVRY 2010 ‘GRAND BERGE’ 1er CRU ‘This was 35h/hectare which is well below appellation. Ripe but with a mineral background. Fine balance and lingering length.’ $34.95/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3744 (landed $40.00)

CLOS SALOMON 2010 GIVRY 1er CRU, ROUGE ‘Deep, vibrant red colour but slightly closed. High fruit tannin with fine structure. Such a lovely style of red Burgundy and destined to mature beautifully.’ $34.85/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3745 (landed $40.00) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

DOMAINE NINOT, RULLY It is always a pleasure to visit the pretty village of Rully and particularly the very pretty Erell Ninot and her lovely range of wines! I always walk away from her with red wine dripping down the front of my shirt. The 2010 vintage was a great vintage in the Cote Chalonaise – both red and white. All three of the wines we have on offer are particularly fine and full of character and style. Normally it is either the red or the whites that shine in most vintage but not 2010 it is both. Be quick as we don’t have a huge stock so when it’s gone it’s gone!!

RULLY 2010 ‘GRESIGNY’ 1er CRU ‘More pronounced fruit with higher acid and lots of minerals. Only bottled in February so it will fill out even more. But what an impressive flavour impact given this situation?’

$30.35/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3746 (landed $34.90) RULLY 2010 ‘VIEILLES VIGNES’ ROUGE ‘A juicy wine from the beginning and full of strawberry/cherry fruit but so round and silky. The old vines make it even more delicious. Irresistible.’ $27.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3747 (landed $31.60) RULLY 2010 ‘LES CRETS’ 1er CRU ‘Juicy again with a little bit more depth of tannin but the silky texture remains. Just two lovely Pinots from this so under-rated region.’

$34.25/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3748 (landed $39.40)

**NEW GROWER** DOMAINE ANTOINE OLIVIER, SANTENAY

Rachel & Antoine

Chardonnay 2010 ‘Les 2 Dindes’

Domaine Olivier is another producer that I have tasted for several years before I took that final step. So here we are and I am sure you will be exceedingly pleased we have included Antoine into our selection. Their whites are the stand out although his reds are exciting as well. The vineyards are located on a very high location above the village of Santenay. This outer village is called Santenay Haut (high) and with this higher site the grapes hold much higher acidity than the vines at a lower level around the village. Therefore they are more racy and more minerally in character almost between a Chablis and Puligny-Montrachet in balance and style. The ‘Les 2 Dindes’ is a fabulous wine and just exceptional value as are all of Antoine’s wines. Hang onto your hat with these little beauties.

BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 2010 ‘LES 2 DINDES’ ‘The two turkeys is just so impressive as well as being complex. The 100% Chardonnay is comprised of 85% appellation Bourgogne and 15% Santenay appellation. The wine was aged in old oak barrels for 12 months with no new oak at all. The wine was then left on lees (expired yeast cells) for 3 months to add more complexity of taste. The green/gold colour is exactly what I hoped for which followed juicy lime/lemon fruit with crisp and minerally acidity with a ripe apple edge and lingering length of flavour. This is a steal at the quality/price ratio!’

$24.35/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3749 (landed $28.00) SANTENAY 2010 ‘SOUS LE ROCHE’ VILLAGE BLANC ‘Under the rock lies a stunning white Burgundy. What a flavour – full of passionfruit, grapefruit and even lychee – quite exotic and highly attractive. Good acid balance and one could say a cross between Meursault and Chablis. An individual style but just so exciting.’

$35.65/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3750 (landed $41.00) SANTENAY 2010 ‘BEAUREPAIRE’ 1er CRU ‘Richer and riper colour – light/gold with a tinge of green. More aligned with apple/grapefruit with excellent acid balance and a concentrated palate of great depth. Keep this for up to 5 years or more and enjoy the result.’

$46.60/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3751 (landed $53.60) SANTENAY 2010 ‘BEAUREPAIRE’ 1er CRU ROUGE ‘Medium ruby red colour and shines in the glass. Lots of raspberries and cherries on the palate. The vines are 40 years of age with 30% new oak, 30% one year old barrels and the balance in 2-4 year old casks. A little bit closed on the middle palate but the structure informs me it will fill out beautifully in the bottle. High toned Pinot Noir.’

$40.90/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3752 (landed $47.00) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

**NEW GROWER** DOMAINE HENRI PRUDHON, SAINT- AUBIN

Three generations of Prudhon’s

Beautiful Saint-Aubin

The Prudhon family is one of the oldest families in the village of Saint-Aubin. The vineyards have been passed down through the generations along with their knowledge and love of wine. Today, the Domaine Henri Prudhon and sons covers 15 hectares, spread out over Saint-Aubin and its neighbouring communes Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The vines are split equally between red (Pinot Noir) and white (Chardonnay and Aligoté). The whole family is involved in the business: Gerard, who has taken over the reins from his father, having joined him in 1970, his wife Bernadette as well as their three children. Vincent joined his parents after completing a degree in business studies in 1997, whilst Philippe, a qualified oenologue started work at the Domaine in 2001. This is not to forget the grandparents, Henri and Simone, now in their eighties and still committed to their work in the vines. So it certainly is a real family affair! This is our first offering from this impressive Domaine who possesses outstanding vineyards in one of my favourite villages in Burgundy.

SAINT-AUBIN 2010 ‘SUR LE SENTIER DU CLOU’ 1er CRU BLANC ‘Impressive nose, colour and palate. Very expressive wine and shows the flintiness of Saint-Aubin whites with a rich background to add complexity. Just delicious and will keep.’

$34.20/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3753 (landed $39.30) SAINT- AUBIN 2010 ‘SUR GAMAY’ 1er CRU BLANC ‘Just near the immortal ‘Dents de Chien’ and it shows! This is more Chablis like than most Chablis these days. I love this style and you certainly will. Stunning.’

$35.15/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3754 (landed $40.40)

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LA GARENNE’ 1er CRU ‘La Garenne is a gem of a Puligny-Montrachet Premiers Cru as it is perched high above the village and only 9.5 hectares in total with only a handful of growers making this prized white Burgundy. I, in fact, think it is Grand Cru quality as this 2010 Prudhon shows. It has everything from engaging green/gold colour minerally nose and a deft balance to the palate. Sorry our stock is small but don’t miss this marvellous white Burgundy.’ $70.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3755 (landed $81.00)

Vincent & Philippe Prudhon SAINT- AUBIN 2010 ‘CUVEE LES ROUGES GORGES’ 1er CRU ‘Fine ruby colour with flowery nose. The flavour is rich and ripe with red berry fruits and so round and velvety. What a mouthful of red Burgundy. Everyone will love this one! So be quick!’ $31.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3756(landed $35.65)

SAINT -AUBIN 2010 ‘LES FRIONNES’ ROUGE 1er CRU ‘Another gem from this fine producer. They pack so much flavour, character and style into these red wines. Lots of raspberry/cherry and blackberry fruit. A nice touch of fruit tannin to add weight and complexity and fine balance to finish it off.’ $31.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3757 (landed $35.65) SAINT- AUBIN 2010 ‘SUR LE SENTIER DU CLOU ROUGE 1er ‘Vieilles Vignes’ ‘A more ‘terroir’ driven type with an earthy note on the nose and the palate is red berry fruits and a slight chocolate nuance. Beautifully balanced and as long as a monkeys tongue! Psst…. 65 year old vines to boot!’’ $31.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3758 (landed $35.65) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

DOMAINE ALAIN CHAVY, PULIGNY-MONTRACHET

Alain Chavy has done it again! Another superb range of authentic Puligny’s. Tasting both the 2010 and 2011 vintages this year I cannot remember tasting two vintages with Alain that were so much the same in character. The acid levels and fruit intensity were just so similar allowing of course for the younger 2011 wine to fill out more in barrel before bottling. These are classical styles of white burgundy and will continue to grow and grow in the bottle.

BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY 2010 ‘Now look at that superb, green/gold colour – very promising. The flavour reflects the promise with soft, ripe fruit in the pear/grapefruit nuance with gentle acidity to allow early to medium term drinking. Just a lovely uncomplicated wine screaming out for some seafood!!’ $18.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3759 (landed $20.70) PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LES CHARMES’ VILLAGE ‘Guess what? A similar colour to the Bourgogne! However this is richer and riper again with an earthy ‘terroir’ nose. Less mineral depth but ever so attractive and drinkable for the shorter term.’ $53.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3760 (landed $60.95) SAINT- AUBIN 2010 ‘EN REMILLY’ 1er CRU ‘Now don’t get me started again on Saint Aubin. I will just say that this epitomises the quality of Saint Aubin whites. Say no more!!!’ $43.40/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3761 (landed $49.90)

2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

Page 8

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LES CLAVOILLONS’ 1er CRU ‘Another ‘terroirist’ with charming and correct colour. This wine is normally fatter and fuller in flavour but the 2010 model is quite fine although there is a richness of fruit but ever so elegant. A quick kiss of 25% new oak adds an edge and the acid balance is spot on!’

$70.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3762 (landed $81.00) PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LES FOLATIERES’ 1er CRU ‘The ‘Folatieres’ is becoming much finer and more fruity as the vines get that much older. However the signature of Puligny is absolute!’

$70.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3763 (landed $81.00)

PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LES CHAMPS GAIN’ 1er CRU ‘Authentic Puligny with high level of minerality, crisp acidity but ripeness lurks in the background, which will need time to express itself. Marvellous balance.’

$67.30/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3764 (landed $77.40) PULIGNY-MONTRACHET 2010 ‘LES PUCELLES’ 1er CRU ‘Such great intensity of lime/grapefruit and pear like fruit. Great depth and class. For me Grand Cru quality!’

$73.65/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3765 (landed $84.70)

DOMAINE RAPET PERE ET FILS, PERNAND-VERGELESSES

Yes, the wines of Vincent Rapet continue to be fine-tuned each time I visit – particularly the whites. The contribution made by their new Cuverie (cellar building) is obvious as even their village white is fabulous going right up to their famous Corton-Charlemagne. The village reds also show the benefits of the new cellar with fine fruit quality and overall balance. A great outcome for 2010 but little volume available, particularly the whites.

PERNAND-VERGELESSES 2010 ‘EN CARADEUX’ 1er CRU ‘One is immediately hitt with a complex flavour of lime. Lemon and grapefruit on the first taste and grows in intensity upon further tasting. A very long and fresh palate. A little gem of a Chardonnay!’

$56.15/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3766 (landed $64.55) CORTON-CHARLEMAGNE 2010 GRAND CRU ‘Another wine that is closed so structure was assessed and it is a substantial wine requiring many years in bottle up to 10 years at least. We have 30% of 50 year old vines utilising 4 separate parcels from various locations of Charlemagne. Vincent used 50% new oak which adds complexity and weight to the framework of the wine. Great, great potential here which takes me back to the immortal 1998 wine of the same vineyard!’

$124.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3767 (landed $143.00)

ALOXE-CORTON 2010 VILLAGE ‘A delightful flowery aroma is a nice greeting? Stunning expression of red berry fruits with a lick of tannin and ever so round and soft palate. Just a lovely village wine of great quality indeed!’ $32.75/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3768 (landed $37.65)

BEAUNE 2010 ‘LES BRESSANDES’ 1er CRU ‘Deep, vibrant colour that sparkles in the glass'. Highly concentrated, long and so stylish. Impressive by any measure.’ $61.85/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3769 (landed $71.15) PERNAND-VERGELESSES 2010 ‘ILE DES VERGELESSES’ 1er CRU ‘What a star. Medium ruby red colour (less iron in the soil). So, so fine with the usual mineral edge and long, long flavour. A keeper for sure and a classic definitely!’ $72.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3770 (landed $82.80)

CORTON 2010 ‘POUGETS’ GRAND CRU ‘Bright ruby colour. An elegant, feminine style with fine balance with a little dry tannic finish owing to 40% new oak being used. Superb wine but somewhat young for now.’ $105.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3771 (landed $121.30) CORTON 2010 GRAND CRU ‘Commanding deep red colour with excellent clarity. More fruit tannin than the ‘Pougets’ as well as a very long palate. Certainly needs time in bottle beyond 10 years.’ $105.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3772 (landed $121.30) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

CLOS DES LAMBRAYS, MOREY-SAINT-DENIS

A lovely tasting with Thierry. The 2010 wines were excellent showing great depth and character. The 2011 wines were equally impressive with ripe and luscious fruit and not the firmer tannin shown by the 2010’s. The 2011 vintage began on the 31st August and the M.S.D. Village recorded only 25 hectolitre/hectare, whereas the Grand Cru recorded 31 hect/hectare which was 20% up on the Grand Cru 2010! 2010 MOREY-ST-DENIS VILLAGE To be bottled in 2 weeks. Vibrant and bright deep ruby colour although the nose was a bit closed. The palate was rich, ripe and luscious and very long palate. Outstanding village wine situated in a Grand Cru location. BIG CROP LOSSES HERE - ORDERS LIMITED TO ONE (1) BOTTLE PER ORDER $75.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3773 (landed $86.25)

2010 CLOS DES LAMBRAYS, GRAND CRU. Deeper and darker ruby colour with a slight purple edge. Explosive palate that is long and concentrated. Superb balance. $197.00/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3774 (landed $226.55) $101.50/ 375 ml bt Pre-arrival Code: 3775 (landed $117.00) $395.00/Magnum bt Pre-arrival Code: 3776 (landed $454.00) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

DOMAINE BART, MARSANNAY

YES IT’S HERE AGAIN – THE WONDERFUL PINOT NOIR ROSE FROM BART!! I got off the mark early this year and immediately ordered our stock the moment I tasted the 2011 during my visit. Pierre almost fainted and Odile grabbed a wet towel to douse herself down! Such was the great surprise. Besides all that our little beauty was up to top form in 2011 and all the strawberry fruit was on display with deft balance cleaning acidity and a softness and length on the palate that prompted me to buy a case and take it back to our house to slurp!! It is little wonder that Marsannay’s main production wine is Rosé. Well in advance of red or white wine. It is difficult to find an average Rosé in the entire village. BUT we think we have the best and brightest. If you have not tried Barts Rose until now then shame on you as you don’t know what you are missing out on. Rectify that immediately and fill in the order form right now! Promise??

Champagne Seleque Pierry - Sud-Epernay 12 hectares Seleque is a new discovery on my recent annual pilgrimage to Champagne. This is a relatively new family business, with Henri Seleque planting vineyards in 1965, and bottling his own wine in 1969. The two sons, Richard and John started working in the business in 1974. Now we have Richard's eldest daughter Nathalie, and John's son Jean-Marc working in the business. Jean-Marc is overseeing the viticultural side of the business, and at only 23 years of age, he is showing himself to be mature, focussed and passionate. Vineyard and environmental sustainability is paramount. Their 12 hectares of vineyards are spread across 40 parcels over eight different villages – three being the great 1er Crus of Pierry, Vertus and Dizy. The varietal mix is 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir – with vineyard age varying from 18 up to 60 years. It is a nice mix to have, the Chardonnay gives finesse and elegance, the Meunier provides roundness and complexity, and the Pinot offers crisp red fruit characters. Jean-Marc worked at Domain Chandon in the Yarra Valley in 2008 and has some fond memories and amazing stories of his time there. He is in the process of converting 7ha of vineyards to bio-dynamic viticulture. Most wines go through malo-lactic fermentation, and most of the reserve wines are stored in small oak barrels. One feature of the Seleque wines was the noticeable quality of all the 2008 based blends. The growers are generally very quiet about speculating on vintage quality – but it was certainly evident to us that anything based on 2008 was sensational. The word is out that 2008 is certainly a supreme vintage and is comparable to 1996 – and probably superior to 2002. The acidity and structure is in perfect balance and the wines will repay cellaring. Irrespective of the quality of current vintages – we are in a fortunate period of Champagne viticulture – there have been no mediocre vintages in the last decade – leading to excellent quality non-vintage cuvees. Jean-Marc has a new cuvee to be released next year – Cuvee Partition – with more oak and blocking of malo-lactic.

Seleque Cuvee Speciale 60% Chardonnay, 30% Meunier and 10% Pinot Noir blend from Pierry, Dizy and Vertus. 60% from the great 2008 vintage with 40% older reserve wines. With three years on lees – this cuvee reveals lovely toasty and smoky aromas – with hints of citrus – all tightly wound by the mineral Chardonnay overtones. Mousse is fine and persistent; dosage is a low 7g/L. Approachable now and can be used as an aperitif or with food. Code: 3778 Pre-arrival $37.00 (Landed $40.70)

2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

Page 15

Seleque Or Blanc 100% Chardonnay from Pierry, Dizy and Vertus. We first tasted this at a grower’s exhibition in Epernay Wow what a knock-out Champagne. One reason for its superb quality is that this cuvee is 100% from 2008 – but not labelled us such – a truly great vintage. 60% vinified in tank with 40% vinified in 228 and 300 litres oak barrels. With three years on lees we see some floral and tropical overtones, citrus and minerals along with some subtle oak influence. The balance is perfect, the mousse is persistent, and the palate is pure, long and crisp. Dosage is a low 6g/L. Maybe more an aperitif and sushi style. Magic and a bargain. $41.50/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3779 (Landed $45.65)

Seleque Comedie 2007 First produced in 1995 in memory of Jean-Marc's grandfather Henri Seleque – founder of the business. This used to be the standard millesime cuvee with Henri's portrait on the muselet. After Jean-Marc's return from Australia – he asked his grandmother how best to describe Henri. She said he was a comedian and hence the cuvee was renamed. The muselet also now includes Jean-Marc's grand-mother's photo who passed away this year. From the oldest and most prestigious vineyard parcels. 75% Chardonnay with 10% Meunier and 15% Pinot. 60% vinified in tank with 40% vinified in 228 and 300 litres oak barrels. With four years on lees we see hints of white fruits, apricot, pistachio and citrus. A very pure style with elegance and finesse in abundance. Piercing minerality is a feature leading to a really long palate coating finish. Very classy. Dosage 4g/L. 2007 was a very good vintage overall with Chardonnay doing particularly well. $46.80/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3780 (Landed $51.50)

Seleque Serenade Rose de Saignee 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay all from 2008 has produced an amazing rose. The Pinot has been 'triaged' (selected) two times, once by the pickers – choosing only the best bunches, and a second selection in the cuverie. It is important when making a saignee rose to only press pristine quality grapes. There is colour and flavour extraction from the skins and damaged skins will lead to impure flavours. The subtle maceration phase lasted for 72 hours. The Chardonnay component has been aged in 300 litre oak barrels. Dosage 6g/L. This is quite an extra-ordinary cuvee, and was one of the stand-out wines tasted during our time in Champagne. The smoky red fruit of the pinot component is beautifully balanced by the citrus zest of the oak matured Chardonnay. Sour cherries in abundance, hints of strawberry and exotic fruits. This is essentially a 'vintage' rose – which is rare to find in Champagne. Stunning quality. $51.30/bt Pre-arrival Code: 3781 (Landed $56.45) 2010 Burgundy Offer - PART 1

Verreries de la Marne

Glassware - Reims

Les Authentiques No. 2 ‘Sonhyx’ The ‘Sonhyx’ glass whilst designed and made in the Champagne region we can recommend them as an all purpose glass as well. The finess of the glass and overall shape is suitable for both white and red table wines as well.We have been discussing with Gerard at ‘Verreries de la Marne’ to cosider producing a machine made version of the classic ‘Les Authentiques No 2 ‘Sonhyx’ glass. And we were successful indeed!! It has been made in one piece and from a resilient scratch proof material – to be dish-washer safe and more robust. The mouth blown version is a superb glass – truly elegant – full of finesse – and accentuates the bubbles very subtley. This new version is no less superb – virtually identical in shape and design – a little heavier in the hand but slightly shinier and smoother. Naturally being machine made it is cheaper. It is made from a new material called ‘Sonhyx’. Highly recommended. Only available in multiples of 6.
