To you have been entrusted the affairs of this church. To you who have been elected Elders is entrusted the spiritual oversight of the congregation. It shall be your duty to watch over the spiritual and moral well-being of this congregation. To you who have been elected Trustees is entrusted the temporal oversight of the congregation. To you who have been elected our Graveyard Committee is entrusted the care and maintenance of our graveyard.
All of you have been chosen by council to serve as stewards of this portion of the flock of our Lord. (The congregation and board members will stand.) For as much as you have indicated your willingness to serve in these offices, do you now promise and covenant in the presence of this assembled congregation and before God to accept the responsibilities of the office to which you have been elected, and do you promise faithfully to perform all duties thereof, trusting in the strength of Jesus Christ your Lord? I do most heartily in the strength of Jesus Christ, my Lord and of His spirit. Do you, as members of this church, acknowledge and receive these persons as stewards of the ministry of this church, and do you promise to yield to them all that honor, encouragement and obedience in the Lord, to which their office according to the Word of God and their responsibility to this church entitles them? We do. (The congregation shall bow in prayer.) Let us Pray. Set apart, O Lord, these servants to the work for which you have called them by the voice of this people. Give them heavenly wisdom. Grant them your grace that they may be good servants, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, serving in the fear of God and overseeing this congregation. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the authority committed to me in His Church, I hearby declare you duly constituted and set apart as officers and leaders in our Congregation. ANNOUNCEMENTS Unity Prayer Watch at Friedland Monday, January 13, 2012 from Midnight- 8:00 AM We are asking our church family to sign-up for 30minute segments for prayer during our portion of the Prayer Watch. Prayer Watch sign-up sheets will be available in the vestibule near the back door of the sanctuary or you can see Brent Weavil. Daily Text - 2014 There are regular print Daily Text for 2014 available in the church office. Cost: $10.00. Please pay by correct change or check to Friedland; write daily text on check memo line. There is only 1 large print left at $12.00. Beeswax Candles — Recycle Friedland members of the Mary Ann Fogle Service League are collecting used beeswax candles. We will clean the candles in preparation for melting and pouring the wax into the molds. If you would like to donate your used candles, there will be a box on the table at the members mailboxes. We will collect candles during the month of January.
