The Adult Choir is currently preparing music for the Christmas season, including the cantata to be presented in worship on December 15th. Any vocalist is welcome to join us at anytime, and this special invitation is being extended if you would consider singing with us during Advent and Christmas. Call Nancy Sawtelle (996-5230) or speak with any choir member if you have an interest or any questions. Mission Prayer Focus: Pray for Compassionate Heart International’s global mission to Chinese and Tibetans. Pray for leaders, Sonna Schambach, Linda Faber, and Pasang Drolma who are proclaiming the gospel both near and far. Cancelled... Handbell Spaghetti Luncheon The Faithful Ringers annual spaghetti luncheon has been cancelled due to the Dixie Classic Fair. We will try to reschedule at a later date. RCC BBQ/Square Dance Fundraiser at Union Cross-5:50 until... The RCC will present their “End of the Summer Event” on Saturday, October 12. Enjoy BBQ, Hot dogs and fixing’s, Live music, Square dance, Hay ride and other exciting stuff! Children under 4-free hotdog, drink and dessert; Large BBQ Plate $8.00; Small BBQ Plate $6.00; Optional Hotdog Plate $6.00. Senior Friends Trip to Asheboro on Thursday, October 17 The Senior Friends will be traveling to Asheboro and touring the Malt-O-Meal factory, enjoying lunch and fellowship with each other. Contact Betty Robbins for details and time the bus will leave Friedland if you plan to go . Men’s Fellowship Fish Fry Saturday, October 19 The Men’s Fish Fry will be held on Saturday, October 19 from 5-7:00 pm. All you can eat. Cost: Adults $10.00, children under 12 $5.00, and children under 5 years old are free. Tickets will be available...see Kent Willard, John Rogers, Larry Fagge, Mike Messick, or Randy McMillan. Boy Scout Popcorn Tasting: Sunday, October 20 The Boy Scouts will hold their annual popcorn tasting in the fellowship hall immediately after worship Sunday, October 20. Come enjoy the popcorn and support the Boy Scouts. Blood Pressure Screening will be held on Sunday, October 27 at 9:30, 10:30 and noon.
