a letter from the editor “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” —Seneca I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, I’m Stacie Thrush, the new Communications Coordinator for the Fripp Island POA. A true coal miners daughter from a small town in the coal fields of West Virginia. I graduated college in 2001 with a degree in Communications Technology and pursued a career in graphic art, videography and radio. My career has taken me all over the state of West Virginia, Mississippi, and Tennessee. I met my husband who is from South Carolina eight years ago, and began traveling to Moncks Corner, Mount Pleasant, and the Charleston area. My first trip to Beaufort was in February of 2019 and it was love at first sight. In April of 2019, we made our dream a reality and moved to the area. I have spent the last almost two years working in marketing for a local car dealership.
I learned about this amazing opportunity in April and it was the perfect fit. The first time I came onto Fripp Island, I remember feeling such peace and belonging. It was a feeling of familiarity, warmth and friendliness. I didn’t want to leave. So when the call came, I was elated! I was fortunate to meet Erin, the former Communications Coordinator, in person and she has been amazing in helping me with the transition. I know I have some big shoes to fill and I am dedicated to being able to continue the level of professionalism that she brought to the POA. This is an incredible community and I feel very blessed to be a part of it. I look forward to meeting you all and serving you as the Fripp Island POA Communications Coordinator.
