Take Your Travel Experience Further: The Hosted Trip Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Dear Traveler, We have hosted trips to fly fishing lodges in Alaska for many years, but if you want to be where the action is there is literally no place like the Reel Action Camp on the Kanektok River. Reel Action is located in southwest Alaska, near the village of Quinhagak, in the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. Perched at the mouth of the river, Reel Action gets all the salmon runs first as the fish enter the river from the Bering Sea. It’s a wild, magical place, host to all five Pacific salmon species along with rainbow trout, dolly varden, grayling and char.
What to Expect
• Reel Action Alaska operates as a full service tent lodge that has been designed to provide our guests with all the comforts needed for living in the bush including luxuries like single accommodation weatherport heated tents.
Permanent structures are impossible here, so Reel Action is a deluxe tent camp with spacious heated, waterproof wall tents, complete with drying room, dining room and fly tying tent. Hot showers and excellent accommodations make it easy to be comfortable while enjoying some of the best fishing imaginable. These guys know how to spoil guests while tent camping!
• The Kanektok. its tributaries and braids give anglers access to countless miles of tremendous river for all Pacific salmon species, trophy-sized native rainbow trout, arctic char, grayling and dolly varden
We love silver salmon and so our trips to Reel Action are planned for the amazing silver salmon fishing in August, but there will be lots of other fishing too. Rainbows, dolly varden, char, fresh chums, perhaps pinks and other salmon are all feasible options during this time. With lots of fishing at your doorstep before and after the guided fishing day, you can fish ‘till your heart’s content.
• Located in southwestern Alaska near the native village of Quinhagak, the camp is perfectly situated within the Togiak National Wildlife Refuge. It encompasses over four million acres and is home to some of the most prolific salmon runs in the world hosting a wide variety of fish, bird and mammal species.
If you want to experience wild Alaska and have some of your best fishing ever, join us in August for the silver run. You’ll be glad you did!
