Take Your Travel Experience Further: The Hosted Trip Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Dear Traveler, Butch and Sundance just can’t be wrong. It is rumored that in 1900 Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid holed up in Argentina near Estancia Tecka. If you venture there today you will find that much of what their wandering eyes saw is relatively undisturbed today. In the outermost remote reaches of Northern Patagonia one can experience just how far away from civilization they are by merely walking into the Estancia yard and gazing at the sky. Unfettered by manmade lights and magnified by the clear cool air of the Andes, the constellations seem an arm’s length away and the next person a million miles away. This is the blessing of Patagonia. In today’s trout fishing world where one may find 30 to 50 drift boats on a river at any given time, it is unheard of to have just 18 guests of a ranch experiencing 45 miles of river on 15 unique drifts all to themselves. However the Rio Corcovado coursing through the Estancia Tecka is just that, the lifeblood of the working sheep ranch and an angler’s paradise with ample hatches and the buzz of thousands of grasshoppers in the riverside grass. Trout are uneducated, hearty and looking up for their next meal. Not sold yet? Walk out the lodge’s back door to the meandering Tecka Spring Creek which offers water and biomass diversity to suit any dry fly aficionado’s most vivid imagination. Stalk chunky rainbows and browns on the willow lined freestone like glides to wandering meadow braids narrow enough to jump across. Barry and Cathy’s departure to Tecka will be a six night stay on the estancia at the Headquarters Lodge. This Lodge is located near the Rio Tecka which offers miles of productive walk and wade fishing. The dates correspond with their departure to Estancia Laguna Verde in southern Patagonia. One or both Estancia Laguna Verde and Estancia Tecka offer big trout under a big sky and the close attention of Barry and Cathy, a trout trip for the ages. Sincerely,
Hank Ingram Jr. South America Department Manager
What to Expect • Fishing with floating lines and dry flies is the standard at Tecka. Anglers will encounter two major and unique rivers during their stay – and many tributaries and creeks - drifting the larger Corcovado River and walking-andwade stalking the ranches namesake , the Tecka River. • Tecka offers two distinctive accommodations, the Headquarters Lodge a few steps away from the Tecka River and the more remote Caridad Lodge which is central to the broad Corcovado River. • Combining miles of diverse private trout-filled water encompassed privately in a 435,000 acre working Argentine Estancia in the majestically secluded Esquel region of Patagonia. Argentine wines and asados.
About the Lodge
Estancia Tecka: is a rare find; it’s one of the few places in the world where an angler can fish all day and never see another soul. This 435,000-acre ranch has such a vast holding of private water it would take years to fish it all. From 2 lodges, fishermen access the Rio Corcovado, Rio Tecka, and a handful of spring creeks. All offer a perfect blend of walk-nwade and drifting opportunities. Tecka’s reputation for excellent attention to detail, food and fishing has earned the Estancia a loyal clientele.
