Red Stag Hunting and Dove Shooting at Rincon de Luna and Cordoba Lodge in Argentina

Argentina
Take Your Travel Experience Further: The Hosted Trip Difference Unparalleled Service and Knowledge Every Step of the Way Dear Traveler, I’m pleased to share with you this exceptional gem in the big game hunting world we discovered several years ago through some mutual friends. For years, Frontiers mainstay was dove shooting in this province and the big game options in this area were relatively unknown. Then we met the Speranza family and arranged to send our first exploratory guests to hunt the Ranch. It did not disappoint by any means – as a matter of fact it was a remarkable hunt. Since then, we’ve satisfied plenty of big game ambitions for hunters at this celebrated Ranch. This is a typical spot and stalk hunt and you’ll have daily sightings of multiple red deer hinds and stags. This is a prime rut date and the booming roars of belligerent and big bodied stag will echo through the valley. Coming off the heels of a wildly successful 2016 hosted trip, we are reloading again for 2019. We’ll add a day of dove shooting on the end of our trip at the stylish Cordoba Lodge just a short distance away. Our last trip resulted in four awesome Red Deer trophies with a rifle and one trophy with a bow along with a couple of blackbuck antelopes and multi horn sheep. Our stag hunt encompasses four full days of hunting on a 2X1 basis. We’ll depart the Ranch on April 11 and shoot doves that afternoon, overnighting at Cordoba Lodge, then shoot the morning of April 12 and depart the afternoon homeward. You can stay for all this or continue on another adventure after our stag hunt. There is also good trout fishing on the ranch if guests should tag out early. I’ll be bringing my fly rod for sure! Once you get closer to the Ranch entrance, you’ll get a better idea of the isolated location of the Ranch. We switch over from club vans to four-wheel drive trucks and the last hour is in four-wheel drive low to access the Lodge. You start to get a sense of what you’re in for as you serpentine through massive boulder fields. Free of manmade light and magnified by the clear cool air of the Calamuchita Valley, the stars are brighter and seemingly close enough to touch and the next civilization is a million miles away. What a perfect place for a soul cleansing escape from life while enjoying world class hunting. Sincerely,
Tom Gilliland South America Program Manager

Experience firsthand the cultural aspects of Argentina that make it such a warm and welcoming country.
About the Ranch
The Speranza family, owners of the Rincon de Luna Ranch about 90 miles from Cordoba city, operates a fair chase ranch in the rugged hills of the Calamuchita valley at an elevation of nearly 5,000 feet. The hunting area consists of roughly 7,500 acres of rocky terrain covered in wire tough pampas grasses with ravines, house sized boulders, ledges, and passes worthy of providing great hides for red deer. The topography is unique and unquestionably rugged so we typically hunt on horseback although you may hunt via 4x4 if desired. The property also offers a handful of exotics like Blackbuck antelope, multihorn sheep, and water buffalo just to name a few.
Tom joined Frontiers in 2006 and has hosted trips from Alaska to South America over those various years. With more than 40 years of hunting experiences, Tom skillfully coordinates big game and wingshooting adventures to South America, where he has traveled extensively and knows the intimate details to ensure you are well prepared for the hunt and conditions. It’s safe to say there’s not a day that goes by that he doesn’t do something related to hunting or fishing. As a passionate bowhunter and former Alaskan hunting guide, his pursuits have taken him across the U.S. and abroad exploring new and remarkable hunting locations.
