A N o t e from Your Host s Dear Friends, Of all the destinations we have visited around the world over the last 12 years, Turneffe Flats Lodge (TFL) stands out as one of our favorites. TFL offers not only great flats fishing for all the species, as well as non-angling activities, but does so from a beautiful location on a remote atoll with superb, comfortable accommodations. While bonefish and permit are the classic targets at TFL, we have worked closely with the lodge and Frontiers Travel to reserve space this time of year for the added opportunity to sight-fish large, migratory tarpon. With expansive flats for wading or fishing from custom 16foot Dolphin Superskiffs, there really is something for all anglers, from beginners to experts. Non-anglers can enjoy snorkeling, diving, kayaking, or reading and relaxing at the infinity pool and lounging deck. Or perhaps they can take a Belizean cooking class with one of the cooks in the kitchen, do an introduction to diving course, or enjoy listening to Head Atoll Adventure Guide, Abel Coe, a Kekchi Mayan, explain the history of the Mayan in Belize. On Wednesdays, guests can arrange to visit a Mayan site or the Belize Zoo. This location at this time of year is perfect for ambitious anglers, those looking to relax, and even folks that desire a bit of both. Sunday, May 31 - Friday, June 5 Enjoy six full days of guided fishing. Breakfast is between 7:00 – 8:00 a.m. Enjoy a morning of guided fishing and return to Lodge for a home cooked lunch between 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Head out for an afternoon of guided fishing on comfortable 16 ft. dolphin skiffs. Bonefish, permit and tarpon are the mainstay of the fishing at Turneffe Flats. Return back to the Lodge in plenty of time for a swim in the pool, nap, and to freshen up for cocktails at 6:15 p.m. and dinner served at 7:00 p.m.
