The River The Ponoi What other Atlantic salmon river in the world can boast a per-rod, perweek average of 30 or more fish across an 18-week season over more than 20 years? Generally the spring season averages 30 to 40+ fish per rod, the summer 20 to 30 fish and the autumn 20 to 35 fish per rod. For guests to catch over 100 fish in a week is not uncommon. If you want to be certain of catching a salmon, Ponoi is undoubtedly the most reliable option, even in the worst conditions. It is these simple facts that make Ryabaga Camp on the Ponoi ‘Incomparable’. Spring Fishing Extraordinary numbers of salmon willing to aggressively take wet and skated flies, with the bonus of fishing under the midnight sun. Summer Fishing Superb value, almost exclusively floating line, technical salmon fishing with wet and skated flies, the bonus of the summer run and the midnight sun. Autumn Fishing Marvel at the power of the revered autumn-run Ponoi salmon while enjoying the autumn colors and northern lights on a frosty evening. www.frontierstravel.com | info@frontierstravel.com | 800-245-1950

The Camp • Each guest enjoys their own comfortable, warm, single wooden cabin with queen-sized bed and en-suite bathroom with 24hr hot water and electricity. • The main social hub of the camp is the ‘Big Tent’ which has two burning stoves, a fully-stocked bar and tables to seat all guests and camp staff which makes the camp uniquely sociable. • Adjacent to the ‘Big Tent’ is the camp tackle shop with all necessary equipment to buy or borrow.
• There is a gym, a camp surgery (with camp medic) and a massage service. • The cuisine has always been a hallmark of the camp and is consistently admired given its location in the tundra. It produces fresh pastries each morning, superb river lunches and western dinner menus with the occasional Russian touch. • What makes Ryabaga Camp special is the attention to detail and the attitude of the team in camp. Every detail has been thought of and nothing is too much trouble for anyone.

Useful information Getting There • There are daily flights from New York (JFK) to Helsinki Airport. There are also daily flights from Chicago to London with Helsinki connections. • From Helsinki you will board the charter flight to Murmansk. The charter flight departs first thing in the morning so you are required to be in Helsinki the night before. • From Murmansk you will continue your journey in a Russian MI-8 helicopter. The flight takes approximately two hours. • Those flying back to the US usually have to spend the night in Helsinki on the return, but some connections can get you back to Chicago in the same day. We recommend that anyone flying out from Helsinki on the same day does not book a flight departing before 4:00 PM. Passports & Visas • A visa is required. The requirements vary from country to country. In the US, we are required to apply for a visa 45 days prior to departure. Plan to give up your passport for visa processing for a period for 2-4 weeks. Please ask the Frontiers US office for more details. Vaccinations • No vaccinations necessary. www.frontierstravel.com | info@frontierstravel.com | 800-245-1950

For those that do not want to travel with a computer there is also a camp computer available for guests from which they can surf the net. Electricity • 220-240v. Mains power supply. European plugs. What to Take (full pre-trip will be available) • Eye Mask (it does not get dark in the summer months) • Flies and about 15lbs leader material • Double-handed rod 13 to 15 ft • Waders and wading jacket • Wading boots • Wading stick if you plan to wade • Camera Travel Insurance • We suggest that all guests have suitable travel insurance to cover the cost of their trip. • We strongly advise you to have medivac cover just in-case of unforeseen accidents
