First Year Abroad For over 15 years, FSU has offered new Seminoles the transformative opportunity to study abroad for their first year as part of the renowned First Year Abroad (FYA) program.

Diverse and culturally rich cities will become the classroom as students earn up to 34 credit hours at one of FSU’s four study abroad centers.

The FYA program provides an opportunity to earn an outof-state tuition waiver (non-FL residents) or up to $1,000 in scholarships (FL residents).

Florida residents can earn a $1,000 FYA scholarship! Florida residents who maintain an FYA GPA of 3.0 or higher will earn a $1,000 scholarship to be applied toward FYA program fees for the spring semester.

Review your passport validity or apply for a passport early, and read the Visa & Immigration information on the IP Website & Student Portal. Reserve your spot at FSU and on the FYA program by paying the FYA Commitment Fee by the deadline.
