As our season has reached its half way point, enjoy our second half as the time is flying by and before you know it you will be asking yourself; what happened to all the races and we're getting ready for the banquet already. Once again, Thank You to all the clubs and volunteers who put in countless hours to bring you a quality weekend of camping, fellowship and some racing as a bonus. Thanks for listening Randy Faul

CHAPLAIN’s CORNER Words: Jim Edleston
Starting Line to Checkered Flag… “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 God is good all the time… Over the holidays Betty purchased (from Buck-ee’s of course) a backdoor sign. It simply but powerfully states, “God is good all the time”. I have prayed and pondered over this. Here are some examples. In Genesis 2, God had already created the heavens, the earth, the universe by simply speaking all into existence. But He loves us so much and we are so special to him, He used his loving hands to gently craft us; “God formed Man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive-a living soul!” (Gen 2:7) He saw that the man he created was lonely and needed a sweet compan-

ion so He created Eve. Gen 2:18, God said, “It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion.”
why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and everlasting life. John 3:16.”
As we watch the world go by or see the 6:00 news, it is sadly obvious that Man fell away from His loving God. The good news is He never gave up on us. Time after time, He showed His love by covering, protecting and creating a way for those who know Him. Exodus 14:21-22, “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and God, with a terrific east wind all night long, made the sea go back. He made the sea dry ground. The seawaters split. The Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground with the waters a wall to the right and to the left.” Again and again, God showed his love for us and yet, as the messed up people we are, it was never enough to turn us back to Him. Our sin, our rebellion, our selfishness was a barrier we could not cross.
And to prove we that believe in Him will be with Him forever, on the third day Jesus was raised from the dead; Luke 24:5-7, “Why do you look for the living One among those who are dead? He is not here. He is risen. Do you not remember what He said to you when He was yet in Galilee? 7 He said, ‘The Son of Man must be given over into the hands of sinful men. He must be nailed to a cross. He will rise again three days later.’’
God had a perfect plan. He loves us so much, He created and sacrificed His Son, His one and only Son, to pay the price for our sins, literally dying on a cross, so we would never have to. “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is
FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS™
God’s perfect plan to restore us to Him forever. Acts 16:31 states, “Put your entire trust in the Master Jesus. Then you’ll live as you were meant to live.” It is my prayer for my FTR family that all of you find that personal relationship with Jesus this year. When you do, you will clearly understand “…and all the time, God is good”. Blessings on and off the road, Jim and Betty Edleston CMA

ARMADILLO ENDURO REPORT Words: Kurt Lucas
I was pumped to hear of a new enduro on the schedule, new property is always a good thing! Big Scrub Trail Riders always puts on a quality enduro. Whether it was Lochloosa or the infamous Blueberry Farm you knew you were always in for a well put-on event. This year the club found some land up in Lake Butler, FL, between Gainesville and Lake City. Unfortunately, mother nature was not so kind to us as the property had some

rain leading up to the event. I think the trail would have held up okay but unfortunately it rained a ton during the race flooding some parts of the track and making it very difficult for riders to circulate. Still, even with all that rain the trail was still very fun in a lot of sections. The course featured some very flowy pine sections that were a blast to ride. The dirt was not your typical Florida sugar sand,

instead the dirt was darker and more firm which provided ultimate traction even in the moist conditions. Luckily for us it looks like this property will be hosting a hare scramble at the end of the year and we can only hope for drier conditions. Must give a huge kudos to the club for all the reroutes, pulling people out of the mud and hard work throughout the day. Thank you!

MotoPT: IMPROVE YOUR MOVE Words: Matt Daugherty
Unknot Yourself: How to Stretch Your Pec Minor and Hamstrings to Improve Riding Posture
Hello FTR Family, At this point I am sure you are tired of hearing me lament about the importance of adequate muscle/ tendon length and joint mobility. I promise I will leave the topic for a bit after this month’s discussion. We all know the importance of stretching our major muscle groups. Quads, calves, biceps, triceps – these guys get all the love when it comes to pre-workout prep and post-workout recovery. But what about the often-overlooked heroes, the pectoralis minor and the hamstrings? These smaller, yet crucial muscles deserve some stretch time too as they can directly impair your riding form! Pectoralis Minor: The Posture Powerhouse Nestled deep beneath your pec major, the pectoralis minor plays a vital role in shoulder stability and posture. It runs from the front of your shoulder blade and attaches to ribs 3-5. Unfortunately, it's also prone to tightness, especially for desk warriors and athletes who rely heavily on their pecs. Tight pec
Established 1971
minor muscles can pull your shoulders forward, leading to rounded shoulders, poor posture, and even neck pain. Why Stretch Your Pectoralis Minor? Improve posture: Say goodbye to slouching and hello to a confident, upright stance! Stretching your pec minor helps pull your shoulders back and open up your chest, giving you a more balanced and aligned posture. Prevent shoulder pain: Tight pec minor muscles can contribute to shoulder impingement, rotator cuff issues, and other painful conditions. Regular stretching helps keep these muscles loose and flexible, reducing your risk of injury. Enhance athletic performance: Improved shoulder mobility and stability translate to better performance in activities like throwing, swimming, and weightlifting, and hanging onto the bike or quad. Hamstrings: The Kings of Flexibility
FLORIDA TRAIL RIDERS™
The hamstrings run down the back of your thigh, connecting your knees to your pelvis. They're responsible for bending your knee and extending your hip, making them crucial for riding. Tight hamstrings can limit your range of motion while in a standing riding position, leading to lower back pain, knee pain, and even increased risk of injury. If you notice the standing attack posture of professional racers their butt is pushed back and their pelvis is neutral to anteriorly tilted, you need adequate hamstring length to assume this correct posture. Why Stretch Your Hamstrings? Increase flexibility: Loosening up your hamstrings allows for greater range of motion in your knees and hips, improving your overall flexibility and athletic performance. Reduce pain: Stretching regularly can help alleviate existing pain in your lower back, knees, and legs. Prevent injuries: Flexible hamstrings are less prone to tears and strains, keeping you active and
injury-free. Stretch Your Way to Success Now that you know why stretching your pectoralis minor and hamstrings is so important, let's get down to business! Here are some simple stretches you can incorporate into your routine: Pectoralis Minor Stretch: Stand in a doorway with your hands shoulder-height on either side of the frame. Take a small towel and fold it until it is a narrow strap of about 2 inches in width. Put the towel over the front of your shoulder like a back pack strap. Lean forward until you feel a gentle stretch, deeply in your chest. Hold for 2 minutes, taking up the slack as your body relaxes. Bonus Tip: Before you stretch if you roll out this area of your pec minor with a tennis ball for 1 minute the stretch will feel better. Hamstring Stretch: Sit on the floor with your legs extended in front of you. Keep your back perfectly straight with good upright posture. Lean forward from your hips, reaching towards your toes (or as far as you can comfortably go).
Hold for 2 minutes, taking up the slack as your body relaxes. Bonus Tip: Breathe deeply and slowly throughout each stretch. Don't bounce! Hold each stretch for a sustained period for maximum benefit. Listen to your body and stop if you feel any pain.
Associate Professor Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist Fellow, American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists Manual Therapy Certified Dry Needling Certified
Remember, consistency is key! Just a few minutes of stretching each day can make a big difference in your long-term health and well-being. So, put on your stretchy pants, roll out your mat, and get ready to unlock your full potential! If you have any questions or comments, please email me at contact@motopt. com, or call/text 904-395-5379. Let's IMPROVE YOUR MOVE so you can ride painfree with MotoPT. I will see you at the races!
