15 Hour punch card $77 All tubing passes and punch cards expire March 31, 2013. There will be no refunds for unused passes or punch cards*. The Tube Hill closes at -20 degrees for your safety.

The Tube Hill is open Saturdays and Sundays 1300-1900 and (special days for winter break) December 26, 28, January 2, 4. No experience is necessary simply hop in your tube, push off,and enjoy the ride down one of our 800 foot long runs. A tube lift makes the ride back to the top easy. There are risks associated with this activity including, but not limited to: speed; changing weather; terrain; surface and sub-service conditions; collisions with other tubers, natural and man-made objects; and lack of directional and speed control. By purchasing a tubing ticket you assume the risk of all injuries!* Minimum age requirement is 5 years old and height requirement is at least 40 inches tall. Five and six years old must be accompanied by an adult in a separate tube. Remember, this is a Snow Tube Park and when closed may not be used as a sledding hill!

12/1, 1/18, 0700-1800 Cost: $25/person Experience Alaska in a whole new way; ice climb with us on frozen waterfalls! No experience needed, our guides will have you swinging ice tools and kicking crampons right up these frozen pillars in no time! We provide all equipment. You just need to bring food, water and warm clothes!

SNOWMACHINE THE WHITE MOUNTAINS

12/1, 1/5, 0800-1700 $75/person Take a snow machine run to the White Mountains National Recreation Area. Trip departs from the ORC at 8:30 am. We will provide transportation, snow machines and helmets. Be sure to bring your camera, warm coat, gloves, boots, daypack with bungee cord, lunch, snacks and drinks.

LUNCH SKI AND SOUP

12/6, 1/10, 1200-1300 Cost: $5/person Take advantage of the fleeting daylight by joining us at lunch for a ski around our Glass Park Trails. Skis, boots, poles and hot soup for lunch are provided. We will also have staff on hand if you need a quick ski lesson!

12/8, 1/12 0900 and 1300 No cost. For ages 18+ Participants will be issued a Snow Machine Safety Card at the conclusion of the course. This class is required to rent snow machines from the Outdoor Recreation Center.

WITW SNOWSHOE AND SOAK

12/8, 0900-1700 $20/person Must be 18+ to enter the rock pool for this trip. In our first Women in the Wilderness trip of the season, we’ll be strapping on the snowshoes and venturing out into the Chena State Recreation Area. After our snowshoe hike, we’ll head to the Chena Hot Springs Resort where we’ll be able to soak in the outdoor rock pool. We provide transportation, snowshoe equipment and instruction. Remember warm clothes, lunch, water, swimwear and a towel for the hot spring!

STILES CREEK SNOWMACHINE TRIP

12/15, 0800-1700 Cost: $75/person We will provide transportation, snowmachine and helmet. Bring your lunch, snacks, drinks and cold weather clothing. If the temperature drops below -10 degrees we will try to postpone to a warmer date.

CHENA RIVER SKI

12/15, 1000-1700 Cost: $10/person Come out and enjoy a day skiing on the river with our staff. All cross country ski equipment is provided and we can even give you a lesson to get you started. Bring warm clothes, water and lunch in a small backpack.

FAMILY ½ DAY SNOWSHOE

12/16, 1300-1500 Cost: $5/person Beat the winter blues by bringing the family out for an afternoon of snowshoeing. We provide all equipment, you just need to bring your warm clothes and water!

12/19, 1300-1600 Cost: $5/person Come along and ski some of the best XC trails around at Birch Hill. We provide and equipment and instruction if you need it. Bring along warm clothes and some water!


FULL MOON SKI

FORT WAINWRIGHT SNOWMACHINE RUN

12/19, 20, 26, 27 1300-1500 Drivers must be 18+ Cost: $25/operator. No cost for passengers (must be age 8+). Our staff will take the lead as you experience your backyard in a new way! Be sure to bring your camera, warm coat, gloves, boots, daypack with bungee cord, snacks and drinks. We will provide Snow machine and helmets.

INTERIOR ALASKA ICE FISHING

12/22, 0800-1700 Cost: $45/person. An Alaska State Fishing License is required! If you are new to ice fishing then here is your chance to see how it’s done. We will provide transportation, rod & reel, bait, ice fishing hut with wood stove and the know-how to get you started. If the temps drop to -20 degrees or lower we will attempt to postpone to a warmer day.

EXPLORE THE LOCAL SKI TRAILS 12/12, 1/12, 1100-1500 Cost: $5/person. Glide along with us and check out trails you may not have known about. We provide all the ski equipment you need as well instruction if you’ve never skied before. Warm clothes and water are a must for this fun day on skis!

12/28, 1800-2100 Cost: $10/person. Get out for an enjoyable evening under the full moon as we ski around the Fairbanks Area. Bring warm clothes, head lamp and water. We provide all ski equipment and instruction for this trip.

WICKERSHAM DOME SNOWSHOE

12/29, 0900-1600 Cost: $10/person. Head north of Fairbanks and snowshoe Wickersham Dome with Outdoor Rec. No experience necessary. We provide snowshoes and instruction. All you need to bring is water, lunch and warm clothes.

COMPEAU’S TRAIL SNOW MACHINE TRIP

12/29, 0800-1700 Cost: $75/person. The staff at the Outdoor Recreation Center will be making a snow machine run on the Compeau’s Trail in the Chena River State Recreation Area. The trail begins down in the river valley and eventually winds its way to the ridge tops. We will provide transportation, snow machine and helmet. You bring your lunch, snacks, drinks, boots, gloves and cold weather clothing. If the temperature drops below -10 degrees we will try to postpone to a warmer date.

WITW - THE WHITE MOUNTAINS XC DAY SKI

1/19, 0900-1600 Cost: $10/person. There simply is no better way to explore the winter landscape of interior Alaska than by cross country ski. We will head out to some fantastic trails to explore and enjoy the brief winter sunlight. Never skied before? No problem! Our staff will have you gliding along in no time. Ski equipment is provided, you simply bring warm clothes, water and lunch.

FAMILY ½ DAY SKI 1/20, 1300-1500 Cost: $5/person. Get the family out for a fun afternoon trying out cross country skiing in Glass Park. No experience necessary. Bring warm clothes and water, we provide the skis and snow!

ANGEL CREEK OVERNIGHT

1/19-20, 0800-1700 Cost: $160/person On this trip we will snow machine the trails off Chena Hot Springs Road by day, at night you can relax at the lodge or take a warm soak at the Hot Springs. We provide transportation, snowmachines, helmets, lodging and meals. You bring warm clothing, boots, gloves and a towel if you plan to take a warm soak. Reservations must be made by January 4th!

1/26, 0800-1700 Cost: $75/person. A Women in the Wilderness snowmachine run to the White Mountains National Recreation Area. Meet our staff at 8 am. at the ORC. Trip departs at 8:30 am. We will provide transportation, snowmachines and helmets. Be sure to bring your camera, warm coat, gloves, boots, daypack with bungee cord, lunch, snacks and drinks.

ALYESKA SKI/ SNOWBOARD ADVENTURE

1/25-27, departs at 5 p.m. Cost: $200/person. Alyeska is a world class ski/snowboard destination that has an average of almost 650” of snow a year! We will drive down on Friday evening and ride powder all day Saturday. On Sunday we will return to Ft. Wainwright. We provide transportation, lodging and a lift ticket. You provide your own food, ski/snowboard gear (bring your own or rent), and warm clothes.

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING LESSONS Please call to arrange lessons with the instructor at 361-2652. Age: 10+ Cost: $5/person Lessons are offered all winter long starting in November and equipment is provided. Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. If the temperatures hits below -10°F, lessons will be postponed to a warmer date.

Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) respite care is a program that provides a temporary rest period for Family members responsible for regular care of persons with disabilities. Eligibility is based on EFMP enrollment and EFM’s medical or educational condition. For info, call 353-4243.

December 20, 1700-1900 It’s that time of year again when visions of candy canes and sugar plums dance in our heads! That can only mean one thing; it’s time to build Gingerbread houses for all of Fort Wainwright to see. Come by the LFCAC to put a Gingerbread house together with our staff. A display case will also be made available if you would like to share your creation with the community. A limited number of kits and decorating supplies will be available free of charge so sign up early. This will be a fun family affair and we hope to see you here!
