A message from the Director I don't know about you, but all this sun light is helping me be ready for all that Alaska has to offer. Throughout our many locations for USAG Alaska, we have something for everyone...here are some of my faves: Check out Chena Bend Golf Clubhouse! I mean it; fun for everyone. I took my family last summer (I wouldn't consider myself a golfer) and we went to the driving range for a couple of hours. My kids (6 and 9 at the time) LOVED it, and were hitting the ball farther than me. This year you can plan your golf experience around lunch or dinner and take advantage of our great food and beverage options at the same place. Have you made your reservations to visit Seward yet? If not...CALL NOW (1-800-770-1858). They are filling up for their summertime reservations, so don't miss out. Also, check out our Military Appreciation Sales on April 11th and 25th for military discounts on some of the most popular Seward Resort wildlife and glacier tours.
Stay up to date with WainwrightMWR Like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram and Twitter with “@ WainwrightMWR” to learn about upcoming events, food and drink specials, and other activities offered throughout Fort Wainwright. Rock Climbing! Float Trips! Mini Adventure Camps... these are just some of the Youth Sports camps coming up) this season. If you have children or may know someone visiting during the summer, we have a lot of youth camp options through our Youth Sports and Fitness as well as our School Age Program.
#WainwrightBOSS
We will soon have almost 24 hours of daylight, so pack it in, try something new, and explore this great state! You may only get to be here once (or maybe it will become your home state) but make the most of your time this summer through our programs at USAG Alaska!

Start with Auto 101. During Auto 101, the staff at the Automotive Skills Center will orientate you to the space, tools, and appropriate techniques needed to get the job done correctly.
VEHICLE WINTERIZATION Don't wait to get your vehicle winterized! Once the cold starts to creep in, the lines will be long and you'll be chilled tothe bone.
One of the most important winterization steps, according to Fort Wainwright's Automotive Skills Center, is keeping the engine's various lubricants from freezing by attaching heating pads and block heaters.
SERVICES
Living here in the Interior, trusting a vehicle to function during winter as it did in the summer is not an option. Cold, the 50 below kind of cold we will undoubtedly experience, takes its toll on all parts of a vehicle, especially when it's used on a daily basis.
The Fort Wainwright Automotive Skills Center is an excellent source of information and help for winterizing vehicles. Experienced mechanics are on hand with advice for those doing self-help winterization projects, or are available to work on your vehicle for you.
