Arrange with instructor. call 361-2652. Age: 10 and older. Fee: $5 per person Sessions run between 45 minutes and an hour. Equipment is provided. Lessons will be postponed if the temperatures falls below -10°F.
WOMEN IN THE WILDERNESS: ICE FISHING
February 4, 8 a.m. Fee: $25/person. An Alaska state fishing license is required for this trip. If you are new to ice fishing, then here is your chance to see how it’s done. ORC will provide transportation, rod and reel, bait, ice fishing hut with wood stove, and the know-how to get you started. The trip will be postponed if the temp drops below -20 degrees.
ALYESKA SKI/SNOWBOARD ADVENTURE February 10 – 12, 5 p.m. departure. Fee: $175 per person
Venture for the weekend at Alyeska Resort. ORC provides transportation, lodging and a lift ticket. Participants will need to provide their own food, ski/snowboard gear (bring your own or rent), and warm clothes.
SNOW MACHINE SAFETY COURSE February 11, 9 a.m. Age: 18+, no cost
This class is required to rent snowmachines from the ORC.
MACLAREN RIVER LODGE
February 17 – 19 (Must register by Feb. 3). Departs at 8 a.m. Fee: $300 per person Take a snow machine trip out to Maclaren lodge. This is the perfect getaway and a true Alaskan experience. This program is weather dependent subject to blizzards, white-out conditions and extreme temperatures. Participants need warm boots, cold weather clothing, hand/foot warmers, and a good pair of gloves.
CROSS COUNTRY SKI & SOAK
February 25, 9 a.m. Cost is $15/person. Must be at least 18+ to enter the rock pool. After skiing, relax in the outdoor rock pool at Chena Hot Springs! Transportation, ski equipment, and instruction is provided. No experience necessary. Bring warm clothes, lunch, water, swimwear and a towel for the hot springs!

Yukon Quest with the ORC February 4 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This year, the Yukon Quest starts in Fairbanks and the course goes right next to the Outdoor Recreation Center.
