El Cabildo realiza estudios arqueológicos en seis yacimientos de la isla FMHOY - Fuerteventura El Cabildo de Fuerteventura, a través de la Consejería de Cultura y Patrimonio Histórico y la Dirección General de Patrimonio Cultural del Gobierno de Canarias colaboran en el desarrollo de un plan de trabajo destinado a inventariar y estudiar seis posibles yacimientos arqueológicos distribuidos por Fuerteventura. Las investigaciones comenzaron a realizarse hace ya varios meses y se prolongarán durante varios meses más. Dependiendo de los resultados que se vayan encontrando se plantearán estudios más detallados. En el término municipal de Betancuria existían referencias puntuales sobe estos posibles yacimientos y estaban recogidos en la carta arqueológica, pero faltaba saber si realmente se confirmaba su potencial arqueológico. Con estos estudios se tiene ya información más certera de su existencia. Los sondeos realizados hasta el momento ser centran en estructuras asociadas a gambuesas, corrales y viviendas, localizando importante material cerámico y lítico, que tendrá que ser estudiado a partir de ahora. También se analizan detalladamente las estructuras de las viviendas y gambuesas, sobre todo de cara a poder establecer la relación con distintos usos o reutilización a lo largo de los siglos. Las primeras interpretaciones sobre los yacimientos estudiados en Betancuria relacionan las estructuras con usos de la época aborigen, incluso con probable relación directa con el momento del primer poblamiento

The Cabildo carries out archaeology studies in six site on the island Fuerteventura’s Cabildo, through the Culture and Historical Heritage Council and the Canarian Government have collaborated for the development of a project to carry out the inventory and study six potential archaeology sites in Fuerteventura. Studies started various months ago and will continue for various months. Depending on the results more detailed surveys may be carried out in the future. There are various existing references in Betancuria of potential sites that were included on the archaeology map, but their archaeological potential had to be confirmed. Those studies have given accurate information as to their existence. Searches have predominantly been concentrating on «gambuesas» (goat pens), corrals, and houses and have brought important discoveries of objects made of ceramic and stone that will now start being studied further. Furthermore house structures are being studied in detail as well as the «gambuesas» especially regarding what could establish the connection with various uses or re-uses along the centuries. The first interpretations regarding studied sites in Betancuria show that structures used during aboriginal era were directly related with the first European populating movement and re-used during posterior eras associated with livestock farming development. Studies will continue during the next few months in various potential sites in the municipalities of Betancuria, Tuineje and Puerto del Rosario, that were chosen according to technical data that indicated potential interest or the risk of deterioration due to erosion.

Der Cabildo führt archäologische Untersuchungen in sechs Fundstätten der Insel durch Das Amt für Kultur und historisches Erbe des Cabildo von Fuerteventura und die Generalverwaltung für kulturelles Erbe der Regierung der Kanaren entwickeln gemeinsam einen Arbeitsplan, um sechs mögliche archäologische Fundstätten auf Fuerteventura in den Bestand aufzunehmen und zu untersuchen. Die Untersuchungen begannen schon vor einigen Monaten und werden noch einige Monate dauern. Aufgrund der Ergebnisse werden genauere Untersuchungen ins Auge gefasst werden. In der Gemeinde von Betancuria gab es Hinweise über diese möglichen Fundstätten, welche auf der archäologischen Karte aufgeführt wurden, aber deren archäologisches Potential musste noch bestätigt werden. Aufgrund dieser Untersuchungen wird man sicherere Informationen über deren Existenz erhalten. Die bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt durchgeführten Sondierungen konzentrierten sich auf die Strukturen der Gambuesas, Höfe und Häuser, wobei bedeutendes Material aus Ton und Stein gefunden wurde, das jetzt

untersucht werden muss. Auch die Strukturen der Häuser und Gambuesas werden genau untersucht, um eine Beziehungen zwischen den verschiedenen Nutzungen und Wiederverwendung im Lauf der Jahrhunderte festzustellen. Die ersten Interpretationen der untersuchten Fundstellen in Betancuria brachten diese Strukturen mit Bräuchen der Epoche der Ureinwohner in Zusammenhang und sahen sogar eine direkte Beziehung zum Zeitpunkt der ersten europäischen Besiedlung. Außerdem wurde deren Wiederverwendung für die Viehzucht in späteren Epochen untersucht. Die Arbeiten werden sich in den folgenden Monaten auf verschiedene potentielle Fundstätten in den Gemeinden von Betancuria, Tuineje und Puerto del Rosario ausdehnen, welche aufgrund von technischen Berichten ausgewählt wurden, aus denen hervorgeht, dass sie potentiell interessant sind oder das Risiko tragen, aufgrund von Erosionsvorgängen Schaden zu erleiden.

Puerto del Rosario presenta la guía ‘Puerto en Coche’ ACFIPRESS - Fuerteventura La Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario presentó recientemente, la guía ‘Puerto en Coche’. El alcalde de la capital, Marcial Morales, destacó en su intervención, «la apuesta del municipio por una oferta turística de calidad, no sólo en el trato directo con el turista, del que la Oficina de Turismo es prueba de ello, sino en todas aquellas iniciativas que ponemos en marcha, como en este caso la guía ‘Puerto en Coche’, eso, y la atención personalizada al visitante que es casi una seña de identidad de este departamento». Esta nueva publicación de la Concejalía pretende invitar al turista a un recorrido por los pueblos del interior del municipio, descubriendo sus valores culturales, paisajes, rincones gastronómicos, puntos de venta de productos artesanos etc. El acto también sirvió para presentar una segunda publicación, en este caso un Guía de Transportes, donde figuran los servicios de guagua urbana e interurbana y taxis, así como las tarifas de este tipo de transporte individual o colectivo para orientar al usuario sobre el precio de los distintos recorridos que elija. Puerto del Rosario presents the «Puerto by car» guide Puerto del Rosario’s Ayuntamiento’s Tourism Council recently presented their «Puerto by car» guide. The capital’s mayor, Marical Morales, explained «the municipality’s investment in a quality tourism offer, not only when treating direct with tourists, which is the Tourism Office’s role but also with all kinds of initiatives such as the «Puerto by car» guide, and also the personal attention to each visitor which is one of the most representative features of this department». This new guide aims to get tourists to visit villages inside the municipality, discovering their cultural heritage, landscapes, gastronomical venues, arts and crafts shops, etc.

The event was also an opportunity to present a second publication, a Transport Guide, detailing the urban and interurban bus timetables and taxi services as well as prices for individual or collective transport in order to give users a guide on prices according to their destination. El Time, Tetir, La Matilla, Tefia, Los Llanos de la Concepción, Ampuyenta or Casillas del Ángel are villages that appear on this first edition of the «Puerto en coche» Guide for the cultural heritage that those villages possess such as little chapels. The local fairs calendar or rural hotels are some of the information contained in this complete guide which comes in a wallet format.

Das Amt für Tourismus der Gemeinde von Puerto del Rosario präsentierte den Führer ‘Puerto im Auto’. Der Bürgermeister der Hauptstadt, Marcial Morales, betonte bei seiner Rede, «die Gemeinde setzt auf ein touristisches Angebot hoher Qualität nicht nur beim direkten Kontakt mit dem Touristen, wofür das Fremdenverkehrsbüro ein Beweis ist, sondern auch bei allen Aktivitäten, die wir ins Leben rufen. Dazu gehört in diesem Fall der Führer ‘Puerto im Auto’. Dazu kommt die personalisierte Betreuung des Besuchers, die in diesem Department fast ein Kennzeichen unserer Identität geworden ist». Diese neue Publikation beabsichtigt, die Touristen zu einer Fahrt durch die Dörfer im Innenland der Gemeinde einzuladen und dabei die kulturellen Werte, die Landschaften, die Gastronomie, die Verkaufsstellen von Kunsthandwerk usw. zu entdecken. Bei diesem Akt wurde auch die zweite Publikation präsentiert, ein Führer der Transportmittel, wo die Leistungen von städtischen und Überlandbussen und Taxis aufgeführt werden, sowie die Preise für diese Art von individuellem und kollektiven Transport, um den Nutzer über die Preise der verschiedenen Strecken, die er wählen kann, zu informieren. El Time, Tetir, La Matilla, Tefía, Los Llanos de la Concepción, Ampuyenta und Casillas del Ángel sind die Dörfer, die in der ersten Ausgabe des Führers «Puerto im Auto» aufgeführt werden, da es in diesen Orten und in deren Umgebung zahlreiche Güter von kulturellem Interesse gibt, zu denen die Wallfahrtskapellen gehören. Der Kalender der örtlichen Feste und das Verzeichnis der ländlichen Unterkünfte gehören zu den Angaben, die man in diesem Führer in Taschenbuchformat findet.

El Cabildo rinde homenaje a personas y entidades distinguidas FMHOY - Fuerteventura Unas 300 personas asistieron, el pasado mes de mayo, en el Auditorio de Gran Tarajal al acto de entrega de los Honores y Distinciones del Cabildo de Fuerteventura, concedidos a personas y entidades significadas por su trabajo y trayectoria en defensa de Fuerteventura y de la sociedad insular. El acto fue presidido por Mario Cabrera, acompañado de los portavoces de los distintos grupos políticos: Manuel Miranda (grupo CC), Marlene Figueroa (grupo PSOE) y Águeda Montelongo (grupo PP), quienes se encargaron de la entrega de los distintos galardones.

BinterCanarias bautiza con el nombre de ‘Baifo’ a la nueva aeronave de la flota ACFIPRESS - Fuerteventura BinterCanarias bautizó el pasado mes de mayo, en Fuerteventura, un nuevo avión. Baifo es el nombre que se le ha dado al avión recientemente incorporado a la flota. La elección de esta denominación se debe a que es una de las ganadoras del certamen organizado por BinterCanarias, a través de Internet, para que fueran los canarios quienes propusieran cómo llamar a siete aeronaves. Baifo fue una de las propuestas más votadas del concurso. En el acto celebrado el pasado mes, un ganadero de la Isla ataviado con vestimenta típica entregó al presidente de la aerolínea un baifo, que a su vez ha sido bautizado como NT 202, el nombre del primer vuelo de BinterCanarias que realizó la conexión con Fuerteventura, el 26 de marzo de 1989. AVIÓN NÚMERO 19 El nuevo avión es el número 19 de la flota de BinterCanarias. Se trata de un ATR 72-500, el modelo más eficiente y ecológico para rutas regionales, el cual además combina el respeto del medio ambiente con un mayor confort para los clientes. Actualmente BinterCanarias cuenta con la flota más numerosa y joven del Archipiélago, que se verá incrementada en un avión más, cuya llegada está prevista para el 2010. BinterCanarias celebra este acto en un año muy especial para la aerolínea, al ser su vigésimo aniversario. También son 20 los años que lleva realizando las conexiones con Fuerteventura, desde el primer vuelo que enlazó con la Isla, el NT 202. Actualmente la aerolínea ofrece una frecuencia de hasta 40 conexiones diarias con Fuerteventura, entre vuelos de ida y vuelta.

BinterCanarias tauft das neue Flugzeug der Flotte mit dem Namen ‘Baifo’ BinterCanarias taufte im vergangenen Mai auf Fuerteventura ein neues Flugzeug. Das Flugzeug, das erst seit kurzem zu der Flotte gehört, wurde Baifo genannt. Dieser Name gehörte zu den Gewinnern bei einem Wettbewerb, den BinterCanarias im Internet organisiert hatte, so dass die Kanaren vorschlagen konnten, wie die sieben Flugzeuge heißen sollten. Baifo war einer der Vorschläge, die bei diesem Wettbewerb am häufigsten gewählt wurden. Bei dem Festakt, der im vergangen Monat stattfand, übergab ein traditionell gekleideter Hirte der Insel dem Vorsitzenden der Fluggesellschaft ein Zicklein, das NT 202 getauft wurde. So hieß der erste Flug von BinterCanarias nach Fuerteventura am 26. März 1989. FLUGZEUG NUMMER 19 Das neue Flugzeug ist das 19. der Flotte von

BinterCanarias. Es ist ein ATR 72-500, das effizienteste und ökologischste Modell für Regionalstrecken, das außerdem den Respekt gegenüber der Umwelt mit mehr Komfort für die Kunden vereint. Heute verfügt BinterCanarias über die größte und jüngste Flotte des Archipels, die voraussichtlich 2010 um ein weiteres Flugzeug vergrößert wird. BinterCanarias feiert diesen Akt in einem für die Fluggesellschaft ganz besonderen Jahr, da es ihr zwanzigster Geburtstag ist. Sie fliegt auch seit 20 Jahren nach Fuerteventura, seit dem ersten Flug zu der Insel, dem NT 202. Heute bietet diese Fluggesellschaft bis zu 40 tägliche Hin- und Rückflüge nach Fuerteventura.

choice of name is the result of a competition organised by BinterCanarias through the internet, so that the name could be chosen by Canarians. Baifo was the proposed name that got the most votes. During the celebration, a livestock farmer from the Island dressed in his typical costume handed a «baifo» to the airline’s president, that was called NT 202, which is the name of BinterCanarias’ first flight to Fuerteventura on 26th March 1989. PLANE NUMBER 19 This new plane is BinterCanarias’ 19th planes. It is an ATR-500, the most efficient and ecological model for regional routes, which combines respect of the environment and comfort for clients. At present BinterCanarias has the largest amount of planes and the newest in the Archipelago, which will be increased with another plane, whose arrival is expected in 2010. BinterCanarias celebrates also their twentieth birthday. It has also been 20 years since the first connecting flight to Fuerteventura, the NT 202. Nowadays the airline offers up to 40 daily connections with Fuerteventura.

El índice de satisfacción del turista mejora en 7 puntos FMHOY - Fuerteventura El presidente del Cabildo, Mario Cabrera, y la consejera insular de Turismo, Águeda Montelongo, asistieron el pasado mes a la presentación ante el sector turístico insular de los resultados del último Índice de Satisfacción del Turista correspondiente a la última temporada de invierno, que se sitúo en 69,87 puntos sobre 100. Este valor, que resulta de una encuesta sobre 27 cualidades de la oferta turística insular que se realiza a más de un millar de turistas en el momento de finalizar sus vacaciones, se ha venido incrementando en las últimas ediciones del estudio, situándose en torno al notable en los IST realizados en las dos últimas temporadas, un 71,30 en el verano de 2008, y un 69,87 el pasado invierno 2008-2009. Este 69,87 supone un incremento de 7 puntos sobre la temporada de invierno anterior, en que los resultados fueron de 62,85 puntos sobre 100. Uno de los aspectos que más han resaltado los encuestados es que el 97% recomendaría Fuerteventura como destino vacacional, de igual manera que un 92% repetiría experiencia, lo que es un signo bastante fiable de que la Isla es un destino apreciado por la gran mayoría de los visitantes. El IST,m, estudio encargado por el Patronato de Turismo de Fuerteventura desde el año 2006, ofrece a los turistas encuestados la posibilidad de pronunciarse acerca de un total de 27 cualidades turísticas, divididas en cuatro categorías fundamentales, que obtuvieron las siguientes puntaciones: · Alojamiento - 74,45. Mejora de casi 5 puntos con respecto a los resultados del invierno pasado (69,68). · Oferta Comercial y complementaria – 58,82. Mejora de 6 puntos con respecto a la temporada anterior (52,83). · Servicio Público e Infraestructuras – 66,51. Mejora de casi 10 puntos con respecto al año pasado (56,15). · Entorno Medioambiental – 79,76. Mejora de 5 puntos en el apartado tradicionalmente más fuerte de todo el índice. Una vez más, las cualidades turísticas mejor valoradas se refirieron al entorno medioambiental, contando con los cuatro únicos valores que superaron los 80 puntos: Estado de las playas (83’04), la limpieza de las playas (81’38), calidad del medio ambiente (80,83) y contaminación acústica (80,55).

En el extremo opuesto, la valoración más baja la registró la oferta cultural, exposiciones, conciertos, con 53,18, pero hay que resaltar que se trata de la primera vez en tres años de estudio que supera el aprobado, mejorando en 6,5 puntos los resultados del invierno pasado (46,84). Las únicas otras cuatro variables que bajaron del 6 fueron la oferta comercial (54.75) y la oferta de ocio –

tiempo libre (54.54), y la relación calidad – precio comercial, dándose, no obstante, la circunstancia de que estas tres cualidades también mejoraron, respectivamente en 7, 9 y 1 puntos. DATOS DESTACABLES · Por primera vez, no hay ningún valor suspendido (por debajo del 50), y todas las cualidades están por encima de 60, a excepción de 4. El invierno anterior, suspendían 3 cualidades, y 11 no superaban el bien. · La valoración del apartado del entorno medioambiental sigue siendo el punto fuerte de la isla. Destacan fuertes incrementos de valoración en calidad del medioambiente (7), contaminación acústica (9), paisaje y entorno urbano (5) y limpieza en general, calles (7). · Incremento de 10 puntos en el apartado de servicio público e infraestructuras, que llega al 66,51. Mejoran muy fuertemente las valoraciones de servicios e instalaciones en el aeropuerto (+10), transporte público (+11), servicios de taxi (+8), oferta cultural, museos, exposiciones, conciertos (+6), instalaciones y actividades deportivas (+8), asistencia sanitaria (+13), información turística (+12), seguridad ciudadana (+9) y trato y profesionalidad del personal de servicios públicos (+14). PERFIL DEL TURISTA Se mantiene la tendencia de pasadas temporadas de invierno, con el turismo alemán y británico como principales mercados emisores, aunque se aprecia un descenso moderado de turistas en el periodo de referencia, situando la cuota de participación de ambos mercados en el 39.0% y 23.1% respectivamente. El turismo español presenta una cuota del 9.7% y el nórdico del 8.2%. En la categoría resto de países se sitúa un 20.0% de los consultados. La media de edad del turista es de 44,4 años (43,2 años el pasado invierno). El 41.3% (45.5% en la edición anterior) de los consultados han visitado con anterioridad la isla, con mayor incidencia entre los turistas alemanes (51,8), aunque el invierno pasado presentaban una cuota del 61.3%. El índice de retención se sitúa en el 92.0%, superior al 86.4% obtenido el pasado invierno. Respecto al índice de recomendación de la temporada, se sitúa en un 97.4%, ligeramente superior al 95.2% de la temporada pasada.

The Tourist Satisfaction Survey is carried out by Fuerteventura’s Tourism Department since 2006 and offers the possibility to tourists that are surveyed to give their opinion regarding 27 points on quality of the island’s tourism, divided in four fundamental categories, which got the following marks: - Accommodation - 74,45. Increase of almost 5 points compared to last winter’s results (69,68). - Commercial and complimentary offer – 58,82. Increase of 6 points compared to last season’s results (52,83). - Public Services and Infrastructures – 66,51. Increase of almost 10 points compared to last year’s results (56,15). - Environment – 79,76. Increase of 5 points in this area that is traditionally the strongest in the survey. Once again, the best marks went to environment, which got the only four rates over 80 points with 83,04 for quality of beaches, 81,38 for beaches’ cleanliness, 80,83 for environment quality and 80,55 for noise pollution. On the opposite side, the lowest marks went to cultural offer, exhibitions, concerts with 53,18 but it must be said that it is the first time in three years that is goes over the 50 mark, with an increase of 6,5 points compared to last winter’s mark of 46,84. The only four points that went down were the commercial offer with 54,75 and the leisure offer with 54,54 and the ratio quality – commercial price. IMPORTANT FIGURES - For the first time, there are no marks under 50,

and all but four criteria are above 60. Last winter, three criteria were under 50 and 11 did not go above good. - The environment criteria continues to be the strong point for the island. Some significant increases have been noticed in quality ratings for environment (7), noise pollution (9), landscape and urban spaces (5) and street cleanliness in general (7). - Increase of 10 points in the department of public services and infrastructures that reaches 66,51. There has also been a great increase in ratings for services and installations in the airport (+10), public transport (+11), taxi services (+8), culture, museums; exhibitions, concerts (+6), sports’ installations and activities (+8), health assistance (+13), tourist information (+12), civilian safety (+9) and services and professionalism from public services’ staff (+14). TOURIST PROFILE Past winter seasons’ tendencies are still true with German and British tourism during referenced periods, with participation rates of 39,0% and 23,1% respectively. Spanish tourism represents 9,7% and Nordic tourism 8,2%. The category regrouping other countries represents 20,0% of people surveyed. The average age of tourists is 44,4 years old (43,2 years old last winter). 41,3% of people surveyed have visited the island before compared with 45,5 for the last survey and German tourists represented the largest part with 51,8%, compared with 61,3% last winter. The retention rating reaches 92,0% compared with 86,4% last winter and the recommendation rating gets 97,4% which is slightly higher than last season’s 95,2%.

Der Zufriedenheitsindex der Touristen verbessert sich um 7 Punkte FMHOY - Fuerteventura Der Präsident des Cabildo, Mario Cabrera, und die Inselbeauftragte für Tourismus, Águeda Montelongo, nahmen im vergangenen Monat an der Präsentation der Ergebnisse des letzten Zufriedenheitsindex der Touristen für die Wintersaison vor dem Tourismussektor der Insel teil, der bei 69,87 von 100 lag. Dieser Wert geht aus einer Umfrage über 27 Qualitäten des Tourismusangebotes auf der Insel hervor, die mit mehr als tausend Touristen am Ende ihres Urlaubs durchgeführt wird. Die Punktzahl wurde bei den Untersuchungen in den vergangenen Jahren erhöht und erhielten bei den Umfragen, die in den letzten beiden Saisons durchgeführt wurden, die Bewertung „ausgezeichnet», 71,30 im Sommer 2008 und 69,87 im Winter 2008-2009. 69,87 Punkte sind 7 Punkte mehr als in der Wintersaison davor, in der die Ergebnisse 62,85 von 100 Punkten betrugen. Einer der Aspekte, die am stärksten betont werden, ist dass 97% Fuerteventura als Urlaubsziel empfehlen würden und dass 92% ihre Erfahrung ebenfalls wiederholen würde. Dies ist ein relativ sicherer Beweis dafür, dass die große Mehrheit der Besucher die Insel schätzt. Das IST ist eine Untersuchung, die seit 2006 vom Patronat für Tourismus von Fuerteventura in Auftrag gegeben wird. So wird den befragten Touristen die Möglichkeit geboten, sich zu insgesamt 27 touristischen Qualitäten zu äußern. Diese sind in vier Kategorien unterteilt und erhielten folgende Bewertungen: - Unterkunft - 74,45. Verbessert sich um fast 5 Punkte im Vergleich zu den Ergebnissen des vergangenen Winters (69,68). - Kommerzielles und ergänzendes Angebot – 58,82. Verbessert sich um 6 Punkte im Vergleich zur vorigen Saison (52,83).

- Öffentliche Leistungen und Infrastrukturen – 66,51. verbessert sich um Fast 10 Punkte im Vergleich zum letzten Jahr (56,15). - Umwelt – 79,76. Der traditionell starke Bereich des Index verbessert sich um 5 Punkte. Wieder einmal sind die am besten bewerteten touristischen Qualitäten mit der Umwelt verbunden. Dazu gehören die einzigen vier Werte, die mehr als 80 Punkte bekamen: Der Zustand der Strände (83,04), die Sauberkeit der Strände (81,38), die Qualität der Umwelt (80,83) und die Lärmverschmutzung (80,55). Die schlechteste Bewertung dagegen bekam mit 53,18 Punkten das kulturelle Angebot, Ausstellungen und Konzerte, aber es muss betont werden, dass dieses zum ersten Mal seit drei Jahren als genügend bezeichnet wird und sich gegenüber den Ergebnissen des vergangenen Winters um 6,5 Punkte verbessert hat (46,84). Die einzigen vier Variablen; die unter 6 sanken, waren das kommerzielle Angebot (54,75) und das Freizeitangebot (54,54), sowie das kommerzielle PreisLeistungsverhältnis, diese drei Qualitäten haben sich jedoch ebenfalls um 7, 9 und 1 Punkt verbessert. BEMERKENSWERTE DATEN - Zum ersten Mal ist kein Wert durchgefallen (unter 50) und alle Qualitäten außer 4 liegen über 60. Im vergangenen Winter fielen drei Qualitäten durch und 11 übertrafen nicht „gut». - Die Bewertung des Umweltbereiches ist weiterhin die Stärke der Insel. Es wird die starke Steigerung der Bewertung der Qualität der Umwelt (7), der Lärmverschmutzung (9), der Landschaft und der städtischen Umgebung (5) und allgemeine Sauberkeit der Straßen (7) betont. - Um 10 Punkte stieg der Wert für öffentliche

PROFIL DES TOURISTEN Die Tendenz der vergangenen Wintersaisons wird beibehalten, wobei der deutsche und britische Tourismus der wichtigste Emissionsmarkt ist, wobei die Teilnahmequote der beiden Märkte 39,0 % und 23,1% beträgt. Es wurde allerdings ein leichter Abfall des Tourismus in der besagten Zeitspanne bemerkt. Der spanische Tourismus weist eine Quote von 9,7% auf und der nordische von 8,2% auf. 20,0% Befragten befinden sich in der Kategorie der übrigen Länder. Das durchschnittliche Alter der Touristen beträgt 44,4 Jahre (43,2 Jahre im vergangenen Winter). 41,3% (45,5% bei der vorherigen Umfrage) der Befragten hatten die Insel schon vorher besucht, dies traf noch stärker bei Deutschen zu (51,8), obwohl es bei diesen im letzten Winter 61,3% waren. Der Retensionsindex liegt bei 92,0% und übertrifft somit die 86,4%, die im letzten Winter erreicht wurden. Der Empfehlungsindex liegt in dieser Saison bei 97,4%, das ist etwas höher als die 95,2% der letzten Saison.

Air Berlín mantendrá las 200.000 plazas aéreas ofertadas FMHOY - Fuerteventura La compañía Air Berlín, que ocupa el primer puesto en conexiones entre el mercado alemán y Fuerteventura, con un 29%, anunciaba el pasado mes de mayo, que el próximo verano mantendrá las mismas 200.000 que ofertaba el año anterior durante la temporada estival, pudiendo incrementar incluso el número total de plazas en pequeños porcentajes. Las estrategias marcadas por la compañía en Fuerteventura, estarán orientadas a la captación de clientes individuales como refuerzo a la venta de los paquetes tradicionales, aprovechando la diversificación de la Isla en segmentos como el turismo de golf o el turismo de congresos. La importancia de encontrar fórmulas que como esta permitirá contrarrestar el menor poder adquisitivo que tiene el turista en la actualidad mediante la impulsión de campañas de promoción conjunta, y alcanzando acuerdos que aseguren un flujo de visitantes que se mueva en una franja similar al de las anteriores temporadas. Alemania es el primer mercado, y ‘Air Berlín’ una compañía que es clave para Fuerteventura, tanto por la gran cantidad de conexiones que mantiene con la isla hasta 14 destinos de tres países europeos- como por el número de rutas, que fueron 1.134 en 2008, sólo por detrás de Happag Lloyd, que realizó 1.364 rutas. Air Berlín conectará 14 ciudades europeas con Fuerteventura, 11 alemanas, dos austriacas y una suiza, alcanzando este verano una previsión de más de 200.000 plazas aéreas ofertadas. El número total de rutas de la compañía en Fuerteventura fue de 1.134 el año pasado. Los aeropuertos que contarán con conexión hacia Fuerteventura este verano a través de Air Berlín serán Colonia-Bonn, Berlín Tegel, Padeborn, Nüremberg, Dresden, Dortmund, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Hamburgo, Munich, Leipzig Zurich y Basel. Se trata de la segunda compañía aérea de Alemania, que conecta 20 ciudades de este país con destinos turísticos del Mediterráneo, Canarias y Baleares, hasta un total de 127. En la actualidad cuenta con una flota de 125 aeronaves. El convenio de colaboración entre el Patronato de Turismo de Fuerteventura y Air Berlín estará orientado en la línea de crear un micro-site en la página web de la compañía que permita promocionar y fomentar la venta vuelos hacia la Isla.

«Hemos seguido apostando por eventos y publicidad de repercusión internacional» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Conseguir un hueco en la agenda de este joven pero experto político (16 años en activo) es un poco complicado, pero nos recibe con su sonrisa habitual a pesar de la presión de tantas llamadas y visitas que esperan su turno. Háblenos un poco de sus actividades a lo largo de estos años… En la legislatura 1999-2003 estaba en el Cabildo y fue mi primer cargo público como consejero de medio ambiente y planeamiento. Fue entonces cuando se aprobó un Plan Insular de Ordenación de Fuerteventura, (PIOF) complementario al Plan de Ordenación del Suelo Rústico que ya estaba y que fue pionero y base para el nuevo Plan Territorial Turístico del que tanto se habla actualmente y también el Plan de Ordenación Turístico, ambos por consenso. En la legislatura de 2003-2007 fui segundo en la lista al Ayuntamiento de Pájara y ganamos y en esta última del 2007 me presentaba para presidente del Cabildo y también como segundo en el Ayuntamiento de Pájara en la Tenencia de Alcaldía y concejal de Obras Públicas y Turismo, que es el cargo que desempeño en la actualidad. Y en estos dos años de nueva andadura, ¿qué avances se han realizado? Bien, no es sólo un trabajo de estos dos años, sino también de la anterior legislatura. Lo primero fue tomar el Plan General de Pájara que estaba anulado por sentencia desde Abril del 2003. Recordemos que nosotros tomamos posesión en junio y esta anulación es lo primero que teníamos sobre la mesa. Esto significaba que había quedado fuera de ordenación todo lo construido aquí y en cuatro años se habían construido unos 26 hoteles. A partir de aquí ha sido intentar hacer cumplir la ley. Una ley de directrices nada claras, que al día de hoy ninguno de los 88 municipios de Canarias ha podido adaptarse a ella. Esto ha llevado a que aún estemos sin Plan General. Se aprobó provisionalmente un planeamiento, seleccionando las propuestas que había, ya que dos días antes de las elecciones el grupo de gobierno anterior aprobó un avance del Plan General, ¡ justo antes de que los ciudadanos evaluaran su labor !. Cuando, al comenzar con el cargo, estudiamos lo aprobado redujimos el 50 % del suelo clasificable que se había previsto y también rebajamos la edificabilidad otro 50% para no ocupar tanta altura. Desde entonces, julio de 2004, estamos trabajando sobre esta base.

Además hemos sido capaces de demostrar, que se puede mantener un ayuntamiento con una deuda de 50 millones (tal como lo encontramos) y sustentar, mantener y aumentar sus servicios, sin licencias de obras, sin cobros de aprovechamientos y sin endeudarlo más. Al día de hoy la deuda es de 18 millones y una deuda corriente de unos 6 a 7 millones, que se va pagando siempre antes del 31 de diciembre. Esta crisis les ha pillado acostumbrados a no tener casi ingresos por licencias de construcción, ¿no? Para nosotros esta crisis comenzó en el 2004. No se ha construido nada desde entonces y ya nos hemos olvidado de ello. Actualmente los desaguisados urbanísticos que hay, no son culpa de los socialistas, ya estaban cuando llegamos. Nosotros hemos seguido apostando por eventos y publicidad de repercusión internacional y planificando el territorio para un turismo de calidad. Sustituyendo establecimientos obsoletos por otros que reúnan las condiciones adecuadas y mejorando las instalaciones. También luchamos para que el Gobierno de Canarias entienda que abrir y mejorar los parques naturales como en el caso de Cofete, es bueno para nuestro turismo. Deseamos rehabilitarlo para su mejor imagen, mejorar el acceso, arreglar el Puertito de la Cruz, etc. También quisiéramos que el Gobierno comprase la casa Winter, y la rehabilitase para convertirla en residencia de los mandatarios que nos visiten, con la publicidad que esto conllevaría. Con Pepe Dámaso tenemos un anteproyecto del Mirador de los Canarios, y también crear un parque escultórico de zonas áridas, que no existe en el mundo y queremos terminar de crear una ruta etnográfica y cultural, ya que hemos ido recuperando distintas tradiciones en el municipio. Los ciudadanos deben saber que el 94 % del territorio de Pájara es espacio protegido, pero que puede a su vez convertirse en un atractivo turístico. Si no seguirá la sangría de turistas hacia Lanzarote, para ver sus bellezas naturales, porque las nuestras no están aprovechadas.

La intención es conseguir el máximo de ocupación en la isla. En el mes de febrero hemos sido el cuarto municipio de España en ocupación después de Barcelona, Valencia y Benidorm, a pesar de ser tiempo de crisis. Entonces ¿qué tanto por ciento de este municipio está edificado? Sólo un 4% aproximadamente está edificado y se prevé que pueda aumentar como máximo un 2% en los próximos doce años, lo cual nos indica que aún queda el doble de lo edificado para un futuro lejano. ¿Cuáles son sus retos pendientes para estos años próximos? Se podría decir que hay distintos frentes a negociar y conseguir: Por un lado esta la Comisión de Ordenación del Territorio y Medio Ambiente de Canarias, (C. O. T. M. A. C.), que tiene un distinto rasero para cada provincia de Canarias. Hay actuaciones que se autorizan para Tenerife y no se pueden hacer en Las Palmas. Sabemos que son distintos técnicos, pero es una misma ley y debiera ser la misma interpretación y también está el tema de costas, que desde el año 1998 no ha realizado prácticamente ninguno de sus compromisos de inversión en la isla. Sólo vienen a destruir casas que incumplen la ley, lo que está bien, pero que en algunos casos son núcleos históricos. En otros lugares como Santander, Valencia etc., los paseos marítimos se han ido adaptando a la fisonomía del lugar, y aquí tenemos que derruir y retranquear para poder mantenerlos. Incluso en Gran Canaria se pudo tomar parte del mar para hacer una autopista. También aprobar por nuestra parte, el documento del Plan General, ahora hay una nueva Ley de Directrices, aprobada en el Parlamento de Canarias que intentaremos cumplirla para que existan las mínimas indemnizaciones posibles, ya que estas finalmente salen de los bolsillos de todos los ciudadanos. Las cinco grandes propietarias del suelo de Jandía están pactadas y se avienen a la reducción del ámbito y de la edificabilidad de los terrenos y pendientes de firmar los convenios reguladores. También luchar para que se apruebe ya, el Plan de Energía para Fuerteventura, y así dejemos de perder dinero. Tenemos un potencial de sol y viento desaprovechado por falta de tener un plan correcto para desarrollar las energías renovables. Nos ha hablado de sus ocho años de cargos públicos, de su vocación socialista desde los 17 años en las juventudes socialistas y también de las dudas entre continuar o volver a su vida laboral como asesor fiscal, pudiendo dedicar más tiempo a sus negocios particulares y familiares, llevando una vida más tranquila. ¿Realmente quiere abandonar la política? Lo que tengo necesariamente que hacer es sopesar la decisión de si voy a continuar otros cuatro años. Tanto gobernar, como estar en la oposición cansa. Sobre todo vivir en una comunidad autónoma donde todo es «no» y aunque lo intentes no puedes avanzar tus propósitos. No se tiene una proyección de futuro clara, no se sabe a dónde queremos ir, todo son parches en cada momento y siempre tarde. En vez atacar el problema inicialmente, se muestra el atajo y eso es un problema. Pero si hay que abanderar un cambio trabajaremos para ello, aunque creo que realmente va a estar muy difícil ¿Cuál es su idea para ese cambio? Combinar el desarrollo de la isla con la protección de la misma sin exagerar las formas y sin decisiones radicales y viscerales de un partido. Intentar dar la imagen de los salvadores de la isla, es contrario de los documentos de ordenación con los que nos estamos dotando, no podemos seguir mirando solo a nuestro ombligo, hay que mirar hacia el futuro.

«We have kept on organising events and international advertisement and planning for quality tourism» FMHOY - Fuerteventura To get a space in the timetable of this young but expert politician (who has been active for 16 years) is a little complicated, but he welcomes us with his usual smile despite the pressure of so many calls and visitors waiting for their turn. Tell us a little about your activities along the years... During the 1999-2003 term I was at the Cabildo, which was my first public role as Environment and Planning Councillor. This is when the Island’s Planning for Fuerteventura (PIOF) was approved, complimenting the Island’s Rustic Soil Planning that was the very first one and inspired the new Territorial Tourism Plan that is being talked about so much at present as well as the Tourism Planning, both by consensus. During the 2003-2007 term I was second on Pájara’s Ayuntamiento’s list when we won and during this last one in 2007 I went as candidate for the Cabildo’s presidency and also as second in Pájara’s Ayuntamiento for the Town Hall and Public Project and Tourism councillor, which is the role I current hold. During those past two years, what improvements have you made? Well, it is not only work that has gone on over the past two years, but also over the previous term. First it was a case of looking at the General Plan for Pájara that had been cancelled since April 2003. I point out that we took over in June and this cancellation was our first task. This meant that all that had been built was outside planning and within four years 26 hotels had been built. From then on we had to try to apply the law. A law that is anything but clear and that at today’s date none of the 88 municipalities in the Canaries have been able to adapt to. This is why we still don’t have a General Plan. Planning was provisionally approved, selecting proposals that existed since two days before the elections as the previous government had approved a pre-General Plan, just before citizens evaluated their work! When we started studying the proposals we reduced by 50% the surface of land to be classed and we also reduced the amount of land to be built on by another 50%. Since then, July 2004, we are working on that basis. We have also been able to prove that an Ayuntamiento can be managed with a 50 million debt (as we found it) and sustain, maintain and increase services, without work licences, without collecting taxes and without getting further into debt. At present the debt represents 18 millions and there is a running debt of 6 to 7 millions that always gets settled by 31st December. Hasn’t the crisis affected you with the lack of income from building licences? For us the crisis started in 2004. Nothing has been built since then, therefore we have never relied on it. The disappointed urban builders that are currently here have nothing to do with the socialists, there were here before we arrived. We have carried on organising events and international advertisement and planning for quality tourism. By substituting obsolete establishments and improving installations. We are also fighting to get the Canaries’ Government to agree to open and improve natural parks such as that of Cofete, which is good for our tourism. We want to bring back its former better image, improve access and Puertito de la Cruz, etc. We would also like the Government to buy Casa Winter and refurbish it to convert it as a residence for official visitors and benefit from all the advertisement that it would bring on. With Pepe Dámaso we have put together a pre-project for the Mirador de los Canarios and also created a sculpture park in arid areas which is unique in the world and we wish to complete the ethnographic and cultu-

Citizens should be aware that 94% of the territory of Pájara is protected area which can also be converted in an attractive tourism area. However the main flow of tourist will continue to go to Lanzarote to explore its natural beauty because we don’t take advantage of ours. We intend to get as much occupation as possible on the island. During the month of February we were the fourth municipality in Spain on the occupation ranking behind Barcelona, Valencia and Benidorm, despite the crisis. So, how much of the municipality is actually built on? Only 4% approximately is built and it is expected that it may increase by 2% maximum within the next 12 years. What are your remaining goals for the future years? We could say that there are various fronts to negotiate with and to achieve: On one side we have the Planning Commission of the Territory and Environment of the Canaries that deals differently with each province in the Canaries. Some projects are authorised for Tenerife and cannot be done in Las Palmas. We know that technicians are different, but the law is the same and should be interpreted the same way. There is also the matter of coasts that since 1998 have hardly completed any of their investment compromises on the island. They only come round and have houses that don’t comply with the law destroyed, which is good but at time those are historical buildings. In other places such as Santander, Valencia, etc., the seafront paths have been adapted to the site, whereas here we have to move everything to be able to maintain them. Worse even in Gran Canaria it was granted to use part of the seafront for a motorway. Furthermore on our side we need to approve the General Plan, there is now a new Directing Law, approved by the Canaries’ Government that we will try to comply with so that there can be minimal indemnities because they come directly from citizens pockets. The five main land owners in Jandia are bound by agreements and are affected by the reduction of surface of land that can be built on and are expected to sign regulating agreements. We are also fighting for the Energy Plan for Fuerteventura to be approved as soon as possible so that we

can stop wasting money. We have a great potential of sun and wind that is unexploited because we don’t have the appropriate plan in place that will allow us to develop renewable energies. You have told us about your eight years of public role, of your socialist vocation since you were 17 years of age in the socialist youths and also about your doubts about carrying on or coming back to your working life as financial advisor, being able to dedicate more time to private businesses and families, having a more relaxed life. Do you really want to give up politics? What I really have to do is weigh up my decision to continue for another four years. Both governing and being in the opposition is tiring. Especially living in an autonomous community where the answer to everything is «no» and although you try you cannot get your proposals to go forward. There is no clear projection of the future, we don’t know where we want to go, everything gets patched up at the last minute. Instead of attacking the problem from the beginning, we look at the shortcut and this is a problem. But if we have to make changes we will work at it although I truly think that it will be difficult. What is your idea for this change? To combine the development of the island with its protection without exaggerating and without radical or visceral decisions from one side. To try to bring an image of island’s saviours is contrary to the planning documents that we are getting, we need to start looking further than the end of our nose, we have to look to the future.

QUIÉN ES QUIÉN EN LA ISLA / WHO’S WHO IN THE ISLAND? /WER IST WER AUF DER INSEL?

«Wir haben weiterhin auf Events und Werbung von internationaler Bedeutung gesetzt und dabei die Nutzung des Gemeindegebietes für einen Qualitätstourismus geplant» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Es ist schwer, einen Termin mit diesem jungen und erfahrenen Politiker zu bekommen (16 Jahre in der Politik), aber er empfängt uns mit seinem üblichen Lächeln, trotz dem Druck der vielen Telefongespräche und Besucher, die auf ihn warten. Erzählen Sie uns bitte etwas über Ihre Aktivitäten in diesen Jahren... In der Legislaturperiode 1999-2003 war ich im Cabildo und übte mein erstes öffentliches Amt als Beauftragter für Umwelt und Planung aus. Damals wurde der Inselplan für Raumordnung für Fuerteventura (PIOF) als Ergänzung des schon genehmigten Plans für Raumordnung für ländlichen Boden verabschiedet, der bahnbrechend war und Grundlage des neuen Gebietsplans für Tourismus diente, über den heute so viel geredet wird. Dazu kommt der Plan für touristische Raumordnung, beide beruhen auf Konsens. In der Legislaturperiode 2003-2007 war ich der zweite auf der Liste für das Rathaus von Pájara, und wir gewannen. Bei den letzten Wahlen 2007 kandidierte ich für das Amt des Präsidenten des Cabildo und auch als zweiter für das Bezirksbürgermeisteramt und für das Amt des Beauftragten für öffentliche Bauarbeiten und Tourismus in Pájara. Dieses Amt bekleide ich im Moment. Und welche Fortschritte haben Sie in diesen beiden letzten Jahren gemacht? Gut, das ist nicht nur die Arbeit der letzten zwei Jahre, sondern auch der vorherigen Legislaturperiode. Zuerst mussten wir uns mit dem Generalplan von Pájara befassen, der 2003 durch Gerichtsentscheid annulliert worden war. Wir müssen uns daran erinnern, dass wir im Juni dran gekommen sind und dass diese Annullierung das erste war, was wir auf dem Tisch hatten. Das bedeutete, dass alles, was hier gebaut worden ist, nicht der Raumordnung entsprach, und in vier Jahren waren 26 Hotels gebaut worden. Von da an haben wir uns bemüht, uns an die Gesetze zu halten. Es ist ein Gesetz mit klaren Vorschriften, an die sich bis jetzt keine der 88 Gemeinde der Kanaren anpassen konnte. Das hat dazu geführt, dass wir immer noch keinen Generalplan haben. Es wurde ein provisorischer Plan verabschiedet, wobei bestehende Vorschläge ausgewählt wurden, da die vorherige Regierungsfraktion zwei Tage vor den Wahlen einen Vorentwurf des Generalplans verabschiedet hat. Kurz bevor die Bürger ihre Arbeit bewerten konnten! Als ich in meinem Amt begonnen habe, untersuchten wir das, was verabschiedet worden war, und reduzierten

Blas Acosta – Beauftragter für öffentliche Bauarbeiten und Tourismus der Gemeinde von Pájara den vorgesehenen klassifizierbaren Boden um 50 % und wir verringerten auch die Bebaubarkeit um weitere 50%, um nicht so viel Höhe zu besetzen. Seit damals, im Juli 2004, arbeiten wir auf diesen Grundlagen. Außerdem waren wir in der Lage zu beweisen, dass man eine Gemeinde mit 50 Millionen Schulden (in diesem Zustand haben wir sie angetroffen) halten und ihre Leistungen erhöhen kann, ohne Baugenehmigungen und ohne weitere Schulden zu machen. Heute betragen die Schulden 18 Millionen, dazu kommen noch laufende Schulden von ungefähr 6 bis 7 Millionen, die immer vor dem 31. Dezember zurückgezahlt werden. Die Krise kam für Sie zu einem Zeitpunkt, wo Sie schon daran gewöhnt waren, über fast keine Einnahmen für Baugenehmigungen zu verfügen. Stimmt das? Für uns begann diese Krise 2004. Seit damals ist nichts gebaut worden, und wir haben das schon vergessen. Das heutige städtebauliche Durcheinander ist nicht die Schuld der Sozialisten, es bestand schon, als wir kamen. Wir haben weiterhin auf Events und Werbung auf internationaler Ebene gesetzt und die Verwendung des Gebietes für einen qualitativ wertvollen Tourismus geplant. Wir haben obsolete Niederlassungen durch andere ersetzt, die die angemessenen Bedingungen erfüllten, und haben die Einrichtungen verbessert. Wir kämpfen auch dafür, dass die Regierung der Kanaren versteht, dass es gut für unseren Tourismus ist, die Nationalparks zu öffnen und zu verbessern. Das ist unser Plan für Cofete. Wir möchten den Nationalpark sanieren, damit er ein besseres Image bekommt, seine Zugänge verbessern, Puertito de la Cruz in Ordnung bringen usw. Wir möchten auch, dass die Regierung die Casa Winter kauft und saniert, um daraus eine Residenz für die wichtige Besucher zu machen, die uns besuchen, was für sehr viel Werbung sorgen kann. Mit Pepe Dámaso haben wir ein Vorprojekt für den Aussichtspunkt der Kanaren und für die Schaffung eines Skulpturparks der trockenen Zonen, das wäre einzigartig auf der ganzen Welt. Außerdem möchten wir eine ethnographische und kulturelle Route schaffen, da wir nach und nach schon verschiedene Traditionen der Gemeinde wiederbelebt haben. Die Bürger müssen wissen, dass 94 % des Geländes von Pájara ein Naturschutzgebiet ist, aber das kann für den Tourismus reizvoll sein. Sonst würden die Touristen nicht weiterhin nach Lanzarote fahren, um die natürlichen Schönheiten dieser Insel zu besichtigen. Warum werden unsere Naturschutzgebiete nicht genutzt? Es wird beabsichtigt, auf der Insel die höchstmögliche Beschäftigung zu erreichen. Im Februar waren wir trotz der Krise die vierte Gemeinde Spaniens im Bereich der Beschäftigung, direkt nach Barcelona, Valencia und Benidorm.

Wie viel Prozent dieser Gemeinde sind bebaut? Nur ungefähr 4% des Geländes ist bebaut, und man geht davon aus, dass es in den nächsten zwölf Jahren um maximal 2% gesteigert werden kann. Daraus geht hervor, dass uns noch das Doppelte des Bebauten für eine weit entfernte Zukunft bleibt. Was sind Ihre Herausforderungen für die nächsten Jahre? Man könnte sagen, dass an verschiedenen Fronten verhandelt werden muss, um etwas zu erreichen: Auf der einen Seite steht die Kommission für Raumordnung und Umwelt der Kanaren (C. O. T. M. A. C.), die für jede Provinz der Kanaren andere Regeln hat. Es gibt Eingriffe, die auf Teneriffa genehmigt werden, die man aber nicht in Las Palmas machen kann. Wir wissen, dass überall andere Techniker zuständig sind, aber es ist das gleiche Gesetz und müsste immer gleich interpretiert werden. Dazu kommt das Thema der Küsten. In diesem Bereich wurde seit 1998 praktisch keines der Versprechen für Investitionen auf der Insel verwirklicht. Sie kommen nur, um Häuser zu zerstören, was richtig ist, aber in einigen Fällen sind es historische Stadtkerne. In anderen Orten wie Santander, Valencia usw. wurden die Strandpromenaden an die Physiognomie des Ortes angepasst, und hier müssen wir zerstören und architektonische Eingriffe machen, um sie behalten zu können. Sogar auf Gran Canaria konnte man einen Teil des Meeres verwenden, um eine Autostraße zu bauen. Außerdem müssen wir das Dokument für den Generalplan verabschieden, jetzt wo es neue Richtlinien gibt, die im Parlament der Kanaren verabschiedet wurden. Wir werden uns bemühen, diese zu erfüllen, damit es zu so wenige Entschädigungen wie möglich kommt, da diese letzten Endes aus der Tasche aller Bürger finanziert werden. Die fünf Großgrundbesitzer von Jandía haben Vereinbarungen gemacht und finden sich mit der der Reduzierung des Bereiches und der Bebaubarkeit des Geländes ab und warten darauf, regulierende Abkommen zu unterzeichnen. Wir werden auch dafür kämpfen, dass endlich der Energieplan für Fuerteventura genehmigt wird, damit wir nicht weiterhin Geld verlieren. Wir verfügen über ein Potential an Sonne und Wind, das nicht genutzt wird, da wir keinen korrekten Plan für die Entwicklung der erneuerbaren Energien haben. Sie haben uns von Ihren acht Jahren in öffentlichen Ämtern erzählt, von Ihrer sozialistischen Berufung, seitdem Sie mit 17 Jahren bei Juventudes Socialistas waren und auch über Ihre Zweifel, ob Sie wieder in Ihren ehemaligen Beruf als Steuerberater zurückkehren sollten, wo Sie ihren privaten Geschäften und Ihrer Familie mehr Zeit widmen und ein ruhiges Leben führen könnten. Möchten Sie wirklich mit der Politik aufhören? Ich muss die Entscheidung abwägen, ob ich in vier Jahren aufhören werde. Sowohl regieren, als auch der Opposition anzugehören ist ermüdend. Vor allem in einer autonomen Region, wo zu allem „nein» gesagt wird und man, auch wenn man es versucht, nicht mit den eigenen Vorsätzen weiter kommt. Es gibt keinen klaren Plan für die Zukunft, man weiß nicht, wo wir uns hin bewegen wollen. Alle Lösungen, die geboten werden, sind ungenügend und sie kommen immer spät. Statt das Problem gleich anzugehen, weicht man ihm aus, und das ist ein Problem. Wenn ein Wechsel stattfinden muss, werden wir für den Wechsel arbeiten, aber ich glaube, dass es wirklich schwierig werden wird. Was sind Ihre Ideen für diesen Wechsel? Die Entwicklung der Insel mit ihrem Schutz zu kombinieren, ohne zu übertreiben und ohne radikale und emotionale Entscheidungen einer Partei. Der Versuch, sich als Retter der Insel zu zeigen, widerspricht unserem Dokument für die Raumordnung. Wir können nicht weiterhin immer nur unseren eigenen Bauchnabel anschauen, wir müssen der Zukunft ins Auge sehen.

De vinos: una cultura en auge FMHOY - Marta Burgués El mundo de la gastronomía y, más concretamente, el de la cultura vitivinícola de nuestro país ha ganado posiciones en los últimos años. Ya no está reservado a unos pocos sino que cada vez atrae a un gran número de personas de todo tipo de condición. Entender su proceso de fabricación, la realización de catas, el enoturismo o la vinoterapia está a la orden del día. Esta preciada bebida -para la que los griegos atribuyeron a Dionisios la categoría de dios y también los romanos lo hicieron con Bacus-, es considerada como uno de los mejores elixires de la vida. Sin duda alguna, el vino es parte de la historia de España, que cuenta con importantes bodegas y Denominaciones de Origen de contrastada solvencia repartidas por toda la geografía española. Ejemplos de ello son las denominaciones de La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedés, Somontano y, como no, el Malvasía de Canarias, cultivo introducido a comienzos del siglo XVI en el norte de Tenerife y en La Palma, desde donde se exportaba a buena parte de Europa, principalmente, a Inglaterra que, posteriormente, lo llevaba a sus colonias y cuyo origen de la uva es griego, aunque persiste cierta controversia acerca de su exacta situación inicial, dado que la palabra «malvasía» es de origen italiano. Muchas de éstas variedades las podemos ya encontrar en restaurantes de todo el mundo, alcanzando un gran reconocimiento y calidad. BLANCOS, ROSADOS Y TINTOS Hay que saber ciertas normas esenciales a la hora

de beber un vino. Por ejemplo, los entendidos afirman que no siempre el vino tinto es el mejor, ya que un buen rosado – de paladar menos robusto que el tinto, pero más recio que un blanco- es un vino totalmente digno y con propiedades muy especiales. Asimismo, es bueno saber cuánto tiempo se debe guardar el vino. Según Bodegas Torres, un vino blanco que no haya sido criado en madera debe consumirse en sus dos primeros años, contando la fecha de la cosecha, que siempre debe aparecer en la etiqueta. Por su parte, los vinos rosados deben consumirse jóvenes cuando sólo llevan uno o dos años en la botella porque se disfrutamos mejor de sus cualidades frutales. Los vinos tintos admiten todas las posibilidades; desde los jóvenes, sin crianza de madera, que deben consumirse en uno o dos años, hasta las mejores reservas, que pueden evolucionar en botella durante más de una década. MARIDAJES El auge de la gastronomía ha hecho que el vino adquiera suma importancia en los restaurantes y centros de ocio. Es por ello que la mayoría de establecimientos poseen una importante carta de caldos y, algunos cuentan con la figura del sumiller, que asesora y escoge los vinos que casan mejor con los platos que ofrece cada local. Además, la figura del sumiller aconseja y explica a los comensales las propiedades y texturas que presenta cada vino. Es por ello que los maridajes están de moda. Hay miles de combinaciones, pero a grandes rasgos pode-

mos decir que los vinos blancos (más frescos y jóvenes) son ideales para acompañar los aperitivos, mariscos y toda clase de pescados. Las carnes rojas combinan a la perfección con el vino tinto, porque posee substancias ásperas que proceden de la piel de la uva, lo que les permite enfrentarse a la textura de la carne y al sabor de las proteínas. Sin embargo, estas reglas no siempre se cumplen porque hay sumilleres que dicen que determinados tintos van bien con todo tipo de alimentos. ENOTURISMO Y VINOTERAPIA Además de las catas que se organizan en todo el territorio, desde hace pocos años una nueva modalidad de turismo se impone; estamos hablando del enoturismo, que se basa en visitar y conocer lugares a través de la cultura del vino que se cultiva en dicha región. Al enoturismo, donde se disfruta visitando las bodegas más importantes de un país, se le suma la vinoterapia. El vino ofrece muchas propiedades beneficiosas para el organismo. La uva es muy rica en minerales, vitaminas y aporta un combinado de carbohidratos muy recomendable para compatibilizarlo con el ejercicio físico. Además, se ha demostrado que protegen el sistema cardiovascular por su contenido en flavonoides y que es un antioxidante y protege las arterias y el corazón, hecho reconocido por médicos que recomiendan el consumo de vino a diario. La vinoterapia se realiza mediante un masaje a través de uvas o semillas de uva y es beneficioso para gente de mediana edad porque produce un intenso efecto antiedad, tonifica y proporciona un efecto antioxidante global de la superficie cutánea.

Wine: a booming culture FMHOY - Marta Burgués The world of gastronomy and more precisely that of viticulture in Spain has been gaining popularity over the past few years. It is no longer reserved to the minority and attracts more and more people of all backgrounds. Understanding the fabrication process, organising tastings, wine tourism or vinotherapy are all popular. This precious drink – for which the Greeks assigned the god Dionysus and the god Bacus for Romans -, is considered as one of the best elixirs of life. Without a doubt wine is part of Spain’s history with its many vineyards and Denominations of Origin of all kinds all over the country. There are for example denominations for La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedés, Somontano and not forgetting the Malvasía de Canarias, which was introduced at the beginning of the 16th century in the north of Tenerife and La Palma. This is when it started being exported in most of Europe, especially in England and was later taken to its colonies. The origin of this grape is Greek, although there are still some controversies about its exact origins given that the name «Malvasia» is Italien. Most of those varieties can be found in restaurants all over the world and are getting quite renowned and appreciated. WHITE, ROSÉ AND RED There are some essential norms when it comes to drinking wine. For example specialists insist in saying that a red wine is not always the best, and a good rosé – less robust than a red wine, but more than a white one – is a wine that deserves respect and possesses very special properties. It is also good to know how long the wine can be kept for. According to Bodegas Torres, a white wine that has not been kept in a wooden barrel must be drunk within the first two years after the harvest date that is always shown on the bottle’s sticker. On the other hand, rosé wines must be consumed young when they have only been bottled for one or two years so that their fruity flavour can be fully enjoyed. Red wines offer all possibilities; from young ones, not preserved in wooden barrels that should be consumed within one or two years, to the best reserves that can improve once bottled for over a decade. FOOD AND WINE MATCHING Gastronomy’s boom has catapulted wine to great levels in restaurants and leisure centres. This is why most establishments have quite a large list of

beverages and some rely on the sommelier (wine waiter) to choose wines according to dishes served. Furthermore the sommelier advises and explains to clients the properties and textures of each wine. This is why marriages are very popular. There are thousands of combinations, but summing up roughly we can say that white wines (more refreshing and younger) are ideal for aperitifs, sea food and all kinds of fish. Red meats go perfectly with red wine, because it contains rough substances that come from the grape’s skin that are more appropriate to the meat and protein’s textures. However, those rules are not always true as some Maître D say that some red wines can accompany any kind of food. WINE TOURISM AND VINOTHERAPY In addition to tastings organised all over the country, a new kind of tourism has started emerging over the past few years; we are talking about wine tourism, that

consists of visiting and knowing some sites through the wine culture that is cultivated in those regions. In addition to wine tourism, where one enjoys visiting the most famous vineyards of the country, there is also vinotherapy. Wine offers many health benefits. Grape is very rich in minerals, vitamins and brings a combination of carbohydrates that are quite recommended and compatible with physical exercise. Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that wine protects the cardiovascular system thanks to the flavonoids it contains and it is an antioxidant that protects arteries and the heart, which is a recognised fact by doctors who recommend a daily consumption of wine. Vinotherapy consists of a massage with grape and grape seeds and is very beneficial for middle aged people for its anti-ageing effect, that tones up and has a global anti-oxidant effect on the skin.

Über Wein: eine blühende Kultur FMHOY - Marta Burgués Die Welt der Gastronomie und genauer die der Weinerzeugung hat in den vergangenen Jahren in unserem Land an Bedeutung gewonnnen. Sie ist nicht mehr einigen wenigen vorbehalten, sondern zieht immer mehr Menschen jeder Art an. Es gehört zu unserem Alltag, dass wir den Herstellungsprozess kennen möchten, dazu gehören Weinproben, Önotourismus und Weintherapie. Dieses hochgeschätzte Getränk – für das die Griechen Dionisios in die Kategorie der Götter erhoben und die Römer das gleiche mit Bacchus taten - gilt als eines der besten Elixiere des Lebens. Der Wein ist zweifellos ein Teil der Geschichte Spaniens, da es in diesem Land bedeutende Bodegas und Herkunftsbezeichnungen gibt. Beispiele dafür sind die Herkunftsbezeichnungen Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedés, Somontano und natürlich Malvasía von den Kanaren. Diese Kultur wurde zu Beginn des XVI. Jahrhunderts im Norden von Teneriffa und auf La Palma eingeführt wurde. Von dort aus wurde dieser Wein in zahlreiche Länder Europas importiert, vor allem nach England, von wo aus er in die britischen Kolonien gebracht wurde. Die Traube ist griechischen Ursprungs, obwohl sich die Experten nicht über ihren genauen Herkunftsort einig sind, da das Wort «Malvasía» einen italienischen Ursprung hat. Viele dieser Sorten findet man in Restaurants der ganzen Welt, denn sie haben eine hohe Qualität und werden sehr geschätzt. WEIßWEINE, ROSÉS UND ROTWEINE Wenn man Wein trinkt, muss man gewisse Grundregeln kennen. Die Kenner behaupten zum Beispiel, dass Rotwein nicht immer der beste ist, da es auch guten Rosé gibt, der nicht so einen starken Geschmack hat, wie der Rotwein, aber derber ist als Weißwein und besondere Eigenschaften besitzt. Es ist auch wichtig zu wissen, wie lange man Wein lagern muss. Nach Ansicht von Bodegas Torres muss ein Weißwein, der nicht in Holz ausgebaut wurde, in den ersten zwei Jahren getrunken werden, wobei das Datum der Ernte zählt, das immer auf dem Etikett stehen muss. Rosés dagegen müssen jung getrunken werden, wenn sie erst seit einem oder zwei Jahren in der Flasche sind, weil wir so besser ihre fruchtigen Qualitäten genießen können. Bei Rotwein gibt es sämtliche Möglichkeiten; von den jungen Weinen, die nicht in Holz gereift sind und in den ersten zwei Jahren

verbraucht werden müssen, bis zu en besten Qualitätsweinen (Reservas), die mehr als zehn Jahre in der Flasche bleiben können. KOMBINATIONEN Der Aufschwung der Gastronomie hat dazu geführt, dass der Wein in Restaurants und Freizeitzentren eine große Bedeutung gewonnen hat. Deshalb gibt es in den meisten eine bedeutende Weinkarte, und einige verfügen über einen Kellermeister, der die Kunden berät und die Wein auswählt, die am besten zu den Gerichten passen, welche in jedem Lokal angeboten werden. Nicola y Werner Arenz - Refugio para gatos Kitz’n’Katz de Casillas de Morales

«Adoptar un gato supone contar con un miembro más en su familia» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Nos encontramos en el refugio para gatos Kitz’n’Katz que dirigen Nicola y Werner. Son una pareja sorprendente, con un cariño y compromiso común hacia los gatos a los que dedican todo su tiempo, en una entrega digna de admiración. Su refugio para gatos es muy amplio, cómodo y limpio y del buen trato que reciben sus animalitos es fácil percatarse al entrar en las jaulas y observar como se acercan a ser acariciados. Llevan en la isla desde 1982 y nos cuentan que ya en su primera semana aquí adoptaron el primer gatito al que han seguido muchos más, hasta llegar a los 150 aproximadamente que tienen recogidos en la actualidad. Nicola, ¿en qué momento crean esta sociedad benéfica para gatos? Fue en el año 2001, pero desde 1992 ya me dedicaba a recoger a todos los gatos silvestres que encontraba, a esterilizarlos, darles de comer y buscarles hogar a los más pequeños. Al principio vivíamos en el sur de la isla, pero luego al comprar esta casa en el campo comenzamos con 16 gatos que ya traíamos hasta llegar a las cifras actuales.

¿Reciben algún tipo de ayuda económica para alimentar y cuidar de tanto animalito? Nada, de ningún estamento oficial. Cuando terminamos las instalaciones escribimos una carta al Cabildo y al Ayuntamiento para solicitar algo de ayuda y ni nos han contestado. Sólo contamos con la ayuda de los socios fijos y también con donaciones eventuales que van desde un saco de comida a una aportación de dinero ocasional. Por ejemplo la construcción de la gatera fue gracias a una donación de una seño-

ra alemana que nos dio casi un millón de pesetas y el resto de Twinkle Trust la organización inglesa que viene dos veces al año a Fuerteventura para esterilizar los gatos silvestres. También desde Kitz’n’katz en Alemania nos hacen llegar parte del dinero de sus donaciones para ayudarnos. Otra opción es aportar algo de su tiempo. Uno o varios días para ayudarnos con el trabajo físico es mucho para nosotros, lo cual disminuiría los gastos de pagar personal exterior. Vemos que su esposo comparte su interés por los gatos, ¿le apoyó siempre? Sí, desde el principio; en su familia siempre tuvieron perros. Su padre fue entrenador de perros, pero nosotros empezamos en Mallorca a trabajar y desde el principio tuvimos perros y gatos. En la actualidad las horas que su trabajo le deja libre siempre esta trabajando conmigo aquí. ¿Son muchos los gatos abandonados? Sí, algunos nos los dejan en la puerta, otras veces los encontramos pequeñitos tirados en un cubo de basura o toda una camada en una bolsa de plástico.

También al borde de la carretera abandonan sus mascotas, para que no puedan regresar y suelen acabar atropelladas sobre todo cuando son pequeños. Además de lo cruel que resulta, esto no es una solución, ya que si no castran sus animalitos el problema de nuevas crías en pocos meses estará de nuevo.

Si alguien quiere adoptar un gato, ¿cuales son los pasos a seguir? Debe firmar un contrato con algunas cláusulas de responsabilidad y protección para el animal y en el que se compromete a cuidarlo correctamente, y pagar los gastos de castración y vacunación que ya tenga realizados y que son muy económicos. Si el gatito es muy pequeño el compromiso de castración se realizará a la edad adecuada. Es muy importante que las personas que adoptan cualquier mascota, sean conscientes del compromiso que han adquirido y que no es un capricho temporal. ¡Ya es un miembro más de su familia! Por darles algunos datos de interés a nuestros lectores les contaremos que además de las amplias instalaciones de jaulas grandes y pequeñas para distintas necesidades, el refugio consume mensualmente unos 2.500 kilos de pienso y 1.400 latas de comida para gatos adultos y unas 500 latas de comida y unos 50 kilos de pienso para gatitos pequeños. «Adopting a cat means having one more family member» FMHOY - Fuerteventura We are in the refuge for cats «Kitz’n’Katz» that Nicola and Werner run. They are a surprising couple, with such admirable kindness and dedication towards cats who they dedicate their entire time to. Their refuge for cats is very large, practical and clean and it is easy to see how well the animals are cared for when they all come forward to be stroked as we get into the cages. They have been on the island since 1982 and tell us that they adopted their first kitten during their first week on the island and many others followed, reaching about 150 cats rescued at present. Nicola, when did you create this charity for cats? It was in 2001, but I started dedicating my time to rescuing wild cats, sterilising them, feeding them and finding homes for the youngest ones in 1992.

We first used to live in the south of the island, and later when we bought this house in the countryside we got 16 cats which evolved to the number we have now. Do you get any type of financial help to feed and take care of so many cats? We don’t get help from any official body. When we completed the installations, we wrote a letter to the Cabildo and the Ayuntamiento asking for some kind of help and they never even replied to us. We only rely on the help from members and punctual donations that vary from a bag of food to occasional cash inputs. For example we managed to build the cattery thanks to a donation from a German lady who gave us almost one million pesetas and the rest came from the Twinkle Trust, the English organisation that comes twice a year in Fuerteventura to sterilise wild cats. Furthermore, Kitz’n’Katz in Germany send us part of the cash donations they receive to help us. Another option is dedicating time; one or various days helping with the physical work helps us a lot, and reduces costs involved in getting staff. We can see that your husband shares your interest for cats, has he always supported you? Yes, since the beginning; in his family they had always had dogs. His father was a dog trainer, but we started working in Mallorca and from the beginning we had dogs and cats. Nowadays he always works with me during his time spare time. Are there many abandoned cats? Yes, some are left on our doorstep, and other times we find them abandoned in bins or full litters in plastic

bags. People also abandon their pets on the side of the road so that they can’t find their way back and end up being hurt, especially for the young ones. As well as being cruel, this is not a solution, because if they don’t sterilise the animal, they will have the same problem again a few months down the line. If someone wants to adopt a cat, what is the procedure? They must sign a contract that contains a few clauses of responsibility and protection of the animal, where people commit to take good care of the animal, pay the fees for sterilisation and vaccination that have already been carried out and are quite cheap. If the cat is very young the sterilisation clause dictates for it to be carried out at the appropriate age. It is very important for people who adopt to be aware of the

commitment they are making and that is it not something temporary. It is another family member! «Eine Katze zu adoptieren heißt, dass man ein weiteres Familienmitglied bekommt» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Wir befinden uns im Refugium für Katzen Kitz’n’Katz, das von Nicola und Werner geleitet wird. Sie sind ein überraschendes Paar. Beide lieben Katzen und setzen sich so sehr für diese Tiere ein, dass sie ihnen ihre ganze Zeit widmen. Das ist bewundernswert. Ihr Refugium für Katzen ist sehr groß, bequem und sauber. Wenn man sich in die Zwinger begibt, bemerkt man sofort, dass ihre Tiere gut behandelt werden, und man sieht, dass sich diese sofort nähern, um sich streicheln zu lassen. Die beiden sind seit 1982 auf der Insel und erzählen uns, dass sie in der ersten Woche ihre erste kleine Katze adoptierten, der viele weitere folgten. Inzwischen haben sie ungefähr 150.

Nicola, erzählen Sie uns bitte, wann Sie diese Gesellschaft für Katzen gegründet haben? Im April 2001, aber seit 1992 widmete ich mich der Aufgabe, die wilden Katzen aufzunehmen, die ich gefunden habe. Ich sterilisierte sie, fütterte sie und suchte ein Zuhause für die kleinsten. Am Anfang lebten wir im Süden der Insel. Später kauften wir dieses Landhaus. Zuerst hatten wir 16 Katzen, aber wir brachten immer mehr hierher, bis zu den heutigen Zahlen. Erhalten Sie irgendeine finanzielle Unterstützung, um so viele Tiere zu ernähren und zu pflegen? Wir bekommen überhaupt keine offizielle Hilfe. Als wir unsere Einrichtungen fertig gestellt hatten, schrieben wir dem Cabildo und der Gemeinde einen Brief, in dem wir um Unterstützung baten. Sie antworteten uns noch nicht einmal. Wir werden nur von unseren festen Mitgliedern unterstützt, und manchmal erhalten wir auch Spenden, die aus einem Sack Futter oder etwas Geld bestehen. Wir konnten zum Beispiel den Katzenzwinger dank der Spende einer Deutschen bauen, die uns fast eine Million Peseten gab. Der Rest des Geldes kam von Twinkle Trust, der englischen Organisation, die zweimal im Jahr nach Fuerteventura kommt, um wilde Katzen zu sterilisieren. Auch Kitz’n’katz in Deutschland schickt uns einen Teil der erhaltenen Spenden, um uns zu unterstützen. Eine weitere Möglichkeit ist, etwas Zeit zur Verfügung zu stellen. Es ist auch eine große Hilfe für uns, wenn uns Leute einen oder mehrere Tage durch ihre physische Unterstützung helfen, weil wir dadurch

weniger Kosten haben, die wir auswärts bezahlen müssen. Wir sehen, dass Ihr Mann Ihr Interesse an Katzen teilt. Hat er Sie immer unterstützt? Ja, von Anfang an. Seine Familie hatte Hunde. Sein Vater war Hundeausbilder, aber wir begannen auf Mallorca zu arbeiten und hatten von Anfang an Hunde und Katzen. Heute verbringt er seine gesamte Freizeit hier und unterstützt mich bei meiner Arbeit. Werden viele Katzen ausgesetzt? Ja, einige Leute lassen uns Katzen vor der Tür, wir finden aber auch manchmal kleine Katzen in einem Mülleimer oder einen ganzen Wurf in einer Plastiktüte. Manche Leute setzen ihre Haustiere auch am Rand der Autostraße aus, damit sie nicht zurückkommen können. Dabei werden die Tiere oft überfahren, vor allem wenn sie klein sind. Das ist erstens grausam und ist zweitens keine Lösung, denn wenn diese Tiere nicht kastriert werden, wird es in wenigen Monaten wieder Junge geben. Was muss man tun, wenn man eine Katze adoptieren möchte? Man muss einen Vertrag mit einigen Klauseln über Verantwortung und Schutz des Tieres unterschreiben, durch den man sich verpflichtet, es korrekt zu pflegen, die Kosten für die Kastrierung und die Impfungen zu

übernehmen, die schon durchgeführt wurden und sehr billig sind. Wenn der Kater noch sehr jung ist, wird die Kastrierung durchgeführt, wenn es das richtige Alter dafür erreicht hat. Es ist sehr wichtig, dass die Personen, die irgendein Haustier adoptieren, sich bewusst sind, dass sie die Verantwortung für das Tier übernommen haben und es nicht nur aus einer vorübergehenden Laune aufnehmen. Es ist ein weiteres Familienmitglied! Um unseren Lesern einige interessante Angaben zu machen, erzählen wir ihnen, dass das Refugium außer den Einrichtungen, die aus großen und kleinen Zwingern für verschiedene Bedürfnisse bestehen. Das Refugium verbraucht monatlich ungefähr 2.500 Kilo Trockenfutter, 1.400 Dosen Katzenfutter für erwachsene Katzen und ungefähr 500 Dosen mit Futter und ungefähr 50 Kilo Trockenfutter für Katzenjungen. Dazu kommen die Kosten für den Tierarzt (schwere Fälle und chirurgische Eingriffe), die 1.500 bis 2000 € im Monat betragen. Jo Hammer – Fotógrafo y autor del libro Atlantura

«Las montañas de Fuerteventura ejercen sobre mí un magnetismo casi mágico» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Alemán de origen y un enamorado de esta isla, este fotógrafo profesional y estudioso de la culturas ancestrales de Fuerteventura, se involucra tanto en la búsqueda de señales y restos arqueológicos (casi ha desarrollado un pequeño museo), que finalmente decide escribir un libro de nombre Atlantura. ¿Cómo surge la idea de escribir este libro? Independientemente de la belleza de las playas, las montañas de Fuerteventura ejercen sobre mí un magnetismo casi mágico, lo que me lleva a recoger y buscar ciertas piedras y formas en las laderas de las montañas que me hacen pensar que no son obra de la naturaleza. Los dibujos que presentan estas piedras a pesar del escepticismo de algunos miembros del Cabildo a quien les mostré estos hallazgos- son tan definidos e intencionados que suscitan cada vez más mi interés, por lo que acabo consultando con un geólogo que está bastante de acuerdo con mi teoría de que pudieron pertenecer a la cultura de los antiguos «mahos». He dedicado diez años a recoger, analizar y catalogar todos estos hallazgos y finalmente a resumir mi teoría final en el libro Atlantura.

Observamos, por las fotos que tiene con Ud., que además de las piedras talladas, hay cantidad de imágenes de montañas y de sombras… Sí, como fotógrafo comencé ha realizar fotos que en muchas ocasiones, al revelarlas en mi estudio, observaba que las hendiduras en la roca o ciertas sombras incidiendo sobre ellas daban como resultado rostros, figuras y otras formas igualmente sorprendentes. De todo esto, junto con muchas de estas fotos, hablo en mi libro. Muchos de estos símbolos están relacionados con las religiones extendidas por toda Europa, donde la madre tierra es la fuente de divinidad y poder y está a su vez representada por la «diosa», no por el «dios masculino» que en la actualidad adoramos en casi todas las culturas. Efectivamente en los orígenes del la humanidad, es la «diosa», madre y fértil, símbolo de adoración, que luego es desbancada por la imagen masculina. Sí, de ella hablo en este libro y de los muchos vestigios que hay en Fuerteventura de esa época, en que el poder tanto religioso como político, estaba en manos de mujeres que dirigían la sociedad de entonces. El hombre representaba el guerrero y era la lucha y la defensa de los poblados, pero la dirección política y religiosa reposaba en las mujeres y normalmente pa-

saba de madres a hijas. Este orden social, lo encontramos de forma muy parecida en otros países de Europa y sobre todo en Grecia, donde los oráculos, quie-

«Fuerteventura’s mountains have an almost magical magnetic effect on me» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Of German origins and in love with the island, this professional photographer and researcher on Fuerteventura’s ancestral culture has been so deeply involved in the search of signs and archaeological remains (he has almost created a small museum), that he finally decided to write a book named Atlantura. How did you get the idea of writing this book? Apart from the beauty of Fuerteventura’s beaches, its mountains have an almost magical magnetic effect on me, which brings me to gather and search for certain stones and shapes on the mountain sides that I think were not made by nature. The carvings on those stones – despite the scepticism of some Cabildo members who I showed my findings to – are so defined and intended that I became more and more interested in them, and ended up showing them to a geologist who agreed with my theory that they could belong to the culture and the ancient «mahos». I have spent the past ten years gathering, analysing and recording all those findings and finally summing up my final theory in this book called Atlantura. On the photos you brought, we can see that in addition to carved Stones, there are quite a few images of mountains and shadows… Yes, I started taking pictures and very often, after printing them, I would notice that the cracks in the rock or some shadows on them would make out a face, a body shape and other shapes just as surprising. «Die Berge von Fuerteventura haben für mich eine fast magische Anziehungskraft» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Es stimmt, dass am Anfang der Menschheitsgeschichte die Göttin, eine fruchtbare Mutter, verehrt wurde und später von dem männlichen Bild verdrängt wurde. Ja, in meinem Buch spreche ich darüber und über die zahlreichen Spuren, die es auf Fuerteventura aus dieser Zeit gibt, in der sich sowohl die religiöse als auch die politische Gewalt in den Händen der Frauen befand, die die damalige Gesellschaft regierten. Der Mann war ein Krieger, der für den Kampf und für die Verteidigung der Dörfer zuständig war, aber die politische und religiöse Herrschaft wurde von den Frauen ausgeübt und normalerweise von den Müttern an die Töchter weitergegeben. Die Formen dieser Stein sind – trotz der

Skepsis einiger Mitglieder des Cabildo, denen ich diese Funde gezeigt habe - so klar und beabsichtigt, dass sie mich immer mehr interessieren. Deshalb habe ich einen Geologen um Rat gefragt, der mit meiner Theorie, dass diese Steine Reste der Kultur der alten «Mahos»

Wir haben ihre Fotos angesehen und festgestellt, dass außer geformten Steinen auch zahlreiche Aufnahmen von Bergen und Schatten zu sehen sind… Ja, als Fotograf habe ich begonnen, bei zahlreichen Anlässen Fotos zu machen. Nachdem ich diese in

meinem Labor entwickelt hatte, stellte ich fest, dass die Felsrisse oder gewisse Schatten auf diesen aussahen wie Gesichter und Figuren und andere ebenfalls überraschende Formen aufwiesen. All dies erkläre ich in meinem Buch, in dem auch viele von diesen Fotos zu sehen sind. Viele dieser Symbole sind auch mit den in ganz Europa verbreiteten Religionen verbunden, für die die Mutter Erde eine Quelle der göttlichen Macht war, die durch eine „Göttin» dargestellt wurde und nicht durch einen „männlichen Gott», der heute von fast allen Kulturen verehrt wird.

MÁS DE 3.500 ESCOLARES VISITAN LA XXII FERIA INSULAR DE ARTESANÍA EN ANTIGUA

La concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento de Antigua obsequia a cada escolar con una gorra conmemorativa de la Feria Insular de Artesanía. Niñas y niños de todos los tamaños han visitado la Feria Insular de Artesanía, con rostros espectantes, dispuestos a recibir sorpresas y dejarse sorprender. Los artesanos de la Feria, como maestros pacientes les han mostrado sus trabajos artesanales, explicándoles su origen, y su utilidad hoy día. «Hay que felicitar la actitud de los artesanos, que lejos de cansarse por la numerosa y continua visita de los niños, les retenían un ratito más para poder hacerles una demostración práctica de cómo las manos pueden tener la magia de transformar el barro en vasijas, el mimbre y la palma en cestas y canastos, el hilo en calados, la lana en mantas, o descubrir que al fundir un cristal surge un perenqué», afirma con entusiasmo la concejal de Cultura y Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Antigua, Dolores González García. «Esta XXII Feria Insular de Artesanía es una reunión de multitud de oficios artesanales, con artesanos provenientes de todas las islas del archipiélago», y añade González García, «es una Fiesta de la artesanía para quien la visita, y también para el artesano que ve su trabajo valorado y compensado también, por las ventas que finalmente obtenga». La concejal de Cultura y Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Antigua, Dolores González García señaló que dos son las reivindicaciones principales que le han transmitido los artesanos, «fomentar la venta del producto artesanal, y crear una cantera de aprendices, a través de talleres en los municipios que aseguren un futuro al oficio». La asistencia prevista por la Organización durante este viernes, supera las 5.000 personas, teniendo en cuenta, que sólo la visita de los Centros de Educativos de Fuerteventura, supera los 3.500 niños. Durante la tarde de hoy, habrá una numerosa afluencia de visitas de los Centros de Mayores de los municipios, además de los colectivos y asociaciones culturales y sociales. A partir de las 18:00 horas del viernes se celebró el Encuentro Folclórico con los mayores de la Isla, participando las rondallas del Centro de Mayores de Gran Tarajal, de Antigua, Pájara, y de la Asociación Cultural «La Herradura Majorera». Y a las 20:00 horas comienzó el Torneo masculino y femenino de Bola Canaria en el Campo de Bolas del Estadio Municipal de Antigua.

The Fair’s hand craft makers, like patient teachers showed them their craft and explained its origins and current use. «We can congratulate craft makers on their attitude, who were anything but tired of the numerous and constant visits from children and kept them interested with demonstrations on how hands can magically transform clay into vases, wicker and palm leaves into baskets, thread into embroidery, wool into blankets or discover that by melting glass we can obtain a lizard», enthusiastically says the Culture and Tourism Councillor of Antigua, Dolores González García. «This 22nd Island Craft Fair is the meeting point for a multitude of hand craft activities, with craft makers coming from all the archipelago», Ms. González García added also that «it is a craft Fair for all that are present and also for the craft makers who see that their work is appreciated and rewarded when their creations are sold». The Culture and Tourism Councillor of Antigua’s Ayuntamiento, Dolores González García indicates that the craft makers transmitted two main requests, «to promote hand craft objects sales and create a apprenticeship network, through workshops in municipalities that would ensure the future of the profession». Das Amt für Kultur der Gemeinde von Antigua schenkt jedem Schüler eine Kappe zur Erinnerung an die Inselmesse für Kunsthandwerk. Mädchen und Jungen aller Größen haben mit erwartungsvollen Gesichtern die Inselmesse für Kunsthandwerk gesehen und waren bereit, sich überraschen zu lassen. Die Kunsthandwerker der Messe zeigten den Schülern wie geduldige Lehrer ihre Arbeiten und erklärten deren Ursprung und wofür diese heute nützlich sind.

«Wir müssen die Kunsthandwerker zu ihrem Verhalten beglückwünschen, denn sich ließen sich von den ständigen Besuchen zahlreicher nicht Kinder ermüden, sondern widmeten diesen ihre Zeit und zeigten ihnen, wie Hände auf magische Weise Ton in Gläser, Korbgeflecht und Palmblatt in Körbe, Fäden in Stickereien und Wolle in Decken verwandeln können oder zu entdecken, dass wenn man Glas schmilzt ein Kunstwerk entsteht», erklärt die Beauftragte für Kultur und Tourismus der Gemeinde von Antigua, Dolores González García, begeistert. «Diese XXII. Inselmesse für Kunsthandwerk ist ein Zusammentreffen von zahlreichen Kunsthandwerkerberufen, an dem Kunsthandwerker von allen Inseln des Archipels teilnehmen», und González García fügt hinzu, «es ist ein Fest des Kunsthandwerkes für die Besucher, aber auch für die Kunsthandwerker, die sehen, dass ihre Arbeiten geschätzt werden und sie ihre Arbeiten auch verkaufen können «. Los vecinos de Triquivijate colaboran con la concejalía de Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Antigua para ubicar el nombre y el lugar de los topónimos empleados antaño en la localidad. La concejalía ha ubicado aproximadamente 30 monolitos de madera con los topónimos que hacen referencia a la historia de la zona, o a la descripción verbal empleada por los vecinos de Triquivijate. Entre los topónimos se encuentra «La cuesta del tío Alfonso», «Las Bermejas», «El Lomo», «El Brasil», «El Cortijo» indicando un casa grande de familia pudiente, «La Cruzada» indicando un cruce de caminos muchos años antes que se construyera la carretera, «Los Terreros» que señala una zona donde descansaban

THE AYUNTAMIENTO PUT SIGNS UP WITH THE ANCIENT NAMES OF STREETS AND AREAS OF TRIQUIVIJATE

Triquivijate’s neighbours collaborated with the Environment Council of Antigua’s Ayuntamiento indicating the ancient names and their location used in the village. The Council has put in place about 30 wooden signs showing the names that refer to the area’s history or the local name used by the locals of Triquivijate. Some of the names used are for example «La cuesta del tío Alfonso», «Las Bermejas», «El Lomo», «El Brasil», «El Cortijo» indicating the large house of a powerful family, «La Cruzada» indicating crossroads a long time before the road was built, «Los Terreros» for an area where hundreds of camels that carried white limestone used to rest, or «La era del cuarto» where various families from Triquivijate used to get together to go through the harvest and store it in a room as well as their tools.

La presentación de la oferta turística del municipio de La Oliva en la Feria del Turismo y del Tiempo Libre de Bilbao, Expovacaciones, que ha tenido lugar esta mañana, «ha sido todo un éxito», según el concejal de Turismo, Hanna Souweileh y ha contado con una amplia cobertura mediática. A la presentación, cuya maestra de ceremonias ha sido una conocida presentadora de Bilbao TV, han acudido los medios más representativos, tanto a nivel nacional, como autonómico y local. El concejal destaca la excelente acogida a la oferta turística del municipio, no sólo por parte de los medios de comunicación, sino por parte de todos los representantes con los que ha tenido ocasión de reunirse, Travelplan, club de vacaciones, Soltour, Iberojet, viajes Marsans, viajes El Corte Inglés, Turavia, etcétera. El objetivo de la Concejalía es aprovechar la mejora de la conectividad entre Bilbao y Fuerteventura para captar clientes del norte de la península, ya que además de AirEuropa, Spanair ofrece, aunque más recientemente, vuelos directos a Fuerteventura. Hanna Souweileh ha presentado los proyectos de futuro del municipio para el turismo, como la mejora de las infraestructuras, los servicios, el proyecto «La Oliva 2020», destinado a la planificación, gestión y promoción turística del municipio de La Oliva, la reubicación de la oficina principal de Turismo en una zona de mayor tránsito, la ampliación de la cantidad de playas con bandera azul, la rehabilitación y embellecimiento del casco histórico de Corralejo, y el inventariado, marcado y posterior guía de senderismo y la rehabilitación de la estación de guaguas de Corralejo, entre otros.

WIDE MEDIA COVERAGE OF LA OLIVA’S MUNICIPALITY PRESENTATION DURING THE BILBAO FAIR

The presentation of the tourist offer of La Oliva’s municipality during the Tourism and Leisure Fair of Bilbao, called Expovacaciones, was a complete success according to the Tourism Councillor, Hanna Souweileh and benefited from a wide media coverage. The presentation, hosted by a well-known TV presenter from Bilbao, got the attendance of the most representative media on national, autonomous and local levels. The Councillor is confident that all those promotional actions «will achieve the desired objectives and will bring the best results for La Oliva’s municipality, which is what everyone wishes for».

Die Präsentation des touristischen Angebotes der Gemeinde von La Oliva auf der Messe für Tourismus und Freizeit von Bilbao, Expovacaciones, über die in den Medien viel berichtet wurde, fand heute Vormittag statt und war nach Aussage der Beauftragten für Tourismus, Hanna Souweileh „ein großer Erfolg». Bei der Präsentation, deren Zeremonienmeisterin eine bekannte Moderatorin von Bilbao TV war, waren die wichtigsten nationalen, regionalen und örtlichen Medien anwesend. Die zuständige Politikerin betont, dass das touristische Angebot der Gemeinde nicht nur von den Medien sehr gut aufgenommen wurde, sondern von allen Vertretern, mit denen sie sich treffen konnten. Zu diesen gehörten Travelplan, Club de vacaciones, Soltour, Iberojet, Viajes Marsans, Viajes El Corte Inglés, Turavia usw. Das Amt für Tourismus beabsichtigt, die Verbindungen zwischen Bilbao und Fuerteventura zu verbessern, um Kunden aus dem Norden Spaniens zu gewinnen, da Air Europa und seit kurzem auch Spanair Direktflüge nach Fuerteventura anbieten. LA CONCEJALÍA DE COMERCIO Y MERCADOS ORGANIZA «DE TAPAS POR LA OLIVA»

El Ayuntamiento de La Oliva está invitando a participar a todos los bares y restaurantes del municipio en los actos de celebración del Día de Canarias -del 22 de mayo al 7 de junio- ofreciendo una o varias tapas típicas canarias a un módico precio (entre 1 y 2 euros, con vino o cerveza incluido) durante esas fechas. Esta iniciativa, «De tapas por La Oliva», que formará parte del programa en conmemoración del Día de Canarias tiene por objeto enriquecer la celebración de una fecha tan señalada con una degustación que favorezca el consumo de los productos y creaciones que los establecimientos deseen ofrecer a sus clientes: tapas, pinchos, montaditos, canapés, etcétera.

THE COMMERCE AND MARKETS COUNCIL ORGANISES «DE TAPAS POR LA OLIVA»

La Oliva’s Ayuntamiento is inviting all bars and restaurants of the municipality during Dia de Canarias celebrations – from 22nd May until 7th June – to offer various typical tapas at reduced rates (between 1 and 2 euros, with wine or beer included) during those dates. This initiative called «De tapas en La Oliva» (having tapas in La Oliva), that will be included in the commemoration programme of Dia de Canarias, aims to improve the celebration of such an important event with samplings that will promote consumption of products and creations that establishments wish to offer their clients: all kinds of tapas and other food to pick at. The Ayuntamiento has created a small guide with plans of towns and villages of the municipality where the location of establishments that take part in this initiative will also be displayed.

Die Gemeinde von La Oliva lädt alle Bars und Restaurants der Gemeinde ein, an den Akten zur Feier des Tages der Kanaren teilzunehmen – die vom 22. Mai bis zum 7. Juni stattfinden – und in dieser Zeit einen oder mehrere typische kanarische Tapas zu einem niedrigen Preis (1 bis 2 Euro einschließlich Wein oder Bier) anzubieten. Diese Initiative „Tapas-Tour durch La Oliva», die zu dem Programm der Feierlichkeiten des Tages der Kanaren gehört, beabsichtigt die Feier dieses wichtigen Tages mit Kostproben zu bereichern, durch die der Verbrauch von Produkten und Gerichten gefördert wird, die die Lokale ihren Kunden anbieten möchten: Tapas, kleine Spieße, Schnitten, Kanapees usw. Die Gemeinde wird einen kleinen Führer mit Karten der Orte der Gemeinde erstellen, wo die Standpunkte aller an dieser Initiative beteiligten Lokale angeben werden.

A MUY BUEN RITMO LOS TRABAJOS EN PÁJARA DE LAS 17 OBRAS DEL ‘PLAN E’

El Ayuntamiento informó de que ya han comenzado los trabajos de las 17 obras que el consistorio presentó al Ministerio de Administraciones Públicas (MAP) para desarrollar en el marco del Plan Español para el Estímulo de la Economía y el Empleo, conocido como

‘Plan E’ o ‘Plan Zapatero’. La inversión global de estas actuaciones en la localidad, que deberán estar terminadas antes de que finalice el presente año, supera los 3,4 millones de euros. Los 17 proyectos acometidos en Pájara son muy importantes ya que mejorarán el sistema de abasto de agua potable, del alumbrado público, de reformas y mejoras en centros culturales y parques públicos e infantiles, así como en instalaciones deportivas, guarderías y edificios públicos. En Pájara casco destaca el avance en los trabajos de acondicionamiento y rehabilitación parcial del Centro Cultura, del camposanto y del Parque Infantil ubicado en la trasera de la sede del Ayuntamiento.

de Canarias en la puesta en marcha del proceso de renovación de la flota de guaguas del servicio público insular ‘Thiade’, incorporando un primer vehículo ecológico. La inversión asciende a unos 230.000 euros, que se destinarán a la adquisición de una guagua de 12 metros de longitud y que funciona con gas, lo que reduce la contaminación atmosférica en alrededor de un 90% frente a una convencional, mientras que la contaminación acústica baja hasta un 50%. La financiación de esta inversión procede de iniciativas destinadas a la difusión de vehículos ecológicos, y la intención que tenemos es aprovecharlas en la medida de lo posible y que su importancia sea mayor de forma progresiva entre el total de vehículos de la flota.

THE ISLAND’S PUBLIC SERVICE OF TRANSPORT INCORPORATES AN ECOLOGICAL BUS

The Ayuntamiento made it known that work had started on the 17 projects that were presented to the Ministry of Public Administrations (MAP) within the Spanish Plan of Stimulation of the Economy and Employment known as «Plan E» or «Plan Zapatero». The global investment for those project in the area that should be completed before the end of the year, represents over 3,4 million euros. The 17 projects assigned in Pájara are very important as they will improve the system of drinking water supply, public lighting, improvement and refurbishment of cultural centres, public parks and children’s playgrounds, as well as sports’ facilities, children’s day care centres and public buildings. The projects seem to be ahead of schedule in Pájara regarding the partial refurbishment of the Cultural Centre, of the cemetery and the children’s playground situated behind the Ayuntamiento.

FORTSCHREITEN DER 17 BAUARBEITEN IN PÁJARA, DIE ZUM ‘PLAN E’ GEHÖREN

Die Gemeinde informierte, dass die Arbeiten der 17 Bauarbeiten schon begonnen worden sind, die der Gemeinderat dem Ministerium für öffentliche Verwaltungen präsentiert hatte (MAP) und die im Rahmen des spanischen Plans für zur Ankurbelung der Wirtschaft und der Beschäftigung durchgeführt werden, der als ‘Plan E’ oder ‘Plan Zapatero’ bekannt ist. Die gesamte Investition für Eingriffe in diesem Ort, die vor Ende diesen Jahres abgeschlossen werden müssen, beträgt mehr als 3,4 Millionen Euro. Die 17 Projekte, die in Pájara durchgeführt werden, sind sehr wichtig, weil sie das System der Trinkwasserversorgung, die öffentliche Beleuchtung verbessern, dazu kommen Restaurierungen und Verbesserungen in Kulturzentren, öffentlichen Parks und Kinderspielplätzen sowie in sportlichen Einrichtungen, Kindergärten und öffentlichen Gebäuden. In der Innenstadt von Pájara muss der Fortschritt bei den Aufbereitungsarbeiten und der teilweisen Renovierung des Kulturzentrums, des Friedhofes und des Kinderspielplatzes hinter dem Rathaus erwähnt werden.

EL SERVICIO PÚBLICO INSULAR DE TRANSPORTE DE VIAJEROS INCORPORA UNA GUAGUA ECOLÓGICA La Consejería de Transportes y Comunicaciones del Cabildo de Fuerteventura, colabora con el Gobierno

The Transport and Communication Council of Fuerteventura’s Cabildo, collaborates with the Canarian Government to initiate the process of renovation of the island’s public services’ fleet of buses called «Thiade» by incorporating the first ecological vehicle. This project represents a 230.000 euros investment that will be used to acquire 12 metre long buses, that run on gas. This means a reduction of the atmospheric pollution of about 90% compared to conventional vehicles, while the acoustic pollution will be reduced by 50%. This investment has been financed by initiatives aimed at promoting ecological vehicles and the objective is to take advantage of them as much as possible and make a big impact on the entire fleet of vehicles.

DER ÖFFENTLICHE INSELDIENST FÜR TRANSPORT VON REISENDEN NIMMT EINEN ÖKO-BUS IN BETRIEB

Das Amt für Verkehr und Kommunikationen des Cabildo von Fuerteventura arbeitet mit der Regierung der Kanaren gemeinsam am Erneuerungsprozess der Busflotte des öffentlichen Inseldienstes ‘Thiade’, in den zum ersten Mal ein ökologisches Fahrzeug aufgenommen wird. Diese Investition beträgt ungefähr 230.000 Euro, die für den Erwerb eines 12 Meter langen Busses ausgeben werden, der mit Gas fährt, wodurch die Luftverschmutzung um ungefähr 90% gegenüber den konventionellen Bussen reduziert wird, während die Lärmbelästigung bis zu 50% sinkt. Die Finanzierung dieser Investition stammt aus Initiativen für die Verbreitung von ökologischen Fahrzeugen, und es wird beabsichtigt, diese so weit wie möglich zu nutzen und ihren Anteil an den Fahrzeugen der Flotte in wachsendem Maße zu erhöhen.

LOS ALUMNOS DE NATURSAVIA APRENDEN A INSTALAR MICROCHIPS IDENTIFICATIVOS EN ANIMALES MARINOS ACCIDENTADOS

Los alumnos del Taller de Empleo y Formación Laboral ‘NaturSavia. Repoblaciones y atención a la fauna’ participaron el pasado mes de mayo en una clase teórico-práctica centrada en la técnica de instalación de microchip en animales marinos, que fue impartida por los técnicos responsables de los departamentos de Biodiversidad y Educación Ambiental de la Consejería de Medio Ambiente del Cabildo. La clase se llevó a cabo haciendo una demostración con un joven ejemplar de tortuga ‘boba’ (Caretta caretta), que tras ser tratada y recuperada en el Zoo Parque de La Lajita -había aparecido enmallada en La Oliva el pasado mes de febrero-, sirvió como ejemplo para que los alumnos pudieran aprender el proceso,

WHAT HAPPENS IN YOUR MUNICIPALITY? desde cómo utilizar la jeringuilla con que se instala el microchip, a manejar el lector de microchips, pasando por manipular el animal en la operación sin infringirle ningún daño. Al finalizar la clase, se llevó a cabo la suelta de la tortuga en la playa de Puerto Lajas. La Consejería de Medio Ambiente del Cabildo, en coordinación con la ULPGC, mantiene un registro de todos los animales marinos recuperados y marcados con microchip que se liberan en Fuerteventura. Esta información se actualiza periódicamente para pasar a formar parte de una base de datos a nivel mundial que permite identificar a los animales marcados, en caso de que aparezcan en cualquier otra parte del planeta. En esta vertiente de Natursavia, los alumnos adquirieron conocimientos sobre la fauna de la isla, técnicas de reconocimiento de aves migratorias, y protocolos de actuación en caso de aparición de fauna accidentada, entre otros. La otra vertiente del taller se dedicó a la formación específica en torno al mundo de la reforestación, lo que comprende el aprendizaje de tareas como reproducción y repoblación forestal, podas, consecución de esquejes, creación de semilleros, acondicionamiento de terrenos para futuras plantaciones, siembra y recolección, recuperación de plantaciones de frutales, labores de saneamiento paisajístico, etc. Natursavia es un proyecto que impulsan el Cabildo y el Servicio Canario, con el objetivo de ofrecer una formación remunerada a residentes en la Isla, en su mayoría desempleados mayores de 45 años, que se encuentran en situación de difícil empleabilidad.

STUDENTS FROM NATURSAVIA LEARN TO FIT MICROCHIPS ON INJURED MARINE ANIMALS

Students of the Employment and Training Workshop «NaturSavia. Re-population and attention to the fauna» participated in May in a theory-practise class on the technique of installation of microchips on marine animals that was animated by technicians from the Biodiversity and Environment Education Departments from the Cabildo’s Environment Council. The class consisted of demonstrations with a young Caretta Cartetta turtle that was treated by the la Lajita Zoo after it was found stuck in some fishing nets in La Oliva in February. The turtle was used as example for students to learn about the process, from using the needle used with the microchip, to manipulating the microchip reader, and manipulating the animal without hurting it. At the end of the class, the turtle was released from the beach of Puerto Lajas. The Cabildo’s Environment Council, together with the ULPGC, keep a register of all marine animals that are

rescued, microchipped and then released in Fuerteventura. This information is regularly updated to be included in a worldwide database that allows them to identify the animals that carry microchips in case they appear somewhere else on the planet. During this part of NaturSavia’s course, students acquired knowledge about the island’s fauna, technical information on how to recognise migratory birds and protocols of action in case of finding an injured animal, and more. The other part of the course was dedicated to specific training regarding the reforestation programme, that includes learning tasks such as forestry reproduction and replanting, pruning, getting cuttings, creating seed beds, preparing terrain for future plantations, sowing and collecting, harvesting fruit, landscaping, etc. NaturSavia is a project promoted by the Cabildo and the Canarian Service that aims at offering remunerated training for residents of the Island, who for most part are unemployed people over 45 years of age that find themselves in a precarious employment situation.

DIE SCHÜLER VON NATURSAVIA LERNEN, AN VERLETZTEN SEETIEREN BESTIMMTE MICROCHIPS ZUR IDENTIFIZIERUNG ANZUBRINGEN Die Schüler des Kurses für Beschäftigung und Berufsausbildung «NaturSavia. für Wiederansiedlung und Betreuung von Fauna» nahmen im Mai an einer theoretischen und praktischen Unterrichtseinheit darüber teil, wie man Microchips an Meerestieren anbringt, die von den verantwortlichen Technikern der Abteilung für Artenvielfalt und Umwelterziehung des Amtes für Umwelt des Cabildo durchgeführt wurde. Im Unterricht fand eine Vorführung mit einer jungen unechten Karettschildkröte (Caretta caretta) statt, die – nachdem sie im Tierpark von La Lajita behandelt und danach freigelassen worden war – im Februar in Maschen verfangen in La Oliva aufgetaucht ist. Sie diente als Beispiel, an dem die Schüler den Vorgang kennenlernen konnten, wie man einen Microchip mit einer Spritze anbringt und wie man das Tier bei diesem Vorgang Operation behandelt, ohne ihm Schaden zuzufügen. Nach dem Unterricht wurde die Schildkröte am Strand von Puerto Lajas freigelassen. Das Amt für Umwelt des Cabildo unterhält in Zusammenarbeit mit der ULPGC ein Verzeichnis aller behandelten mit einem Microchip markierten Meerestiere, die auf Fuerteventura freigelassen werden. Diese Information wird periodisch aktualisiert und in eine internationale Datenbank aufgenommen, durch die ermöglicht wird, die gekennzeichneten Tiere zu identifizieren, wenn sie in irgend einem Teil der Welt auftauchen sollten. In diesem Bereich von Natursavia erwarben die Schüler Kenntnisse über die Fauna der Insel und lernten unter anderem Techniken kennen, durch die man Zugvögel erkennt, sowie Verhaltensprotokolle im Fall von verletzten Tieren. Der andere Teil des Kurses war der spezifischen Ausbildung im Bereich der Wiederaufforstung gewidmet, wozu das Erlernen von Aufgaben wie Wiederbelebung und Wiederaufforstung des Waldes, Beschneidungen, Gewinnung von Stecklingen, Schaffung von Baumschulen, Aufbereitung des Geländes für zukünftige Pflanzungen, Saat und Ernte, Wiederereinführung von Obstbäumen, Sanierungsarbeiten der Landschaft usw. gehören. Natursavia ist ein Projekt, das vom Cabildo und dem kanarischen Dienst gefördert wird, um Anwohnern der Insel eine bezahlte Ausbildung zu bieten, die zum

größten Teil über 45 Jahre alte Arbeitslose sind und Schwierigkeiten haben, eine Arbeit zu finden.

EL SERVICIO DE ASISTENCIA PSICOLÓGICA A LA MUJER COMIENZA A PRESTARSE EN GRAN TARAJAL Y MORRO JABLE

La Consejería de Asuntos Sociales, Sanidad, Consumo e Inmigración del Cabildo de Fuerteventura, ha descentralizado el servicio de asistencia psicológica dependiente del Servicio de Atención a la Mujer, al comenzar a prestarlo también en Gran Tarajal y Morro Jable, en ambos casos dentro de las instalaciones de las Oficinas de Atención al Ciudadano. La medida busca simplemente acercarnos más al ciudadano y evitarles, en la medida de lo posible, los grandes desplazamientos por carretera, o al menos acortarlos. Esta misma política ya se había venido aplicando en otros servicios de la Consejería e incluso con centros de día y centros ocupacionales y ahora se extiende a las usuarias del Servicio de Atención a la Mujer que requieren de atención psicológica. El servicio se prestará a partir de ahora los martes en Morro Jable y los miércoles en Gran Tarajal.

THE SERVICE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSISTANCE TO WOMEN STARTS OPERATING IN GRAN TARAJAL AND MORRO JABLE The Council for Social Matters, Health, Consumers and Immigration of Fuerteventura’s Cabildo has decentralised the service of psychological assistance depending from the Service of Assistance to Women, when it started operating also in Gran Tarajal and Morro Jable within the premises of Citizens’ Attention Services. This service was put in place simply to get closer to citizens and avoid making them travel long distances as much as possible. This politic had already been applied to other services of the Council, to some day centres and occupational centres and it has now extended to users of the Service of Attention to Women who need psychological assistance. The service will now operate on Tuesdays in Morro Jable and Wednesdays in Gran Tarajal.

DER DIENST FÜR PSYCHOLOGISCHE UNTERSTÜTZUNG FÜR FRAUEN BEGINNT SICH IN GRAN TARAJAL UND MORRO JABLE VORZUSTELLEN Die Beauftragte für Soziales, Gesundheit, Verbrauch und Immigration des Cabildo von Fuerteventura hat den Dienst für psychologische Betreuung für Frauen dezentralisiert, so dass dieser jetzt auch in Gran Tarajal und Morro Jable tätig sein wird. An beiden Orten wird er in den Einrichtungen der Büros für Bürgerbetreuung stattfinden. Durch diese Maßnahme wird versucht, sich dem Bürger zu nähern und so weit wie möglich zu verhindern, dass diese lange fahren müssen. Diese gleiche Politik ist schon für andere Leistungen desselben Amtes durchgeführt worden, einschließlich in Tageszentren und Beschäftigungszentren, und wird nun auch auf die Nutzer des Dienstes für psychologische Betreuung für Frauen ausgeweitet. Dieser Dienst funktioniert ab jetzt dienstags in Morro Jable und mittwochs in Gran Tarajal.

«La formación de nuestros profesionales es lo que hace diferente nuestro centro» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Estamos en la clínica dental C.D.E en Puerto del Rosario dispuestos para que su director el Dr. Juan Francisco Rodríguez Mulero nos explique en profundidad las técnicas que les permiten ofrecer implantes en el mismo momento de la extracción, permitiendo así que el paciente salga de su consulta con su dentadura restaurada y con el mínimo sufrimiento. También hemos oído hablar de la cirugía mínimamente invasiva Cuéntenos por favor. Consiste en que una persona que ha perdido toda su dentadura, y tiene muy poquito hueso, -en otras épocas habríamos tenido que hacer un injerto de hueso para poder colocar los implantes- ahora con un software específico para la boca podemos determinar el sitio exacto- con un error de décimas de milímetro- para colocar los implantes. Hacemos primero un estudio radiológico, derivado de la tomografía, y después con el software se escanea y se realiza un férula replica de la boca en un laboratorio en Suecia. Esta férula viene con unas marcas donde nosotros podemos colocar los implantes, lo cual evita abrir la encía y tener que suturar después. Con una mínima herida en la encía, a través de la marca que han enviado, podemos colocar el implante en el sitio donde el hueso es el adecuado e incluso se le puede poner el diente en el mismo momento. Esta operación dura entre 7 y 10 minutos.

Dr. Rodríguez, a su entender ¿cuáles son los elementos diferenciadores que se aportan en su centro, además de lo que ya nos ha explicado? Antes que nada, quisiera hacer hincapié en que la esterilización del material, el tener aparatos de radiografía, etc., nunca pueden servir como elementos diferenciadores, ya que cualquier clínica hoy en día, por ley, tiene todos los recursos de aparatología revisados por Sanidad e Industria que aseguran la correcta esterilización y funcionamiento de los equipos. Dicho esto y contestando a su pregunta, yo diría que como elementos diferenciadores destacaría en primer lugar la formación de los profesionales del CDE.

En mi currículo destacaría muy sucintamente el estar en posesión del título de Licenciado en Medicina y Cirugía por la Universidad de Navarra, el doctorado de Odontología, Master en Implantes y Cirugía Oral, posgrado en Periodoncia y Master en Endodoncia por la Universidad Internacional de Cataluña, siendo en este momento profesor asociado de dicha Universidad. Con esta titulación en Endodoncia microscópica (salvar un diente tratando sus raíces) reconocida por la Universidad Española sólo somos cinco doctores en Canarias. Asimismo he publicado en revistas odontológicas nacionales e internacionales, soy miembro de número de la Sociedad Española de Implantes, de la Sociedad Española de Periodoncia, de la Sociedad de Cirugía Oral y de la Sociedad Española de Endodoncia. En el área de ortodoncia (tratar las malas posiciones de los dientes con la ayuda de aparatos fijos o móviles) colabora con nosotros el ortodoncista Dr. Omar Maximino Milia , con práctica en Madrid y Lisboa y profesor del Master de Ortodoncia de la Universidad del Sur del Missisipi. El Dr. Omar Maximino Milia también dirige un master privado en ortodoncia. El área de gestión e higiene bucodental, está en manos de la higienista y diplomada en turismo, Mercedes Granda. Gracias a ella también podemos atender pacientes de habla inglesa y francesa. Nuestra auxiliar Jessica Armas está perfectamente entrenada en la cirugía implantológica y endodóntica así como en esterilización, mantenimiento de equipamiento dental y dispensación de materiales dentales a los odontólogos. En segundo lugar, somos diferentes por las instalaciones y la tecnología que aportamos.. Somos la única clínica en Fuerteventura con quirófano para implantes y cirugía oral. También disponemos de instalaciones para realizar tratamientos a niños y adultos con anestesia por sedación intravenosa. La sedación la realizan anestesistas altamente cualificados y es muy interesante para los pacientes muy nerviosos. PUBLIREPORTAJE

Asimismo, usamos como rutina en nuestros tratamientos de endodoncia y cirugía el microscopio. También en ésto somos pioneros en Fuerteventura, y de los pocos centros en Canarias que lo utilizan. Disponemos también de láser, muy interesante en tratamientos de caries sin anestesia, en cirugía de implantes, en blanqueamientos dentales, etc… En el área de implantes, estamos ya ofreciendo la posibilidad de poner el implante y el diente fijo sobre el implante en la misma sesión en algunos casos y a las 48 horas en otros. Esto se debe a que en nuestra experiencia de 20 años; los pacientes a la espera de colocar los dientes fijos sobre los implantes, con dentaduras de «quita y pon», pasan verdaderos calvarios durante ese tiempo de espera. ¿Podemos decir entonces que la clínica C.D.E ofrece servicios que cubren todos los campos de la odontología? Así es. También hacemos tratamientos periodontales, extracción de cordales incluidos, empastes estéticos, prótesis fijas y removibles, carillas estéticas y disponemos de financiación hasta 4 años. Adaptamos dentro de lo posible nuestros horarios para facilitar al máximo la atención a nuestros pacientes. Mi propósito cuando hace 7 años me instalé en Fuerteventura procedente de Asturias fue captar un sector de población que se desplaza a las islas capitalinas en busca de tratamientos dentales de alta calidad. Hoy en día, estamos muy orgullosos de haber conseguido darnos a conocer y de que un gran número de pacientes confíen en nosotros para sus tratamientos especializados sin necesidad de desplazarse a otras islas. «Our professionals’ training is what makes our Centre so different» FMHOY - Fuerteventura We are in the dental clinic C.D.E. in Puerto del Rosario ready to speak with the director Dr. Rodríguez who is going to explain to us as much as possible about techniques that allow patients to get an implant at the same time as the tooth extraction, which means that patients leave from their appointment with their dentition repaired and with minimal pain. We have also heard about non invasive surgery. Can you tell us more about it please. It is when people have lost all their teeth and have very little bone – previously we would have had to insert bone before being able to fit the implants – nowadays with a specific dentistry software we can determine the exact place – with an error margin of a tenth of a millimetre – where to put the implant.

There are only five of us in the Canaries who have this degree in Microscopic Odontology (save a tooth by treating the root) which is recognised by the Spanish University. I have also published articles in national and international magazines and I am a member of the Implants Spanish Society, of the Periodontology Spanish Society, of the Oral Surgery Society and the Endodontic therapy Spanish Society. Regarding orthodontics, Doctor Omar Maximino Milia, is a specialist in orthodontics with a practice in Madrid and Lisbon and is a professor of Master in Orthodontics of the University of South Mississippi. This mould comes with some marks indicating where we can insert the implants which avoids having to open the gum and sowing it back up later. With a small cut in the gum through the mark that has been sent with the mould we can fit the implant in the place where the bone is most suited and the tooth can also be inserted at the same time. «Unser Zentrum unterscheidet sich dadurch, dass wir unsere Fachkräfte ausbilden» FMHOY - Fuerteventura Wir befinden uns in der Zahnklinik C.D.E in Puerto del Rosario, um uns von dem Direktor Dr. Juan Francisco Rodríguez Mulero genau die Techniken erklären zu lassen, durch die man Implantate direkt bei der Extraktion einsetzen kann, so dass der Patient mit seinem wiederhergestellten Gebiss die Klinik verlässt und so wenig wie möglich leiden muss. Wir haben auch von der minimalinvasiven Chirurgie gehört. Erzählen Sie uns bitte etwas darüber. Das ist eine Behandlung für eine Person, die alle ihre Zähne verloren und nur sehr wenig Kieferknochen hat: Vor einiger Zeit hätten wir ein Knochentransplantat machen müssen, um die Implantate anzubringen. Heute können wir mit einer spezifischen Software die genaue Stelle bestimmen, um die Implantate einzusetzen, wobei Fehler im Bereich von Zehnteln eines Millimeters möglich sind. Wir führen zuerst eine Röntgenuntersuchung auf der Basis einer Tomographie durch, und danach wird mit der Software gescannt und Nachbildung des Mundes in einem Labor in Schweden ausgeführt. Diese Schablone bekommen wir mit einigen Markierungen, die anzeigen, wo wir die

Implantate einsetzen können. Dank dieser Technik müssen wir das Zahnfleisch nicht aufschneiden und danach wieder zunähen. Durch die Markierungen, die wir zugeschickt bekommen, können wir die Implantate an der richtigen Knochenstelle einarbeiten und sogar gleichzeitig den Zahn einsetzen. Dabei entsteht nur eine kleine Verletzung im Zahnfleisch. Diese Operation dauert 7 bis 10 Minuten. Dr. Rodríguez, wodurch unterscheidet sich Ihr Zentrum noch, außer dem was Sie uns schon erklärt haben? Zuerst möchte ich betonen, dass die Tatsache, dass das Material sterilisiert wird und dass wir über Apparate für Röntgenaufnahmen usw. verfügen, heute nichts besonderes mehr ist, da jede Klinik gesetzlich dazu verpflichtet ist, nur medizinische Geräte zu verwenden, die vom Gesundheitsamt und der industriellen Qualitätskontrolle überprüft worden sind, und die die korrekte Sterilisierung und das Funktionieren der Ausstattung zu gewährleisten. Dieses vorangestellt, werde ich Ihre Frage beantworten: Ich würde sagen, dass wir uns vor allem durch die Ausbildung der Fachleute des CDE unterscheiden. In meinem Curriculum würde ich kurz hervorheben, dass ich den Universitätsabschluss in Medizin und Chirurgie der Universität von Navarra, den Doktortitel in Zahnmedizin, einen Master für Implantologie und Kieferchirurgie, ein Graduiertenstudium in Paradontologie und einen Master in Endodontie (Wurzelbehandlung) der

internationalen Universität Kataloniens verfüge, wo ich zurzeit assoziierter Professor bin. Auf den Kanaren sind wir insgesamt nur fünf Ärzte, die einen von der spanischen Universität anerkannten Titel in mikroskopischer Endodontie (Rettung eines Zahns durch Wurzelbehandlung) besitzen. Außerdem habe ich für nationale und internationale zahnmedizinische Zeitschriften geschrieben, bin ordentliches Mitglied der spanischen Gesellschaft für Implantate, der spanischen Gesellschaft für Paradontologie, der Gesellschaft für Kieferchirurgie und der spanischen Gesellschaft für Endodontie. Im Bereich der Kieferorthopädie (Behandlung von schlechten Positionen der Zähne durch Hilfe von festen oder beweglichen Apparaten) zählen wir auf die Mitarbeit unseres Kieferorthopäden Dr. Omar Maximino Milia, der in Madrid und Lissabon praktiziert hat und Professor des Masterstudiengangs für Kieferorthopädie der Universität Mississippi Süd ist. Dr. Omar Maximino Milia leitet auch einen privaten Masterstudiengang für Kieferorthopädie. Der Bereich für Mund- und Zahnhygiene wird von der Hygienikerin und Inhaberin eines Tourismusdiploms, Mercedes Granda, geleitet. Mit ihrer Hilfe ihr können wir auch Patienten auf Englisch und Französisch behandeln. Unsere zahnärztliche Helferin Jessica Armas leistet perfekte Arbeit bei der Implantatchirurgie und Endodontik sowie bei der Sterilisation, Instandhaltung der Ausstattung, und bei der Ausgabe von Zahnmaterial an die Zahnärzte. Außerdem unterscheiden wir uns durch die Einrichtungen und die Technologie, über die wir verfügen.. Wir sind die einzige Klinik auf Fuerteventura mit einem Chirurg für Implantate und Kieferchirurgie. Wir verfügen auch über Einrichtungen, um Kinder und Erwachsene mit Anästhesie durch intravenöse Sedierung zu behandeln. Die Sedierung wird von hochqualifizierten Anästhesisten durchgeführt und ist für nervöse Patienten sehr interessant. Wir verwenden bei unseren endodontischen Behandlungen und in der Chirurgie auch das Mikroskop als Routine. Auch darin sind wir Pioniere PUBLIREPORTAJE

auf Fuerteventura und auf den Kanaren, wo es nur wenige Zentren verwenden. Wir verfügen auch über Laser, der sehr interessant für die Behandlung von Karies ohne Anästhesie, bei der Implantatchirurgie, beim Bleichen der Zähne usw. ist. Im Bereich der Implantate bieten wir schon die Möglichkeit an, das Implantat und den festen Zahn in der gleichen Sitzung und in einigen Fällen 48 Sunden später einzusetzen. Wir können dies dank unserer 20-jährigen Erfahrung. Die Patienten, die darauf war ten, dass ihnen feste Zähne auf Implantate gesetzt werden, haben während dieser Wartezeit ein wahres Martyrium zu erleiden, mit ihren provisorischen Gebissen. Können wir folglich sagen, dass die Klinik C.D.E sämtliche Leistungen im Bereich der Zahnmedizin bietet? Ja das stimmt. Éxito de participación en el II Torneo Anjoca Golf Cup FMHOY - Fuerteventura Más de 130 jugadores de 7 nacionalidades distintas participaron en la II edición del Torneo Anjoca Golf celebrado en Fuerteventura Golf Club el pasado 9 de mayo, desde las 9 horas, momento en que el director del campo Alberto Díaz hizo sonar el aviso de inicio. La primera previsión de asistentes se vio superada por lo que se estableció una segunda jornada para dar cabida a todos los inscritos, llegados a la isla desde distintas procedencias. Patrocinadores, deportistas, medios de comunicación y representantes institucionales celebraron un año más, esta iniciativa que fomenta el deporte y el turismo en las islas canarias. La entrega de premios tuvo lugar en el patio canario del Hotel Elba Palace Golf, sede de la Casa Club del campo y se celebró con un cóctel que se prolongó hasta las 17:00 horas.

Tres veces al día o antes de acostarse para favorecer el sueño. Frutos Los copos o semillas de avena prensadas se pueden cocinar o macerar para tomar como alimento, en caldo vegetal o en bebida de soja, como reconstituyente en convalecencias. EJEMPLOS DE UTILIZACIÓN La avena como recurso de aplicación externa Preparando una decocción o infusión concentrada de paja de avena se hacen baños en caso de reumatismo, o gota, ligeras parálisis musculares, enfermedades hepáticas y afecciones cutáneas. Se cree también que estos baños son eficaces como sedantes para personas nerviosas. (Cañigueral, Vila y Wichtl. 1996). Los extractos de avena se usan externamente en forma de cremas, o jabones, o aceites, para el cuidado de pieles secas, sensibles o irritadas.

THERAPEUTISCHE HEILSTOFFE UND INDIKATIONEN Aus der Er fahrung der traditionellen Medizin Erfahrung Traditionell wurde der Hafer wegen seines hohen Gehalts an Nährstoffen als Stärkungsmittel während der Genesung und als Beruhigungsmittel bei nervösen Erschöpfungszuständen verwendet. Er wurde auch als Diuretikum verwendet, und um Nierenkoliken zu lindern. Die Phenole des Hafers haben eine in Experimenten nachgewiesene Wirkung als Antioxidans. Da die Haferkleie Gallensäuren verbraucht, zwingt sie den Organismus, Blutcholesterin zu verbrauchen, wodurch dessen Spiegel sinkt. Die Haferkleie kann auch den Blutzuckerspiegel verbessern. In der äußerlichen Anwendung hat das Mehl aus Haferkorn eine aufweichende, feuchtigkeitspendende und dekongestive Wirkung und lindert Juckreiz.
