Fuerteventura im Mittelpunkt des X. Campus für Ethnologie und Folklore

Die zehnte Ausgabe des Campus für Ethnologie und Folklore der Universität von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, eine Initiative, die im Rahmen der 28. Ausgabe des Internationalen Folklorefestivals „Muestra Solidaria de los Pueblos“ in Villa de Ingenio stattfand, veranstaltete im Juli ein breit gefächertes Programm, das dieses Mal verschiedene Schwerpunkte hatte, die mit dem Erbe und dem kulturellen Fußabdruck der Insel Fuerteventura zusammenhängen. Man konnte sich bis zum 17. Juli kostenlos für die zehn Veranstaltungen anmelden, die im Plenarsaal des Rathauses von Ingenio stattfanden, wobei die Sitzplätze begrenzt waren. In diesem Jahr standen verschiedene Vorträge auf dem Programm: der Vortrag von Professor Marcial Morera mit dem Titel ‘Fuerteventura im Ursprung des kanarischen Spanisch’ und der Vortrag von Professor José Miguel Perera, der in den zwei Jahrzehnten seit der Veröffentlichung der Zeitschrift Bienmesabe einen Blick auf Fuerteventura geworfen hat. Auch der Theologe Felipe Bermúdez bezog sich in seiner Rede auf den ‚Rancho de Animas de Tiscamanita‘, während Juan Valentín anlässlich des 50-jährigen Bestehens der Folkloregruppe von Tetir seine Aufmerksamkeit auf die Folklore von Fuerteventura richtete. Ramírez befasste sich in seinem Vortrag auf dem Campus mit der Rolle des Sängers Esteban Ramírez de León und dessen Verbindung zur Folkloregruppe von La Oliva. Der Campus für Ethnologie und Folklore wurde von Manuel Pérez, Professor an der ULPGC, und Yeray Rodríguez, Dichter, Sänger, Verseschreiber und Doktor der hispanischen Philologie an der ULPGC, geleitet und von David Castellano, dem Präsident der Chöre und Tänze von Ingenio und Leiter des oben erwähnten internationalen Festivals, koordiniert. Die Universität von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Vizerektorat für Kultur, Sport und soziale Aktivitäten des Campus) führt diese Initiative bereits seit zehn Jahren durch und widmete ihr Programm im vergangenen Jahr der Insel La Palma. Der Campus wurde von der Stadtverwaltung von Ingenio, dem Vorstand der Asociación Cultural Coros y Danzas de Ingenio gesponsert und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Cabildo von Gran Canaria und dem Kanarischen Institut für kulturelle Entwicklung der Regierung der Kanaren durchgeführt. Das Programm zielt darauf ab, ein Forum zum Nachdenken über die Dimension der Volkskultur auf den Kanarischen Inseln zu bieten und den Austausch von Erfahrungen und Ideen zu fördern, so dass es zu einem Treffen wird, bei dem die kulturellen Elemente, die die Grundlage der traditionellen Kultur im weitesten Sinne bilden, aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht betrachtet werden.

Der Campus für Ethnologie und Folklore war eine der zahlreichen Aktivitäten des Programms der 28. Ausgabe des Internationalen Folklorefestivals „Muestra Solidaria de los Pueblos“ (solidarische Ausstellung der Völker), das von der Asociación Cultural Coros y Danzas de Ingenio organisiert wird und das auf den Kanaren zu einem Festival von touristischem Interesse erklärt wurde. Die diesjährige Ausgabe findet vom 14. Juli bis zum 1. August statt. Das Angebot reicht von ethnografischen Ausstellungen über internationale kulinarische Verkostungen, Tanzworkshops und einen Fotowettbewerb bis hin zu musikalischen Darbietungen von Gruppen aus den Ländern, die zu dieser Ausgabe eingeladen wurden: Portugal, Kenia, Kolumbien und Indonesien, aber auch aus Spanien und von den Kanarischen Inseln.

Die große Abschlussveranstaltung des Festivals, bei der die diesjährigen Teilnehmer auftreten werden, findet mitten in der wunderbaren Natur des Néstor Álamo Parks im Zentrum von Ingenio statt.

The tenth edition of Ethnography and Folklore Campus of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, an initiative that is organised as part of the 28th edition of the International Folklore Festival Villa de Ingenio called “Muestra Solidaria de los Pueblos”, took place in July, and offered a varied programme which dealt on some aspects linked to the heritage and cultural traces of the island of Fuerteventura.

The free registration for this campus was open until July 17th, for the ten sessions that will take place, with a limited number of available spaces, in the Ayunta- miento of Ingenio.

This year, the programme included various conferences such as the conference animated by professor Marcial Morera, called “Fuerteventura and the origins of the Spanish language in the Canaries”, or that of professor José Miguel Perera, who, after publishing the magazine Bienmesable for two decades, proposed a point of view concerning Fuerteventura. Also, the theologian, Felipe Bermúdez spoke about the rancho de ánimas of Tiscamanita, while Juan Valentín, spoke about the 50th anniversary of the existence of Tetir’s

Folkloric Group, concentrating on Fuerteventura’s folklore. Popular music was the chosen subject for professor Silvestre Ramírez during his intervention, who spoke about the importance of the singer Esteban Ramírez de León and his influence in La Oliva’s Folkloric Group.

The Ethnography and Folklore Campus was managed by Manuel Pérez, professor at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and Yeray Rodríguez, poet, improviser, writer and Doctor in Spanish Philology at the ULPGC, and coordinated by David Castellano, president of Coros y Danzas (Choirs and Dances) of Ingenio and director of this international festival. The ULPGC has been celebrating this initiative for a decade, which was dedicated to the island of La Palma last year.

The main sponsors of the campus were the Ayuntamiento of Ingenio, the management of Ingenio’s Cultural Association Coros y Danzas and the collaboration from the Cabildo of Gran Canaria of the Canarian Institute of Cultural Development of the Canarian Government. Its programme aims at promoting a space for reflection about the popular culture of the Canaries, promoting exchanges of experiences and ideas. This is an encounter to reevaluate the cultural identity elements which are the base of traditional culture from a rigorous academic point of view.

The Ethnography and Folklore Campus was one of the many activities contained in the programme of the 28th edition of the International Folklore Festival Villa de Ingenio called “Muestra Solidaria de los Pueblos” organised by the cultural association Coros y Danzas de Ingenio, an event that was declared Celebration of Tourism Interest in the Canaries, and which took place from July 14th until August 1st, with initiatives that included ethnographic exhibitions, international food tastings, dance workshops, a photography contest and musical acts from groups of the countries invited for this edition: Portugal, Kenya, Columbia and Indonesia, who participated along with the Spanish and Canarian groups. The main show of the closing event of the festival included the groups which participated in this edition, and took place in the magnificent natural setting of the Néstor Álamo Park, in Ingenio.
