Caleta de Fuste acogió con éxito el ISPS HANDA Spanish Blind Open 2023

El deporte adaptado y, más en concreto, el golf, se dio cita en el Fuerteventura Golf Club de Caleta de Fuste con el ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open, un encuentro que tuvo lugar el 10, 11 y 12 de junio pasado y que reunió a 26 participantes junto a sus guías de 6 nacionalidades diferentes: Austria, España, Estados Unidos, Irlanda, Reino Unido y Holanda. La complejidad de esta tipología de juego adaptado reside en la labor sinérgica que realizan jugador y guía, siendo un deporte a priori visual y que alcanza diferentes categorías comprendidas entre B1 y B4, siendo B1 el mayor grado de ausencia de visión y B4 el menor.

Entre los diferentes jugadores que figuraron en lista, destacó la participación de Alejandro de Miguel, campeón del mundo de la categoría B1, así como John Eaking, campeón del mundo en la clasificación general y ganador del certamen ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open 2023.
Cabe mencionar la participación de Malcolm Elrick, el único golfista residente en Fuerteventura y miembro de I.B.G.A (Asociación Internacional de Golf para Ciegos), quien ha participado en diversos torneos internacionales tales como el Campeonato de Inglaterra, el Campeonato de Europa, el Open de Japón y el Open de Italia.
En el año 2023 contó con inscripción en el Open de Sudáfrica y en el Campeonato del Mundo.

Adapted sport and, more precisely, golf, was present at the Fuerteventura Golf Club, in Caleta de Fuste, with the ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open, an encounter that took place on June 10th, 11th and 12th and gathered 26 participants and their guides, from 6 different nationalities: Austria, Spain, the United States, Ireland, Great Britain and Holland.
The complexity of this type of adapted game comes from the joint effort of the players and their guides, as this is a visual game. There are various categories that go from B1, which is the highest level of blindness to B4, the lowest.
Amongst the different players, there was Alejandro de Miguel, world champion in the B1 category, as well as John Eaking, world champion in the general ranking and winner of the ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open 2023 contest.
We should point out the participation of Malcolm Elrick, the only golfer resident in Fuerteventura and member of the International Blind Golf Association (IBGA), who has participated in various international tournaments such as the English Championship, the European Championship, the Open of Japan and the Open of Italy.
For 2023, he is registered to participate in the Open of South Africa and the World Championship.

Der Behindertensport, genauer gesagt Golf, kam im Golfclub von Fuerteventura in Caleta de Fuste zum ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open zusammen, einem Turnier, das am 10., 11. und 12. Juni stattfand und an dem 26 Teilnehmer und ihre Begleiter aus sechs verschiedenen Ländern teilnahmen: Österreich, Spanien, Vereinigte Staaten, Irland, dem Vereinigten Königreich und Holland.
Die Komplexität dieser Art von angepasstem Spiel liegt in der synergetischen Arbeit von Spieler und Betreuer, da es sich um einen a priori visuellen Sport handelt, der verschiedene Kategorien zwischen B1 und B4 umfasst. Der höchste Grad der eingeschränkten Sehkraft ist B1 und der niedrigste B4. Unter den verschiedenen Spielern auf der Teilneh- merliste müssen Alejandro de Miguel, Weltmeister in der Kategorie B1, sowie John Eaking, Weltmeister in der allgemeinen Klassifizierung und Gewinner des ISPS Handa Spanish Blind Open 2023, hervorgehoben werden. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Teilnahme von Malcolm Elrick, dem einzigen Golfer, der in Fuerteventura lebt und Mitglied der I.B.G.A (International Blind Golf Association) ist und der an verschiedenen internationalen Turnieren wie der englischen Meisterschaft, der Europameisterschaft, den Japanese Open und den Italian Open teilgenommenhat.
2023 ist er für die South African Open und die Weltmeisterschaft angemeldet.
