ashington, D.C., situated along the banks of the Potomac River between Virginia and Maryland, is a showcase of national treasures. The City’s streets are a patchwork of museums, historical landmarks, art galleries, monuments, government buildings, restaurants, shops and cafes. Easy to get to and full of sights and attractions, the City is naturally a popular destination for tourists and, of course, one of the gayest places in the country! The Dupont Circle neighborhood is most closely tied to the City’s LGBT population. It became known as a center of gay culture, just like Greenwich Village in New York and the Castro in San Francisco. The center of LGBT life has moved east to Logan Circle /14th Street / U Street corridor. Not surprisingly, the politically charged environment lends the City an air of distinction and a penchant for activism. Washington’s gay think-tank is one of the most committed and savvy LGBT communities and is home to some of the most powerful and visible gay men and lesbians in the country. It is also home to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF). If you find you’ve had your fill of history and culture and choose to sample a different type of excitement you’ll find some big name attractions just outside the City. Busch Gardens, National Harbor (MD), Water Country USA and Six Flags America (to name a few) are only a short ride away. The chances are slim that a trip to Washington D.C. will let you down.

a Fresh, healthy, delicious, creatively prepared food. A friendly, intimate atmosphere. Fine imported wines. Tapas and Large Plates. Al fresco dining.
Rehoboth Beach ehoboth Beach was founded in the 1870’s as the site of a religious camp. Following the development of a railroad and boardwalk in the 1900’s, Rehoboth Beach evolved into an active gay friendly resort town. Today, it stands as a year-round gay resort, with more than 200 gay-owned restaurants, shops, lodgings and nightspots. Embracing the northernmost part of the Delaware shore, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach are only a short two-and-a-half hour drive from Washington D.C. and Baltimore, three hours from Philadelphia and four hours from New York City. Thought of as the Mid-Atlantic region’s answer to Key West or Provincetown, Rehoboth boasts two gay beaches with plenty of people watching and a lively boardwalk full of arcades, eateries and bars. Many of the restaurants and attractions are surprisingly affordable, and there’s a great mix of cheap, elegant and trendy. This means you can grab a hot dog, stop at a crab shack, ride the bumper cars or spend the day at a spa and sit down for a lavish dinner. If you’re looking for a more active outing, you can head to one of the nearby parks for hiking trails, fishing, camping and kayaking. On nearby Route 1, you’ll find a haven for outlet shopping (FYI, there’s no sales tax in Delaware!).

estaurants, shops and fun abound in Maryland’s largest city. The tall downtown buildings form an impressive skyline over a restored and dynamic waterfront. The Inner Harbor has become one of America’s hottest travel destinations, boasting major attractions such as the National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center, Camden Yards Stadium Complex, and the Baltimore Maritime Museum. On top of all these exciting things to do and see, Harborplace and the Gallery at Harborplace feature over 100 unique shops and more than 50 eateries and restaurants. There is also live entertainment offered on the waterfront. Visitors will want to see the new, trendy, upscale, Harbor East area for dining and shopping. Easy to get to from downtown by the FREE Circulator Bus which also continues on to historic Fells Point and recently redeveloped Canton. Baltimore has a rich historic past with many picturesque areas such as Hampden, which have changed little since the 19th century. While under the siege of the British during the War of 1812, Fort McHenry served as the inspiration for our National Anthem by Francis Scott Key. Enhancing Baltimore’s historic charm are many recreational areas such as Druid Hill Park with its 574 acres and the Baltimore Zoo.
