BE GREATER

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IS A PLACE WHERE STUDENTS CAN REACH THEIR GREATEST POTENTIAL. Our holistic approach to teaching and learning cultivates the development of the whole child: intellectually, physically, and spiritually. There’s no shortage of opportunities for students to excel inside and outside of the classroom. Extensive, high-quality co-curricular opportunities allow students to pursue their passions and interests conveniently on campus. The GAC experience is transformative. While each student’s path is different, all have the advantage of achieving their goals in a faith-filled community with shared values. At GAC, students have the resources and support needed to develop their gifts, expand their faith, and uncover their purpose as they strive to BE GREATER.

“GAC’s focus wasn’t just academic excellence but instructing students in the right way to go about all work. By attending a school that emphasizes the process rather than just the result, GAC students ultimately have a foundation for stronger, lasting success.” Eric Schultz, Class of 2005 Harvard University Graduate, Founder & CEO of Relic Pictures

BE INNOVATIVE. Innovation at GAC spans beyond technology to influence curriculum and classroom design. Indoor and outdoor flexible spaces inspire students to write, draw, speak, present, and dream everywhere on campus. Our award-winning faculty pioneer new teaching methods to encourage discovery and enact

deeper learning across disciplines. Students actively explore real-world issues and challenges through collaborative projects and local and global learning excursions. GAC students graduate prepared for top-tier colleges with the skills needed for jobs that don’t yet exist.

Teachers and students enjoy flexible classrooms and spaces equipped with the tools and resources needed for active learning and enhanced engagement.

STEM classes

“AP chemistry at GAC greatly prepared me for very rigorous scientific classes in college. I found I had been held to a much higher standard than my college peers were. Additionally, being surrounded by passionate people in academic clubs helped foster my passion and curiosity for knowledge, which helped sustain me through my degree and now my career.” Michelle Buckner, Class of 2009 University of Chicago Graduate Trade Support at Gelber Group LLC

BE CURIOUS. Learning is most effective when fueled by curiosity. When GAC students are intrigued by a subject, they’re met with a full slate of opportunities inside and outside the classroom to dig deeper into specific topics and areas of interest. Students ask questions, search for answers, solve problems, and explore new ideas as they develop into independent thinkers.

STEM Reimagined Our multifaceted approach to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) emphasizes learning by doing. Students engage daily in creative and critical thinking as they assemble drones, maintain our edible forest, tinker with control boxes and microprocessors, design earthquake-resistant bridges, and more!

Middle School students design, prototype, and create something out of nothing in MakerSpace, a class that encourages exploration and provides students with critical 21st century skills needed for STEM fields.

“Whether I showed an interest in fine arts or football, there was a teacher or coach who inspired me to dig deeper. It’s amazing the breadth of different disciplines GAC offers. No matter what I wanted to explore, there was a classroom or club I could join to participate in that interest. Once I was in college, I felt I already had a touchpoint for what I wanted to major in and where I wanted to go with my life. The groundwork had already been laid at GAC.”

BE CREATIVE. GAC celebrates and nurtures student creativity through an extensive array of visual and performing arts programs. Opportunities abound for aspiring artists, musicians, writers, dancers, filmmakers, and photographers to engage their creative side and develop their God-given talents. Students of all ages have the space to

explore and create during the school day or after school through private instruction and enrichment programs like our Discovery Activities, School of Ballet, and School of Music.

Teachers encourage students to realize their creative potential and hone their skills in an environment that inspires and cultivates imagination.

60+ athletes signed to play college sports in the past 3 years

“Athletics (and arts) at GAC are often referred to as co-curricular. We do not see them as “extras”, but rather a critical part of the total development of each individual student. When a student finds an area they are passionate about pursuing, we use the opportunity to help ignite their growth in all areas. I often say as the football coach, I get to teach my kids one of their favorite subjects – one they love so much they often study it all day Saturday and on Monday nights. I can use that to teach lessons about life and leadership outside of the academic realm.” Tim Hardy Athletic Director Head Varsity Football Coach Parent of 3 GAC students

BE STRONG. The role of athletics at GAC is not to simply help a young person improve in running, catching, or shooting, but to use the opportunities that arise during training and competition to teach valuable lessons, such as facing adversity, working as a team, and displaying sportsmanship on and off the field. More

impressive than our renowned athletic facilities are our highly-qualified coaches who walk alongside our athletes to help them reach their goals. They are dedicated to developing the whole student by making them stronger in wisdom, stronger in stature, and stronger in favor with God and man.

Student athletes experience a wide range of benefits from participating competitively in sports including developing close and long lasting friendships with others who share common interests.

20,000+ service hours completed by student body each year

“Mission trips helped me see and believe that the Father is doing incredible work all over the world and planted the seed in me that maybe, just maybe, God would lead me overseas one day to serve Him. I must say that those missional experiences I had throughout my GAC career helped grow me into the position that I serve in today.” Chris Moore, Class of 2005 Lipscomb University Graduate Missionary with Hellenic Ministries

BE CONNECTED. GAC affords students every opportunity to grow spiritually and socially. Students nurture their relationship with Christ through Bible studies, daily chapel, retreats, and mission trips. They use their skills and talents to serve others locally and abroad. Our students join clubs, cheer on the Spartans, attend art exhibits, watch drama performances, and participate in many other

community events. No matter their passions or pursuits, students can cultivate friendships and connect at GAC. Additionally, we’re blessed with parents who strengthen our community by volunteering, leading on-campus Bible studies, and participating in parent organizations.

GAC students are empathetic leaders driven to make a difference. They are known and supported by their teachers and peers as they strive to reach their personal and academic goals.
