BACHELOR DEGREES: BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE
Bachelor degrees at Galveston College require a minimum of 120 credit hours for completion. The Bachelor of Applied Science is designed for students who have an Associate of Applied Science in a particular field of study. TRANSFERABLE DEGREES: ASSOCIATE OF ARTS AND ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE
Associate degrees at Galveston College require a minimum of 60 credit hours for completion. Each program will satisfy the requirements for the first two years of a four-year degree. Suggested programs of study for the Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees parallel the first two years required for Bachelor of Arts and/or Bachelor of Science degrees at senior colleges and universities. However, because degree requirements at senior colleges and universities vary, students should select courses with the assistance of a Galveston College Counselor or Faculty Advisor. ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE The Associate of Applied Science Degree is awarded to students who successfully complete an approved curriculum for a two-year technical or vocational program. Each program must include a minimum of 15 credit hours of general education courses with at least one course taken from each of the following areas: Humanities/Fine Arts, Behavioral/Social Sciences, and Natural Science/Mathematics. In addition, evidence of computer literacy must be demonstrated.
