Welcome to Origins 2021! We are so happy for this opportunity to come together again after so long to do that thing we enjoy so much, play games and spend time with our community. The past year and a half since the last Origins has been a difficult one for many of us, which is why we are so grateful to everyone participating in this year's convention. The GMs, volunteers, exhibitors, and sponsors. But most of all we want to thank you, the attendee for spending the week with us and having fun! Origins Game Fair 2021 is a bit different than a normal year. For one thing, it's being held in the Fall instead of Summer, and the forecast is for a gorgeous low to mid 70-degree weather. Consider taking a few moments to get outside and enjoy the nice weather between events. Maybe take a stroll to the North Market for lunch and take it to Goodale Park to enjoy surroundings. On Saturday evening October 2nd, just outside our doors, the Short North Gallery Hop is happening from 4-l0pm with art galleries staying open later. You can see local artists and hear some live music while you grab dinner between playing games. Another cool feature of moving our show to the Fall is the opportunity to partner with GDEX to co-host the show with them. GDEX is a local game developer conference that focuses primarily on video games, but has recently expanded to include more tabletop game development programs. There is a lot of synergy between our two audiences and we look forward to the cool seminars, video game tournaments, and games they will be offering this week! Along with new programming, we are bringing back many of the cool things you expect at Origins including our dealer hall with more than 200 booths, lots of Open Gaming space to play with friends both old and new! We have expanded both the Artist Alley and Origins Library with nearly twenty authors participating in person and online. How are you handling COVID-19 safety?
We are following CDC guidelines, local mandates, and GCCC requirements for the convention. Face masks are required to be worn correctly at all times at the convention. Per CDC guidelines For those with a medical reason, we will allow a scarf, loose face covering, or full-face shield instead of a face mask. We will enforce the mask polic y with a s ingle warning followed by badge confiscation and removal from event.

Are weapons permitted at Origins?
Real weapons and weapons resembling real weapons are not allowed at Origins. Cosplay weapons must be cleared by convention security and peace-bonded. V isit the Security Office direct I y outside of the Exhibit Hall in the Main Concourse. Replica weapons purchased in the Exhibit Hall must be immediately secured in the purchaser's vehicle or hotel room.

What is peace-bonding?
We utilize zip ties to mark items as safe and inspected. Once we have zip-tied your item, you are not permitted to remove it. Security wi11 have zip ties on hand at the show. V isit the Security Office directly outside of the Exhibit Hall in the Main Concourse to peace-bond your item.
Where do I go if I'm hurt?
For minor issues, p I ease head to the Show Office, Room C1 72 or you can find an Origins staff mem ber or Origins volunteer for assistance.
Are wheelchairs available?
The convention center has a limited number of manual wheelchairs available. They are stored at Public Safety Command. If you (or someone you know) needs a wheelchair, contact Public Safety directly at (614) 827-2547. A member of Public Safety will bring the wheelchair to you. You will be asked to exchange a photo ID for the wheelchair, which will be returned to you when you are done using the chair.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY Origins Game Fair is a family-friendly conveniton. Keep th is in mind with regards to your personal conduct.
COSTUME & WEAPONS Uniforms of current active service members are not allowed as costumes. These include uniforms for th e police, active military, security guards, deputies, fire marsh als, paramedics, etc. No real weapons or functional props are allowed at Origins. All weapon replicas must be cleared by convention security and peace bonded. Visit th e Security Office directly outside th e Exh ibit Hall in th e main concourse.
ALCOHOL & ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES Possession or consumption of alcoh olic beverages outside of auth orized areas prohibited. Illegal substances at Origins will not be tolerated. Violators will be asked to Ieave the bui Iding and charges may be fi Ied for p rosecution.
SMOKING Smoking, including th e use of electronic smoking devices, is not allowed inside any of th e convention facilities, including public areas and participating hotels. Smoking and th e use of electronic smoking devices is allowed outside in designated smoking areas. Cigarette butt litter is a hazard to th e environment. Please do your part to keep Columbus clean and dispose of your trash in the proper receptacles.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS Origins Game Fair Badges are not transferable and cannot be cancelled after purch ase for this year's event. Refunds for event tickets are given for cancelled events or up to 24 hours prior to sch eduled event time. If th e event is cancelled, th e event ticket must h ave th e signature from staff at th e Event HQ in your area to be refunded.

Events How do I participate in an event? Pre-registration for badges, ribbons, and event tickets is available online before the show. Pre-registered attendees will receive an email with check-in instructions. This email includes a barcode that can be presented at any pre-registration counter. Simply scan the barcode at the pre-registration kiosk and collect it after printing. Why do I need event tickets? Most scheduled events have limited seating and can only accommodate a specific number of players. People who purchased event tickets will be seated first. If there are remaining seats at the start of the event, players with ribbons (if applicable) will be seated, then people with generics will be seated. What are generics and how do I get them? Generics are tickets that can be used to buy a seat in an event after players with purchased event tickets have been seated. Generic tickets will be available at Registration. Origins Game Fair 2022 will be the final year you may use any plastic token generics that you still have from prior years. How do refunds work? Refunds for event tickets are given for canceled events or up to 24 hours prior to scheduled event time. If the event is cancelled, the event ticket must have the signature from staff at the Event HQ in your area to be refunded.
Families Are kids welcome at the show? Absolutely! As a family-friendly show, Origins welcomes gamers of any age. Children twelve and under can attend the show for free with an accompanying guardian. Children thirteen and up must be registered for a badge. Do you provide child care? No, parents are responsible for looking after any children In their care while attending Origins Game Fair. Do you have a private breastfeeding area? The convention center provides a designated area for nursing (by South Meeting Rooms) and two family restrooms (behind A210 and South Cafe & Marketplace).

Anthony R odriguez is a Mexican-American Miniature Painter and artist who has been working for the last 8 years in the industry. He picked up a brush for a couple of years when he was a teen but in his early 20's his then-girlfriend asked him to paint some minis for her family's upcoming D&D Campaign. The passion was reig nited and he dove back in headfirs t. In 20 1 6 he decided to pursue Miniature Painting full time and traveled to Europe to learn from the best and compete in the European Painting scene. After having some success there he returned to the USA and started taking commissions and working construction part-time. After about 6 months he had enough work to paint full time. He continued to show and compete in the USA and has been fortunate enough to win awards in some of the most prestigious shows around the USA. He also feels lucky enough to be invited to travel and teach at various conventions around the USA and has been doing so ever since! Hi, my name is Allen Panakal. You may know me from conventions, art shows, or my award-winning work as the artist and writer of the Ancient Ones: a space opera mixed with fantasy elements. Think "Star Wars" meets "Lord of the Rings." People call my artwork "fracturism," short for "fractured impressionistic realism." Blending my background in g raf fiti and graphic desig n with my I ove for synth wave and outrun style, I create illustrations that build worlds in completely new ways.

ORIGINS ONLINE Where will Origins TV be streamed? Follow Ori gins TV on Twitch to be notified of new videos we add leading up to the show! What platform will you be using for games and how much will it cost? G Ms and even t or ganizers can choos e what platform t hey are most comfortable with to run their games. Some of the platfo rms being used are: Roll20, Zoom, Tab le topia, Tabletop Simulator, Fantasy Grounds, etc. Their c hosen platform will be listed in the event informatio n to help attendees know which platform they will need to play or demo th e game. There will be a normal charge of $2 per 2 hours (roun de d up ) for most events, but like at O rigins Game Fair, GMs and Event Organizers can upcharge for premium experiences. These charges mus t be approved by GAMA before being added to the schedule. Do I need a badge to participate in Origins Online? You d o not ne ed a badge to watch the Origins TV livestream program on Twitch or shop in the virtual exh ibit hall. You on ly need a b adge if you wish to play online game s during the show.
