Basic Life Support Program Organised by NH

T

he basic services that can be expected from a hospital or a multi specialty hospital is treating the in-coming patients with utmost care and attention and ensure proper diagnosis and treatment is given and the patient is sent with pleasantries. Money is the order of the day in many private or corporate hospitals. But, few hospitals, which can be counted on the fingers, consider this as a service oriented industry to the community. One of them is Narayana Multi Specialty Hospital in sector 3, HSR layout. Narayana Hrudayalaya, now called as Narayana Health has been organizing and conducting several health related programmes and initiatives in and around HSR sin cove a year. One of these programmes which is regularly conducted once a month is ‘Basic Life Support’, which educates a common man on his duties in treating a person in need of emergency treatment before the patient is taken to a

hospital. This gesture or knowledge could actually save a patient in distress, else could prove fatal. In fact, recently, NH, HSR, had a major role in the Diabetes Awareness Walk, on 14th November, from BDA complex along with Lions and Lioness Club of HSR. It had its part in the

contribution towards creating awareness on Diabetes. It is also taking part with its share of educating parents of the school children of Chaitanya School on the 5th of December on Nutrition. Dr. Wing Comm (retd) Naga Subramanian, Faculty Director, NH, HSR,

briefed on the role of a common man when a person is seen to faint on a road or a neighbor collapsing and no immediate medical attention on hand. The importance of knowledge on such situations is enormous. Dr. Loria Rehman, MBBS, (MEM), took the gathering through the process with several narrations of video graphic representations and instances of the immediate requirement of emergency treatment to patients who could be seen anywhere, be it in a public place or in the neighbourhood or in a kith or kin’s place. The two-hour session was absorbing both theoretically and practically (by using mannequins) during which time even an ignorant could learn the intricacies of finding the pulse and heart beat of the affected person and restore breathing CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) methods which can only be of temporary assistance till such time medical help arrives. The ways and techniques of mouth to mouth breathing along with

the pumping of heart wit use of hands are really useful and handy. The entire narration was done in such a manner the ladies and gentlemen who partook in the programme were engrossed and had their clarifications cleared. Such was the interest that the doctor along with her colleague, Mr. Jackson, in charge of emergency medicine, could evince from the audience of around 30 persons, including senior citizens in and around HSR layout. Ashwin(s) Series for India

Tailor-made pitches to suit the Indian team favours spinners to wreck havoc on the visiting south Africans to hand them a humiliating defeat in less than 3 days again in the third Test played at Nagpur. The first Test match too ended in three days, while the second Test at Bangalore was washed out after the first day’s play. The Indian captain was all smiles having won his first series in home soil and giving India its first series triumph in over 11 years. The Proteas had not lost a series since 9 years. Man of the match Ashwin did the maximum damage while Amit Mishra ably assisted him. Both the spinners accounted for all the ten wickets in SA’s II innings. This only went to prove the supremacy India still has and is dominant over other nations so far as the spin department is concerned. While the visitors may be annoyed with the fact that the pitch was a turner right from the day one and would blame for having prepared one, the hosts would only be happy and rejoicing over the nature of pitches prepared, which is only the correct way to deal. As Virat Kohli and Ashwin rightly said that they too face such humiliations when they tour countries like England, South Africa, Australia and West Indies, who always ensure that the pitches suit them with pacy, bouncy tracks. With one more Test to go and Ashwin already pocketing 24 wickets in this series and has become the leading wicket taker in 2015, both him and India have another chance to have a go at the South Africans to hand them another defeat in perhaps less than 3 days to prove that they are the kings of spin play. Organic vegetables and fruits. In few months down the line we will also introduce Organic groceries and further enhance with all possible products. The main highlight of our process is that we as a team bring to you fresh one - day old harvested product. There is no compromise done with respect to this. Our farms or farmer groups are certified with National and International Standards to comply with organic standards. We have a special quality team which performs checks by random visit to the farms and makes sure that all the standards are met. Also frequent residue tests are performed to ensure the purity of the products. Thereby we guarantee 100% organic products. Q. Why are Organic foods important to the people? A. Our nature is designed with an environment friendly ecological production system which becomes the source of our consumption. Few decades ago, all the cultivation was done in natural ways. Slowly, pesticides and chemicals usage came in to force, which created a widespread boom in the whole world. The products are being served as a poison to the people rather than the original quality. And this then created diverse effects in the whole economy by being against our natural system.

Increase in the number of diseases, declined immortality rate, birth defects etc are a few of the examples which are all the result of these revolutions. Here comes the importance of organic foods which are grown with no artificial pesticides, no herbicides, no hormones and no non - healthy growth promoters or food irradiation. This also encourage soil and water conservation and reduce pollution. The techniques of growing products are made completely natural and thereby we take the cultivation method back to the golden era. Be organic to ensure a safer and healthier world. Q. How are your prices compared to other Non Organic Products? A. Prices are slightly higher than the non-organic product’s price but not too much, if you value the benefits of Organic products. It is approximately 25%-35% more. Q. What is your message to your customers? A. Be alarmed on what you get. Be awakened on what you eat. Demand quality products for the money you pay. This supports the future of your well-being and also inspires farmers to cultivate organically. You deserve the best. If wealth is lost something is lost but if health is lost everything is lost. So our message to you is "Eat healthy, Stay Healthy. Live longer. Let us build a healthy generation together ".
