April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. For the last three years, Wilcox County Family Connection has placed "Pinwheels for Prevention" in Pineview, Pitts, Rochelle and Abbeville. We place one pinwheel for each substantiated case of child abuse and neglect in our county. This year we have had a few to join us in our efforts to promote this worthy initiative. We would like to extend a special thank you to all those that have joined forces in showing support and encourage others to join the cause. Fitzgerald, GA— Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will be holding an American Heart Association certification for first responders in the community or workplace on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 8:00 – 1:00. Develop skills to effectively assess and maintain life from the critical minutes immediately following an emergency until the arrival of emergency medical services personnel. The course covers Adult First Aid, CPR and AED. A two-year certification card is awarded at completion. The cost is $55.
