The poor planning of the GuySuCo has implications for next year as well. With increased rainfall soon after the crop’s commencem e n t , tillage and planting was significantly curtailed. GuySuCo data indicates that just 266 hectares of land were tilled during the first crop, representing 19.9% of the budget. Whereas 575.2 hectares of land were planted, representing 35% of the budget.
