Hail to the chief After three decades as the head of the Jackson Fire Department, Dave Formanek steps down to spend more time with family by Nancy Jappe Leader staff writer TOWN OF JACKSON - After 30 years and as of Oct. 31, Dave Formanek will no longer be the fire chief for the town of Jackson in Burnett County. Formanek started in the position when he was 19 years old, but knows now that this is the time to go on with other things in his life. “I want to spend more time with my family, my kids,” Formanek said in a telephone interview Tuesday, Oct. 12. “I have wonderful, active kids, academically and athletically. The more active they get, the more things there are for me to attend and things that I would like to go to. There are general things, business meetings, training, county and town meetings that I really should go to as
