Paulette Huggins quietly slipped into her eternal rest on Saturday January 9th after a lengthy illness. Paulette was born August 8, 1958 to Turner Debrow Sr. and the late Marion Debrow. Paulette was reared in Chesapeake, Virginia, educated in the Chesapeake School System and a 1976 graduate of Great Bridge High School. While in high school, Paulette enjoyed various extracurricular activities, especially softball. She was competitive, confident, and a team sport. Paulette accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Weeping Mary Missionary Baptist Church. As a life-long member of New Weeping Mary, she sang in the Jr. Choir, was a Jr. Usher, and served on various committees of the church. She thoroughly enjoyed the Word of God and attended regularly until failing health prevented her. Paulette was often called the queen of the family as she often took the lead and urged others along. She was one of the sweetest people one would ever want to meet. She will be remembered for her love of stirring up meals in the kitchen. She often tried different recipes and at times created her own. She was truly a family-oriented person who was kindhearted, humble, and a hard worker. Her granddaughters were the apple of her eye. Paulette loved people and would help anyone she could. She was always willing to take in others and make them a part of her family. Paulette was preceded in death by her son, Nathaniel (Lil Huggy) Huggins, sister, Ithelia D. Debrow and brother, Demetrius Debrow. She leaves to celebrate her life, granddaughters, Breeanna M. Huggins and Arianna (Tela) J. Huggins of Chesapeake, Virginia.; Two Sisters, Diane Tillett ( John) and Denise Debrow, both of Chesapeake, Virginia; a brother, Turner Debrow, Jr. (Catrina) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Two daughters, who were to her as adopted daughters, Alisha Watts Gleen (Kalvin) of Danville, Virginia, and Kiera Watts of Hampton, Virginia and adopted son, Joshua Watts of Murray, Utah. Special friends, Kim Watts of Danville, Virginia, Jackie Sivels of Chesapeake, Virginia, Lorraine Barlow and Consuela Gregory of Chesapeake, Virginia and other nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
Yesterday, I lost my grandma, my bestfriend, my ace, my actual ride or die. Nothing could have ever prepared me for this…my heart is so broken and I am so overwhelmed with fear and sadness. I wanted her around forever, I simply was not ready to let go. Grandma…I can’t believe you had to go so soon, I can’t believe i’m never going to be able to kiss and hug you again, or tell you all my stories while you tell me and Ari we’re being “too grown” . This one hurts…it hurts so bad. I’m so mad I have to sit here and write this about you. You were so beautiful, a beautiful heart, a beautiful soul, and a beautiful person. I love you so much grandma, forever and more…

Farewell
Farewell, my family I am tired and need my rest I must go with God For my soul was truly blessed. Do not weep and mourn Because you don’t see anymore. I ‘ll be waiting to meet you In that reunion on the other shore.
Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair; Perhaps you sent a floral spray, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words as any friend could say; Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, We thank you so much, whatever your part. A special thank you is extended to Dr. Robert Camp, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Comfort Care Home Health and Hospice.
