You guys rock! Pueblo Vista B&G Club staff are always amazing :-)
An idea box for Clubs. They do lots of things, but my son wants to
We absolutely love the experience our kids get at the boys & girls
My 8 year old says: More STEM. My 11 year old would like less structure.
I would like to see the teens doing Arts and Community Service activities. A night event would be nice. Anything to keep them off their phones!
More homework supportsPower Hour during first hour Afterschool. Our daughter used to cry and got anxiety when she couldn’t finish homework at BGC due to the schedule she had to follow (her group was last for homework time). She has an IEP at school and really got behind. Homework should be a priority and first thing to get done before any activity.
More relaxing activities, like meditation, stretching, etc. Kids are tired after school, so reducing structured activities where they have to follow a lot of directions would make it a more relaxing, pleasant experience that is less tiring. Also, having more quiet time and being able to choose what activity they want to participate in, would be great.
Expand the Services! We know some families who are not able to take advantage of these services and would love to!
I don’t know why exactly, but my kids do not enjoy going to the Clubhouse. I think maybe if it was an after school program, there would be classmates and they
I deeply appreciate the staff at the NVLA Boys and Girls Club. Ms. Ivory cultivates an encouraging atmosphere in which students feel comfortable taking risks and solving problems. I would be at a loss without the Club’s afterschool care and feel so fortunate to have such a great place for my children to do things while I am working.
My son isn't the best at communicating about what he is doing at school/at B&G Club. I would appreciate some sort of communication about what the kids are doing in the program. It would be great if that came directly from whoever is watching him and who he is spending time with. I really don't know much about what he does in the program.
More chances to involve parents in building positive behaviors!
Have better communication with the parents and continue doing what makes this program awesome and going on with the program, to help out our
Having winter camps and spring camps AT the school site. The large, mixed age, Clubhouse environment is exclusionary for many children, including my own.
Act a little more funny with the kids. Make them feel that they are In a fun place, especially w/ the little ones. They need affection.
Some of the young staff need more skills with working with kids but your doing a great job!
