OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENT PARENT PERSPECITVES PARENT SURVEY RESULTS
Keep the parents informed regarding our children. Are they being bullied? Are they bullying a peer? Are they disrespecting staff? Parents are here to help, we want to be made aware of what is happening so we can help you and our kids.
I feel like more email communication would be nice. I would like to be looped in on extra enrichment opportunities, weekly schedules, maybe even a monthly wrap up of what the kids are doing etc.
More staff and the staff need to communicate things with management. My daughter was kicked and when brought up to the teenage staff, they did nothing and told her to go to a different location and “stay away” from the boy who kept hitting her or verbally bullying. I feel lucky that my daughter has told me these things and not suffered in silence.
This is my first year and am thankful to have a safe place where my child can learn and do homework.
Keep communicating and also have meetings with parents whose kids are not getting along to improve positive community/ development.
I feel like more email contact would be nice. I would like to be looped in on extra enrichment opportunities, weekly schedules, maybe even a monthly wrap up of what the kids are doing etc.
By hosting more events that include parents and letting the family know what the kids are doing! That would be great!
I really like the emails we are getting this year.
More things like the ice skating night would be a lot of fun because we thoroughly enjoyed that gift. Maybe a weekly email with a quick summary of projects/ activities that were done by the kids. The whole experience has been great for me as a Single mother.
First, forever grateful to BGC for being open and getting us through the pandemic. Thank you! With communication, we get inconsistent or confusing messages sometimes. Emails tend to go to either me or my husband, not both of us. When I’ve reached out and left a message via phone/email, there’s been slow or no response. Front desk or catching the director gets a better response but that's not always practical. We just want to be more informed so that we can be more present.
More consistent communication between parents and staff.
Parent engagement with the Club leaders. Even a ‘Hi, I am your kids leader’ would suffice. Since the glass doors went up, I have no idea who is watching or guiding my child. I appreciate everything they do, but definitely miss the community feeling.
More communication about what the kids are doing, and knowing what the daily schedule is. Also knowing what snacks are provided, and trying to ensure that snacks are healthy.
If the Club was offered at my home school, it would be easier for me to work. As of now, I have a very difficult time shuttling them around from one end of town to the other for just a couple of after school hours.
Earlier notifications about enrollment confirmation for both the after school program and the camps.
I wish my child could finish homework there but definitely not B&G Club responsibility! You guys are always there to help!
