Although our entire team cares for the community, we are proud to congratulate our team members who have been recognized among Great Bend Tribune’s 20 Under 40 for 2022.

As the talent pool of young professionals throughout the region continues to grow, it is time to honor and recognize these individuals.

This 20 Under 40 magazine features 20 young professionals younger than 40 who exemplify leadership, community involvement and professionalism. We are honoring entrepreneurs, doctors and nurses, attorneys, marketing professionals and more. The list will continue to grow as we yearly showcase the emerging leaders and honor these talents which support our communities each day.

The program recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in their careers and/or in the community. In addition to honoring the recipients, the program is intended to help motivate young people throughout our area to become community leaders.

Each year, we will be soliciting nominations for potential candidates. From these candidates, an independent panel of judges selects twenty leaders to receive the award at a recognition program. Judges this year consisted of community leaders, next year the panel will include a few of the past winners as well.

These individuals are committed to making a difference in our community and creating a lasting impact. They are the doers, dreamers, and difference-makers.

With many well-qualified nominations, the judges were challenged to select just 20 people.

Molly O. Bailly

Andrea was born and raised in Great Bend, She graduated from Oklahoma City University and returned to Great Bend in 2012 after a decade of establishing her career in corporate event planning and production management at Oklahoma City University and Starlight Theatre in Kansas City, Mo. After returning home, she worked for the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce advocating for the business community and creating meaningful networking and business development opportunities. In her current role as the Public Information Director at USD 428, she shares the positive stories and successes of the schools, teachers, and students with the community. She believes that “We all play a role in ensuring a high-quality education system where our young people can flourish and grow.”

“I truly love Great Bend and celebrate aspects big and small that make our community special. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed contributing to Barton County Young Professionals, the Great Bend Recreation Commission, First United Methodist Church, Great Bend Chamber Ambassadors, and most recently the Barton Arts Movement. While our region provides a great deal of natural beauty to enjoy, elevating public art and facilitating new installations and murals is a passion of mine. Art has the ability to instill pride in our community and cultivate a sense of place and belonging for everyone.”

Molly graduated from Great Bend High School and attended Washburn University for her undergraduate degree. After obtaining her degree in education, she taught at North Fairview Elementary School in the Seaman School District in Topeka. She returned to school to pursue her own education and attended Washburn University School of Law. Following graduation and the bar exam, Molly returned to Great Bend to join the law firm of Watkins Calcara Chtd. where she focuses on estate planning, business formation, and elder law. Molly has served as a District Representative for the Kansas Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and was a member of the inaugural class of the Kansas Bar Association’s 2022 Leadership Institute. Molly and her husband Spencer recently welcomed their daughter, Ava, and are excited to continue serving the community and central Kansas.

Community

In addition to being a member of the Kansas Bar Association, Southwest Kansas Bar Association, and the Barton County Bar Association, Molly is also a member of the Fridays on Forest committee through Great Bend Economic Development. Molly and her husband Spencer enjoy attending the Fridays on Forest events, local farmer’s markets and Thursday’s Street Strolls, as well as participating in a weekly Dungeons & Dragons group through Mindsculpt Games in Great Bend.

Natalie completed a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology at Kansas State University. She then completed her doctorate in physical therapy at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She has been a practicing physical therapist since 2016. In 2018 she returned to her hometown Claflin, KS and joined Clara Barton Medical Center. Natalie was promoted to director of therapy services in 2022. Natalie continues to provide physical therapy services in addition to directing the department.

Community

Natalie is involved with the wellness committee at Clara Barton to help promote healthy living for employees and community members. She spends time with high school athletes and coaches to provide education on managing sports injuries and concussion. She volunteers time to speak about the profession of physical therapy and recently spoke at Hoisington High School career fair as well as to USD 431 summer school students. Natalie is involved in her church where she is an altar society member, children’s liturgy educator and gift bearer. She enjoys being active playing volleyball and participates in a four-on-four league as well as golfing with her husband. Natalie and her husband, Taylor, have two sons, Lincoln and Lachlan.

Marketing & Growth Manager, Adams Brown

Barton County has been Korby’s home since December 2016. He moved here after graduating from Fort Hays State University, beginning his career in marketing at Adams Brown, the 120th largest CPA firm in the nation. Since starting in marketing and practice growth, his role and responsibilities have morphed as the firm has grown. He spends his days setting the marketing strategies and managing a team of fellow marketers who are instrumental in executing their marketing plan and goals.

During his time in accounting marketing, he has been a member and volunteer with the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM). He’s the chair of the AAM Member Growth Committee and was named AAM Rookie of the Year in 2019 and AAM Volunteer of the Year in 2022.

Community

“I’m involved in the community in a variety of ways. I’m a board member for United Way of Central Kansas and play in the Great Bend City Band during the summer months. I was also a member of the Barton County Young Professionals Steering Committee for three years and chaired the PR/Marketing Team for a couple of those years. My wife and I also enjoy attending Barton Community College sporting events.”

Born and raised in Great Bend, I was a senior in high school and decided to take phlebotomy at Barton Community College as a requirement of having healthcare experience for the dental hygiene program. I went off to Wichita State University to pursue a career in dental hygiene but only to realize that the city and being away from my family was not for me. I started the MLT program at Barton Community College in 2015. While in school, I worked as a phlebotomist which led me to applying at Clara Barton Medical Center in 2017. I started off as a phlebotomist/lab assistant working my way up to a full-time MLT after passing my certification in 2018. In April of 2021, I was presented an opportunity to teach for the MLT department at Barton Community College. In May of 2022, I was selected as the successor to the current Laboratory Director. I recently just completed the Kansas Hospital Association Leadership Institute.

Community

My mom and dad raised me with the belief that nothing will ever come easy, you must work hard for what you want so when trying to find a place to begin my career, Clara Barton Medical Center was the perfect fit for me.

At Clara Barton, we work hard every day to create the best patient care experiences and that is what I love about being a lab tech and working for a hospital that has the same aspirations as I do. Being passionate about my career, it was not a double thought when I was presented the opportunity to teach others at Barton Community College. I have been blessed along this journey to be surrounded by some of the best mentors that have helped shape me into the lab tech and person I am to this day. Being chosen to carry on the success of my current lab director at Clara Barton Medical Center has been such an honor. I strive to continue to lead my lab family and teach my students the importance of patient care and the impact of caring for others the way you would want to be cared for.

Ty grew up in WaKeeney and graduated from Trego Community High School in 2005. He played football at Fort Hays State University and received a degree in agriculture. He earned his DVM from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. That same year he started working for Dr. Nels Lindberg and became a partner in the practice in 2018. His focus is on large and small animal medicine and surgery with an emphasis in cow/calf production medicine and small animal orthopedic surgery. He received the Young Veterinarian of the Year Award from KSU College of Veterinary Medicine. At Animal Medical Center he “loves helping our staff grow along with our practice and our passion is serving our clients and patients and changing peoples lives through veterinary medicine.”

Community

He enjoys helping with fund raising for AMC shelter, rescues, and other charities through different events they put on through the practice. Ty is a coach for the 10-and-under Quicksilver softball team and president of the Quicksilver board. He also helps with a consulting group that aims to unite veterinary practices from across the country to foster more quality veterinary medicine in rural areas.

Kevin graduated from Great Bend High School in 2004, and moved to Wichita for college. He came back to Great Bend 10 years later with his wife to raise their family. He has a background in finance and sales and added entrepreneur in 2019 when he co-founded Dry Lake Brewing with Ryan Fairchild. Kevin is the brewer/ business manager/janitor at the brewery and feels blessed to have a career that he looks forward to every Monday.

Community

“We located the brewery in the heart of downtown Great Bend on the belief that our taproom could be a community meeting place, and an asset to Barton County. That ideology has given me the opportunity to work alongside so many awesome people working together to make Great Bend and Barton County better. I have four amazing children and love to help with their activities and am on my third year as the head winter swim coach of the Golden Belt Swim Squad.”

Shayla was born and raised in Barton County graduating from Hoisington High School in 2007. After graduating, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Fort Hays State University in 2011. Shayla moved back home to Hoisington and began her career as a medical surgical nurse at Clara Barton Hospital. She then transitioned to working with Dr. Webb as a provider nurse with Clara Barton Clinics. Currently Shayla is working at Clara Barton Medical Center as the nurse manager for all four clinics and transitioning into the clinics administrator in the next year. Shayla also has taken the Kansas Hospital Associations Leadership course graduating from this class in September of 2019. Shayla enjoys providing healthcare and working with the community when it comes to access to care, improving the health and wellness of the community, and vaccinations for the community.

Community

The Hoisington community has been home to Shayla since graduating from high school in 2007. Shayla has continued to be involved with the community by sitting on the GPS board and running the Hoisington Junior Cardinal Wrestling Club with her husband Kody. She enjoys being involved in the community by offering vaccine drives through Clara Barton along with working lab fairs, Meals On Wheels, and attending USD 431 educational events. She also enjoys following her children (ages 8, 7, 6) around to sporting events and school events.

Professional Taylor is a fifth-generation Great Bend resident, and grew up on the family farm west of Great Bend. He obtained a B.S. in Finance in 2009 from Kansas State University, graduating summa cum laude. He then obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2012, graduating with a class rank of 18/154

obtaining a Business and Commercial Law Certificate. While

KU Law, Taylor also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy academic publication. He is licensed to practice in Kansas (both state and federal courts). Prior to returning to Great Bend to join Watkins Calcara, Chtd. in 2012, Taylor completed internships with the Office of Congressman Jerry Moran (Washington, D.C.), Koch Industries (Wichita, KS), and Polsinelli PC (Kansas City, MO). He is a shareholder in the firm, practicing in the areas of real estate, estate planning, business and corporate law, and electric utility law. He and his wife Kelly have three children, Cora (6), Kit (4), and Brooks (2).

Sydney grew up on a farm outside of Claflin and attended Kansas State University where she received her Bachelor of Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations. She also received a dual-minor in both Business and Leadership Studies. After graduating from K-State in 2016, she returned to the central Kansas area and accepted a job at Clara Barton Medical Center as communications specialist. In 2018, she was promoted to the director of public relations and provider recruitment at CBMC.

Community

Sydney serves on the Wichita State University Physician Assistant Clinical Advisory Committee, She is the lead sponsor for the National Catholic Youth Conference for the Odin and Claflin parishes, and is an active member of the ICC Altar Society, volunteer for the Fall Fun Festival benefitting Kans for Kids, and is a volunteer interviewer for the Central Plains High School senior mock interviews.

Landon, a fourth-generation State Farm agency owner, graduated from Fort Hays State University with a finance degree in 2019. Looking for opportunity to move back to his hometown, he did not hesitate to carry on his family’s 65-year State Farm legacy. Since taking ownership in 2020, Landon’s team has ranked among the fastest growing agencies in the state of Kansas. Landon hopes to see the same success and growth for the city of Larned as a whole.

Community

Serving on the Pawnee County Economic Development Board, Landon is eager to help cultivate vision for a better economic future. He makes sure there are activities geared toward young people and kids; he has helped coach American Legion Baseball, and through the Citizen Review Board he advocates for kids in the community.

April was born and raised in Great Bend and graduated from Great Bend High School in 2009. After high school, she attended Barton Community College on a tennis scholarship and majored in Criminal Justice. A year later she changed her major to nursing, completed her Associate Degree and became a Registered Nurse in 2014. April started her medical career as a CNA at Great Bend Regional Hospital in 2008 then changing to a Medical- Surgical Nurse, filling in as an Emergency Nurse and advancing to House Supervisor. She helped develop the Outpatient Nurse position and worked in that capacity until 2017. While at Great Bend Regional she also worked a second job as a Travel Nurse for Allstaff for two years, switching to Ellinwood District Hospital as a PRN RN. She still works at Ellinwood District Hospital part-time. In 2017, she began working at Clara Barton Medical Clinic in its Hoisington location as a Clinical Quality Nurse. She became a provider nurse for Debra Brockel, PA and was then promoted in 2020 as the Clinical Informatics RN and part of the leadership team for all of Clara Barton’s medical and surgical clinics.

Community

Last year she was nominated to serve on the Eisenhower Elementary and the USD 428 District site councils, she will continue to serve this year as well. She is also serving as Vice President on the Argonne Board. She has two children. Ryder, 9, is involved in traveling tackle football and wrestling. Lynnex, 5 is doing competitive cheerleading.

Professional Macy was born in Manhattan and is a graduate of Olathe North High School. She attended Kansas State University for undergraduate classes and then graduated from Saint Luke’s College of Health Sciences where she earned her BSN. Following graduation, Macy moved to Texas where she worked at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine. Missing her home state, Macy returned to Kansas, moving to Claflin where most of her family resides. She has worked at Clara Barton Medical Center for the last 6 1/2 years, most recently being promoted to Nurse Manager at the medical clinics.

Charell is always finding ways to help others. She volunteers her time and energy with The United Way of Central Kansas as well as assists the 22 agencies it serves. She personally volunteers at Catholic Charities, Stuff the Bus, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Reality U, #RealWorld, Laundry Love, Great Bend Humane Society, and is a member of LCOPE-HEAT.

Kristin is a native of Great Bend, born and raised. She graduated from Great Bend High School in 2008 and attended Barton Community College. She started working for Sunflower Bank when she was 21. She was then promoted to Assistant Branch Manager in Salina when she and her husband moved there. After living in Salina for seven years, right before COVID-19 hit, they decided to return back to Great Bend to raise their son where they grew up. While COVID was a difficult time to start a new job, Kristin handled PPP Loans immediately as they worked around the clock assisting their customers amid the pandemic to keep the workforce in Barton County financially stable during the health crisis. Now that life has become “normal” again, Kristin has actively engaged in many community activities and has made her home and career in Barton County.

Kristin goes above and beyond to help others and continuously looks for collaborative opportunities to serve customers at Sunflower Bank. Kristin seamlessly mixes her professional responsibilities with her passions to benefit the community.

Kristin was a member of Salina Young Professionals and Salina Leadership class of 2019. Currently, she is a Great Bend Ambassador, LHEAT-COPE member and attends First United Methodist Church. She regularly attends Chamber coffees and ribbon cuttings, and volunteers in the community.

On October 1st, 2022, I celebrated my four-year anniversary since I returned to my hometown as a family physician. I practice full-scope family medicine including inpatient medicine, obstetrics, and sports medicien.

Community

I serve on the Great Bend Recreation commission board as the city representative. I volunteer as one of the team physicians for both Great Bend High School and Barton Community College and was previously a volunteer with the Moment of Grace Crisis Pregnancy Center in Great Bend.

Regan is a proud, lifelong Kansan. Born to a farming family in Hoxie, she graduated from Hoxie High School and then attended Fort Hays State University, where she received her degree in Organizational Leadership. She currently works as a Strategic Marketing Manager at The University of Kansas Health System.

Regan is a driven, passionate, and innovative business professional. She strives to make a meaningful impact in all that she does and in the lives of those she has the honor of working with. Throughout her career, she’s had the privilege of overseeing growth and marketing initiatives, leading human resources teams, and focusing on strategic planning.

Regan and her husband Cole’s greatest joy is raising their two sons, Fitz and Dax. Crediting her faith, her family, and many mentors, Regan will be the first to tell you she’s been abundantly blessed.

Community

Regan has resided in Great Bend for nearly 10 years. Committed to leaving things better than she found them, she spends time volunteering in community organizations including the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, Barton Community College Business Advisory Board, Barton County Young Professionals, Great Bend “Better than Great” Visioning Steering Committee. United Way of Central Kansas, Prairie Godmothers, Holy Family School Endowment, and Barton Arts Movement. Additionally, she volunteers for the FHSU Voss Advanced Leadership Undergraduate Experience (VALUE) program, FHSU Leadership Studies and FHSU Alumni Association Board. She is also a Class XVI Associate of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership Inc. leadership program.

Regan was selected as the 2016 NextGen Leader of the Year by the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce and the 2021 FHSU Young Alumni Recipient.

Professional Micca was the Great Bend High School 2010 Salutatorian. She graduated from the University of Kansas in 2013 and the KU medical school. She did her residency at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Micca returned to Great Bend to help provide quality care in delivering babies, newborn care, taking care of children, women’s health, adult medicine, geriatrics and hospice. She is the medical director of Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice.

Community Micca volunteers for high school and college sports physicals. She is happy to give back to the community that she grew up in, making it a better place for those that live here.

Trent was born and raised in Great Bend. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 2005 and then attended North Central Kansas Technical College and graduated in 2006. Trent worked in the plumbing, heating and air conditioning field for a couple years then started at Wheatland Electric in April of 2008. He started out as a grounds man then went through Wheatland’s four-year apprenticeship program where he received his journeyman lineman card. He continued his education with them and went through the Substation Maintenance program and the Metering Program. He now has certifications in Linework, Substations and Metering. Currently, Trent services and maintains electrical substations and metering equipment.

Community

“I have been blessed with the strong support of my friends and family. My two children; Hannah and Lydia, have been a major inspiration for me. As a single dad, I want them to see a father that can succeed and be successful in life. Although major curve balls can be thrown your direction, when you set goals in life, they can be achieved through hard work and dedication. I want to be role model that they can look up to and know that they can achieve their life goals through Christ and hard work. ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ – Philippians 4:13.”

He is on the Lake Barton Golf Course Board of Directors, president of the Golden Belt Umpires Association, coaches his daughter’s sporting teams, and volunteers at the Heartland Community Church. Trent is a varsity umpire for baseball and softball through KSHSAA and a referee for varsity football through KSHSAA and PKFL for the community of Great Bend.

Professional Allison graduated from Great Bend High School and then in 2012 from Barton Community College with an Associate in Science degree. After that she attended Hays Academy of Hair Design and graduated in August of 2013. In 2013 she made top 10 in the Sassoon Cut and Color competition and received a trip to California to the hair show to showcase the hair model’s before and after photographs that were entered into the contest. She opened Signature Salon in July of 2015 with the help of Steve and Brenda Ohnmacht. Her vision was to create a clean, spacious, comfortable environment for everyone to enjoy.

“I definitely wouldn’t be where I am today without the support from my family and also God! We have made many changes in the last couple years and I am so blessed with the team we have and how well we all work together. In my profession, I provide cuts, colors, waxing, pedicures, formal updos, and lash extensions! Making people look and feel their best is the most rewarding career and I love what I do! I have made many lifelong friends from this industry and I absolutely love the fast paced and friendly environment we have created here at Signature Salon!

Community

Allison is a member of St. Rose Parish. She and her husband Cody have to two small daughters. She loved growing up in Great Bend and this is where she wants to raise her family. Being involved in the community helps make it such a great place. Attending the events the community offers such as football games, downtown shopping events, and donating to high school fundraisers helps makes this a great place.
