Horticulture Classes

17. A dot with the entry number on it will be affixed to the container at the show to ensure that an entry card, if separated from the exhibit container during staging can be returned to the proper entry before judging.

18. Once an entry has been passed it may not be touched by anyone other than the placement committee, the Horticulture chair, the show chair, or the clerks.

19. All entries must be removed on Friday, April 22, 2022, between 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. After 4:30 p.m., all entries will be discarded if not removed by the exhibitor.

20. List the scale of points by which the classes are to be judged. Please refer to the FS&J Pocket Guide @ the Show, July 2020 edition. In

Horticulture, judges may award only one first place (blue), and if merited more than one second place (red), third place (yellow), or honorable mention (white), per class.

CUT SPECIMENS – Green Goddess

Classes 1-28

One stem not to exceed 26” in length, measured from the lip of the container to the tip of the stem. Exceptions are stated in the class descriptions.

Classes 1-2 Annuals

One stem – 3-month ownership requirement (January 20, 2022) 1. Flowering 2. Foliage

Classes 3-12 Perennials

Classes 30 – 32

Cut specimens from the exhibitor’s garden arranged in a container provided by the exhibitor. Entire arrangement is limited to 15” wide. Guidelines, is waived, though may not exceed 15” diameter, measured at the soil line on the interior of the container. Key card required.

Classes 36 -41 Succulents– 9-month ownership (July 20, 2021)

36. Agave 37. Aloe 38. Echeveria 39. Euphorbia 40. Gasteria/Haworthia 41. Collection of any 3 succulents in one container. Container may not exceed 8” diameter, measured at the soil line on the interior of the container. Key card required.

One plant per container, must be in flower

Classes 43-44 Foliage Plants

Class 45 Miniatures

Plants that are naturally diminutive – one plant per container
