I don't care about age very much. I think back to the old people I knew when I was growing up, and they always seemed larger than life.

U3A bus trip to Castle Howard, Yorkshire The proposed trip to Castle Howard will be on Thursday 10th July 2014, leaving Cleethorpes at approximately 8.30 am. The cost will be approximately £20 each which includes entrance to the House and Gardens – it will not cost more but the final amount will depend on the number of members going and may cost less. If you are interested in this trip please add your name to the list which will be available at the monthly meeting. If you cannot attend the monthly meeting but wish to go on the trip please email Anne Mann at anne.mann1@ntlworld.com or Pauline Campbell at pd@campbell877.plus.com

It has come to our notice that there

has been a misinterpretation of the annual membership fee. Group Leaders are asked to remind members in their group that anyone renewing their membership must pay the full £15 renewal fee. Similarly, members who only join their groups for the summer months must pay the £15 yearly membership. The only concessions are for new members joining part way through the membership year – these members will pay a reduced fee according to the month they join. Transport Problem If you have, or if you know about any member who has, a transport problem we would like to hear about the nature of the problem. You can pass this information to Anne Mann or Himanshu.

Recently at one of our meetings we had a request to publicise ticket sales for a forthcoming local event. At the time we declined to do this on the understanding that, as it was a commercial company promoting their event, the U3A as a Charity could not advertise on their behalf. It has since been clarified by U3A Head Office that providing the publicity is for charitable purposes only the U3A has no objections to their details being displayed on the Notice Board. For specific commercial events any advertisement will be displayed at the discretion of the Committee.
