TEDxGCU Poster Design

TedxGCU is a student run organization that branches from TED. As a designer on this team, I helped promote the main event by creating printed and digital materials for different platforms while following the company brand. I was able to meet several talented people in their industry and collaborate with several teams to create this successful event.

Motion Graphic Animation

Here is the sticker design I created to represent the event. I wanted to promote thinking outside-the-box and seeing ideas with a open-minded perspective. The result was this unique, eye-catching concept.

TEDxGCU Logo Design

As a designer on this team, I helped design the logo, and other virtual and printed materials that met the branding requirements. Here is the final result of the logo creation.

3D Outdoor Environment News Paper Cart

This 3D model was created in Maya and textured in Substance painter. It displays a snippet of a newspaper cart in a spring park. I used Maya to model the scene and used Substance Painter to texture.

Main Object Breakdown In this model, I created an nCloth to lay over the cart to give the tarp a flexible and more realistic feel. The cart is placed in early morning sunshine to give a fresh and crisp feel. I kept the modeling lightly stylized with a stronger emphasis in realism.

This Gauntlet is referenced from the Marvel series. It was modeled and unwrapped in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and composited in Photoshop. My ultimate focus on this project was to create strong realistic textures and clean unwrapping.

This advertisement was to help promote the Vans’ shoe company new release of their new collection. The goal of the client was to bring back the “Retro” style into modern day application. I created hand-drawn illustrations and animated textures to stylize the ad in a new way. I used key colors and patterns to help convey the retro concept of these shoes. My assets were a blend of 2D frame-by-frame animation as well as a compositing tasks in After Effects.

I created a KitchenAid Advertisment showcasing their new color collection for the Artisan Electric Mixer. In this project, I modeled and rigged in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, edited the footage in Premiere Pro, and composited in After Effects. I was able to compile multiple skillsets to create a professional and appealing commercial for the audience to enjoy.

Figure Drawing Anatomy and Studies

In my observations of the human body and anatomy, I was able to see how the body expresses emotion and personality in different ways. I used a varying amount of shadows, textures, and styles to realistically represent the human body and proportions. These studies consist of a 2 hour study and a one 1 hour study.

3D Underwater Environment

Lake Dock Scene

“Fishing for the Soul” During my internship as a 3D artist and animator for the short film “Fishing for the Soul”, I was tasked to create an underwater scene environment for some of the fish characters in the story. I modeled the artist’s concepts in Maya and textured in Substance Painter. The Render is an Arnold render with caustics applied to the lights of the scene.

Muscle Recovery

In this infographic, I explained the muscle recovery process after an intense workout at the gym. The main points the infographic focused on the importance of hydration, stretching and warming up, and consuming magnesium and potassium. I used Illustrator and After Effects to create a visually pleasing motion graphic that was easy to understand.

I created several assets in Illustrator that I then used in After Effects to animate. The hexagons were used as alpha mattes and filled with animated color, and the flexed arm was rigged with the puppet tool to give the illusion of a flexing arm.
