A vibrant range of activities for the local Woodlands community and beyond!


Swapping shoes

Adult learning sessions which bring together groups of people with common experiences and challenges. Delivered by Later Learning. Groups and Dates Family Carers Unemployed later in life Recently divorced / widowed Parents of recent school leavers

Community Radio Workshops

An 8 week course of community radio workshops for local people of all ages. Learn how to develop, produce and present a radio programme. Create a radio feature celebrating people, groups and organisations in the Woodlands area. Led by Sunny Govan Community Radio. Dates: Saturdays, 11am – 1pm Cost: £FREE. Cookery Classes

Learn how to cook simple, healthy and delicious meals on a budget. Hands-on cookery classes delivered by the Albany Café chef’s Jamie and Matt.

Stir-fries and other ‘one pot wonders’ Thursday 16th May, 5:30pm – 7:30pm Summer salads and deserts Thursday 13th June, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Woodlands & Park Community Council Meetings

Meetings for Woodlands & Park Community Council are open to the public. Visit www.woodlandsparkcc.org.uk for details. Dates: Second Wednesday of each month, 7:30pm – 9pm.

Welfare Reform Workshop

An overview of the Welfare Reform changes which are currently taking place. The workshop covers: benefit caps, housing benefit, and the bedroom tax benefit, and Universal Credit and Personal Independence payments. First Aid

Learn simple and easy to remember first aid skills. Relaxed and informal, using everyday scenarios and items

Baby & Child First Aid Thursday 2nd May or Thursday 6th June, 6pm-8pm Everyday First Aid Thursday 9th May or Wednesday 19th June, 6pm–8pm

Broken Biscuits Cookery Club

Monthly family cookery club hosted by Tom Shields. This is a community project on a tight budget, supported by help from local chefs and businesses. Come together with other families to find out about tasty food through lively demonstration and hands-on experience. Tapas (suitable for children aged 10+) With Guillermo from Malagatapas restaurant Saturday 27th April, 10:45am – 1pm

Vietnamese cooking (suitable for children aged 5+) With Emily from Hanoi Bike Shop Saturday 18th May, 10:45am – 1pm
