A Tool to use to guide Literacy Ultranet Space exploration……..

Let’s take a quick tour……………….?

South Gippsland

iLearn Literacy

Let’s view the next 4 slides on how PLTs can work together effectively to unpack exemplar Literacy Spaces in the Ultranet identifying key elements that can be used as a springboard to support current curriculum foci.. via Comic Life discussions…………..

Let’s take this idea to our next PLT!

Well girls I have been thinking of our next steps for our PLT focus for Term 3 and I've been noticing that there have been some fabulous spaces created in the Ultranet to support curriculum delivery!

Yeah Gail, I think our staff are ready to assess the resources we already use and include some current tools to best support the learning intention of a learning sequence!

I wholeheartedly agree particularly to ensure that what is being designed and planned is an engaging sequence. Let's plan out a proposed framework for Space investigation and find out what's available and explore which resources can support what is working well! We also need to keep in mind what devices our students have access to when considering the content in these spaces!

I can’t wait to investigate them! I’ve also found a series from South Gippsland focussing on writing Genre and special Themes.

My mate, Gerry, mentioned that there is a superb i-Learn series covering Themes, Subject Domains such as Literacy or specialty areas from P to 12.

So staff will need to know what’s good about ‘em! Let’s create a framework to quickly guide what elements support our curriculum planning and strengthen teaching and learning.

We must also include our very own Hume Region Literacy Space as it supports our core work so we need all our Team to understand the wealth of resources there.

The Team will need time between this PLT and the next to investigate a Space and then share their findings and recommendations. This can be the ‘away task’ and setting up for the next PLT!

This protocol template is starting to resonate with me! It will really guide our members to use their planning time efficiently in evaluating a Space. It will be a great record to collect the resource information to help inform the Team to plan our Literacy curriculum!

Will I suggest that each staff member is allocated a Space?

Let’s try the observation template with one of the Spaces to see how effective it is in gathering the required information!

Open microphone/Questions and Share-time…….. Put your hand up to grab the microphone or type in the space below……

What have you learned? What else do you need to know? How can this translate into your classroom? Your school? How will you go about this? Who are the key teachers, teams etc? What is your next step or plan?
