BRIEF: To produce a series of one-off pieces for the creative industries. This brief was more of a ‘fun brief’ and allowed me to produce different style of work from how I normally work, but it is still in the name of promotion.
BRIEF 1 - MIXTURE
01/04
This brief enabled me to combine a mixture of smaller briefs, they are all live/competition briefs. The range of work is completely different as the briefs required different formats and styles. It has been really good practice to complete live briefs as the experience of working with different restrictions has taught me about different styles of working.

D&AD
02/04
The Mexican Museum of Design brief was for a competition to promote good design through a representation of death, based on personal interpretation. The format for this was 60cm x 90cm for the competition criteria. To death with a smile was the name of the competition and I used this as the concept for my ideas to create a piece that was happy and positive. The D&AD brief was to promote a lecture in Leeds given by GBH. I used the D&AD colour scheme in order for people to recognise the brand.

BLOC+BLUR CREATIVE STUDIO
03/04
The Fatboy Slim cover is for a competition brief to redesign the front cover for ‘You’ve Come A Long Way Baby’. My concept is based on how far technology has come - from here I have used a QR code for the image of the front cover, which is fully functional and takes the audience to the Fatboy Slim website. Bloc+Blur was for a live brief, which had quite a few restrictions such as scale, logo, colours and text, so it was heavily driven by layout. This is in A4 format.

BRIEF 1 - MIXTURE
04/04
The visuals for the this brief were inspired by the visuals from the Mexican Museum of Design brief. I enjoyed creating the patterns and wanted to take them further so I created some one-off notebooks, as a way of promoting pen and paper as so many people now take notes on their phones or laptops. In the end I did not take these to the book fair as I didn’t think they would sell.
