H i everyone, I’m excited to be on your screens throughout the Christmas period to bring you some brand-new gemstone acquisitions that I’ve been working on recently.
Before my shows I’m always following the gems on their mine-to-jewellery journey, which starts with buying the parcel and ends with you seeing the finished piece on screen. The process can take six months, with lots of research along the way so I can bring the story of each gem to you.
I’ve been able to tell the stories of many fascinating gems in 2024, including Larimar with its newfound rarity following its recent mine closure, and the jewel of the Mediterranean that is Red Coral. This month, I’m ending the year with more showcases that I hope will be just as successful, with the likes of Angolan Diamonds, a Chalcedony suite, and a Yellow Fire Quartz launch all making an appearance. But the gem I’m most excited about this December is Burmese Amber, a fossilised resin dating back to the Cretaceous period almost 100 million years ago. The gem comes from Myanmar’s Hukawng Valley, and is filled with prehistoric inclusions like lizards, frogs, arthropods, and even dinosaur remains. Its history is of great value to paleontologists, and being able to deliver something like this to your home is incredible.
I hope you can join me for my first-ever Burmese Amber show, because the chance to own a piece of history of this calibre is one that rarely comes around.
