As the first-generation daughter of Dominican immigrants, my passion for pursuing business has always been deeply tied to international opportunities and giving back to my community in the Dominican Republic—values I’ve witnessed my parents embody throughout their lives. The global perspective I gained through this program reinforced my commitment to making an impact beyond borders. Working for a global company now, I am actively applying the knowledge and skills I developed at McDonough, bringing me one step closer to achieving my goal of driving meaningful change on an international scale.

The McDonough Career Center helped me navigate my career by introducing me to different industries and companies and helping me navigate the different experiences once I received my offers. Through my study abroad experience in Italy as well as Georgetown’s focus on values, I was able to find a position at Google that connects back to our Jesuit roots and purpose-driven work, which was an important driver for my career.

Georgetown McDonough’s faculty and staff are the heart and soul of the program. I always felt like I had someone in my corner cheering me on. The McDonough alumni network is also a huge resource for students. An alumnus introduced me to Barclays and was there to encourage and support me throughout the recruiting process. I highly value the education I received from Georgetown and could not be more grateful for those in the program who poured into my life and invested in me.

The various clubs and organizations I am involved in helped me find mentors who played critical roles in my professional development: they encouraged me to explore less-considered possible career paths; guided me through important concepts I had yet to learn in class; and helped me prepare for interviews.
